>random dude in a server asks if I have a mic and I tell him no >dude bro you need a mic >wtf why don’t you have a mic bro how can you communicate?? >spends the next hour talking about what he’s eating and drinking like anyone cares >I type team strats and enemy locations in chat >guy in voicechat still talking about his blog, complaining about getting killed by the very same guy I warned about in text chat >end up muting his dumb ass
This is why I tell people I don’t have a mic (I do). Most people with mics are annoying bird-brained attention whores who just want to hear themselves talk and want to talk about shit that doesn’t relate to the game and then wonder why they suck when they can’t even focus on the game. I unironically switch teams if I hear too many people on the mic in some games. I’ve also noticed in games like CSGO if I hear “Mics? Mics?” from a player at the start of a match I can almost guarantee you they are shit. I’ve had more success with completely silent team members with good focus and game sense than with talkative “jokesters” who think they’re hot shit and only end up having to be carried or they start blaming you for losing because “you don’t have a mic”.
Fuck people with mics. They should go to discord or the hair salon if they want to talk like bitches all day.

Your post was also a blog by the way. Anyways, this is why I don't hate anybody. Everybody is a good person.
JUST BE CAREFUL THE DEITIES ARE WATCHING YOU!

You're fine OP don't worry about it.

Good thing we’re not on a game server then, Mr can’t tell the difference between an apple and an orange.

I hate mic users so much.

I know you're being defensive so I don't blame you. But I'm telling you the truth is that everybody can be rude sometimes. Just don't be rude lol. You're fine. Have a good day.

Be passive aggressive all you want, butthurt mic fag, you’ll still be a fag.

If you can’t take people being rude online you should really just hurry up and join the 40%

Having a mic is superior for fast callouts but I would rather have no mic than listen to the guy with an open mic who refuses to use a push-to-talk and I can hear every little thing that goes on in his house or worse his breathing
Jaxon Morgan
Has nothing to do with being rude. Changing the subject is a sign of butthurt fyi

Hey guys, how do I get my mic to play MP3 files? Do I need an audio mixer? I want to be able to play this on repeat, and as loud as possible whenever there are other mic users around. Instead of muting them, I'll make them mute me. youtube.com/watch?v=2AIJuRGYmWk

OP here. I agree with you. The theoretical use for mics is a good thing, and there are rare occasions in which there are people who use mics properly. But the truth is that 80% use it to chit chat about non game related things and it makes the whole team suck because of it, and mic chat culture seems to only be getting worse across all games.
>turn on mic >begin eating chips to annoy everyone
Jace Cox
>type something in chat >get no response or maybe a half-assed one >use voice chat >get no response or maybe a half-assed one yep, communicating with people sucks
I feel you man. I played Destiny 1 on Xbox One since launch (pls no judge) and every raider was a fucking elitist. They would scream and threaten to kill you if you didn't have a mic. Some people literally told me I wasn't worth existing because I didn't have a mic. Granted, at the time most no mics didn't bother learning how to do a raid, and would get everyone killed, but the difference was I knew how to do the raids. I studied every strategy, grinded for the perfect weapon and armor rolls. I consistently outperformed every one else in the raid groups when it came to kills, objectives completed, etc. I still haven't completed all the raids in D1. I've only beat VoG and CE. And to top it all off, my xbone died a few months ago and I'm too poor to get another one. But anywho, everyone instantly fucking booted me once they found out I didn't have a mic. I only completed those two raids near the end of D1's lifespan because some nice people I met on Bungies' forums helped me out.

Micfag here. I only tell my team relevant gaming information to help us complete the task at hand and I never banter about anything that isn't related to winning the game. If I want to talk to friends on the team separately, I do so with Discord as to not annoy the randoms.
People thank me for my helpfulness and add me to their friends list all the time.

>play nostalrius, my first experience regarding WoW, since I'm a NEET >unironically enjoy it, having fun playing the game, and partying with randoms to beat bosses >some guy forms a party with me so we can complete quests faster >few minutes later, he types "hey bro, do you have a mic?" >pause for 5 second and think of my answer >answer no even though I have a mic Why am I so autistic
Landon Campbell
Actually, making parallels to a Yea Forums post detailing a certain situation and mic zoomers who talk too much about unrelated bullshit doesn't work at all here.

Haven't played any games with voice chat.

You’re one of the good ones. You did the right thing. If your tasks were accomplished satisfactorily via text chat and you were able to communicate through it enough, than adding the mic was unnecessary. However if the text chat was clearly hindering your ability to work together (i.e you constantly lost each other or never knew when the other guy needed help), then maybe bringing up the mic would be a good thing.
I have a feeling it wasn’t the latter through. I’ve been through many similar experiences and I also say no. I can just “feel” when it’s unnecessary.

This is the right way. You don't need to be overly serious, but a stranger talking about what your balls smell like or whatnot isn't interesting in a competitive match. Pubs are a different thing, I like when people shoot the breeze there. Even made a handful of real life friends playing pubs.
