yeah its still not trash, its just theres really only SO much material you can come up and the newer shit isnt really like the pioneering SP did back in earlier seasons. I do give them credit trying some risks like the continuity shit, I didnt care for it but I can appreciate spicing shit up.

But if this shit lasts like another 5-7 seasons I think we really might start hitting nu-simpsons tier.

They have passion but less in the show it seems, the games are Kino southpark humor.

The first 2seasons are a little basic, it was a lot of shock humor for the time but there’s some good classic episodes In there. The movie and season 3 until they hit 4th grade it finds its stride and then it’s several seasons of nearly no misses all great stuff. Around when chef dies and Mr garrison becomes mrs garrison there’s a drop off BUT there are still some very good episodes each season. Sometime around when Stan starts seeing everything as “shit” you can tell Matt and Trey are getting sick of the show a bit and most episodes consist of like a single joke they just keep repeating, it feels like they are happy they came up with something and stretched it out for a half hour just to get an episode done, again though here and there some good episodes pop up. Then in the last Few seasons here around when PC Principle shows up (Matt and Trey love this character for some reason) they start trying to do these season long story lines and you can just tell they aren’t thinking it through and it was OK for a bit but once garrison as trump shows up it becomes pretty bad as the last couple of seasons I hate to say we’re just bad. South Park has avoided this for a long time and has remained fairly fresh even if some quality was lost along the way for sure but it may finally be “bad” I give it a season or two to turn things around.

I'm sure the players have a personality, they just don't want to show YOU specifically.

20 and 21 are some of the shittier seasons because of the election. 19 also follows the serialization meme but isn't as bad. 22 put things a lot better back on track. Show is still far more watchable than Zombie Simpsons or Family Guy or other shit adult cartoons.

OP is right. MMOs back in the day used to be filled with colorful personalities and people, I think because back then the idea was to actually insert yourself and roleplay a little bit in this alternate reality. Fast forward 15 years and games like XIV are souless and people just run through other people in their mitigated austistic solo quest to make whatever number bigger or grind for whatever fashion item so they can sit idle in a populated area. It's kind of a parody and people who do it tend to be the bottom of the barrel of society.

It used to. Now with auto grouping and having everything instanced means you can hit the end game in most of them without ever opening the chat box. Hell in most of them you don't even need to group until the endgame. That shit was unheard of in the pre-WoW days.

But aside from that, yes I've noticed that too over the year. Many people that play MMOs are straight up addicted to the genre. I'll strike to up conversation about anything else, and 90% of the time it just goes no where. Asking what games they're looking forward to will just have them list off the next big MMO coming out.

OP here. This right here is exactly what I'm talking about. It is EXTREMELY HARD to keep a conversation going with these people, talking about almost anything outside the game just gets me an emote or an "XD" and then it immediately trails off. I never have this problem when meeting people in any other game, ever.

It's accurate. Mostly kids or people who don't actually play games, just this MMO. I would move on and stop playing them, even within gaming modern MMO communities are notorious for being full of mentally ill and depraved individuals.

This I just rewatched the entire series from ep 1 to the latest season and that's exactly how I feel. It's a great show to retain quality despite being on the air for so long.

once people figure out the game's secrets a guild of many people can become a very boring robotic group of worker ants. They usually have these inner cliques and dont bother talking to people much if they dont have too.

Some people use the game as an escape, dress up game, or some competitive grind etc.
So they dont really have to be nice to you, they probably think you might be weird or annoying for putting in more effort to communicate/connect.

It's really abrasive to what I would consider a "normal" approach to MMOs is, to explore and interact with other people dynamically in an alternate setting, I don't mean like in a roleplay sense, it's a pure sentiment. To play these games just to robotically go through the motions so you can increase your numbers just seems to pointless and as far as time wasting goes seems incredibly strange and depraved.

They have bad episodes, like anything else

its gotten worse with the whole season continuity thing. used to be if its a bad ep its just that ep. the next ep might be good. now its the whole season being shit cause theres all this buildup and unfinished eps for a mediocre or just bad conclusion.

Everybody learns the game that way. Its magical at first, everyones best memories of a game is when they were a noob or first started to enjoy times good times with a guild.

MMOs are nice but when you learn about things you cant undue it, so peoples priorities in the game or group can become different.

I suppose so I was disillusioned of the MMO magic after EQ. I'm a boomer obviously, but modern MMOs just seem to lack something more than nostalgia, they are such transient and vapid experiences even compared to my later experiences with EQ and XI.

modern mmos let the player do everything solo
used to be well this town is the only one with a forge and that other town is the place with the smelter so you have to run back and forth and travel between shit. youd meet people along the way who were going the same places. band together for protection etc. youd be with them on a journey. now fast travel pay money instantly teleport.
you can be the perfect crafter cook and warrior why would you ever team up or try to trade for things you couldnt produce yourself.
now every town has every amenity and is the same except looks. auction houses allow you to never talk to another player and still buy things. no more haggling or scamming or anything fun.
theres no reason to talk to others and even if you do thanks to instancing and only being able to run dungeons a couple times a day you will never see them again.
