Reminder that the cheaper Switch revision will look more like the Wii U gamepad. Eurogamer already said it would be sturdier than the original Switch.
Reminder that the cheaper Switch revision will look more like the Wii U gamepad...
if so I might get one, the wii u gamepad is comfy and can take a serious beating
Better not be going for a clam shell or rectangular design this time.
Yeah Wii U gamepad was sturdy as fuck
I thought they were making 2 different versions.
>lite which is a gamepad with no docking func
>pro which is a switch with a better display and more proc power.
It is. The lite version is what I'm taking about not the pro version
What the fuck? The Switch is that small? I thought it had to be larger than the wiiu
Yeah i hope the lite version is around 150 usd.
I was surprised too when I saw one at my buddies place. The controllers are hilariously small as well.
>Eurogamer already said it would be sturdier than the original Switch
>even larger Switch
Fucking hell.
The Gamepad was designed to fit the hand better, something the Switch can never pull off as well due to the nature of Joycons. It was also extremely light for its size, something the Switch will never be able to pull of due to having processing hardware inside it.
Yeah it is that small. That's why the Switch Lite is supposed to be bigger and more sturdy than the original Switch. So basically like the Wii U gamepad.
Anybody expecting the new high-end Switch to have a massively more powerful chip is going to be disappointed. The only change is going to be a die shrink which reduces the power draw, which means that it can run 'docked' mode even when its unplugged.
The smaller more rugged model, is just going to be passively cooled, and won't be able to enter the higher power actively cooled mode when docked.
Same but it's Nintendo so I'm expecting it to be atleast 200$
The original Switch isn't even that big.
Did anyone leaked the price for this gamepad only switch?
Isn't the gamepad heavier than the Switch?
>The smaller more rugged model
The lite version is supposed to be bigger.
For its handheld purpose the Switch is barely small enough to be called portable.
Meh. I always thought it was slightly bigger than the 3DS XL. The Wii U Gamepad was much bigger.
The 3DS XL barely fits a pocket and has a much more important feature: a clamshell design that protects the screens. A Switch with a carrying case requries a bag. The 3DS doesn't require such an accessory.
Yeah but I still don't find it that big. Now the Switch Lite will be big of it's going to be like the Wii U Gamepad.
>The lite version is supposed to be bigger.
They're talking about vs just the tablet portion of the Switch. Lite will still be smaller than the Switch + Joycons.
>Lite will still be smaller than the Switch + Joycons.
No the Lite will be as big as the Gamepad
>literally no source just pink-haired faggot "journalists" citing each other
yeah ok
>200 usd switch
Maybe i guess it depends on how many functionalities they can remove.
For comparison, the 3ds models are priced
>new 3ds xl: 200 usd
>new 2ds xl: 150 usd
>2ds: 80 usd
How much cheaper it would be?
True but it's to be as big as a gamepad so wouldn't that drive the cost?
Yeah i think there will have to be more removed func in addition to no-docing and cheaper components.
I agree. Though I wonder if it will be weaker than the original Switch
200$
hopefully they dont touch the processing power of the original switch.
its already the bare minimum for most games
Yeah though since this Switch lite is basically the Wii U gamepad, makes you wonder.
