Dropped Sekiro after being taking 2 hours to kill the 3rd mini-boss.
I killed Headless got a shitty buff item, little to no Exp and Sen and I quickly realized what kind of game it was. I'm not going to force myself to keep playing If every miniboss is going to take 45+minutes of perfect play to defeat.

Look I understand the challenge. I understand the appeal. But it just isn't for me. Besides I need to finish my DMC5 platinum. Got DMD all S left.

You guys have fun, I'm out

Attached: 1552260902936m.jpg (1024x576, 77K)

Anyone got the video or webm of the ogre's wrestling moves overlaid with Hulk Hogan's theme?
Can't find it for the life of me.

>SS

I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait for C96.

>dmcfags are casuals
What a surprise

Gr8 b8 m8 I r8 8/8

>From game
>getting doujin
there're like... what? 8 dark soul doujin?

Headless is an end game miniboss. Don’t blame the game for your lack of attention

demon's souls got a pure kino doujin

I gave the down syndrome monk the white 'flower' and he wants me to end it but I cant seem to do anything. I sorted out the kite for the midget not sure where that is leading either.
Just killed Ape fight #2 and I'm a bit lost on where to go next. There is some misty forest, some headless near some bell I havent rung and there is some purple hadoken guy underground.
The white snake instant killed me when I tried to jump over to him near the toxic lake so I stopped playing.

Pinwheel was my second boss in DaS because I went full retard and all these locations are starting to feel like catacomb levels so some direction would be welcome.

there's another kino one for darksoul 3
now at least we have an established protagonist so it should be better?

Use the fan tool on doofus monk

I've done all the steps to get the True ending thus far up to the Divine Child closing off the Inner sanctum. Any idea how long it takes for her to open the doors again? Or what triggers it?

he wants you to spirit him away. You need a new prosthetic for that.

He wants you to use the Shinobi Fan tool on him once you get it. Also, misty forest is probably where you should go next. Supernatural guys like Headlesses and the Hadoken man are all optional stuff

Thanks anons

the Hadoken man?

THIRD PHASEEE?????? THERE WAS A FUCKING THIRD PHASE JESUS FUCKING CHRIST

Attached: AAAAAAAAA.jpg (275x612, 25K)

So I beat the game and I still don't know what the fuck was up with the centipedes.

Am I a stupid fuck, or does the game just doens't tell you?

no idea
just warp to the sculptor and back till it does

how did wolf know about emma's sword skills before even seeing her use one?

nah it really doesn't you gotta guess
theory is that the centipedes form from parasites in the fountainhead palace pool which gives people something like half immortality.

guardian ape centipede is too fucking erratic but i believe i can beat him

>genichiro phase 3

Attached: methface.jpg (1280x961, 500K)

Game would be better if:

Demon Seed was default
Path of Hardship was default
Kanji warnings removed
Sprinting doesn't dash first
Gun Fort key removed.
Stealth Kill noise lessened so I don't go deaf.

I see, but how do the Senpou people get the parasites then?

Fuck I have to play the game and pay attention to the Senpou part.

don't give up skeleton
we believe in you

its really satisfying when you finally do

>Gun Fort key removed.
Game would be better if you couldn't progress through the game? What?

the water from the fountain head palace flows down all the way to senpu and even to the giant ape watering hole

that's how the big carp gets there if you the do the giant carp quest

keep close and attack all the time

How about... FOURTH PHASE FAGGET

I do wish path of hardship was default. I found the game easy in the second half but know that at times I just spammed parry without thinking of timing, and hardship debuff punishes that.

Would help replay value by lessening the linearity

What in the game tells you that it's an end game boss?

The miniboss you see near the dungeon who's got a ton of purple orbs around him, feels like playing Zangief vs Akuma

she played with his sword during the night

If you deflect one of his attacks, he will attempt an overhead slash. Deflect that again and he will fall over.

Use the Loaded Spear double R2 on his neck stump to pull out the centipede and do massive damage.

Demon of Hatred would've been a good boss if he didn't have that retarded full body instant unblockable
I won that fight purely by luck and praying that he wouldn't do the move

Lightning reversal bro

I'm watching dsp fight the first gorilla, the game destroyed him so hard that he just now spends 10-20 minutes before a fight to go on and read a guide about it. He doesn't care anymore and straight up look for solutions before even trying

Haha thanks for the tip

Attached: impulse_1.gif (433x185, 2K)

The fucking note that is hanging on the wall right before him? Also if it took you 45 minutes, you did it without confetti, right?

>UNFAIR
>BORING
>TEDIOUS
>SO I WILL CHEAT
the guy is literally Yea Forums shitposting incarnated

you're welcome

he called the game a puzzle game too because you have to think about your strategy and can't mindlessly attack bosses

I told you people. Ape is the worst boss in the game. His wonky hitbox throws people off.

oh shit, you can stack demon seed with path of hardship? What are the effects of each?

Wow, good thing you have DSP to back up your claims. Well done.

Say hello to my bride!

Attached: 678768678768678.jpg (2048x1536, 328K)

He's a Soulsborne boss hours after you've gotten used to how Sekiro plays.
But then phase 2 turns him back into a Sekiro boss.

thanks to the anons that found this out, i ignored his body the first playthrough

Attached: 20190331125916_1.jpg (2560x1440, 468K)

that's not how you eat rice though

I wonder how souls spergs feel being treated the same way they treated people that struggle playing dark souls, now that they are exposed as only dodge fraud

you can kill him once instead of fighting him twice?

You should've seen all the sperg rage Dork Souls fans had when the game released. Everyone called it "broken" and "unfair"

i dont know actually. but this is in the cave.

nighttime senpou temple

Attached: 20190331122549_1.jpg (2560x1440, 500K)

Good enough for Wolf.

>Prime Owl gets an Owl summon
>Prime Wolf doesn't get a Wolf summon
Explain this

Ape is easy on all metrics, phase 1 leaves him relentlessly open constantly and in Phase 2 it's even easier. There's hardly any dodging involved, unless you count the unblockables and the occasional turd.

Enjoy your centipede

The worst thing is that he still keeps on playing it.

Are jump attacks the hidden cheese for everything? It seems like you can jump over a lot of attacks and punish with like 3 hits that don't get blocked.

so I just beat the corrupted monk at fountainhead, went for a swim in the lake and got zapped by some asshole, can I kill that guy permanently

What's the lore behind Rape Ape 2 and his brown friend?

he is the wolf himself

he brought his hood friend with the black air force ones

>tfw keep dying to the two guards before the chained ogre

i can't even get to him bros

Attached: 1549301232489.png (619x615, 341K)

Thanks for your humble brag input.

You don't even have to warp. At least for me I just rested once outside the sanctum, the gate was closed, I eavesdropped, rested again and the gate was open.

No, you can't do this after the first fight.

I got to the ashina Castle, where the fuck do I go now?
Sunken Valley, Senpou temple, abandoned dungeon, where do I go?

No, you can deathblow the body with the mortal blade after the 2x ape fight to kill it for "real" and get an extra unlock

you can, proceed further without swimming in the water, you can kill the gay playing with a ball in the big three branch later near the save spot, you can't miss him

I really hope you pirated the game, because it won't get any easier

You take double damage in the air and a couple of minibosses and basic enemies have follow ups / sweeps (not marked with Kanji) that can knock you out of the air (you can still deflect though), so it remains pretty high risk for the most part. Deflection however damages posture, so constant blow trading is better in comparison to dodging (jump, step or other means). Generally you want to end your fights quicker and keep the enemy pressured, dodging and moving away gives the enemy a chance to reset the situation (especially if it's got a lot of vitality).

So the first time you can actually fight Owl is basically where I need to start doing the specific things to get certain endings, right?

Didnt mean to quote

Did you beat genichiro?

I don't want to kill O'rin, can i avoid it by finding lord Suzaku?

Finished the game today. Is there any known purpose for the hidden tooth? Why would I wanna use it, just to spread dragon rot?

Attached: 20190331173814_1.jpg (1920x1080, 297K)

Yes

>finished the game
>Shura ending
user...

Genichiro, the dude that cuts your arm at the start right? I got scrubbed by him, was I supposed to go to the top of tje castle? I can't find a way

just a bite down that doesn't disappear, it kills you without getting your rez striked out so you can rez again if you get killed again

Now do it again but choose the other dialogue option with the old fart so you don't miss half of the end game content.

Im not going to do other endings
Game was frustrating

Thats on NG++, the last endind I missed.

If you're out of heals, very low on health, have one resurrect, and think you can get a quick deathblow in to recover your other one after you die and come back.

go inside the dojo and go out the window to the left

YOU DIDN'T FINISH THE GAME FUCKER
YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO SAY "YOU BEAT IT"

and you chose the most frustrating ending

Anyone who says any boss in Sekiro is a souls boss just outs himself as a fucking casual. Every boss has the same tactic, parry and punish.

Okay, so I'm finally at Isshin, and I'm struggling to find openings to even hurt him, parrying him if I can even get it doesn't open it up it just does a slight bit of Posture damage which he regens fast with a full life bar. It feels so hopeless right now.

While I'm at it, how can I be more consistent at Genichiro? Sometimes I destroy him, sometimes he slaps me with that sweep that has poise after his down slash.

Depends. You can get smacked out of the air by a lot pretty easily, and your aerial slashes are actually very weak. The jump has iframes just like the dodge so it can be used in that manner more than people think, but you'd probably get more damage out of dodge+attack since that's actually designed to be your punish and deal good health damage in one hit.

just after you fight that mini boss inside the room, look on your ledft, there is an open window, you can go up to fight genichiro once again from there

If I got the Immortal Severance ending on my first playthrough and want to do a 100%-ish playthrough, which other ending should I go for? Also, what are the points of no return for the different endings?

Post 45 seconds of you parrying and punishing Demon of Hatred

Easiest mini-boss is Armored Warrior.

get the fruits

Both the Demon of Hatred and Isshin keep kicking my fucking ass to hell and back.
But so did Genichiro until I finally learned his patterns and got rid of my shitty dodge everything habit. That's what I love about this game. It punishes you if you fuck up, but it's also your own fault and if you persist you're gonna feel like a God when you surmount a challenge.

return route,
you can't change route after before you fight dragon.

Thanks for your input.

Kill yourself at low health to resurrect without a cooldown. It's only useful if you have multiple Resurrections, of course.
This is how you get to use all three resurrection nodes in a 2-stage fight.

Basically it's a half-health heal on demand, with a very fast animation so you can use it pretty much wherever. Instead of healing and then eating a massive hit, you can just kill yourself at low health and save yourself some trouble.

>it kills you without getting your rez striked out
So, killing myself with it still takes one rez point, but I can do another resurrection, let's say, on the same phase of a boss?

>dsp fight the first gorilla
Holy fucking shit i've rarely seen him getting that pissed over a boss

>Play game
>have trouble on one beginner boss for 3 days
>learn the mechanics through the struggle and triumphantly defeat him
>all bosses up to genichiro are a cake walk, even then gen felt very conquerable
>see people online struggle with enemies I killed in one or two tries
>online dick measure contest points go up
Feels Good

Attached: 1542243238683.jpg (244x244, 12K)

I just want either Posture to regen when you land a hit or for parry to not deplete your own Posture.

Just pay attention for Genichiro. The wind up movements for the stab and the slash are different so you should know when to dodge into him for an easy Mikiri and when to jump on him. If you can't get that down, dodge away from him and to either side. If you dodge into running that usually gets you just far away from the hitbox to turn around and punish him with a hit.
Isshin has a few attacks that leave him open, be patient and wait for those to whittle down his Vitality until he stop regenerating posture at a fast rate. Then you go for the ole attack/parry/punish gameplay. The key here is patience and being fairly aggressive while not getting greedy and knowing when to dodge, and where to.
Honestly, Isshin is pretty much standar Sekiro duel mechanics but you'll get punished a lot if you fuck up. Be patient.

You didn't parry every single ez pezy gg no re enemy in the game blindfolded while having your dick sucked by your little sister. You didn't do it for real and aren't a real gaymer.

Phase three is actually easier than phase 2. You're just nervous and likely out of healing items. I know I was. He fast like a son of a bitch but actually leaves himself way more open for attacks too. And like said Lightning reversal is super effective. It's too bad that you have to basically learn it from him since the mechanic doesn't really come up before.

>Use the Loaded Spear double R2 on his neck stump to pull out the centipede and do massive damage.

WHAT

Just to be sure, are you talking about the blacked fire bull

strawpoll.me/17716249

Common knowledge bruh

You can use the spear pulling follow up attack to grab the centipede from the gorilla's neck and inflict a fuckton of posture damage

Any help with how to read swipes and stabs? I get the feeling that if I don't anticipate right I'm just not fast enough on the buttons to jump/mikiri.

no, are you inside the ashina castle yet?

You need to be agressive on isshin, his posture wont drop down for a while, just keep pressuring and parrying.

You can do quests for both alternate endings on the same playthrough and choose at the end.
Purification quest lets you fight 2 new(rehashed) minibosses and one new boss.

I'm at the point where owl aks me to chose between him and kuro.
Is the answer important?

Demon of Hatred feels like cut content. No cutscene, a teleport to the arena, no new area.
He was either taken from DS3, or his area in Sekiro was cut after the fight had been coded. I'm guessing the second, due to the sudden inclusion of fire soldiers.

the kanjis are the same, you anticipate them by seeing their stance

very important

twitch.tv/videos/400878955?t=5h55m27s

Chances are if an enemy puts their weapon behind their waist and points the tip forward, they're going to stab, and if they put it to the side of their waist, or up on an angle, they're going to sweep. The best thing to watch for is their footing though. You'll start to see patterns, and by the time you reach post-Geni you should be able to figure out what unblockable new enemies are about to throw out.

Well at the checkpoints I got are
>Ashina
>Great Serpent Shrine
>Abandoned Dungeon Entrance
I also discovered the abandoned dungeon senpou temple and sunken valley
Unless I'm actually supposed to go to one of these I'm feeling like I missed something

>Ashina Castle*

>by lessening the linearity
What linearity?
Gun fort leads to a dead end either way, if anything making the shortcut to Senpou temple from the outskirts not blocked until you reach it from the other side makes more sense.

When can i fight headless and the guy in bottomless hole / dungeon area? I wasted alot of materials trying and i juist want to fucking kill them already.

She's a [pure white flower] if you know what I mean

>resurrection is not limited after use

>someone voted for Dark Souls 1

Attached: 1529636596138.png (326x277, 80K)

To be fair, that fight gave me far mour trouble than sword saint. True monk can be cheesed and divine dragon is just a fun, gimmicky but wery simple fight.

It adds options to the early game which lessens linearty
Right now the only diverting path before Genichiro is Corrupted Monk or Butterfly.

This is completely null because in other games, you can summon people to help you

have you fight this old man yet? if not, you must be not inside the castle yet. to get inside the caste you need to grapple your way through roof to roof

Attached: 5cakbgdv-770x433.jpg (770x433, 43K)

I LOVE EMMA
I'M GONNA MAKE HER MY WIFE

I had to kill Owl first and talk to Kuro/Emma

>It adds options to the early game which lessens linearty
What early game?
You still need to go through Gyoubu to get to the gun fort, and again, the gun fort leads only to the sunken valley and nothing else, whereas something like accessing the Senpou Temple from the outskirts at least gives you actual non linear value since not only you get to the temple in the actual early game, you also have another way to get into Ashina Castle(and subsequently the gun fort and everything else) and skip Gyoubu entirely.

Alright thanks fren

GOURD SEEDING EMMA

Have i gone to a wrong area? I am in a tower with blue samurai. they're kicking my ass.
Before them i had weird roof goblins that were really annoying i just ran past them.
I haven't had any trouble before this. I beat the memory easily too.

I like how Estate Owl makes you realize just how much unpowered Wolf is, and that without the resurrection he would have no chance. His swordsmanship is miles below Owl's and Isshin's.

Also, having SS Isshin be the final boss felt like a cop out. I enjoyed the idea of "old man who just wants everyone to let him kill rats".

just mikkiri them, amigo.
btw that's where you suppose to go to continue the main story

No that's the easiest path forward, outside of going to other dead end areas to get seeds and beads.

I was aggressive last try but only got a quarter of his hp bar before i took 2 and got dropped

>try to fight this guy
>sekiro gets so spooked that he literally dies

why is sekiro such a pussy?

Attached: Screen_Shot_2019-03-30_at_6.17.10_PM.jpg (1920x1077, 147K)

He played a lot of SF2 as a kid and it gave him Akira flashbacks.

It's just Chug souls all over again, they never learn.

I can't beat owl, he has like next to no opening for me to hit him.

I perfect parry all of his hit for him to just dash back when I can finally counter attack and he is then out of range. If I dash attack here I get hit 1/2 of the time.
The only time I can attack is when he throw the Lloyd talisman, or the jump attack.

Are the red carp eyes from mibu village only for the doctor or does the pot guy want them in his quest? What do I get giving them to doctor?

wait till you get the purple umbrella upgrade

What is the easiest ending to get?

Dodge spam actually works better than deflecting on him.

What the fuck? Why am i suddenly so bad. Thought i was doing well after killing bull on first try and butterfly on second.
These guys are really sticking it to me. If i fight more than one I'm completely dead.
I already have 3 bead upgrades and 2 memory upgrades.

Lmao, this game doesn't even try to be difficult. It just throws stupid shit at you

Nightjar slash user, it lets you close the distance really fast

after he disappear, he will always spawn behind you. if you manage to get into his behind after he did that, you can get 5 seconds window for open attack

I'm at the part where Ashina is locked off and you need to get the bonfires again. Are my stats right? I feel like my attack power should be higher, what am I missing?

Attached: 20190331214654_1.jpg (1920x1080, 522K)

you can stealth kill most of them, and have them fight you one on one

>Finish
>Shura ending
You have finished the actual game first before doing the bitch ending, right user?

That's the normal amount you should have at that point.

The Headless fight is pretty simple, but still difficult when you don't outgear it.
>Run up to the Headless
>Deflect every attack, you'll take chip damage if you just block them
>Whack them constantly but be careful with getting greedy when they're about to swing
>When they disappear, jump away and instantly face them, they'll only grab you if they are behind you. You can punish this very well.
You'll run out of 2-3 Confetti even on a good run so be careful. Also you need to manage your Terror buildup, especially if you mess up some deflects or get hit head on. Jump back a few times and use a Pacifying Agent or Purple Gourd. It's also recommended to drink from the Gourd once before the fight as it will boost your Terror resist and make you less likely to die to Terror in like 2 hits.
Or you can cheese them with the Purple Umbrella when you have more damage later on.
If you want to kill one Headless and you have limited resources prioritize the one in the misty forest, it gives the best reward.

Interruptably by fireworks, or just rund behind him and slash his ass.

If you want a pro tip, the health bar is irrelevant, ignore it. Stay aggressive and fill the stagger bar instead.

>bitch ending
>has hardest boss

Did it first try and enjoyed it a lot, so I made a 2nd account and did it in the first attempt again. I just want to replay it.
I don't even know what to suggest, just make sure you counter attack every chance you get, and there's a lot of them. Lightning reversal in his 3rd phase completely fucks him up, but you need to time your jump right.

Is Snake Eyes unlockable attack a grab or a thrust? You know, the one where you get stunned and shot in the face. I'm expecting grab but she does it with a weapon

Grab. You can learn the precise timing to side step it but I usually just jumped backwards to ensure I avoided it

>fighting guardian ape
>get unseen aid every time i die

I need to lightning counter everytime

I don't think I've ever side stepped a grab. Jumping seems to work 100% of the time

Just jump away. It's a hook-style grab so you can't Mikiri it. Also the grab part is pretty delayed (the end of the animation) so be careful with running back into it.

What happens if you break the iron code when you meet the owl?

the ending route branches

how do I kill the drunkard?
Is he supposed to be a roadblock?

You get to fight two bosses back to back

Is patches in the game or a version of him?

Attached: patches-large.jpg (600x338, 62K)

You get an ending where you miss out on one of the best areas in the game

Nope

I just got to Ashina Castle past the blazing bull. I went up the stairs and killed a general mini boss but there’s also the reservoir, which way should I go first?

>shura ending isshin phase 2
LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE

there is an NPC that will help you to fight the boss, he is near the pond. when fight him, try to attack the enemy that is attacking the NPC so he wouldn't die.
also, dash forward toward the back side of the drunkard instead of dashing backward if you decide to dodge him

:(

HOW the fuck do I Owl? I heard there was an Owl (true) but I'm talking about Owl (first).

This fucker has 200000000000 HP and also is literally impossible, literally.

for me, it's genichiro, way of tomoe

>First of all, we want to make it clear that – we have this reputation for featuring the Moonlight Greatsword and things like that in our games – we don’t want this to feel like too much of a bind. We’re creating this new IP and this new world. We don’t want to feel like we’re beating a dead horse or just going to put it out for the sake of it or just going to cram it into the lore in some way. It kind of puts restrictions on us, so we are not featuring the Moonlight Greatsword this time.

Shut up, incel

Owl is one of the most honest big fights in the game.

What's the best way to deal with the bull? I barely managed to kill him in the first playthrough but he keeps smashing my ass in ng+, fucker almost instakills me with his charge

A Smash thread died for this.

Focus on his posture. Not his health.

What is From's obsession with everyone being giants compared to the PC?
Owl, Isshin, Genichiro, really just about any human boss your fight is towering over you.

Attached: 1314817673139.jpg (635x513, 31K)

What do I do with the Samurai obsessed with the Melody?
Sending him to the abandoned dungeon feels like the bad end but I dont want to end up killing his waifu and upsetting him either. He's currently near the mists.

I think I'm at the end game- if I open the hidden passage to chase after Kuro, will I be locked out of the Ashina Outskirts stuff? Should I do that first?

Try to sprint and stay right on him, especially when he turns. If he does start barreling at you, throw a firecracker in advance so it goes off in his face and stuns him as he charges

Isshin phase 1 has a couple of attacks with huge windups that give you an easy free hit: his sword-sheath attack and his ranged slash. When you see him doing one of these, run to the left to dodge and then close in to hit him. Also when Isshin runs to your right and does a red attack, it's always a stab for you to Mikiri. I just play defensive with distance and normal blocking (not deflecting) to whittle him down when he does one of these vulnerable attacks until he has 2/3rds health remaining. Then I start deflecting to break his posture since he's no longer at max regen.

Genichiro phase is something you should be getting through in 30-60 seconds with maybe one gourd charge. Be aggressive with attacking and deflecting. If he's charging his black sword attack (which he always opens with), run away. His red attacks are more likely to be stabs than sweeps, so I usually try to Mikiri. Even if I get hit with a sweep, it's a minimal amount of damage that I can recover from the deathblow regen. His long combo (which seems to always end with a red stab) is usually what will allow you to break his posture.

t. seething roastie who got knocked up while drunk

>killed a headless in the first three hours of play
troll posts are no fun when they're so obvious

I'm at owl in ng+, beat him my second try in ng by getting him in a corner and being super aggressive, but since I have kuro's charm challenge thing, being that aggressive would get me killed if I miss the occasional parry.
So what's a good balance between sword clashing and shipping away at his health until his posture doesn't regenerate as quickly?

Hold circle and r1

It's easier to see, more impressive, easier to decipher the tells for the attacks. Basically it is extremely hard to create a fair boss fight with a smaller boss.

In Bloodborn literally the most difficult bosses of the game are roughly your sizes (the ultra-hunter, maria, and orphan of Cosms)

I've played Dark Souls and Bloodborne. They were fine, but I certainly didn't love them like a lot of folks do. They feel broken and frustrating a lot of time, and pretty bland from a design perspective. I really enjoyed beating Bloodborne, though, but kind of just was glad Dark Souls was over.

I'm really tempted to buy Sekiro though, although I know it's just more of the same From Software style that I dont even like that much. I also understand it is the most difficult From game yet, and I dont drive much pleasure from feeling like I want to beat my face into a cement wall. But I dont know.

I also wanna play KHIII but dont have s ton of money. Not sure what to buy. Advice?

It's also quite easy since one of the apes is always rolling on the ground.

Is it a good thing when NPCs die at the end of a question? They can't catch dragonrot and reduce your unseen aid

No, you're only locked out when you move on to NG+ and you're given the option to stay in NG even after beating the final boss.

Where do I go after the turn back can't behead the headless sign?

I'm on the tree, I see no grapple points and I can't reach the two ledges in front of me.

PSA: The game becomes trivial if you bump up your damage and reduce the enemies, aka it's artificial difficulty.

kill the waifu. he thanks you, gives you an item, and dies happily.

From what I can tell, you're no longer locked out of stuff once you're already past everything being on fire. You can even continue your first playthrough post-final boss.

There's a wall that you can jump to and grab as you're falling.

>Giant glowing sword that shoots magic projectiles and has ties to a big white dragon
It's already in, along with plenty of others nods to their previous games.

>game is easier as you advance and play smartly! what is this bullshit?!

Attached: 1518363211804.png (210x243, 72K)

Sekiro is nothing like Dark Souls, similarities begin and end at the hp potion you chug to heal

It's a weird Soulsborne. The combat is far more focused on a rythm game of parry/attacks, but still ridiculously hard. The level design is far easier, but to compensate you have a boss literally every 10 minutes, and most of them ask dozen of tries for you to master the good rhythm of parry/attacks to defeat them.

I like it less so than Bloodborn or DS1, but it's certainly different, and not bad, per se. Buy it if you think you can stomach it.

descend into the valley to the left of the big broke bridge.

Near end game and the Guardian's pool area is already occupied by a gigantic dead corpse so the Shinichimon warrior won't spawn. Any other way to get the Malcontent's ring or do I have to NG+? Going to anyway but would be nice to get item this playthrough.

>give genichiro a thrust perilous attack, grab perilous attack & sweep perilous attack
>use same audio and visual cue for attacks
>have to rely on his animations to decide correct counter strategy
>let him mix up between thrust and sweep after the ground stab and you can't see
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

Killed him though and immediately had combat "click" for me after the fight, this boss was fun and intense as fuck in retrospect.

Attached: IT DOESN'T MATTER I'LL EXTERMINATE THEM WITHOUT A TRACE.jpg (994x555, 86K)

I don't play NG plus yet, but isn't the game made the enemy unable to recover posture after you halved their health? and also I think that owl is that one boss where you chipped down his health little by little instead of focusing on posture just like bull fight

oh fuck I'm blind.

I kept throwing myself at the ledges without looking around

yeah I saw that route but I wanna get my ass kicked by whatever is down this path first

is the symbol for Mikiro Counter and enemy grab the same or why does the Mikiri counter fail so often?

Stab the body with the mortal blade. Leave and come back.

When he gets to a phase where he mixes up between the thrust and sweep you can just dodge first to mikami the thrust and then jump if he does the sweep instead; it's such a slow sweep that you'll have time to jump after the dodge no problem.

Attack the corpse, you will kill the centipede and then enter the arena again.

DMD is harder then Sekiro if you don't use orbs to cheat like a cunt. Coming from someone who finished both. I cannot imagine not being able to finish Sekiro its like a poor mans Ninja Gaiden. I mean its tough but mechanically shallow and dying a handful of times to get used to its shit is not hard.

If you do the second headless ape boss fight, the one to where he summons his mate, he will spawn there instead of the pool.

Yes it's always the same symbol, you need to look at the enemy itself and react to what they are doing.

git gud

why would I want to play the game several times just to get to the difficulty I wanted?

His Iaido shit cant be blocked normally, he does two attacks when he sheathes depending on your proximity, if you're close - he'll dash strike you following with a swipe, so if you're close, it's better to dodge behind him, so you won't deal with this shit.
If you're further away, he will do his unsheath attack, it's either an eassy posture damagetime your parries when you see his sword flash before he unsheaths or vitality damage - just run out of range and punish with a technique of your choice.

uh yeah hello there is no way to get away from the screaming headless monkey attack without taking damage

the red sign means it's an unblockable attack

Not what I said. If you take away the artificially bloated numbers that favor the enemies the game because easy as fuck.

Same symbol.

Also, the tooltip for Mikiri Counter is wrong. Don't hold a direction while you push the dodge button because moving fucks up your positioning and MC doesn't work if you're too close or too far away. The timing is a little different than deflect, but the principle is the same.

I haven't played NG+, but I find that just attacking aggressively causes me to get several chips in, just because I happened to catch the enemy at a moment when he wasn't guarding. Usually I get the bosses about halfway down in health before breaking their posture.

just hold the sprint button and run away. it's easy because the tell starts long before the danger symbol appears

Thrust is always after jump sword attack, just jump the other attacks.

You can run while locking on

>mean its tough but mechanically shallow and dying a handful of times to get used to its shit is not hard.
I could imagine saying this if it wasn't for the final boss. Isshin is grueling.

and get my ass kicked I did what the fuck was that it had like a permanent tranquil walk of peace and his posture immediately regenerated to full after anything I did

I assume that guys a end game optional boss?

It's also better to run behind him, the attack has the shape of a sphere located some distance in front of the ape.

you guys atleast know if anything is effective against him? In NG I just used my sword, didn't try any prosthetic tools, everyone seems to agree fire crackers are somewhat OP in this game but is anything worth using against him?

Attached: 1548864832174.jpg (671x680, 73K)

Second ape has pitiful posture. I killed it with Bell Demon + Kuro Charm on just with Posture damage alone.

Attached: 35243.jpg (700x700, 93K)

Had already done that. Corpse I meant was the carp outside.

Thank you! He's there now

Sekiro with Muramasa aesthetics when?

Attached: 3543543535353.jpg (2924x2500, 946K)

What's the problem with it? Literally just git gud lmao

Did you fight a boss in the past? Did you fight a repeat of a boss? Did you fight a gimmick boss?

What does this circle mean next to the resurrection dot? Sometimes it's full, sometimes it's like a clock that appears to fill up slowly.

Attached: Untitled.png (65x103, 12K)

I'm trying to get past the Ogre, and I've gotten close, but for some reason my computer turns off randomly while I'm playing, no error message or anything. I've lost two saves already since it got corrupted.

My PSU is fine, and I'm only running an i5-6600k and an RX580 with no overclock on a 600W PSU, and they both pull around 30W and 130W each during load. What could be causing the issue? Only Sekiro and War Thunder cause this problem

Just got to the owl. Any tips? Are the other bosses you face if you choose to side with him harder or easier?

The Drunkard was the most challenging boss for me so far. I dropped the horse-mounted boss, the blazing bull and some other minibosses in under 3-5 tries. But Drunkard took me more times than i care to admit. Funnily enough, when I got to Lady Butterfly, I managed to get to her second phase pretty easily, but had to back out in order to find some more snap-beans.

Great game so far though. I just hit Ashina Castle. Never ceases to amaze me how intricate and huge From Soft worlds feel. (Except DS2)

How do I beat the 2 fucking ninja in the dojo (where you learn the lightning counter technique).
I swear the strongest enemy in this fucking room is the camera, fuck fight in close space seriously it's dumb as fuck.

I used feather in NG. Helped me get a head start on HP damage in his second phase, and helped neutralize the situation when he did his fog/teleport surprise attack.

It's an additional rez, my dude.

gay

Sounds like a skill problem honestly. Have you tried gitting gud?

RAM? When I've got not enough memory I know the game just close.

Fuck the monkey slut

Attached: 1553244121534.jpg (1920x1080, 514K)

Where the blue faggot was before? Stealth kill the normal dude and make him your puppet, helps a bit.

>game is set in ching chong samurai era
>girl is called Emma
Makes me think.

Isn't that the other dot? There's two down there and I thought the right-side one was the rez dot?

If you side with him, you'll get the 4th hardest fight in the game. If you go against him, he's not that hard, but you'll gain access to the two hardest fights.

You can try using divine abduction to get a quick backstab on the regular enemy, or come around from a different angle like suggests.

What triggers the vision/memory here?
Do I need to have met Emma before?

Attached: 1533716817149.jpg (1920x1080, 657K)

>had to back out in order to find some more snap-beans
You don't really need the snap beans. Just run in a circle until the illusions disappear and they won't be able to hit you. Keep running though because the orbs that come from them are lethal but can also be dodged just by running around.

Try using more damaging techniques, that cost emblems. Owl has huge openings.

The pink circles are resurrections. The one with a snowflake you get from resting while the one(s) with a petal you get from killing enemies.

The miniboss spawns in the duo ape cave, not the solo ape pool where the carp ends up.

Wow, that's not very nice

They're both resurrection charges, the difference being that full sakura blossom is restored every time you rest and the petal is refilled as you kill enemies.

Oh I see, thanks. So you get two free revives then.

DH is fun because you learn the game and its weapons if you aren't mashing and chugging orbs like a retard who should just watch it on youtube then. SoS SHOULD have had more of the DMD patterns/additional moves but was just DH with more life/damage. Atleast DH has a purpose and SoS sorta warms you up but SoS can be done in like 3-4 hours quite easily if you aren't too bad for DMD in the first place then you're there. I don't see the issue it all serves a purpose.

DMC5 DMD was pretty great I got a few B's and a nice amount of A/S's I only used checkpoints for Urizen 2 on mission 12 3-4 times and never had to revive cheese like a lot of people I know who have enough action game experience to know better.

Each pink dot is a rez.

you get an additional resurrection when you get enough death blows. you'll see it fill up slowly as you get more death blows.

By that time in Japanese history, the Japanese had already made contact with the Dutch, and had been trading with them for western imports and weapons. (As seen by the Ashigaru flintlock units you fight in game)

Pretty reasonable to assume some Westaboo Jap named his daughter after some QT Dutch waifu.

Attached: teppou_ashigaru__gun_footmen__or_musketeers__by_saudixjapan_d6b2ees-pre.jpg (1015x788, 115K)

I think you just need to rest to have it appear.

They're both rezzes you dingus. One is guaranteed, the other you have to fill up.

the fuck is she doing bros

Attached: 20190330014509_1.jpg (2560x1440, 389K)

I mean there are exceptions. I think DMC5 is a extremely sound well designed game down to the boss patterns/hitboxes and normal enemies. Urizen 2 and his crystal on DMD and Nelo Angelos though have far too much life to the point where its not even about learning its just a grueling shit fest of kill it with Faust for money cheese. Also Urizen 2s tentacle is the only truly inconsistent attack in the game it can bite my dick.

Yeah, I had to cheese Juzou, but I got to Lady Butterfly's second phase on the first try and killed her on the 3rd attempt. The game put those pillars there for a reason.

Juzou just has a massive range, people were saying you can dodge to his side like a souls boss but he would just instakill me if I fucked up at all.

maybe, but it's not just a game crash, it's a straight up black screen with power off. I fucked around with a multimeter and it turns out my socket doesn't have a functional ground pin, but I don't think that's the main cause. Hopefully I figure it out, because this is my third attempt and the first time I've even been able to make it to the ogre without corrupting a save

Yes, but you either have to deathblow a boss or have an invisible timer count down (depending on the circumstances) to be able to use it. Otherwise it's smeared out with that black mark.

anti-air deathblow is so good

Attached: 20190331172321_1.jpg (1280x720, 296K)

I've already got a bunch now. I'll go back and kick grandma's ass later tonight maybe.

Sounds like something is failing in your hardware.

"Stuff"

double ichimoji? doesn't cost emblems but possible to pull it off after his jump overhead attack.

Attached: 543345345435453.png (435x670, 287K)

That fight was so fun.

That makes sense. I hadn't used a guide at all until almost the very end then I was looking for that ring and read about the warrior. Never knew the cave had that headless ape again until I saw the guide, but the guide seemed to be claiming that the warrior spawned in the Ape's pool rather than his cave and someone claimed you could miss his spawn if the carp was already there. Now I understand.

fighting seven spears really makes me realize I don't have a lick of a clue on how this game is played

Are those blitzball idiots supposed to fall over and die without doing anything against my sword strikes?

Yeah they're like the gunners early on in that they can't defend up close but they'll fuck you up if you catch their aggro from a distance or especially while fighting swordsmen.

she tried putting the snake heart in her pooper, silly girl

>Sword saint spanks my ass
>people do no hit runs
I really am bad at video games

Old Isshin/SS Isshin and Owl 2 are legitimately hard bosses. Not to say they're notable to a grand degree but they're exceptions to the its just easy after you learn it rule.

Sekiros second half is largely easy too. The beginning is only hard because you're learning to deflect/block and unlearn shit from either regular action games or Souls shit which is neither a good or bad thing its just Sekiros thing. But because you die so fucking fast at the start its frustrating.

People whining about Guardian Ape not even the double ape fight confuse me though its one of the least notable in the game since it can be beaten with just raw patience pretty easily.

thats a lesson learned many times

Upgraded mortal strike from the fifth skill tree. Or you can chow down on some Ako's and shot him with charged dragon flash, assuming your first ending wasn't the Shura.

Are you supposed to fight Orin of the water on the first encounter?
She seems really hard and there is a way around her.

Attached: 1548594691128.jpg (250x237, 7K)

It's more a case of figuring out the weak points in an enemy's fighting style. For seven spers, just stay midrange and fish for mikiri counters, he follows up being mikiri countered by a swing that if you deflect it, it sends him off balance where you can get a bunch of free hits in.

Ah, your computer just close.

Look at your CPU temperatures. If it is ridiculous (60-70°c at rest), then your thermal paste is fucked up. Change it. Your computer closes because your CPU overheat because your thermal paste is completely pozzed.

Nah this game is just shit. I'm one of the top Fortnite players in North America but I literally threw this game in the garbage at the unbeatable ogre boss. Just piss poor game design honestly nothing difficult about it.

What merchants sell snapseed?
If none then which enemies drop them?

I sorta feel the opposite. Sekiros world is pretty but most places don't stand out to me long term and because of the lack of pickups that matter outside of prosthetics I just find myself bored picking up 5 of an item I've had since the first hour. There are also sizably less bosses since they just throw mini bosses that are mostly reskins everywhere. I feel like the world is insanely lazy and just hiding under a pretty coat of paint. The bosses are fine some mini bosses are cool the first time. The Shichimen are neat. The headless are aids. I don't think its a bad game but outside of DaS3s Froms most disappointing world.

first ending was the one with the two serpent hearts, I wanna do purification now since I hear it has an extra bossfights and the last 2 remaining beads.

farming for that ability is gonna be shit, gonna see what I have instead desu.

get behind her and throw a ceramic shard at her, lets you backstab her immediately

Use sabimaru.
Two combos builds up the poison on her to drain her vitality and guard quite a bit.
You manage to land four combos and she's already basically dead.

I beat Seven spears with a stealth strike and buff plus axe stamina cheesing. He was annoying as shit. I feel like Gen 2 was a much better skill test then just giving a mini boss a fuck ton of damage that early on.

best I can do is keep hopping his head, but whenever he then starts to do his huge wind up swipe attack I'm fucked for 3/4 of my hp

How do I get anti-air deathblow? I bought the umbrella from midget and then he moved to senpou. now the bastard won't sell me anything.

nah, I got an H100i and it sits at around 35°C, even under load. I'm hoping it's not the PSU, since it's an EVGA Bronze Certified and has been fine so far. I thought it might be drawing too much power, but 600W should be fine from a wall plug. Hopefully I make a breakthrough soon, I wish i knew more about what was happening, but there don't seem to be any thermal limiters

Don't even attack her, just parry her like cray

Is there some trick to beating long arm centipede giraffe dude? He just goes HAM the moment I step in and I cant make any windows of opportunity to kill him

Often the difference comes down to intelligence/paying attention. Someone who uses firecrackers is going to have an infinitely easier time than someone who never even saw where to get them, and I've watched both players go through the game.

Stand your ground and deflect. Use Goukan's Sugar and be ready to jump after deflecting a whole combo/second healthbar.

Is there a point to going around killing NPCs for drops before NG+ in this game like you do in the souls series?

Donation box near the trainer at dilapidated temple.

Check that box by the deathless trainer guy in dilapidated temple. I had same problem, but found it there for 2200 potch.

I beat Ninja Gaiden 2 on MNM like 8 times doing all the tests of valor and still died 150-200 times a playthrough atleast. People would call that good and I look at the guy in the corner who did it with little to no damage. Too be fair I don't think anyone has posted a no damage Sekiro playthrough just bosses clipped with each no damage encounter. The tracking on guns and some small projectiles is pretty fucking bullshit.

You can just jump on her head, but I assumed that user wasn't looking for strats to cheese her. You can cheese almost everything if you really want to. Is it satisfying, though?

>first ending was the one with the two serpent hearts, I wanna do purification now since I hear it has an extra bossfights and the last 2 remaining beads.

They're not tied to the ending. You can do the extra boss and 2 minibosses and still do Return.

You HAVE to beat them for Purification, but you can do them as part of any ending.

clearing the area is much more annoying than the actual fight

It's worth farming fulminated mercury a bit.

Like almost every enemy in the game, deflect. He breaks his posture super fast.

You can't do them if you do the Shura ending.

I still think even with firecrackers early game is sorta hard as shit at first because of how much faster you die then later game with a full/fullish life bar. Sorta reminds me of NG2 on MNM where the first 3-4 chapters are the roughest because of how fast you fucking die because of mid to late end game explosive ninjas with more damage/aggression.

FUCK THE APE PHASE 2
FUCKING BROKEN ASS BULLSHIT MECHANICS
>spooks u so hard u die!! oOOoOOo 2spooky4u
FUCK OFF

well it does hit her right on the ass

this is true, Emma is a typical dutch name, history wise this user is very correct

i was wondering which mythological story sekiro was based on or is it just BERSERK for weeaboos?

I love japanese fishing hamlet

I think he meant mortal draw.
it costs emblems to use but you can still use them even if you run out of emblems

>keep medium distance
>dodge/run to his left
>start running back when his scream animation starts

He takes massive posture damage and uses one attack the entire time that can almost be L1 mashed to death actually I think I mashed it and one shot him. A slow ass sweep I thought was a throw in between. Hes not even a good deflect tutorial boss like the dude before Genchiro he literally is what the first mini boss should've been,

Firecrackers are just one example, though. Compare two people fighting Lady Butterfly: one tries killing all the illusions, jumps away when she sweeps, and stands back to let her come in; the other uses the pillars to block the illusions, jumps on her head when she sweeps, and throws shurikens to knock her out of the air and keeps the aggression on her.

That first guy will be there for hours while the second guy won't be there for one.

>come across snake after ogre
>make way further in
>stab it in the ey to make it freak the fuck out
>keep following path
>>it's just a dead end
>die when the snake just repeatedly just smashes me against the wall because there's nowhere to go
Am I not supposed to be going here yet? DO I need to just kill the snake to progress later or something, because I didn't find any other path past the Ogre to go somewhere else.

>Wait until it does 4 times strike hit twice run away
>Wait until does leaping belly lunge hit twice run away.
>Wait until giant slam that it does when outside of range because its AI is shit 1 strike run away.

Its a shit fight it almost always screams its easy as fuck when you realize this and just wait and win.

>getting caught by the scream
>ever
>not using prosthetics

Attached: eavesdrop.jpg (764x472, 350K)

>come across snake after ogre
>make way further in
>stab it in the ey to make it freak the fuck out
>keep following path
good
>it's just a dead end
you fucked up mate

phase two is easier than phase one, like you literally don't need to move unless it uses unblockable attack

Other than Wolf's prosthetic arm and the white mark in the corner of his face, I don't recognize anything in the game as being Berserk-y. There is one or two JoJo references. Apparently the story of the first act, the story going into the game, is inspired by some nip book, but I dunno.

Half his moveset ends in him being staggered for a shitton of time if you deflect the entire combo you dumb shitter. Get good.

I sent this dude to the doctor but made sure to have mibu before he got experimented on and went to go save him. Does anything happen next?

Attached: a.jpg (1920x1080, 151K)

if you wanted a fair comparison NG+3 of sekiro is harder than DMD

Too be fair both people should be using atleast one form of prosthetic at that time in the game. Either shuriken most likely or firecrackers/axe. How you handle the illusions will be different yes. I didn't really fully understand sweep counters yet and just assumed it was all thrust/unblockable stuff so I was mostly just baiting her to dive and side stepping for a hit. Took me like 4-5 tries and was close bar the first or second attempt. I think LB was when I admitted deep down this game wasn't for me and got the Shura ending. I learned and Genchiro and Isshin were funnish but I just don't enjoy the game. Its MGR is just hate parry focused games when its the end all be all.

I didn't see any other path to go on past the little hut, and most of my view was blocked by an angry flailing snake

So I have 3 of those revive orbs on my hp bar but two of them won't charge? how does this shit work? I tried resting at a idol and nothing

Terror really is a shit mechanic. Make sure you eat some pacifying agent or use the purple gourd when fighting spooky stuff.

So why the fuck does Isshin come out of Genichiro's body?

>not even mentioning the spear strat
truly a trash boss fight that relies on cheesing/getting a good pattern. sekiro is trash and can't even do gimmick boss fights right. thank g-d I pirated it, miyazaki doesn't deserve a cent for this mess of a game

>Terror really is a shit mechanic.
agreed.

If you keep moving forward, you'll enter a cave where you can see the headless, but it's down in a pit and generally won't bother you. You can walk past it, and it'll eventually u-turn back up to the Ashina Outskirts - Stairway area.

You just can't use them twice in a row. You have to kill some mobs or get a deathblow on a boss before you can use another.

Try again but open your eyes this time.

>Bothering with prosthetics on the Headless Monkey
Just D E F L E C T bro, stop being bad.

>Ignore the immortal training NPC
>You can actually talk to him after getting the Mortal Blade
>He asks you to kill him
>You pull out a fucking centipede out of him
Shit. He looked normal, he seemed in control of himself, yet he still had a centipede. Are you thinking the same as me? Anyone could have a centipede. The Divine Child probably has a massive centipede inside her right now, even worse than the monks you find on the temple.

Attached: centipede.jpg (1280x720, 300K)

The black mortal blade can bring back the dead in their prime.

How do I beat owl 2

How do I beat Genichiro

DEEPEST LORE

they are charged after you kill an enemy.
if you died the second time, you need to kill or execute one posture point to be able to use your other point. some anons here already talking about it in this thread. look it up!

mediocre game with some awful boss fights. don't get at me to justify your wasted money. cope.

Cheesing shitty bosses is just as satisfying as beating good bosses fairly.

I wouldn't call Orin shitty, but she can sometimes end up encountering players that aren't really strong enough to deal with her yet.

Jesus these threads are a shitshow at this time of day. Is it because this is when school gets out in America?

does it have to be a specific enemy? I went to some random ashina shithole and killed some mooks and nothing charged it

No its fucking not. Once you have access to at least 3 divine confetti, you can take one out easily.

Yes. You gotta rest and eavesdrop a couple times. Also, you need to be able to go underwater.

Is there any counter to Isshin's giant 360 half the arena-sized sweep? You can't block it without taking damage, you can't jump over it, you can't cancel it, do you just have to run away or lose half your health bar?

Not really the same thing. Sekiro doesn't add much depth and just adds damage/posture/health. DMD adds life but adds new moves/DT bosses/enemies for AI aggression and some enemy placement over SoS. Also it takes less time to get to DMD and difficult design for action games is better with difficulty climbing then Froms NG shit.

If we wanna play hard ball NG+7 Four Kings is still probably the roughest thing in the series. Not for good reasons at all but its fucking cancer. Ninja Gaiden Black on MNM is probably harder then either as well. I dunno about 2 if you understand its cheese.

DMC3SE on DMD without super costumes is fucking annoying though if an enemy DTs and gets away the life regen and perma DT hurt my fucking soul.

I hope Japanese moot bans American IPs.

>entire game is based on the player cheesing and stealth killing almost every boss
>m-muh honorable duel!!1
cringe

she is 100% just git gud at parrying
stand still and parry her moves and jump her sweep and you'll be done in 40 seconds

Its not really a gimmick fight. The scream is a gay reversal and its a lame fight but its just a bad second phase in general. Not that id call the first phase good but I found it a lot more charming and memorable with all the monkey shit like farting and throwing urns of his shit at me.

fuck

Attached: Stressed woman gritting her teeth.jpg (960x639, 113K)

i deflected and wasn't so bad, like 20% damage

>truly a trash boss fight that relies on cheesing
>Using core game mechanics is cheesing
Lol, okay retard.

block block jump on head slash repeat

What an embarrassing post.

Attached: 2534.jpg (1400x1400, 445K)

Second try..yep, still a dead end. I saw a hookshot spot at the dead end, but the snake instantly teleports over and smacks you if you try to go for it, so that's not the right way.

Just got to Genchiro. Made it to the 2nd phase. Is there a place i can practice lightning deflect?

Ah, seems Genichiro is a true patriot.

kill yourself mobilefag

like I give a shit, fromdrone. kill yourself because you will not become a ninja any time soon

Attached: 1360390607754.jpg (190x288, 24K)

The fact you're shit at the game doesn't mean the fight is shit. You can play aggressive and have an answer for every one of his moves. If you start parrying his sword swings, he'll always go into the massive sword attack which stuns him if you deflect it. He will do it after you deflect any of his sword combos. The only attack you can't play aggressive against is the roar, but you can dodge it perfectly by running away when you see the tell, which appears before the kanji, just look at what he does with the hand holding the head. The 2nd phase was much easier than the first and it took like half the time.

divine child has real immortality
centipede is all the faggots trying to copy it

Jump.

So in the area after the chained ogre I accidentally aggro'd General Yamauchi, so I ran out of the gate and killed some of his men one by one until he de-aggro'd, but when I had finally killed all of the mobs in the area I can't find him anymore no matter how much I run around his area. Is this a glitch, and I'll have to rest if I want to fight him again?

I'm Murican but i'll admit the under 18's here are completely not salvageable. I blame the education system and pop culture.

I think dragonrot disease affect the charge, I am not sure though..
try to restore yourndragonrot disease and try killing some mobs

Literally no-one remembers that part because everyone passed it first try.

So wait until someone passes it again in NG+ or retry. You can do it user. You aren't completely retarded!

It's sunday you retarded hue monkey. The 12 year olds have been here all day.

If its one thing that kinda gets me about Sekiro apologists who defend even its worst follies it would probably be.
>Dude its about swords clashing lmao
Follow by in any other discussion about tactics
>Dude you're a shinobi not a samurai do whatever it takes to win lmao.

So which is it? Is it okay for half the bosses to be a linear deflect parry sword fight of honoruuuu with minimal stun degeneracy or is it about doing whatever it takes? It seems like a fast ball argument for retards. Im not saying its shit because of this but drop this argument people please its pitiful and contradictory.

Just got to Senpou, did Buddha really ask me to slay the heretics?

>took like 60 attempts to kill lady butterfly
>took 2 to kill that horse guy I already forgot the name of
So I really shouldn't have fought lady butterfly first?

The only death to the horse guy was trying fire because fire=gunpowder right? and it failed horribly. then I just fought him like I did butterfly and used fiecrackers when the horse charged because explosion=gunpowder and it was piss.

when are you supposed to actually kill butterfly? if that horse guy was the first boss it feels like butterfly was like 5th.

>mobilefag
Grasping at straws much?
Guess the monkey dick was too hot for you.

The concept of the infested and the centipedes is straight from Valtr's madness. They're clearly Vermin.

>ninja
>honorable duel

I dont see any other paths except the one the snake hits me mid-hookshot in. This is already my 6th run through this part.

It's not Buddha, retard.
It's rice loli, you'll meet her later.

where did i say sekiro was a good game? calm down retard i was only pointing out that cheesing is not only okay but encouraged

I've tried that, some of the sweep is in the air and hits me anyway. Or do I need to be right up on him?

Okay maybe I was exaggerating a bit, but 20% is still a lot in a 4 phase boss fight. I'd rather not take the damage at all.

>Underage spotted

I beat it second attempt with ease the way I described. Why would I waste time learning it aggressively when that is the most efficient strat? Should I die 101 times to the wonky AI/tracking to learn how to be aggressive on one enemy pattern that appears twice in the game?

Stop being a faggot im not the guy raging about the ape I beat it easily my own way.

>get to the final bit of the divine dragon fight
>do the grapple and get the lightning
>miss the shot and die

Attached: 1534196914420.png (330x267, 152K)

are there any specific ways to dodge the Ogre's running charge, or is it just to dodge twice around him in time?

nah, horse guy is the easiest boss and is probably just an introduction on how to deal with bosses in the game because he has all the basic attacks all bosses have

why are you replying to me? do you understand context? did you even read the post i was replying to? kys single digit IQ mongoloid

No, but it's pretty simple. You don't actually need to deflect it either.

My post was agreeing with you but pointing it out in a different way.

How do you make combat arts not named Ichimonji Double useful?

So what’s the best course of progression? I went to mibi village and defeated Orin. Found the big white ape and he wrecked me. Where should I be going really? Last major thing I did was defeated Genichiro I guess

>not knowing the difference between honor and victory

Wasn't the Divine Child created by the Monks? She's just the only one of the Divine Childs to come out right / survive. That just means she's got to have the fattest, grossest centipede.

dodge back or grapple the tree, if you dodge to either side he will grab you

stop replying to me

Stop sucking
People thinking Ichimonji Double is the only useful combat art just expose themselves as brainlets

Either go past O Rin, beat the ape, or go to Senpou temple through the abandoned dungeon.

ever consider deflecting?
unless you sure you can evade them, you block them.
this game's mechanic is not like darksouls where if you rolling your hitbox disappears

>Almost every boss is unstealthable and knows where you are at all times besides True CM.

Forced honorable duels are a comical contradictory to Sekiros who shtick. The game tells you to use all your tools but then when a boss appears its just deflect/mikiri counter/jump counter and stun cheese and nothing else.

I want to deflect it.
The idea of doing so makes my peepee hard.

The spear's 360 has different heights in its ellipses. I think you can jump over it if you're behind him and slightly outside melee range? You can probably crouch under the upper height too.

Alternatively you can just deflect it, or block it for a bit of chip damage, or use raven feathers/umbrella.

Kill yourself you 3rd world monkey

>after before you fight dragon

Attached: 1458958317414.jpg (379x272, 21K)

The one I missed was behind a ninja hidden in a wall in Ashina castle near the two sitting enemies. Did you get that one?

It's clearly not the most efficient if it makes the fight unfun AND takes forever compared to the right method. You're refusing to learn the fight and calling it shit.

just beat owl
what a fantastic fight

Attached: 20190331163331_1.jpg (1920x1080, 387K)

Did you do the cave under the gun fort centipede's floor? That's the one I missed.

i'd say just deflect it and take it, he does that like 2 times in the entire fight if you let him

he's semi-wrong, divine child was the monks attempt at making an artificial divine heir but all of the children died except for one so they decided to go a different route

not that guy but sword saint is way harder

Ah ok, thought I hit a dead end there, I’ll go back to the dungeon and explore more thoroughly, thanks mate

I’ll rematch the ape after some time or another

I’m taking my sweet ass time exploring every book and cranny of this game

Kite around him keeping mid distance until he does the Shuriken and salto smash combo, then go in for a nightjar slash, rinse and repeat.
Alternatively, double ichimonji because even if you deflect he's gonna fuck your posture.

>Americans can't make fun of America

I’m not gonna read the thread because Yea Forums is terrible for spoilers but does parrying ever become useful? I’ve been timing my attacks it just seems better.

How to beat him?

Look for some jizz on a ledge.

now try owl 2 electric boogaloo

Well,m managed it. Apparently I was supposed to just do the hookshot until the snake decided not to snap over and smack me out of the hookshot animation.

ledge below you in the screen, jump and grab

Jump and hang on ledge

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

grab ledge across from you

lightning reversal

i was under the impression you couldn't deflect since the ogre uses his hands, but I'll give it a shot

>posting like an underage retard
>no ur underage!!

learn to pay attention to the walls
if you can grab its grnenish

Ashina Elite was very easy.

I suppose it's a decent introduction.
probably would've helped my first couple dozen attempts on butterfly if I knew prosthetics can counter some bosses moves.
learning shuriken knocks her out of the air pretty much changed the entire fight.

offense is the best defense

just got it, it was the last one that I could tell I was missing.
the rest are mini-bosses I can't fucking tell whether I killed or not, and since I'm on ng+ they are all back, so I will have to kill them all again to be sure

All deflect only bosses are easy.

Im 3 hours into the game so far and loving it. What did you retards think of butterfly and the horse guy?

Butterfly was fun. It took me a few tries to learn her pattern, but once I did I could literally just mash and parry everything, shuriken when she jumps and mash some more. What was the green item thing supposed to do? I used on my first try but it didnt even get rid of the illusions and I died right after. Pretty bullshit desu.

Horse guy was easy as piss, I just chased and mashed. Wouldve killed on first try if I wasnt of healing, didnt expect a boss so soon desu. Also I know there was an item to cheese him but why would you even need it lol.

Am I just abnormally good or what? I've probably died less than 15 times.

Attached: 1505438287743.gif (360x263, 623K)

I think the whole fight is amazing from start to finish, and is the absolute pinnacle of the game.
Yeah whatever, here's some named samurai characters you're doing deflection fests with over the important macguffin. It's cool, but is it two loser nobodies in a valley fighting over a tiny flower? One's a disabled ninja on a journey and the other is an immortal ape who wants a gf.

From a gameplay perspective, you get full mobility of grappling and running, and there are countless tools, strategies and solutions that work. The fake-out is straight out of a spooky fairy tale and it completely switches up the tone of the fight, as well as just showing the sinister nature of the Immortality people are after. You even feel sort of sad for your enemy you just killed afterwards.
The twists and turns and motivations don't need to be explained with a cutscene, but the narrative and backstory is all there and explained.

Even the name, "Guardian Ape" seems all pompous and important but he's just guarding something precious to himself. That's it. It's a kino fight.

>Refuse to learn fight
>Only difference in our two methods is speed since they both worth.

I've obviously beaten the bosses that require deflecting as a win condition. I don't find that all that fun either. Its like a little mini game that is forced upon you. The fight is unfun either way. You learn how to hit L1 at the right times and then he dies fast wooo. God you're pitiful id love to drop you in a room with MNM Genshin 4 or some shit where you aren't jerking off to a mini game.

I will enjoy killing her in the dlc

>No u
Proving my point even further son. I am disappoint

Jump and press r1. It's just timely like everything else in the game.

you can parry the beam

>even if you deflect he's gonna fuck your posture.

hate this mechanic

Why people complain about them?

Owl 2 was easier for me to be honest, way more spots to land guaranteed damage

Pressing L1 when the attack is about to connect is not more of a minigame than pressing the Roll button when the attack is about to connect.

Nice. Thanks.

Get high monk.

>Thinking a faggot who hasn't even touched DMD yet most likely and was grinding SoS S ranks is any mark of a good DMC player.
>Being a Sekiro player which is a poor mans parry focused NGB.

Pitiful ego strokes for weak folks with brains the size of yolks.

>So which is it?
You're implying both opinions come from the same people.
Let's get to the real meat of the argument here and ask ourselves why there are absolute retards who think using core mechanics in their intended way is cheating.

No doubt, on one hand it's because Soulstrash fried their brains with years of obsessive compulsive R1 mashing and rolling so when there's a game with actual options and variety their chicken pea brains are overloaded with information and can only vaguely respond with
>muh build "diversity"
>muh stand still and mash L1
>muh boring combat
On the other hand, 90% of Yea Forums is made up of hardcore casuals who can't even read simple item descriptions, so effectively, there's a lot of misunderstanding about this game, and a lot of other ones too.

I'm one of the first to complain about the huge pile of garbage decision in this game, but I also don't pretend most of Yea Forums's criticism isn't absolutely retarded and irrelevant.
You can play however you like in this game, as far as I'm concerned "cheesing" or not, unless you're using a trainer or cheat engine, you can beat the game just fine and brag all you like, FROM's games have always been full of cheese either way.

Even the basic enemies are always taller though. I guess it's more impressive to have to beat someone taller than you.

Play for style rather than efficiency

do it coward

Kuro has already left his apartment at the top of the castle and I'm supposed to find him through reservoir exit. Emma isn't saying anything and I think I missed eavesdropping on Kuro and her/sculptor. Is there any way I can still get alternate Hirate/Owl 2 this playthrough?

Also what's with all the negativity in this thread? If you didn't like the game, why not just fuck off somewhere else and let those who did discuss it?

Managed it. A bit annoying, but whatever.

Unrelated question: There's some crying fat fuck carrying around some giant mace looking thing. Anything I should be concerned about, or just a large normal enemy?

now run inside the cave

Butterfly is overrated. It took me 3 tries. I didn't try the snapseed. So far only mini bosses have given me big trouble. Mostly because they're surrounded by mooks.

Sekiro edit when?

>no u
Yikes!

More intimidating

>roll back the save to see the shura ending
>even old isshin is pretty hard
>had to stab qt emma in the throat every time to fight him
never enjoyed this part

Attached: he didn't show me a good time.jpg (588x668, 51K)

L1 usually gives and in the GA case is a guaranteed punish/frame advantage. A dodge in a game like NGB/NG2 etc isn't guaranteed anything but not dying same with a block there. Its different you just have a small brain and because Sekiro can mildly be considered a shallow action game and you're a from nigger you cannot help but jerk off over the Souls retards who cannot even fathom that. Play some real action games above normal hell even NGB on normal the first time is a harder game then Sekiro.

>using prosthetics on boss fights
I hope you guys don't do this

Attached: 15437959683.jpg (384x384, 23K)

>when there's a game with actual options and variety
The game's only relevant options are R1, L1, dodge and firecrackers. So complex!

absolute shura

>Yiikes
Again proving my point further. I'm sure if you keep responding, you'll dig yourself out of this hole.

>The game's only relevant options are R1, L1, dodge and firecrackers.
Yet another brainlet.

Not really my thing

>Implying trying to use Prosthetics that aren't Firecrackers or Umbrella doesn't make the game harder

Attached: file.png (854x960, 909K)

I have no idea why he is crying. Kinda curious to know as well.

>b-but you can jump through a dozen hoops to accomplish the same thing no more efficiently!

I didn't even think of using umbrella, i'm using up most of my spirit emblems on throwing stars to stop posture regen/close gaps, i'll try it out. Thanks guys.

What's the point of the unarmed monk style set? Does it ever get good or is it just for show and getting more sen?

user stop pretending to be someone else, we know you almost had an heart attack after Sekiro got a much higher score than DMCV
Just admit your game's shit

I had to take off my combat art to fight butterfly. Kept using that instead of deflect.

Because they are shitters.

I NEED HELP acquiring all the "hug wall" edits

No retard those bosses are both piss easy. The only thing more pathetic than complaining about how hard they are is bragging about how easy they are.

They don't deflect.

Attached: file.png (762x432, 570K)

>no more efficiently!
That's precisely where you're wrong.
But keep mashing L1 friendo, who am I to judge.

Swap monk with el ogro since he filtered 70% of the shitters

>I want the most efficient and streamlined combat and don't like experimenting around!
I'm sorry to hear you hate fun, user.

I got her on first try and I didn't get a free deathblow. If you're struggling with her you haven't gotten deflecting down yet.

Attached: file.png (960x740, 588K)

stop hugging walls

ROBEEEERRT!!!!

Why should I experiment for zero benefit?

I enjoy experimenting with different options to find the best approach to a challenge. Not just using random shit for the sake of it.

This, plus it looks rad as fuck.

>not using shurikin to close gaps

new thread doko?

I'm playing with a keyboard because I've pirated it so it doesn't work with my gamepad. So far I've been doing good and I'm currently at the divine realm, but I'm wondering if it would've been easier if i had played with a gamepad. Could anybody tell me wich way is easier?

Yes, that's what I said.

What gamepad?

Lets see your Webms of no damage perfect runs while only deflecting when you absolutely have to. I'll be waiting.

shinobi must sneak, must not be seen, short asian man sneaky shinobi

>Zero benefit

First, exploring the different possibilities in combat is fun and rewarding in itself and if you don't like it because it's not the most efficient option, that's fair enough but entirely on you. Secondly, some enemies are susceptible to certain kinds of damage, enemies with glowing red eyes get stunned easily by fire for example, you can poison minibosses with Sabimaru to deplete their vitality more quickly while you don't have to constantly press the attack, the spear helps in some scenarios, the axe is good for stun locking, shuriken can instantly get rid of animals and deal huge posture damage to enemies that are mid-air. Just because you're so tunnel vision about deflect-attack-rythms (which in itself is fun) doesn't mean other stuff is useless.

what are these fucking things

Ill be stuck on Genichiro forever

Well, I disagree.

All of these uses are only for regular enemies, which are already very easy. Bosses, the actually difficult part of the game, render all of these things useless.

This had no right being this easy desu. He destroyed me the first time and this was the second.

Because Yea Forums is reddit

Why are you dmc fags so delusional? Go back to juggling your brainless sandbags you call enemies and fuck off out of my thread

Even your reply is a shit deflect attempt. Pathetic.

The whole game is easy the second time.

How can you not deflect?
Just dodging seems like it would make the game very tedious.
