I really, really love Sekiro, and I like that it's based around a lot of Japanese folklore and mythology, but I do find it funny how dumb Japanese mythology is.

I feel like most of revered fiction that stays throughout history has some sort of overaching theme or moral, and that the fictional elements are there just to emphasize that theme, but with Japanese fiction it's always something like "The ancient mystic Ferret consumes the blood of babies and can only be stopped by sprinkling Sakura blossoms ground together with Mystic Dragons frozen ass cream" or some insane and arbitrary combination of tasks and ingredients that mean absolutely nothing.
