OP's memes aside, for me the combat got very dull and stale the moment it "clicked" with me, but the unfortunate part of it is that with a few adjustments with stuff that is already in the game, this could've been avoided. One of the biggest problems in my opinion is actually enemy encounters, an obvious one is the amount of enemies in the game that use shields, which is like, 15 or so tops, in the entire game. If the game bothered to add more enemies with shields that alone would've helped a great deal in making fights more interesting since you can't just bumrush shielded enemies and smash the attack and deflect buttons in their face until they die, you have to use the axe, or items, or catch hem by surprise. I also think the game could've used a couple of enemies that you cannot block or deflect at all, not a lot since the point of the game is deflecting, but just enough so that there are enemies that you cannot approach by just deflecting.
And maybe this is just me but i expected the Samurai minibosses, like the 7 spear dudes or the normal guys with the big katanas to become more common enemies, but they do not, you just occasionally run into some of them, and enemies with 2 healthbars never respawn, which i think is stupid once you get to the end of the game since by then they don't really pose a challenge, and on that subject i think the fact that you can stealth kill so many of them is a mistake, i'm not sure if i would say stealth was a waste of time, but i don't like how many fights can be trivialized by sneaking around and backstabbing powerful enemies. On top of all that it doesn't help that the enemy AI is incredibly stupid and predictable, pretty much every enemy in the game will block two attacks and deflect the third. Also the grappling hook is a huge gimmick and it's incredibly underutilized in combat, the one real exception being the fight against the Dragon, and while it was kinda cool, it was just the gimmick bed of chaos fight of this game.
OH MY GOD I PLAY VIDEO GAMES
blow it out your ass
Post proof you've beat the game or shut the fuck up.
@456592962
didnt read
This was my main problem with it, it has a very specific way of being played and you cant get creative with it at all.
Umm, no, sweetie, you have to hit the jump/dodge button every so often too
I thought it was a good write up
this is so retarded it hurts
sekiro combat is also dodge, parry, attack, it's just that the posture is now the HP bar. I can't believe how stupid people are. Fuck sake. There's LITERALLY unparriable/unblockable attacks that MUST be dodged BOTH vertically and horizontally.
yes
sorry what I meant was parry 90% of the time then do a QTE when red chinese happens
how do i kill corrupted monk? this religious ghost slut is pissing me the frick off
now go and play NG+ without kuro charm and get your ass split open
a QTE implies only one way of dealing with the situation (usually press a certain button) which isn't true in sekiro, just like it wasn't true in any of the past games. If you believe that's true in Sekiro, then you'll have to call every bossfight in previous games QTE fests too, since the only way of dealing with any attack is dodge spam for invincibility.
Learn to deflect, or use divine confetti and abuse the shit out of firecrackers like a shitter scrub,
Snapseeds ruin her fucking day.
git gud XD
Nothing i said has anything to do with difficulty, and chip damage on block doesn't change anything unless you don't know how to deflect.
run the entire time until he does an attack, when hes done run in and do the mortal blade combat art, repeat. Beat him first try like this, game sucks.
the truth of the matter is that soulsborne combat was getting absurdly stale and this is a step in the right direction
if sekiro was just another game where you dodge into sword sweeps, attack twice, repeat it would've been horrible
Not him but i don't recall previous games flashing a big red "evade" during combat
I have more fun with the stealth and map layouts than with the combat.
combat is too basic.
Since the warning sound/symbol doesn't require the press of any specific button to avoid the incoming hit, I don't see how you can classify it as a QTE. It's clearly a combat clarity solution so the player can easily recognize incoming danger, just like those musician enemies in Bayonetta would trigger a sound everytime they shot a projectile at you offscreen.
>get posture broken in 3 hits
>miss hit - death
>miss 2 deflects - near death or death
yeah, definitely doesn't change anything at all
>unblockable thrust
>can dodge to the left or right to get some hits in if youre fighting a boss with high posture
>can use mikiri to do posture damage if you specifically want to damage posture
>can use feathers to teleport behind them
>can also try to get in a quick hit to cancel their animation
>can parry it
>unblockable sweep
>can jump away
>can jump towards them and do a falling attack or falling art/tool
>can jump towards them and do a kick jump into a falling attack
>can use high monk to heavily punish it
>can also use feather to teleport behind them to get in some hits
>can also try to get in a quick hit to cancel their animation
>Can parry it
>grab
>can dodge away
>can jump away
>can use feathers
>can also try to get in a quick hit to cancel their animation
>can parry it
Dude its all just QTEs lmao
You don't get posture broken if you deflect even if your bar fills. And again, i never said the game was easy or argued anything about the difficulty of the game.
Well yeah I mean you can make it through most of heavy rain without pressing the button prompts exactly doesn't make those not qtes too.
Even if you can make it through the qte without doing it exactly like the dev intended its still a qte
Just deflect, it's one of the easier fights desu since most of her attacks have long windups and very easy tells. Or you could use snap seeds/confetti if you're a huge pussy.
See, you don't know what a QTE is. I'm done here.
it feels like a very gimped ngb
It doesn't feel like NGB at all. Why make the comparison?
Here's the definition of a qte
>In video games, aquick time event(QTE) is a method of context-sensitive gameplay in which the player performs actions on the control device shortly after the appearance of an on-screen instruction/prompt.
while i agree the game could've been fleshed out more
you could do this to any game and in turn waste a thread
idiot
You fucking retard, Quick Time Events are distinguished by a slowdown or pause in the gameplay wherein the player must do one or more specific actions in a certain order to succeed.
The warning in sekiro is literally just a warning. The game doesn't go slo-mo or flash which button to mash on the screen, and you don't even need to press a button at all. If you're out of range it won't even hit you, since obviously it's not a fucking QTE
Stop acting like half of those are even viable, the endgame boss fights are so tight that you should restart if you dont mikiri counter a thrust.
>unblockable sweep
>Can parry it
>grab
>can parry it
pretty sure those you can't
To add
>Performing the wrong prompt or not at all results in the character's failure at their task and often in an immediategame over, or a life being lost and being shown a death/failure animation.
The original point of qtes was to use gameplay not normally allowed with the controls and get something more cinematic. The obvious evolution is qtes live in cinematic gameplay that is meant to extend the basic combat
>the endgame boss fights are so tight that you should restart if you dont mikiri counter a thrust.
No? Owl 2 is one of the toughest fights in the game and he gives you plenty of opportunities to do shit. Not only that but Owl 1 and 2 have high posture so you it helps a lot to whittle their health down before you start going for posture. Isshin obviously you only want to go for posture because his posture bar fills up insanely fast even at full health.
You can parry literally everything in the game. You can't block those attacks though. If you fuck up the timing you get hit for full damage.
>it's just that the posture is now the HP bar
Hmmm. No, I don't think that's right.
Single player games can't be hard.
Have you even played the game? The posture bar isn't the health bar because you also have a fucking health bar. It's even more not like an hp bar because there are bosses you can kill the souls-borne way of evading and chipping away at their health bar instead of the posture bar.
The only one who isn't creative here is you.
>press buttons
>win
Wow video games are shit lol
ok fine over the shoulder 3rd person mass market action-movie single player games can't be hard.

Me on the right
This game is fucking garbage all I do is have to press buttons when the game intends for me to press them to have a positive impact and I win. Literally, LITERALLY artificial by design.
They think they do, but they don't.
>Nobody can criticize the game because Fromsoft bequeathed a sliver of accomplishment to an army of cursed NEETs who rush in like a cum-guzzling horde to moan “git gud XD”
So this is what Dark Sould tried to warn us about. I better alert Vaati.
All games are artificial difficulty. Getting a big tiddie goth gf is organic difficulty.
>type type type post
wow user of the year
oh my god i just realized big tiddy goth gf is a bigass subreddit. would you fuckers stop posting everything on reddit?
never parried a sweep
paried multiple grabs, parry windows are very difficult without trial and error.
