How did you setup your controls for Dante in DMC5? I used Steam to make these for Dante so that I don't have to separately switch styles. It works very well.

Where's the Royalguard, bitch

is royal guard really needed to be good at this game? that kinda sucks, if that really is the case and if i just cant trickster out of everything to get an s rank, then...

You don't need it. Shit is brainlet mode next to the Faust hat.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS HOLY SHIT AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Default for Dante is the right choice.

Royal guard is amazing in 5, it's your most powerful tool and you don't even get punished for trying to learn it.

FPBP

You can bind style moves to individual buttons and use them without switching styles?

it switches styles instantly

don't get punished? i end up being attacked 99% of the time, i only got it to work 2 times ever, never on any of the boss fights, you get hurt when you try to learn it when you are pressing B as much as you can so you won't get hurt.

How did you do that

After they gave Dante baseline air rave with the Dante sword, I barely even fucking use Swordmaster anymore. My default stance is Royalguard, Trickster for when I'm panicking, Gunslinger for variation. I think I go to Gunslinger to unga bunga when there's one target left and that's it.

do you have the reactions of a slug or something

This on DMC5 when?

I use default controls as always for DMC games.

I meant go to Swordmaster to unga bunga, also Trickster's good for when you take damage in midair to land on your feet, I discovered that by accident.

What the fuck, really? Round Trips is insane.

Swordmaster has fun moves on everything but sword

That's a pretty ugly set up dude.

Honestly, for moving around the battlefield and doing cool-looking moves, it works great. RG is cool but feels like of overpowered.

I don't want to admit it, because it's where I get most of my SSS's from and how I even play on DMD at all, but Royalguard really does make things too easy. Especially the counter you can actually fucking hold for about five seconds with no timing required.

It just doesn't look efficient to me. My set up would probably look weird to others also but it's what I've been using since 4.

Using Steam's controller settings you can pretty much do anything you want.

Try guarding right before you get hit instead of pressing B as much as you can so you won't get hurt. The window for a perfect parry is quite generous, and if you don't hit the sweet spot, you guard anyway at the cost of some DT. In fact at the cost of DT, you can even just hold B to guard without having to do any timing at all. Once you've filled a red segment, you can hold B and back to put Dante in a counter-attack stance which lasts for about four seconds, wherein whoever next hits you will be counter-attacks. It's really strong and easy to use, you should definitely try getting into it.

Do you not have opposable thumbs?

I don't know if you got that idea from me but I did nearly the exact same thing.

Except I put DT on D-Up, Gunslinger on LB, and Royalguard on LT. Where's your Royalguard, user?

It takes a little macro work, unfortunately (it would have made an excellent in-game option and easy to implement), but yes.

Default. Like every DMC game I play. It just works.
