All the Smash games have a good reason to go back to it and play it. All except Smash 4.
Name one good reason to go back to Smash 4 3DS and Wii U.
All the Smash games have a good reason to go back to it and play it. All except Smash 4
Custom moves, Smash Run/Tour, its own set of event matches, Target Blast, Rival Smash.
>smash 4 + dlc = smash ~wii~Ultimate aka a port
Rock Smash.
Isn't the JP scene for 3DS still pretty active
3DS still has the best beat em up mode the series has to offer.
Wii U has no value unless you're really in love with double-plane Kongo Jungle or Orbital Gate. I actually like those two but I can live without them.
Smash 3DS has Smash Run which was actually pretty fun (hopefully they bring it back to Ultimate in some future update). Smash Wii U not so much in comparison, that comes to mind.
dank down-throw to up air combos
>Multi-Man Smash worth revisiting
>caring about the Smash version of Angry Birds
Smash Run is the only reason and it's a fucking good reason. If there was multiple maps and multiplayer/online I would be on that shit like a hobo on a ham sandwich.
Well, All Star in Ultimate is ass. So there's that.
Custom moves and smash run. That's really it aside from that there are mods. I'm not saying the mods make it worth coming back to, but it's something that ultimate doesn't have - by which I mean you don't get banned for them.
>smash run
>geno's mii costume
4xM
Smash run.
Period.
This is basically what the old All-Star mode would of been like with Ultimate's roster. Do you honestly really want to slog through all of this?
Only real problem with All-Star Smash is that for reason, it goes on forever.
All the characters from 2001 onward should be cut
We don't need zoomer shit in Smash
It's better than never even fighting the newest characters. I don't think I've ever made it past Pichu with any character except K. Rool.
Smash 4 was the only game that allowed you to play as Banjo
A good All star mode
>Do you honestly really want to slog through all of this?
Yes
If you want to play Brawl but with some more features and no retarded rng mechanics like tripping. I unironically want a price cut switch port. also if you're a bayo/Diddy/Rosalina/shiek fag
Doesn't Ultimate erase any reason to return to the others
Basically yeah. 64 and Melee have advantages over Ultimate but the massive fucking roster of Ultimate makes me never want to play Brawl or 3DS/Wii U ever again. Maybe I'd go back to Brawl if Subspace weren't shit, because that's a unique thing it has going for it, and Wii U if Smash Run wasn't 3DS exclusive, but otherwise fuck those two.
64 has the best classic mode plus Board the Platforms, Melee has the best Events and stadium, Brawl has the SSE and best stage builder, 3DS has Smash Run, and Wii U has....um...
I don't have a case for Smash 4, but why would anyone ever go back to Brawl?
I'd say handheld smash just for the novelty but I completely lost interest in Smash 4 once I saw it had no story mode like Brawl did.
Crazy Orders
> Playing Smash for the single player content
Get some friends loser
Smash Run. It's my favorite all smash games. It's so entertaining and rewarding to defeat a large number of enemies and go through a huge map full of iconic enemies of video games.
Also mario's dunk.
Why it feels better in smash 4 than the ultimate version?
> Iconic enemies of video games
Half of it was Kid Icarus Uprising shit
I have one friend who plays it. Multiplayer in Smash is only fun in real couch MP or at least with a real friend, online random battles aren't fun and the non-story singleplayer content is repetitive and boring. I enjoyed seeing the characters actually interact.
I really wish Ultimate had unique break the targets for every character. They should add a mode that lets users create break the target stages and you have to beat them with said character to upload them, a la Mario Maker
Brawl has the best item selection and balance of any game in the series. Smash 4 and onwards misunderstand what makes items fun.
If I had to introduce a casual to the series and I could use any game to do so, I'd pick Brawl.
>things no one bothered with when the game was still relevant
Or you can not be retarded and do it like Melee's All Star where everything is randomized and fun. Honestly, with the relatively sparse single player modes I wouldn't mind having a long form 1v3 All Star mode gauntlet. Might actually be somewhat challenging for once.
>Making things random
Smash 4's Classic Mode was nothing but entirely random shit and it was terrible. Personally I prefer some sort of structure.
>>Smash 4's Classic Mode was nothing but entirely random shit and it was terrible.
>Smash 4's classic mode was bad because it was random
Melee's Classic Mode was random and it was awesome.
>Square-Enix actually buckled dowm and removed the Geno and Chocobo Mii costumes in Ultimate
I like Final Fantasy, but I seriously hope Sakurai tells SE to fuck off after Ultimate. We'll probably never see a Square-Enix character in Smash again until 50 years from now when they have to bring back Cloud for Smash Ultimate 2.
Subspace Emissary. That's about it.
Not him, but all the 3rd Party costumes were removed to be fair. The 3rd Parties all probably want to sell them as DLC again.
I played that over a decade ago and have never once had an urge to replay it.
They removed non 3rd party mii costumes as wall for no reason.
R.I.P. Mage Outfit.
