it's not really duck hunt dog, it's actually 3 characters - the dog, the gun, and the duck
WFT actually had a lot of material to go off of, since the wii fit games are basically a series of minigames in different styles, and they could give her a sports theme for many of the moves (along with incorporating several yoga poses); similarly, villager/isabel had several interactions and crossovers to mix in: such as villager's up special being taken directly from balloon fight.

Then take creative liberties to make Bomberman a more interesting character, it is a fighting game after all.
It's not just bombs that Bomberman can use, but you are clearly detracting the plethora of power-ups and gadgets that Bomberman can utilize for his moveset. Not to mention that he was in a Smash Bros clone that also gave him a moveset (though not very intriguing).

I know you're really trying, but I just can't see it. If bomberman did get in, the moveset would be unbearably boring and I don't think even the biggest bomberman fans would play him.
