Yeah, you have to rescue him in both games, but in the second game there's a lot of references to his music and style in one part of the 4th report.
Space Channel 5 has a very special spot in my heart and I would kill to have Ulala back in a sequel or even having her in Smash Bros. She would be so unique.

I have the original on dreamcast and played it for a while until 2005 or so. Had to wait forever for part 2, because america didnt get the dreamcast version. Instead there was a very cheap bundle on the PS2 released in 2003 for america. The second game is better in just about all respects, from music variety to inputs, to length. You cant go wrong with the first one as its about an hour long (if you dont fail) but yeah if you have like 1% interest in old school sega soul or rhythm games youll enjoy it
Well there is a remake of the first game coming out...but its vr only. Feels like a missed opportunity honestly. SC5 would do great as a $15-20 digital game across all consoles like sonic mania did.

Well the footage theyve shown is a remake of the first level from the first game. You play as twin reporters instead of ulala so there will probably be some differences

That's the setting anyway, gameplay is obviously different. EBA is cheerleaders/agents dancing to save people on various situations using touchscreen inputs to play covers of older songs (ABC, Jumpin Jack Flash, YMCA, etc). Judging by the Michael Jackson posts, does this game do covers too? Or licenced tracks like Cytus?

Nope, there is really no licensed music outside of mexican flyer. Most of it was done in house by segas very talented musicians. Like, were talking the guys who make music for sonic team games. And this was 2002. So you have sonic adventure, heroes, and phantasy star online era soul were talking here
