Miyamoto said that like 6 years ago, i seriously doubt they're still holding to that. It was always becasue F Zero doesnt sell, and the original team that made F Zero is gone and Nintendo doesnt want to dedicate a studio to making F Zero games when the games wont be successful anyway.

Speaking as a non-F-Zero fan and non-nintenbro, I would buy a new F-Zero game IF it took the foundations of GX and added things like course obstacles, like Swoop Racing in KOTOR, and special car properties like Sonic Riders.
As it stands, F-Zero is way too easy and too breezy---fast yes, but challenging, not really.
