>can we at least agree that TPS was a fun game?
no

borderlands is boring

yes

If it was an expansion DLC priced 30$ at most. However it was sold as a full game at 60$ with about a fourth of the content base BL2 had.

maybe

fpbp
Borderlands sucks dick. Kill yourself.

I only played the base game once but I remember thinking the final boss was fun and the best of the 3 games.

Yeah, TPS was fun.

Yea Forums hates literally every game so fuck Yea Forums

I enjoyed it for what it was. The skills were better than they've ever been, the anti-grav buttslams and the laser guns were super fun additions. Shame about the dogshit writing and the non-existent endgame

It had better heroes and weapons.

Worth 22 leafbux for the game and DLC?

I have enjoyed every Borderlands game to some extent and replayed them multiple times for what it's worth.

No. Almost all quests were repetitive simple fetch quests where you walk around killing the same few mob types every 20 feet and then walk back to the quest giver. Level design was lackluster and low gravity movement was uninteresting. Borderlands has a good track record of being decent single player and very fun with friends, but TPS was boring regardless.

If you enjoyed the gameplay of 2 it's basically just more of that but with a few added things and even shittier writing. Campaign isn't as long as 2's but it's fairly lengthy and the skills are really fun to mess with.

I hated buttslamming

What didn't you like about it? I thought it was a nice addition

Probably not. It's easily the worst in the series.

>action skills were lame passive buffs
>Handsome Jack dindu nuffin!!!! (let's just conveniently forget "Get To Know Jack" in BL2)
>level design mainly consisted of wide, empty moonscape with low enemy density
>moon gravity makes everything feel even more floaty and slow
>no endgame
>season pass DLC took forever to release and didn't live up to what was promised
>worst of all, all the music before Claptastic Voyage was shitty and forgettable

Attached: 1546558144192.gif (126x127, 42K)

I unironically loved the low grav combat. Also laser weapons were kino and Cryo weapons were infinitely better than Slag. BL1 and 1 had more replayability but TPS was the most fun.

*BL1 and 2 had more replayability

no the moonjumps, same enviroments, and getting locked in a room for 5 mins every hour for side quest dialog is awful

Should I play BL2 or TPS to satisfy my looter shooter itch? I don't really care about endgame

I would just chill until bl1 remaster which is friday

is BL1 better than the others?

BL1 has the best loot system. BL2 has the most content, TPS has the best gameplay. Take your pick.

yes

It has better gun visuals(guns are far less silly, and shotguns are based as fuck with those cool piping on the side and sniper revolver reloads), better gun generation, legends drop all over the place all the time which is more exciting than having to farm 1 guy until you get 1 legendary and an overall more chill game with zero interrupts with dialog.

just pop music on and kill things while picking up legends every 15ish mins

on the downside the vault hunters and skill trees are just more boring and simple. also has far less content compared to 2.

So after the remastered with the quality of life thats coming up with it, i would honestly put 1+2 on the same tier

Yes and no. In terms of weapons? Yes. In terms of characters and gameplay? No. I know I'm going to get shit for this because Yea Forums hates Anthony Burch but BL2 was the overall best in the series.

Are we going to be able to use old saves with the remaster packs?

youtube.com/watch?v=ryDTFx9Fj3E

tps has nothing to do with the borderlands main devs. it was made by 2k australia and marin. gearbox themselves had NOTHING to do with it. they pretty much gave zero shits and farmed it out thinking some 3rd world dev would just not do a good job and people would love gearbox again. predictably it backfired on them. of course

>BL2 without Krieg
4/10
>BL2 with Krieg
11/10

Attached: Krieg.jpg (857x1000, 446K)

Is Krieg a good first character? Everything I've heard so far about him makes it seem like he doesn't care about loot drops that much

yes. his mechanic is dying forever and reviving from dying. his skill trees all have to do with him melleeing shit. so you'll mostly never need an actual gun worth a damn.

He wants certain drops that augment his skill. You wont be relying on weapons to deal damage as much with him at higher levels.

Its slow going until you get the last talent in the mania tree, in which case you become an unkillable god.
The best beginner character would probably be Mechromancer, but Krieg is still well worth it.

why is he liked so much if he doesn't really use guns in the game about guns?

youtube.com/watch?v=ZRZJnrs1r_0

why do you hate fun

Because he's pure mindless fun, going ham on everything with a buzzsaw.
You can still do a gun or elemental build with him too if you want, and you will probably be forced to in the highest OP difficulty levels anyways.

Because Buzzaxe Rampage is fucking awesome.

Attached: GRIND GRIND GRIND KILL KILL KILL.jpg (1512x654, 658K)

I really liked the double jump, the lasers, and the removal of slag for a much more interesting element. That said, everything about it feels rushed as hell. That, and it has terrible end game content. Not bad for a playthrough or two, but nowhere near the polish of Borderlands 2. I certainly wouldn't sink the amount of hours I did into it as I did with Borderlands 2.

Claptastic Voyage is the best DLC content in the series though.

because BL 2 has really fucking shit drop rates and you will pretty much NEVER get a drop actually WORTH having. because BL 2 was built around the microtransaction mechanic of shitbox wanting to pretty much force you into pay-to-not-lose buy buying keys for their shitty box thingy at sanctuary.

so to force you into that, all drops pretty much suck ass.

plus his skills are straight up OP and amusingly different. they're very different from every other character, including brick from bl 1.

another4 option is gaige. because her robot can be skilled out to kill everything for you. but she is accused of being the terminal noobs choice, since there are builds for her skill tree that reward you not even bothering to attempt to play. namely shooting EVERYTHING except your enemies.

Because his action skill can be upgraded to instantly restore all of his health, massively boost his damage, and be used repeatedly if you can time it right, which is piss easy to do.

Absolutely not

What the fuck are you talking about? You can't buy golden keys as far as I know. I have like 200 of them from various sources and they were all free.

TPS was absurdly boring. It had better heroes easily, but the content was just ass to actually play through. I won't even complain about the dialogue since I just changed that shit to a different language and turned subtitles off after the first playthrough.

Attached: 1539964460407.jpg (342x260, 32K)

>I would just chill until bl1 remaster which is friday
Is it a free update for those who already have it on PC or do I have to buy it again? Because fuck that, I'm not buying BL again.

yes, because originally it was going to be a lootbox microtransaction nickel and dime screw the players even harder.

they changed their tune when pretty much everyone shat themselves in apoplectic raeg. and turned golden keys to earnables instead.

Think they'll bring back/change badass points in 3?

I really liked the idea of having a secondary "independent" stat gain system apart from gear that could also carry over to making a new character, so you would have your second character you rolled super charged to steamroll to max level.

youtube.com/watch?v=EfO5hq0rcc0

HA HA HA HA HA HA

gaige is a jav star? lol

You were right with your typo. I sunk so many hours into bl1 endgame. Couldn’t give two shits about bl2’s. Maybe the novelty just wore off
[spoilers]Or maybe I went from playing with friends to playing solo :([/spoilers]

Is Borderlands 1 worth playing? I've only ever played 2 and thought it was decent-good but I hear 1 is pretty different.

Who the fuck cares? Golden keys are worthless anyway

Had some fun ideas but overall was the worst of BL1 and BL2 put together.

thanks for the responses. i just bought the Handsome Collection because i never finished BL2 and i was told i'd like Krieg because Brick was my favorite character in BL1. i liked the melee/guns mix you could have with Brick, so i was looking at Krieg and Zer0. Axton's grenade build seemed pretty cool too but i didn't enjoy Roland's turret in BL1.

free if you own BL1.

if you're playing bl2 for the first time play gaige or axton. pretty much every character is ass for the first playthrough

The characters were alright. Especially Jack. Being able to play as Jack is great, and Jack’s va just sells everything so well. Nisha a cute.

Aside from that not really. It was more 2 with small extra bits, and 2 is just 1 but mechanically worse.

Attached: 5EF197B1-8FCA-42FC-B852-AD8B2F1A2F62.jpg (642x859, 57K)

あああ素晴らしいが音です

Sure. I'm playing through it again as Athena since I never did the DLC. She's pretty fun with her Elemental tree.

He's off about the golden keys, but he's completely right about the atrocious drop rates. That shit was so bad, IIRC it was originally like .01% for a legendary world drop, 1% from a boss increase. You could farm Bunker for hours upon hours and never happen upon a single Sham, which is one of the best shields in the game and a non-negotiable needed gear for the best builds.
They eventually patched it to increase the drop rates exponentionally, but 3 years too late.

>free if you own BL1.
Cool, maybe they'll fix the godawful camera now.

So how much longer is the Handsome collection on sale for? I only lack the TPS DLC and BL2's Headhunter packs, of which I'm not sure if they're actually worth doing in the slightest, and there's those stupid cosmetics to flood up the DLC owned statistic.

This is your brain on Yea Forums

I love seeing Reddit retards defend her

"I'm lesbian and love janey"

or they throw out the shes basically just female scooter, and you just don't like her cause your a homophobic .

Borderlands players cant be homophobic period. Like half of the fucking cast is bi or a fag. Janey is incredibly annoying and so is scooter, but scooter least has fun lines once in a while, and yeah the normal non fag speaking normally is way less obnoxious than the gay one preaching because it is abnormal

Janey is irritating but Tiny Tina is worse desu.

Yes? that was their original goal, forcing single player to "feature" multiplayer game retardation in order to 'make more money'

but they got BTFO by 'fan' reactions and critics and changed it.

>implying you wouldn't a tiny tina six ways from sunday all day every day until your dick fell off

bl3 tina looks weird

so yeah still cause im a degenerate and would fuck most things

That’s beside the point.

It's a 6/10 at best, even sold it for a few bones

admit it, there's at least ONE or three things you'd do to make her STFU.

i just love how in the quest to dogwhistle and tokenistically tickoff all the goodboy points they could get, they accidentally made a vicious sex loli.

The female scooter line tilts me so fucking hard. I will never understand the people who defend the worst part of this game

Lesbians are such a cop out
its like the weakest form of minority and yet they act like there in danger or some shit

Typical woman shit when you think about it
Not in danger or no one really gives a shit but bitches the loudest anyways

Most of them are just playing pretend, i had like 5 separate full on lesbian girls in high school and every single one of them grew up and our dating a guy or married already to one. and fuck don't get me started on bisexual girls who make that there whole personality even when they mainly date dudes

TPS was easily the best Borderlands. Where my /slamdamage/ niggas at?

randy did age her to exactly 18, he is ourguy just as autistic and a sexual degenerate

Krieg is great, but you don't really need to have good guns as Gaige or Axton either. In terms of most overall viability in both the early and endgame, I'd probably say Gaige is probably the best: Deathtrap and bullet ricochet shits on trash mobs throughout the game and Anarchy is stupid strong against endgame raid bosses. She's also deceptively tanky with that one skill that recharges your shields every time you get a kill.

Doesn't Deathtrap scale really poorly on true and ultimate vault hunter?

Ironic shitposting is still shitposting.

yeah but with anarchy you won't even need him

Who is the most fun character to play through in tps? I only beat it with Claptrap the first time. He was fun but more of a meme character than anything else.

>dialog gains additional thirsty comments if player is a female
>dialog turns hostile if they're male
>won't even talk or address males at all if there's a female character in the group during co-op
Ruined it with the regular verbal reminders instead of keeping it in just her tone or actions. But this is borderlands which couldn't do anything in moderation to begin with.

Strictly from a play standpoint, TPS felt like a breasth of fresh air over 2. It cut down on a lot of the bullet sponges and slog that made 2 so obnoxiously tedious to finish. Writing wise? There was nothing memorable about it.

Attached: 1378092255026.png (600x269, 61K)

Slam damage was fun but tps was for sure the weakest entry. i'm very glad it introduced cryo damage though.

I honestly wouldn't have minded her if she wasn't constantly flirting with any and all females in the game. Like fuck, I get it, stop making that your entire personality.

Nothing really had the magic of 1's crazy gun generator. They constrained all the fun away.

How do I Krieg?

>Tfw you play athena
>Tfw you can hear springs speak directly into you vagina

STRIP THE FLESH!

SALT THE WOUND!

Athena, Wilhelm, and Jack are great.

rip and tear

>use special ability
>smack things

Go down melee tree, then just kinda whatever tree you want after that.
Also be in love with Maya like he is.

Do action skill and go wild

The accents were so fucking annoying that it caused me to quit the game half way through

>Moon Zoomies
>O2 / Oz pun
>the brief moment where i had only heard Wilhelm's lore tape and imagined that it was the only short one
literally all the other writing is shit

What about the cowgirl chick?
I like revolvers.

tell everyone of your huge hand

In terms of weapons and characters maybe not 2 had the best with sal and maya
In terms of looks, gore, balance in weapons yes

Did Krieg win the Mayabowl? Will they give best boy best girl?

>weapons are bad
>vs weapons are good

I never played her because I figured she was just a less tanky Salvador.

I dunno. Athena's backstory Logs were neat.

I want Nisha to sit on my face

knowing Gearbox Maya will either come out as a lesbian or get BLACKED in BL3

of course.

I fucking hope so.

I love Borderlands deeply, but you're not going to ever find decent discussion of it on Yea Forums. The lack of pandering to straight white males makes the hivemind angry.

I thought the environments were bland, which is fine I guess since it takes place on a moon, but coming off BL2 that had a nice variety of places further increased by the DLC it felt really boring
I do prefer the gamellay of TPS, since it doesn't have slag, but I don't like any of the characters, although I wouldn't count that against the game since the skill tree is the best it's ever been

I thought I read somewhere that they made her asexual? Which is odd because they actually had a cute setup with her and Krieg that I think no one would have opposed if they went with it.

Post your mains in every BL game:
>BL1
Roland/Brick
>BL2
Gaige/Salvador
>TPS
Wilhelm/Athena

Speaking of nishia every time she opened her mouth i wanted to mute the audio.
All of her lines try so hard to be edgy Jesus Christ it was so bad
Imo even worse than springs. the only thing saving her was being fun to play.

TPS felt like it should have been DLC. They managed to make 4 new vault hunters with new skills but there's just nothing for them to really do. Game is unmemorable.

>Mordecai/Brick
>Krieg/Zer0
>Athena/Nisha

>bl1
mordecai
>bl2
zer0
>tps
athena
>bl3
probably flak

What a goddamn toxic character
I wish I could shot her in the face because she's annoying as fuck

I don't, I love fun, which is why I don't like TPS

>BL1
Lilith and Brick
>BL2
Krieg and Zer0
>TPS
Claptrap and Jack

get a gf to play maya and res you for insta big boi

Brick
Salvador
Timmy

I'm normally a tank man through and through, but the prequels tank classes just turned me off; athena looked too shield and melee focused, and wilhelm just looked kind of "meh" with his pets.

I'm queer and Janey was annoying as fuck. Also she sexually harasses Moxxi and it's played as a joke BECAUSE SHE'S GAY LOL. Hope she got killed off and won't be appearing in BL3. Athena deserves better.

Rolan, Axton, Wilhelm.
Honorable mention to Gaige and Jackdouble.

I'm curious about this too. I've played like 3 hours years ago. What's wrong with Claptrap?

>BL1
Mordecai
>BL2
Salvador/Krieg
>TPS
Wilhelm

That was from Anthony's Twitter which means fuckall to Borderlands canon now.

Wait what. Athena dated scooter, didnt she? Not gay.

>BL1
Mordecai
>BL2
Axton
>TPS
Jack Doppleganger is still hands down my favourite Vault Hunter.
>BL3
I'm leaning towards Muscle Witch or Retired Batman Jensen.

Attached: Zane-the-Operative-Borderlands-3-Character.jpg?fit=1920%2C1080&ssl=1.jpg (1920x1080, 464K)

He's a joke character.
His action skill is completely random and can potentially be totally useless or fuck over your team if you get the wrong one. Still entertaining to play though.

till the 10th of april according to steam, but I think it's a misdate because the actual pack doesn't have a date, just the individual games. So I would get it before the third.

His action skill was a gamble, literally. Random effects from a pool of options that varied in usefulness and some that were genuinely harmful to itself and allies; like forcibly jamming every player's guns.

Who is Timmy?

It was supposed to be. BL2 reached a cap on the older consoles for how much DLC could be added.

Okay, that's a tad strange. Action skill aside, how are his trees?

Handsome jack's body double's real name is timmy.

Jack's body double.

>One hundred hours into the game
>still doing fetch quests to find parts for my suit as the tutorial takes up 99% of the game
>lesbian character comes into the mic to rant for like 5 minutes just to say "get this thing for this other thing"
>only hetero male left in the series calls me to inform me that Feminism is Awesome and Badass

Legitimately the only series on the market where the agenda pushing ruins the game itself. Absolutely unplayable. Hopefully 3 is more like 1.

Attached: 1546499907601.png (1092x1405, 1.03M)

First game was fun.

from what i heard from a friend who played the telltale borderland games janey and athena live together so at most we'll probably just here a slight mention of them both

>pre sequel had better skills n trees
>tales of the borderlands had best story

They better have hired people from those companies.

>do sidequests for exp bump
>You're gonna be jumping up and slamming down and I'll make motivational memes of them
Fucking
Christ.

How is Aurelia? I just got my girlfriend into Borderlands, and have her playing Gaige. I plan to do TPS after, and I know my gf likes snipers. I've never heard anyone talk about her. Why is this?

Bless Wilhelm and the absolute disgust he displays throughout that whole quest.

To be honest, Im just glad borderlands 3 is coming out soon and the hype train is chugging along
Its a comfy sort of hype, ya know?

Attached: DjPHmDbUYAEqsS8.jpg large.jpg (404x404, 39K)

So what's everyone's thoughts on the gun manufacturers and how do you hope they change them up?

I think about half of them are in a good spot while the other half could use some serious look at.
Vladof is pretty solid, can't complain about it since it works well with virtually any gun but a sniper rifle.
Torgue is basically just there for the shotguns, but good GOD do the shotguns work. They could work on making its non-shotties a bit better.
Maliwan is cool but the ammo clip reduction is way too big IMO, ease up on the ammo cost a bit and its a solid manufacturer.
Hyperion is good for SMGs and that's about it, they need to either change its gimmick or get rid of its sniper rifles. Maybe increase its ammo capacity a bit too.
Tediore is one of the funnest and best manufactuers in the game, no changes.
Jakobs I hated, but some people like so I can't really comment too much.
Dahl is hot garbage, get rid of its burst fire please.
Bandits going away, thank god, worst manufacturer ever. Hopefully the children of the vault ones will be better.

Pretty good ironically.
Big dick damage if you go down the boomtrap tree, and some nice multiplayer support talents if you go down the middle tree.
He's totally playable and really powerful with the right build, its just that he's also really luck based too.

>Only hetero male left in the series
are you talking about torgue?

Weren't bandit rocket launchers pretty decent?

Absolutely. Skill trees in pre-sequel are much more fleshed out compared to 1 and 2. Fragtrap is some of the most fun I've had playing a co-op game with my friends, with his chaotic abilities and all.

I always stay away from Hyperion and Tediore.

Her sniping tree is good, cyro tree is pretty good but her other is coop based with only 3-5 skills out of an entire skill tree usable for a solo player.

No it fucking wasn't.

im still pissed years later

Attached: 1533172460375.png (600x638, 497K)

Agreed.

Attached: No.png (1100x1530, 516K)

My brother and I did the exact same thing. He still laments Bloodwing. I salute my fallen boy.

She's good for multi but shit for solo.

not really, the other manufacturers were pretty strong (Tediore gave you an extra rocket pretty much outright with the throw of the launcher, and maliwans were insane for elemental effects)

>not just playing your guy to throw your weapon after 1 shot everytime

Bloodwing was an absolute pain in the ass to fight against the first time through.
Jack's line was pretty fucking good though.
>Oh, now I remember. EXPLOSIIIIIVE

Athena and Janey are dating in tales

With the right dialogue choices you can even convince them get married

Best mission was still the rocket scientist
youtube.com/watch?v=MRrUb4F2B-Q

unfortunately no. australia and marin 2k always get the short end of the stick. they also made bioshock 2, (the far superior bioshock)

only thing memorable was the BILLIBONG WITH PURPLE LIGHT. if you see my friend he owes me a drink. or at least i think it was a him, could have been a her.

JUMBUCKS DON'T EVEN EXIST

god i hope not

Vladof, and Maliwan have always been based.
Jakobs was based in BL1 but trash in BL2.
Torgue was trash in BL1 but based in BL2/TPS.
Hyperion has shit commons but based legendaries.
Tediore and Bandit/Scav/S&S are meh.
Atlas and Eridian weapons were based in BL1 and its a shame they're gone.
Dahl has always been shit tier.

BEST BORDERLANDS GIRL RIGHT HERE

IF YOU DISAGREE CONSIDER SUICIDE BECAUSE YOU'RE A DISCORD TRANNY

Attached: mayabl3.png (1915x969, 1.41M)

The lowgrav stuff was fun and it had the best selection of playable characters. Everything else about it was sub-par, tho.

fpbp

Cryo was good. A worth elemental addition, and INCREDIBLY superior replacement for slag.

Wait, is she sporting a robot arm now? I thought it was just a sleeve, but look at the joint.

>Bandit
I enjoyed their SMGs and felt their Shotguns were pretty solid too. I didn't use much outside of those two categories from them, though
>Dahl
Abysmal, just absolutely abysmal all 'round
>Hyperion
Like Bandit, I used their SMGs and Shotguns but largely avoided everything else
>Jakobs
Was my favorites in BL1 and still my all round favorites in BL2 because of that crit damage bonus.
>Maliwan
All good but felt mandatory since elements from any other manufacturer was just gimping yourself outside of a handful of exceptional uniques or legendaries
>Tediore
I felt their gun performance was underwhelming, like they tried to encourage their gimmick to a point where using them for anything but their gimmick was a waste of time. Fastball is my favorite grenade mod from the franchise, though
>Torgue
I found their generics underwhelming because of the slow projectiles, but their uniques were great
>Vladof
I have no opinions one way or another about them, really.

Absolutely. It's a shame that it doesn't seem like either DLC character is going to be back for 3.

They had a gaige voice over for one of the tps dlcs so I still think there is hope that they will appear.

Is her normal arm, the suit looks weird there.

Attached: 1553728580796.png (1518x1408, 3.79M)

So who are you lads playing in 3?
The new siren seems as close as we will get to Krieg in terms of gameplay.

vladof is the every mans weapon comrade

No.

Flak without a doubt. I love having pets and shit.

why cant corrsive go back to just being a weaker dot but less enemies resist to it and a minor dmg buff like slag

bl1 elements all had there place in the game

That being said I would make no changes to any of the current manufacturers except for buffing Jakobs, Dahl, and maybe Tediore.

Playing Borderlands just made me crave Borderlands 2

LIKE IF YOU ARE NOT ANTHONY BURCH

probably the dude with a mech that he calls down. I like tank type characters (loved gunzerker) but dislike melee.

he looks to be the tankiest of the group while still using guns.

It's not looking good for Torgue in BL3 though. Haven't seen a Torgue gun in the trailer, hopefully something pops up in the next announcement.

they can't NOT have the torgue guns-- People really (as a whole) loved torgue shotguns and everyone absolutely LOVED Mr. Torgue as a character.

Too bad Jack had to be a little bitch and kill off Wilhelm.

I'm seriously torn between both females. On one hand, you have a pilotable fucking mech, the other you have femJotaro Kujo.

The one with the mech skill is the girl wearing the combat helmet.
Apparently other people can drive it around though.

youtube.com/watch?v=tklMDFbQXxM

This guy hasn't been wrong once with leaks, and clearly does have insider info. any thoughts on the new company gimmicks?

I dont like the jacobs, a bullet coming back just for headshots sounds great for gameplay but that doesn't make sense and is kind of retarted, and atlas gimmick is kind of lame too

Jakobs needed something changed at the end of the day though, it was terrible in 2. I get the idea behind it, but it was annoying as hell.

There's some neat ideas for the new Vault Hunters, but I want to see the skill trees before I make up my mind for certain. A bit weird for a main title to not have a turret character but I'll see what the mech girl can do.
