I've been considering a multitude of factors into including that, actually. This explanation uses concepts from LA Noir and Ace Attorney: Miles Edgeworth's Investigations.
Firstly, the way I want to handle evidence will borrow from LA Noir. In it, there are times when you find enough clues to give you a lead, however this may not be all the important evidence in the case. If you do take the time to comb for everything, you may have the ability to stick around and pick everything up for better leads. This is one idea I'd like to implement. Yes it mans there will be multiple routes you can take during the trial but that much detail I think would greatly flesh out the story progression of the cases. This may be especially helpful as each case will have 1 "secret" piece of evidence/ line of reasoning that, if discovered, can shortcut you through the case with sound logic and exploiting fantastic holes in the killer's cover-up plan.
Secondly, I want to give the player the ability to solve the cases on their own instead of reactionary answering question after question. Borrowing AA:I's Logic mechanic, I will allow the player to treat all evidence collected in their list as clues, and can be combined to form a theory or line of reasoning. At the beginning of trials you're given the option to present your logic to the class and establish the direction of what the class discusses for the trial. For the most adept mystery-solving players this means you are dominating the conversation and are truly leading the case, and you WILL earn an A rank for the mission. If you decide to not present or just couldn't find anything to kickstart discussion, another classmate could introduce a topic and let the trial play out like any DR trial would, with you as a responder less than being proactive. Keep in mind though, not all classmates will bring up topics leading to the truth, and those players have the added task of sifting through valuable vs BS conversation.

With the original staff gone and the remaining members clearly saying they want to move on, there is really nothing left to do. At most, they could go back and put some better and higher res cutscenes in DR1/2, and patch it out for PS4/PC. And since Ace Attorney Trilogy is coming as a multiplat, Xbox One and Switch owners who enjoy that will look for a similar game. So make a DR trilogy bundle and port it to XB1/Switch. With cleaned up versions of DR1/2 and it being available everywhere, that would be a great ending point for the series
