Am I supposed to be repeating bosses in missions I've already cleared for better drops?

Depends on if you're trying to make a full set of gear. If it's your first playthrough, no.

Depends. Which Way of the _____ iteration are you?
In my experience it's not needed to farm equipment until you reach Way of the Wise.

>yfw playing both sekiro and nioh alongside each other
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

im still on my first playthrough, no way what "way of the ____" is yet

>mfw seeing filesize
worth it?

Yoooooooouuuuu *bell chime*
Sekiro is harder but the combat is leagues better in Nioh

Ah, ok. Way of the _____ is the name the game uses for its NG iterations. For example, Way of the Wise is NG+++.
Don't listen to the people saying that you can't finsh the game without creating a meta meme build / armor set; you only need to pick up the weapons and armor with the highest ATK / DEF values to keep your damage and defense going along with your story progress and learn how to fight.

Depends.
If you're a Soulsborne fan, no.
If you're a fan of action or action rpg games, absolutely.

What criteria should I use to choose the appropriate armor type? Is this like souls where heavy armor is worthless?

And is the DLC good?

Then definitely not. You should be worrying about gear at all other than using what you want.

That's for when you have nothing else to do in the game and if you still care about build autism.

Pick a playstyle and use what you want that fits that playstyle

>Is the DLC good?
Yeah. It's three new regions, new enemies and bosses. Pretty much like a Souls expansion.

Thanks. Last thing though, how do I use this skill? I can't figure it out. Already googled and saw people saying you need to guard after guard breaking someone but nothing happens.

You need to guard then attack.

Not if you're planning to play the DLC. You'll need +X divine armor for them.

Lad, you're going to be getting more equipment than you can carry, and selling the excess by the truckload after each mission. Don't worry about farming anything.

I know everyone says you don't have to make builds until NG++++++++++++++++++, but grinding and min maxing can be fun too (at least it is for me),

you might want to check out this video youtube.com/watch?v=g-_EhizbT6g

this one is pretty easy to make, but it will make your character much stronger, and the game might not be as hard anymore, so it's up to you.

I'm not talking about replacing purples for divine when the time to play the DLC comes (and that's something OP will do naturally).
I'm talking about the people claiming that you require a particular armor set + build + sloth abuse to beat the game, due to their favorite youtuber breaking the game in half with them.

This.
Sell whites, yellows and blues, disassemble purples for material.

after you knock a human off-balance with a perfect block, quickly hit block again

wait I'm talking about Backwave II
I don't know how Tempest on its own works, you want to get Backwave II

It's the same as parrying in Sekiro only it also has a followup. Just press the block button from neutral as the enemy attack hits, you will do a perfect block. To do the follow up you need to quickly let go of the block button and tap it again while the block visual effect is active.

TDLR: Tap block twice at the perfect time.

Forgot to say, the way to tell if you did a perfect block is the enemy will stumble.

>Tap block twice
why does everyone say you need to tap twice?
I usually just spam l1l1l1l1l1l1l1 whenever I think the enemy is about to attack, and I deflect the attack with a 80% chance.

Like i said, it's like parry in Sekiro

I said twice because those are the only inputs that count regardless of how much you spam.

oh, sorry, I was actually asking about Sekiro, I beat Nioh a while ago and didn't try to deflect much in that game

It has less active frames in Nioh so you either need to get luckier or be more precise.

>pc bluescreened last time i played nioh
>no bluescreens since
i want to go back but i dont trust it
it doesnt run very well either
