TP is garbage with no redeeming value, it does nothing to make it unique like every other 3D Zelda as it's just a souless 1-1 clone of OOT. It's painfully mediocre in every way, and the awful graphics make it unplayable to anyone who isn't a Nostalgiafag. Worst 3D Zelda by far
Twilight Princess is a pretty by-the-numbers Zelda game that hits the right marks despite significant flaws.
Wind Waker is just awful.
TP was literally what everyone was asking for
Graphically WW is much better
Gameplay wise WW is complete dogshit so TP wins by default
Yeah & it was a commercial failure, it sold horribly in Japan.
>it's just a souless 1-1 clone of OOT
in what sense?
>I think they're about on par
How? one is a unfinished boring slog through a empty world that is frustratingly slow to navigate and the other is the pinnacle of of the linger 3D Zelda games.
How are they about them same?
nice trips.
I think I prefer TP, but only marginally. Their approaches are extremely differently, essentially being polar opposites to on-another.
WW is childlike, emotive (Link being the most expressive he's ever been), cartoonish, and more boundless.
TP is mature (or at least tries really hard to be), grandiose, character-driven, and esoteric.
TP focuses its gameplay more on dungeons - with some excellent ones including lakebed and snowpeak. WW focuses on exploration and trying to feel more open. WW is held back, though, by the hardware limitations of the time...as well as development constraints, resulting in large amounts of cut content. TP feels more "complete" of a package, but can feel derivative of OoT and its overworld somehow managed to feel even more empty than WW's oceans, at least in my opinion.
Aesthetically, WW absolutely wins, but for gameplay TP is better - with WW feeling aimless and bland most of the time. TP embarrasses itself with how hard it tried to be mature and edgy, though.
>Gameplay wise WW is complete
Sometimes I wonder if WWfags have even played their game
>reading comprehension
We already decided this awhile ago

actual retard
Both are exceptionally mediocre OOT retreads and propped up only by tasteless retards who:
1. Need to feel special by not agreeing with the (deserved) mainstream praise for ALTTP, OOT, MM, or BOTW
2. Are too zoomer to appreciate the myriad of quality 2D Zelda titles
>Their approaches are extremely differently, essentially being polar opposites to on-another.
I really need to proof-read before posting
Journos already officially ranked the Zelda games. You cannot refute this
the game in trailer 1 is what everybody asked for. nobody asked for werewolves and turgid twilight bullshit. nobody asked for a four hour tutorial. nobody asked for wishy washy character design. people wanted ocarina of time 2. they got some other weird shit
No.... we wanted a darker Zelda like OoT, sure. The game still needed to be good. TP's story is horrible.
One, Zelda doesn't sell well in Japan in general. The west has always liked it much more. Two, prior to BotW TP was the best selling Zelda. Three, the reason TP happened was because WW and FSA were commercial disappointments.
I never completed tp because the artstyle is terrible
>four hour tutorial
The intro is not 4 hours
For someone with metal difficultly it might be so I can see why you think that, bur for most its 2 hours at most
>Two, prior to BotW TP was the best selling Zelda
false. the original was the best selling prior to BotW.
i hated the bloomy shit but other than that i thought the art direction was fine.
>Wind Waker.
Only Zelda game I had any interest for in the first place.
>Journos
Hi WWcuck
>souless 1-1 clone of OOT.
I too remember when Link and Midna had to use the Ocarina of Time to stop Zant.
TP gives out rupees like candy to the point of being annoying. it takes way too long to get the biggest wallet upgrade and even then it only holds 1000. upgrades should've been 1000, then 5000 like wind waker.

This place has terrible taste I don't know why you'd go here for advice.
Swap minish with Zelda II, shove BOTW down to B.
>fine
it's as if they did everything possible to make the ugliest characters
TP, and honestly I don't understand how it's even an argument. I get seeing TP as a middling retread of OoT but you know what, at least it's even that good. WW is an absolute joke of a game by traditional Zelda standards with poor dungeons and tedious pacing/sidequesting and it doesn't even live up to its seeming ambitions with its open sea sailing. The story and art are nice but I'm at a genuine loss as to what this game, as a video game, is actually good at. TP is paint by numbers 3D Zelda but at the very least it's competent at being that. WW is just a mess of a rushed game that has nothing but aesthetics going for it.

What the fuck is this ordering?
The thing about Wind Waker is that it is and feels unfinished. I love the sailing and the world, but there's really not much to it. I was really disappointed when i realized that huge map wasn't really hiding anything in particular
I like both but prefer TP.
The sailing in WW gets a bit boring and the dungeons aren't as good as TPs.
TP is automatically better just by being a finished product.
Is this tge fucking paralympics?
ww has the best 3D zelda combat by far.
Which game had better bosses?
Wind Waker is a heavily flawed but still enjoyable game. And at least when it comes to the original Gamecube version, the visuals are fantastic and hold up. I'd give it a 6/10.
Twilight Princess is mostly an awful game that takes everything bad about Eiji Aonuma as a game designer and ratchets it all the way up to 12. The visuals are hideous and have aged like milk. About the only redeeming quality is that a few of the dungeons and bosses are really fun, but a few fun dungeons doesn't matter when the rest of the game is an unenjoyable shitpile with loads of filler and tutorials and dialogue sequences. Twilight Princess was godawful on release and even worse now, if not for Skyward Sword being a straight up abomination and insult to the very medium of video games itself, it would be the worst 3D Zelda. 3/10.
Both suffer some pretty shit padding. However, Twilight Princess has a baller final fight and great dungeons, which is more than I can say for Wind Waker.
Wind Waker is definitely more comfy and has a better OST/atmosphere and an intro that's not a slog but that's really all it has going for it. You're just going to get a ton of people saying "but, m-muh childhood!" because Windwaker was their first Zelda and Gamecube was their first console.
How well do they run on Cemu?
spotted the Arin Hanson
2D Zelda is overrated as fuck, ESPECIALLY Link to the Past.
I feel TP would have been better if they kept to Zant being the main antagonist and moved ganondorf's whole thing to a different game
>it would be the worst 3D Zelda. 3/10.
Nah, that's WW for moments like this and the rushed endgame/shit dungeons/overworld that are never made up for.
I've completed TP HD on cemu. haven't played WW past outset island, but it was fine.
I feel like some grand destiny is about to be fulfilled, this is like the eighth time I've seen 000 trips on Yea Forums today. Anyways, Wind Waker. Both are shitty and boring and have barren overworlds you spend too much time in. That being said, it only takes like an hour to properly get into WW, while TP's introduction shit takes like two and a half.
>an intro that's not a slog
>forgetting the stealth dungeon right after leaving home
Literally just played WW and TP HD back to back
Wind Waker is a fucking godawful Zelda game. It's fucking shit. I loved it as a kid but the dungeons are fucking horrendous especially the last two and the controlling others mechanic that makes up the last 1/3rd of them isn't fun.
Twilight Princess on the other hand, fucking masterpiece. Hated it and couldn't get past the Goron area when i played it on the original Wii years ago. Revisiting it without the odd control quirks and it's literally the Zelda game I wanted after playing Ocarina of Time. PLENTY of dungeons, fantastic presentation, feels like an actual evolution/"next-gen" OoT. Was a bit disappointed with the last two tools you get and te wolf stuff in the first few hours was poorly done but once you have control of it the rest of the game is just great.
Midna is also by far the best partner any Link's had besides the fairy from MM, was an actual character.
Unrelated but just started BotW and i hate how they handle the shrines in this game, it feels very disjointed from the overall world. However i find the open world relaxing.
only the HD version has that shit.
TP takes its parries and turns them into freely usable tech and the N64 Zeldas had enemies with better AI to fight so in terms of swordplay that isn't true. WW does have strong item synergy in combat so its non-swordplay elements stand out, BUT then BotW became a thing and built upon WW's ideas there so it's no longer the best in that department either. At least its swordplay isn't an absolute joke like BotW's is so I'd say it runs about even with that game.
>TP's introduction shit takes like two and a half.
>taking two fucking hours just to get wolf form
Fucking retard
I was one of those 8 year olds who was angry about Wind Waker and going WTF IS THIS CARTOON SHIT THIS IS NOT LIKE THE SPACEWORLD DEMO REEEEEEEE and didn't even play WW until years later, when I was pleasantly surprised that it was mediocre and not trash.
Twilight Princess meanwhile, I almost cried when the E3 trailer dropped and I would watch the Nintendo Power DVD trailer almost daily. Then the game came out and it was a massive pile of shit. Fuck Twilight Princess.
WW, somehow. TP's only actual decent bosses are Zant and Ganondorf, MAYBE Blizzeta at a stretch. The rest are all bark and no bite, spectacles that are dead before they even start. That said, TP absolutely has the better final boss, WW's is just short of being on rails.
>it was mediocre and not trash.
It was though.
I think TP is better.
I love TP's aesthetic, and love the sword skills you can get in it, and I think some of the dungeons and its items are really fucking cool, like the snowy mansion is a really cool dungeon, and the beyblade and ball and chain are really cool items and fun to use. Though TP does have a pretty slow and boring start, and the early wolf segments can be a pain.
WW just doesn't have the same appeal to me in its style, dungeons, or items and I feel like WW is really bogged down by the Triforce hunt. Shit is too much of a hassle to bother with, and I've ended up playing WW three separate times all the way up to the Triforce hunt and I have a good time almost the whole way, but the Triforce hunt slams it to a halt and then I drop it again.
i remember seeing early TP stuff in 2004. It seemed like the wait was gonna be forever. It's weird that such a humdrum game was so hyped.
it's funny because the wait for SS and BotW were even longer.
Both are masterpieces. I like TP more, though.
Not my fault you're a retard that falls into a vegetative state and can't keep track of time. I guess I can't blame you, your brain kinda shuts off as you mindlessly herd goats and learn how to use a slingshot for 50 minutes.
The Triforce Hunt is infinitely better than TP's garbage "Welcome to the new town, spend 30 minutes as a wolf collecting bugs!" bullshit.
That takes like what, 20 minutes tops to get through?
Twilight Princess literally makes you spend 2 hours or so doing farmhand bullshit and watching cutscenes before you finally get to dungeon shit.
>2D Zelda is overrated as fuck
I too enjoy traveling empty wide open spaces, completing pointless tasks to progress through the game, fighting bosses with obvious weak points, and have more limitation on the order in which I can complete dungeons.
See, I didn't fall into the hype trap for TP and ended up loving the game. I never disliked WW for its visuals or sailing, I just thought it was a subpar Zelda in general. The parts that people hated about it back then are the parts that sucked the least about WW.
The only 2D Zelda that is truly a masterpiece is the NES original.
Everything else is either boring and forgettable or pretty fun. I do love Seasons and Link's Awakening. But I will never understand how the fuck Link to the Past got so hyped.
>mindlessly herd goats and learn how to use a slingshot for 50 minutes.
>taking an hour for the simplest task you can imagine
How slow of a person are you?
Games in general were more hyped back then though. I mean Halo 3 had an unbelievable buildup and lines building in front of stores for like 7 hours before they opened.
Nowadays literally nobody cares about Halo and I'd be surprised if Fortnite zoomers even know what it is.
you can skip cutscenes
>The Triforce Hunt is infinitely better than TP's garbage
Thing is the TP wolf sections lead to the meatier and better half of the game which make up for it. WW's Triforce Hunt is at the end and there's nothing to make for it. Fuck Tingle and fuck treasure charts.
> All of the TP apologist in this thread.
TP is such safe, mediocre garbage compared to WW. The setting alone makes it more of value to gaming than OOT 2. Any gameplay flaws of WW are negligible at best and hardly enough to detract from the experience as a whole.
Nope, original had it too.
>Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass
>Above anything let alone 4 swords adventures
Shit list
I honestly dislike TP, except Midna is hot. It feels like budget OOT, but it's trying too hard. WW is comfy and fun.
>Any gameplay flaws of WW are negligible at best and hardly enough to detract from the experience as a whole.
>getting strong armed by Tingle for Triforce Hunts is a negligible flaw
Fuck WWfags
No, the Triforce hunt is much worse.
At least TP's wolf segments have you searching in a restricted area and once you find a bug you just simply kill it and you get a tear of light, then just go back once you have them all.
In WW you do all the fucking dungeons only to find that you need to piece together the Triforce, and now you are tasked with going all over THE ENTIRE OCEAN to find Triforce charts, yes charts, not pieces, but fucking charts which require you to go back to Tingle, and then pay him for each individual chart, so you can then go all over the ocean again, to throw your little fucking grappling hook down into the water in very specific locations in order to get the actual Triforce pieces.
I've never played TP (apart from like the first five minutes), but I have played WW. I have, however, seen speedruns of TP, so I've seen the whole game basically.
WW is my favourite of the two, but TP still looks quite good. But yeah, I'm not a huge fan of TP's art style. To be honest, I think all of them after OoT have a wank art style - even MM, which as we know, basically just looks like an OoT romhack.
the funny thing is TP did a similar thing in hyrule castle twice. one with the boomerand puzzle outside and one with the lantern inside. the game literally shows you the solution to a puzzle that otherwise could only be solved by trial and error because they're not intuitive.
Did you even play the game?
Better than collecting bugs in some shit form. At least the Triforce hunt gives you the opportunity to explore the world. The only shit part about is dealing with Tingle.
Even without the triforce hunt you're comparing WW's 3 "ok" dungeons against TP's good-to-meh dungeons
Everything from the Tower of the Gods or whatever on in WW is some of the worst level/dungeon design ever in a Zelda game. Even SS is better and that game's more flawed than all the other entries. 3 Dungeons and a good Link/Zelda do not make the game acceptable.
Wind Waker literally has fucking nothing in it
it's an empty game
I wonder if Wind walker was complete with more difficult enemies and bosses how would people’s tune change?
I tried Link's Awakening DX recently and I don't get why it's so hyped up.
maybe I didn't get far enough, but I beat the first dungeon and nothing had gripped me in the slightest.
Personally I like Twilight Princess a lot more. Wind Waker is good for the first few hours but the second half of the game is very repetitive since you have already seen all the major islands by that point.
Why is Phantom hourglass so low?
Fucking D pad austists
>Better than collecting bugs in some shit form. At least the Triforce hunt gives you the opportunity to explore the world
It's really not, especially considering this is so far in the game. TP makes up for its hunt with the rest of the game. In WW this is your big moment; not a cool dungeon, a complex quest, no just giving money to Tingle and picking up shit with your claw.
Fuck off
its overrated, but still a nice cute little portable zelda. Minish Cap is better
WW is literally unfinished so TP wins by default
SS has the best dungeons in the series. The Divine Beasts are also fantastic, but for a completely different reason than the other dungeons.
TP's best dungeons are Lakebed and Snowpeak. Arbiter's Grounds and Forest Temple are also alright.
WW has the Forbidden Woods, Dragon Roost and the Earth Temple as its very good dungeons. Wind Temple is also pretty good, but its music is obnoxious and really grating after an extended period.
I honestly don't think SS had a single bad dungeon. They're all great. The only one that isn't outstanding like the rest is the Earth Temple.
SS and WW were my favorite Zeldas before BOTW came out, so maybe I'm a bit biased.
been playing PH for the first time recently, I'm not a fan of the controls but honestly that's not the real problem with the game. The main issue with it is that it's extremely repetitive and bland, even the soundtrack repeats the same dungeon and generic village music in multiple areas. Also, you literally do the same dungeon (at least) 5 times over...fucking why? who thought it was a good idea to focus the game on 1 dungeon like this that you regularly have to re-do? It's a chore
>SS has the best
Stop reading right there.
TP for all the great shortstack work
>TP makes up for its hunt with the rest of the game
With the exception of the ice dungeon, TP is bland as fuck. At least the Triforce Hunt you'll explore a island resort home with a re-dead in the basement, probably fight a giant squid and find a ghost ship. At least that stuff is unique.
TP? TP is so creatively bankrupt that it reused the Poe Sisters gimmick from OOT's forest temple.
SS has the best
>music
>art style
>characters
>dungeons
>story
>Link, although BOTW Link is a close second
>HD in the title
?
>At least the Triforce Hunt
At least nothing, the Triforce Hunt was a terrible way to cap off the end of the game. There's no fun in something when it forces you to do stuff you really don't want to do. Like the bug hunts, like this. And Nintendo knows this because they had to shorten them both. Hell even Aonuma came forward to apologize for the Triforce Hunt because it was that bad.
>TP
>Crappy filler
>Sometimes ugly but mostly alright
>Actually finished
>WW
>Crappy filler
>Timeless art style
>Obviously unfinished
>>story
Opinion automatically in the trash.
Replayed them both recently (HD versions), and I gotta say TP is better aside from it´s awfully slow start.
WW is too easy.
Fuck me, the game description of WW said 2003.
youtube.com
I don’t know
I still liked the game though it’s a bit dated being over 12 years old
I think about equal.
TP has good dungeons. WW has better everything else, especially combat.
Skyward Sword is legitimately underrated, but it's shortcomings still keep it from being close to TP, OoT and MM. I personally enjoyed it more than WW as well.
Skyward Sword reused the same areas three times, which was cheap, but it had by far some of the most interesting and fun tools to use.
I hate it because of the story and what it meant for the other titles.
What Zelda game has a better story, then?
SS is the best, followed by BOTW and WW.
they both suck
end of debate
the only truly good zelda games are OoT, ALTTP, MM and MC
the rest can go to the trash bin as far as im concerned
I agree it's placement could have been better as it does slow the story's momentum, but Wind Waker's actually climax with Ganon is good enough that it never affected me. It does suck, no doubt, but it wouldn't be so bad if wasn't for the bureaucracy in dealing with Tingle which the HD port does remedy some what.
>SS is the best, followed by BOTW and WW.
>BOTW
>story, best anything
Other than WW, which is shoddy at best because the story only gets good at the end, this opinion is worthless than trash.
I'm honestly biased towards SS because it was the first Zelda I ever played. I've since gone back and beaten all the 3D ones several times over, but it'll always have a special place in my heart for being the game that got me into the series. Only 2D game I've played is ALBW, though. Gonna get the LA remake, for sure.
TP is just as easy.
>an unfinished good game is worse than a finished bad game
You're doing a really good job at explaining yourself, user.
>especially combat.
explain
I know they were on a tight time budget which is a valid excuse but for me, who wanted more dungeons to make for the last ones, it was pretty bad. Even more upsetting is that they do the same thing in TP which doesn't make sense considering the poor reception of the previous quest. I blame this man.
I've only played NES Zelda's and SS/BOTW, however by far the worst thing in the series is attempt at a "timeline", and how basically every game is not a separate universe. Most limiting, old godess design definitely doesn't fit into every game.
That said I can't wait to play all of them and I'm sure I will enjoy them all, heard a lot of bad things about Skyward Sword but I found a lot of things about that are great
Not him, but 2 hours is still too long. Don't get me wrong, I liked TP but the tutorial stops me from replaying it.
Wind waker has a cool gimmick but a boring empty world
People call twilight princess a reskined ocarina of time and they are wright. It's ocarina as it should always have been, its the perfect Zelda game.
>and MC
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeh that's not even the best Capcom Zelda.
Link rankings:
God Tier:
Hero of Time
Hero of Wind
Mid Tier:
Hero of Twilight
Low Tier:
Skyward Sword's fuccboi that didn't even get a title
You're literally a fucking disgrace tier:
Hero of the Wilds
SS is very handholdy, but when it lets up, it's a lot of fun. Dungeons are fantastic and the level design is the best the series has ever been.
TP, WW, LA, and OoT had the best stories in the game.
SS gave us shit like Hylia and Demise.
i just watched the first trailer and its almost a totally different game
no bloom trash, no wolf trash, no twilight trash, it looked pretty good
how could they ruin the game so much? was it the aonuma curse? that guy needs to step down from his position
it has SOUL
My only problem with SS story is that Fi is the sword when it's like sentient. It's negated because she had almost no personality but really didn't like that. The twist with Ghiriam however was awesome as hell.
>was it the aonuma curse?
And Miyamoto. They fucked over Twilight Princess. The game would've been infinitely better in the hands of Koizumi.
wow
Honest question:
What version of Link do you prefer? For me it's WW because he a lovable oaf that I haven't seen in other Zelda games.
SS was my first Zelda, so I don't really have an issue with Hylia. It is kinda dumb that they went ahead and made her the "main" goddess of the Zelda mythos in the post-SS world, though (BOTW). It's like the other goddesses didn't even exist.
Demise is a cool villain in his game. Very intimidating. The fact that he retroactively makes the other Zelda villains some type of "curse" is dumb, but oh well.
Within the confines of its own game, SS has the best story. What it implies for the rest of the mythos doesn't matter.
>I haven't seen in other Zelda games.
You haven't seen his five other games?
SS Link got a name.
Pretty sure he was "The Goddess' Chosen Hero" or something like that throughout the game.
I said for most people
on a replay its only an hour (if your dicking around) until the first wolf part
its not that bad, just replay the HD version, its better in every way
I will say, after Syward Sword, Twilight Princess looked WAY better by comparison.
the last 3 console zeldas stories were shit
Wind Waker Link is just the most well-developed of all of them, even if you don't like the game he's still the best part.
Personally after replaying all the titles recently, I really like OoT/MM link. He doesn't get anywhere near the level of expression all his predecessor's get, however especially as a kid and in MM he has this tough thug air about him. Seeing him do flips in MM because he'd literally been through everything in OoT and clearly had prowess is a really cool detail.
OoT>BotW>MM>TP>SS>WW
why wont they just fucking retire? they must be in their 70s or 80s in the case of miyamoto by now
they literally havent done a single good thing ever since MM, which was actually made by koizumi IIRC
Having to wait an hour until the game starts sucks dick, though. Hell, I wouldn't even consider the game to have properly started until you're human again (when you get your tunic), since the Wolf area is still pretty much tutorial.
SS tutorial is also long, and I'm not forgiving that, despite taking up for it in every other post in this thread.
BOTW has the best tutorial, since it doesn't even feel like one.
Link isn't a loveable oaf in other Zelda games, he's just a wholesome young lad most of the time.
>What it implies for the rest of the mythos doesn't matter.
Mate it implies that Link has no will of his own and will forever be Hylia's whipping boy whenever evil will show up. He will never be an independent force like Zelda or Ganondorf.
Twilight Princess arguably has the best story among the 3D Zeldas, the characters actually have weight to them, not as good as how MM does it though.
I like TP because Midna makes my dick hard. Don't really need any other reason.
TP was the last one to put a balance between story and game. SS was too much story, shit game. BotW is too much gameplay, shit story.
TP's story is trash, reevaluate your taste my man
Yea, but he still has a reason for doing what he does and a personality. The events will happen, because of fate, but the method that that fate is brought out is different in every game. Like WW Link embarks to save his sister. He was fated to battle Ganondorf, but that doesn't diminish his motive for entering that fight, if you know what I'm getting at. Just like how SS Link went to save Zelda because she was his best friend.
Miyamoto's 66, Aonuma's 56.
Wind Waker is still one of the best games ever made. TP is forgotten besides Midna porn.
Wind waker is a shitty Zelda game, in fact, it's the worst, still it is a fantastic game, and one of the best gamecube titles.
TP, is the best Zelda game, most creative level design, fun mechanics, with the best lore/story/characters in a Zelda game. Of course, there are those who hate it's amazing art style because it's "ugly", that's why we got Botw, which plays things super safe with everything that doesn't have to do with the gameplay or music.
As music as I LOVE Botw, it's art style is insanely bland and boring, and the world/characters/lore are average, besides Zelda her self, which everyone hates, cause they want their stupidly strong independent womenz.
WW is one of the best games ever half-finished. It's a shit game because it isn't even a finished product, and it shows big time. Even Skyward Sword is better.
Remove OoT, ALLTP and MM from the history of zelda and the franchise literally becomes a fourth-rate adventure series nobody cares about
prove me wrong
BOTW's art style is very unique in comparison to TP's, which is just OOT with a grey filter over it.
>reevaluate your taste my man
Reevaluate your's first. TP's story was heads and should above WW or SS', especially BotW.
You are shit person that isn't finished. Your dad should have tossed you into a sock.
It's impossible to even say that. That implies that the Zelda games other than those are objectively bad, which is wrong. It's not like the DMC series, where half of them are godlike, and half of them are shit. Almost all Zeldas are, at worst, serviceable.
>BOTW's art style is very unique in comparison
It's pseudo Ghibli with cell shading out the butt.
>MIyamoto's 66
Literally been waiting for him to die any day now, had no idea he was that young
>remove games that defined core series aspects and it isn’t the same
Commit suicide retard
He's not wrong, Fallout NV, a clearly unfinished game is one of the best modern RPGs.
WW, TP, SS are trash
BotW is okay at best and gets extra points for having a zelda skin
its better than SS and BOTW, but that's not saying much. There was no emotional weight to TP. The only reason people like it is for impna's ass which is fine as long as you don't pretend the game was any good
TP had better dungeons boss battles and over world. WW only wins in the art style and maybe soundtrack department. I used to prefer wind waker but now I realize it’s only because of how nice the game looks and how much potential it really had, now that botw is out it really has no standing. Also TP’s sword combat has yet to be topped which really irks me
Nintendo missed the opportunity of a lifetime with Wind Waker HD. They could have added so much cut content and make Wind Waker a truly great experience, but all they did was make the already shitty moments that were done as filler and make them slightly less infuriating.
Truth
>There was no emotional weight to TP.
For me it was seeing Link go from farmer living bumfuck nowhere to slapboxing with Ganondorf on Hyrule Field. Plus it was great seeing him do shit like this.
>WW, TP, SS are trash
Over exaggeration but that's the norm here.
I guess this is what a stupid person pretending to be smart looks like lol
>cool seeing him ride a horse
this happens in a lot of games...
Why is the only argument for TP being good just indiscriminately shitting on WW? I've never seen a TPfag defend TP's actual design without crying or mentioning WW for no reason.
>ignoring the context for said pic
Darn.
I bet its something really epic
Here's me telling a WW fag how un-fun the bug hunts were in TP.
Here's me saying the game would be better in the hands of other people that are nor Aonuma or Miyamoto.
TPfags know the flaws in the game. And it's worse for them than WWfags because WWfags have the excuse of time, while TP was handled by poor management on Aonuma's part.
Link and the Bulbin joust over the Eldin Bridge at sunset. Did you not play thug aim?
It was in the original but them using it as an example of the quality of the game instead of the triforce charting is a fucking meme
Both are linear adventure games with slow combat. 3D Zeldas were novelties until BOTW
>until BOTW
That's just a novelty with a bigger box. It's the Fallout 3 of Zelda.
I've never played spirit tracks, phantom hourglass, triforce heroes, four swords, a Link between worlds, or Minish cap... But as far as the rest, I agree pretty much.
>Having to wait an hour until the game starts sucks dick
if you really hate the intro you can be in human form in 30 to 40 minutes but i don't get why you would
part of the game is exploring the world and talking to people so saying the intro is not part of the game has always seem like dog shit to me
gameplay =/= combat
Unironically Wind Waker, but TP because Midna gives me a boner strong enough to cut diamonds
I think they're really really close in quality, and if The Wind Waker had been given the development time it needed I think it would pull out ahead. Now, they had a second chance to fix the problems in the HD edition, but they didn't because that would take effort. There's no excuse for the lack of dungeons, the poor difficulty, the arduous Triforce Shard quest, the silly Zelda "twist", and the obviously rushed endings make an almost 9/10 fall just short of that.
Twilight Princess isn't perfect. It's only marginally better than The Wind Waker, and some of its flaws stick out further and worse than the previous game in the series. The nearly 40 minute unskippable tutorial, the Ocarina of Time sequel syndrome, shallow wolf combat and bug collecting, cringey story and failed attempts at "dark" moments, and locking Link's moves behind the Hero's Shade were very glaringly bad decisions. I also do not like this art style one bit, and might even be the weakest in the series next to the original game.
At the end of the day which you prefer is always going to come down to what you value more.
TP's strengths lie in the dungeons, setpiece moments and swordplay mechanics. TP is generally VERY good at looking and feeling like a grandiose fantasy quest, it kinda just feels like a bigger OoT and very little gets in the way of that. It has its problems for sure (poor item synergy, slow first third, few sidequests, low difficulty even for a Zelda) but its problems do ultimately pale in comparison to that of WW's, there's nothing there as damning as the Triforce quest brickwalling, uniformly underwhelming dungeon designs or the disappointment of discovering an island only to find that you can't do a damn thing there yet.
