Remove permanent egi's and focus on a bunch of different trances and have spell effects visualy incorporate egis. Summoner Resurrect is Phoenix-egi etc.

Sadly it will never happen because they'll never succeed in fully dismanteling Arcanist into SMN and SCH.

To this day I'm still confused as to why they chose Summoner of all things to lead from Arcanist when ACN seems designed to naturally lead into SCH despite the role change. Especially with SMN 60-70 when they repeatedly mention the old Arcanist mechanical staff as an extreme boost to a summoner's power.

My fear is that they will try to do the Garlemald campaign at the same time and we'll get another Stormblood situation where the story is spread between two plot threads and neither gets the attention it needs to be properly fleshed out. All the new zones shown so far seem to be on the First so there wouldn't even be the necessary locations to support the Garlemald plotline.

I think they'll try to piece-meal two stories at once again but the Roleplaying system where we take control of a simplified NPC will be leaps and bounds better than trying to be in two places at once like Stormblood did. I recall at Fanfest they already mentioned time won't just stop while we're on the First and stuff will be going on back home, and without big daddy WoL to keep everyone safe for a while.

Not like the WoL could keep them safe from getting gassed anyway.

We'll be playing as Elezen-Zenos in short duties throughout ShB.

Garlemald expansion will be 6.0, when it's reformed into a Republic and we can actually have the capital as a city hub, so we don't run into another Ala Mhigo scenario.

If anything happens to Ishgard I will turn the Empire into a second void.

I don't think we'll be getting an Ishgard Housing area. We'll get a private instanced area for a player home with both interior and exterior that we'll construct throughout ShB, combining Doman Enclave with Crafting stuff.

Going through a separate plot thread as NPCs is not better in any way. You're still dividing the narrative. 4.0 wasn't really "two places at once". You start in Gyr Abania then you're in Othard for a while, then once you're done there you come back and finish in Gyr Abania. The issue is that because they tried to do two things in one expansion, neither side got enough time to flesh out the setting and make you feel invested.

People seem all worked up and optimistic on the strength of the trailer alone, but I've learned not to expect anything from the XIV devs, especially with how piss-poor the 4.56 ending was.

ishgard housing is definitely coming. the datacenter expansion for EU and NA are part of the reason for it. they need the extra servers for the persistent worlds.

Honestly, after decorating my FC's medium house mostly by myself, I have no desire to upgrade housing sizes either for the FC or myself anymore.

The housing area will be the conclusion to the reconstruction storyline, but since the reconstruction is going to be spread out over the entire expac, the actual housing area won't come until 6.0.

Assuming they've learned from SB that resolving the plot immediately in the base expansion is a bad idea (see HW), dividing the narrative isn't that big a deal, especially when all they can really do to keep us tuned in on how things are going back home is to dedicate some quick cutscenes after an instanced fight. This is a damned sight better than resolving Ala Mhigo's resolution almost immediately and then leaving you to deal with Hingashi for the rest of Stormblood, the thing they actually wanted you to do.

If it's just an occasional look over to see what the Garleans are doing and how they are being held off and then the actual Garlemald campaign story comes in 6.0, fine. It'd be a bit shit that they did the whole bait and switch by announcing this would be the "take down the Garleans" story back at fanfest, but at least they could do that plot justice by saving it for a later expac.

My fear is that they will try to do both "save the First" AND "defeat the Empire for good" in the same expansion. Even if they leave the one or the other for the 5.X patch stories, that's still doing it a big fucking disservice. The Empire is practically the biggest antagonist of the game's entire 7+ year history, not devoting an entire expansion to that conflict would be a huge letdown and I can't see any way it would be satisfying.

What has the general feedback been for Blue Mage and the concept of limited jobs? Has feedback lead the team to strive to make any changes towards their approach on how to implement this kind of content?

A.) For the Blue Mage, it is still only available at an entry level. Its quite easy to level and only basic content for it is available. We will eventually increase the level cap for it and release new content for it. When we increase the cap, we will have some more content, some of which is much more hardcore. This will release sometime after Shadowbringers releases. We want to see how players respond to these new contents. Until we reach that point, we don’t want to talk much about future Limited Jobs. We need to see player feedback after more Blue Mage content is available.

Swiftcasting a Broil to weave in Energy Drain + something else *is* more important than some trash Red Mage's life, after all.

It's hidden. You can move but you can't use any skill. Once you do or once any party member uses a skill on you, it wears off. It also wears off after 8 seconds if no one does anything to you. So if you're not topped off after around 8 seconds, start popping Second Wind or Bloodbath or whatever and try not to die

Not especially necessary for WHM; what's your current level? Current WHM is effectively "slap regen on the tank, Cure/Cure II as needed, DPS at all other times".

You forgot the part where you prioritize your OGCD tools of healing over GCD tools and use casts of Regen or Aero 2 to move without losing casting uptime.

57, I primarily place aero dots then use regen+medica II for sustained healing, and spam cure for healing to get cure II procs

Don't worry too heavily about free Cure II casts, Regen alone usually ensures that you won't run low enough that Cure II's MP inefficiency even becomes a problem

Use Overpower, love Overpower. Tomahawk for ranged pulls or pulling specific enemies. Don't be afraid to use your aggro combo (ends in Butcher's Block) if you're having trouble keeping an enemy's attention for whatever reason. Use Defiance, your tank-stance. Inner Beast, the skill you just got at 35, is a huge enmity boost and also a temporary defense-up buff, in addition to being a strong attack.

thing is is that the 2.0 msq was written for people returning from 1.x. When the game proved to be a smash hit, they needed to add a bit more backstory and exposition to the story so people would catch up to speed. The Shiva arc is when the story starts to actually make sense and matter

Eorzea is the name of the realm consisting of the continent of Aldenard, the island of Vylbrand, and other surrounding islands.

For DRK specifically it's a good idea to keep both grit and dark side on because it gives you more tools to work with. MP becomes a nonissue once you get a full toolkit. Dark Arts is indeed cancer but you get used to it like the other user said.

ARR's current engine bottlenecks itself so hard it hurts. 1.0 on a private server, running combat simulations across 50 participants, hits 4k60fps on my rig. ARR I can't get 4k30fps staring at the floor in a housing instance.

People forget that ARR isn't better optimized than 1.0. Just the passage of time between the two allowed people to get dual/quad-core PCs in the meantime and slightly less toaster of a GPU. ARR is VRAM hungry as all hell compared to 1.0. You can barely get by with 1gb of it in DX11 without memory chuffling in cities causing large input delays.
