Never played this series before - which should I start with?
Does this new one feel like a full game, or does it feel like an early access game?

Bumping for these questions, I also want to know if it’s absolute shit or not

Risk of Rain 2 is lacking in the content the first game had but don't be fooled. There's still a solid base here. It's better than your typical garbage EA game but definitely not a full RoR title just yet. The buy 1 get 1 free is a steal. Give the copy to a friend and have fun.

is it better than the original?

shill

It's almost a 1:1 from 2D to 3D. Early access so not everything is there but what is there is EXCELLENT. Co-op is good fun.

What do you think of the game, user?

bumping for other clueless anons

>game became 200% more enjoyable after I created a m1 toggle macro
Feels good, I only have 4 purple coins though, can't seem to drop them. The frozen one is the only one left for me to unlock.

First one is a 2d roguelite platformer. Second one is a 3d roguelite third person shooter/action game.

As someone who isn't good at precision 2d platformer controls the second game is a lot more easier but also easier to enjoy. So far RoR2 has somewhat limited content but still pretty good replayability yet seems to improve on most of the core concepts of the game that carried over from the first one. Future updates will bring new characters, maps, bosses, items, balance and bug fixes though personally I've had a very bug free experience even if the game is in EA.

I'd recommend on jumping into RoR2 as it is both more approachable and fresh so there's a lot of people to play with if you like multiplayer. RoR1 didn't have a server browser so we used to occasionally have threads in Yea Forums to host servers but that's no longer needed. And if you do wish to play with Yea Forums they improved that part too.

That offer is gone already.

I was in a game with a guy that was playing as the Beetle Guard from the item the Beetle Queen drops, is how he did that common knowledge here? He said he just modded something.

He could jump around and use its attacks and everything. I dunno if he could collect items.

probably used the same method people did to play as the bandit.

according to the devs they made all enemies playable with functioning inputs to test them out

> bandits Rmb insta charges all of his specials when he kills an enemy with it.
im so glad he's in

What's the proper etiquette when playing online?
What do I get, what do I leave, when do I use the dosh?

>Never played this series before - which should I start with?
1 is a full, complete, buggy as hell game.
2 is an early access, and rather less buggy game.
2 definitely feels unfinished in some respects, mostly due to some balancing decisions on the dev's part and the literal missing content, but otherwise the core gameplay loop is just as solid as in the first game.

Keep an eye on how many pickups you have compared to your party and decide if you're being greedy or not.

IS there no final boss yet?

Early access :^)

How does multiplayer work? When there are more people playing, do the enemies scale up?

Is 1 still buggy? I haven’t played it in a very long time
