I Thought I was the only one that remembered this game.

YOU ARE
A ROBOT

This game was the ratchet and clank of the Xbox. Really underrated.

haha reboot
you get it

God-tier choice
Took me a while to remember it, but I had so many good memories of playing the multiplayer with some buddies on the GC version.

Holy shit, people that played Metal Arms

Blizzard own the rights, it’s dead

you guys serious? Metal Arms: Glitch in the System is like THE game of the ""obscure" gems" threads. Everyone remembers it but everyone thinks no one played it. Anyway the rights are in fucking limbo so never ever

persona 2 needs a remake badly just so the p3/p4 zoomers can see what actually good stories and characters look like without slogging through outdated gameplay.

Attached: qgqm4jbg13k11.png (1366x768, 1.6M)

Some guy got all the high resolution textures from one of the artists that worked on the game and is making a texture pack for it.

I'm still mad Yea Forums, I'm still so mad.
What's Exevolt's plan!? What's going to happen!? What were the Morbots about? Was Glitch definitely a Morbot?

This game is my white whale, I love it so much and the industry completely let me down. I was only a boy! That was how I learned that companies would fuck over something great just to stop someone else making money on it. FUCK!

The timesplitters trilogy. I have some hope it might happen since THQ nordic has the rights now but i dunno.

It would never happen. Even if they did reboot it they would ruin/remove the best weapon.

Still pissed I never got to beat this before my parents gave my Xboxhueg to my cousin.

>We'll never get a Metal Arms 2 because the IP rights are effectively in the ether

This fucking sucks

Really hoping the rights can be sorted out some day. Would be great to have it revived as a throwback.

Excellent start to the thread

Only the demo that came in one issue of the oficial Xbox magazine in my country. I probably still have it laying around somewhere.

Sid Meier's Pirates! 2004
Truly the greatest pirate game ever made, but I wish they'd taken it just that little bit further (ie: you can't capture towns for the pirate faction), and it has some nasty bugs (treasure maps will literally tell you the wrong location of treasure leaving you searching for hours for something that doesn't exist), and being over 10 years old the graphics could do with an update if they didn't try to redesign anything

>Series creator actually offered to buy the rights back from Jewtivision-Jewzzard
>They refused
Copyrights should just revert if the owner is obviously never planning on doing anything with them.

Attached: 1535334716007.jpg (500x316, 41K)

Well, not -need-, but I'd like to see it.

Attached: 220px-Sonic_Heroes_cover.png (220x313, 126K)

if you can pick up a copy of the game off ebay you won't regret it, generally only costs like 10 bucks.
emulating the ps2 version is also an option

RUBBLE!

POWERPATH!

Don't forget all kinds of interesting systems like:
>Limb damage
>mind control
>enemy recruitment
>vehicles
What a shitty timeline that it had to end after only 1 game.

Attached: 1530104201170.jpg (273x480, 34K)

All the proof I needed to know there is no hope left in this world

Attached: a893ff5c5360156b078cbcc39810089e.jpg (487x720, 42K)

Fuck corporations sitting on IP's. There definitely should be an expiration for when they aren't getting used.

>What a shitty timeline that it had to end after only 1 game.
Credit goes to Vivendi for barely advertising it at all, and Activision making them spend years working on Starcraft: Ghost (never even fucking released) instead of making a sequel

Bobby Kotick should be thrown off the Actiblizz skyscraper top floor

Attached: 1551782800464.jpg (461x461, 20K)

>>Limb damage
The Ripper was amazing for this. You could deconstruct even a Titan from full health to a legless, armless torso. You could even delimb other players in multiplayer if I remember correctly.

Blizzard and Activision are pretty autonomous despite being the same corporation, I don't think you can blame Activision instead of just the Blizzard half.

robots that fart. how silly

Attached: 1195768021172.jpg (357x283, 18K)

>You could even delimb other players in multiplayer if I remember correctly.
I'm not sure about this. I know Glitch himself in singleplayer is immune to limb damage. I guess I didn't play enough multi to remember.

Activision like to repeat the party line that Blizzard is super autonomous, but it's pretty obvious they've had their teeth sank into Blizzard ever since the merger, just look at everything they produced post-2008.

>Break the shooting arm of a mil soldier
>He starts shooting wildly and kills the guy next to him

Attached: 1511402100018.jpg (520x402, 51K)

that's cause Mils didn't have a Ripper variant IIRC
mils had laser, SPEW, rivet gun, rocket launcher, flamethrower, but ripper was for glitch only

Some of the change is also new blood. The Blizzard we have now is not all the same staff we had pre-2008.

GX deserved a HD remaster but shiggy is too lazy to do it
youtube.com/watch?v=mOW0fgOEQEM

Sure, but rockets and I think other weapons CAN cause limb damage. Unless I'm just thinking of the fully upgraded variants Glitch himself had access to.

pretty sure the only reason it hasn't happened is due to poor sales

Supposedly they aren't making a new F-Zero because they can't figure out how to innovate it. But considering GX was damn near perfect, that's not surprising.

I mean that's partially because Activision laid off 60 devs in 2012 (and it was their decision to do so).

>Mfw me and my friend would both play as those hunter killer bots with the tentacle gun arms and cripple each other's limbs, then just fire wildly while ramming each other to see who killed who first.

Attached: 1529101984220.png (280x253, 87K)

what made GX so good relative to X? I liked X and never played GX
I've heard rumors that internal politics are keeping another game from being made

There is but in the case of works created by teams of people the expiration date of a copyright is 95 years after publication. Metal Arms will go public in 2098.

Attached: 55C85DB6-A0B4-4C58-B590-5DDBF1FBB56A.jpg (2350x1230, 215K)

>Metal Arms will go public in 2098.

I fucking hate Disney so much for screwing our copyright laws

My experience with X is minimal. But GX is prettier all around, pretty sure it had a smoother framerate too. I prefer GX's soundtrack (though the pilot profiles are the best music in the game, moreso than the track music).

If GX is that perfect then just give me a port, for the love of god Nintendo. I want to be able to experience it with my own two hands before I get too old to be able to play a game that high speed.

A-at least the graphics will be good in 79 years.

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 19K)

A GX port with all that trackmaker addon stuff would be amazing. Nintendo really drags its feet on obvious things like this.

Both gave me anxiety as a kid

>rent this game
>it's cool as fuck
>get to final boss
>need a certain amount of washers to buy an item from the robo-jews to beat the boss
>game doesn't let you collect them when you replay stages for some reason
>have to start new game just to beat it

THE PUNISHER GAME

Attached: Punisher logo.jpg (1080x720, 293K)

also 30 player online multiplayer but since its nintendo its gonna be horrible to play online

all they have to do is make it 8 player like mario kart ds was

Literally any of star wars classics, from bounty hunter, to Republic Commando, to KOTOR

Dark Forces (the doom clone) is getting a remaster

this

By who, EA? Fucking gross.

Ape Escape

pcgamer.com/au/nightdive-wants-to-talk-to-disney-about-remastering-star-wars-dark-forces/

oh and there's also a fanmade one
comicbook.com/gaming/2019/03/15/star-wars-dark-forces-remade-unreal-engine-4/

I'm more excited about the fan one. Man I hope he doesn't get CND'd. With Disney that seems highly likely.

That's how 90% of these things go, yeah. But you never know, might reach completion before Disney gets their shit together for a CnD

That game was a remake of the original game. But a cinematic overhaul would make this game great. Maybe add 1st/3rd person combat and multiplayer.

I never really got upset or anything by the disney stuff and just thought i didn't like star wars that much, but then I went back and realized star wars had some damn good games that I had forgot about or never got a chance to play. I wish I had played them sooner.

Attached: 1549083770156.jpg (808x556, 556K)

Multiplayer would be fucking amazing

Attached: Untitled.jpg (1492x1500, 411K)

If you guys didn't know the same devs who worked on MAGITS worked on Transformers: War for Cybertron. They even put the SPEW gun in as a nod/easter-egg. The movement of the bots is very similar too. Swinging Ape is still out there.

But you didn't need to buy a chip from shady and mr. pockets, it just made it easier. All 4 (or 5, I forget) chips that you need are hidden in the containers in the level.

>Transformers: War for Cybertron
Shit, I didn't know this. Was that the slight GTA clone?

No it's nothing like GTA. It's a fairly linear game, not open world. It has several weapons for your bot, you can transform into vehicles to cover larger ground or make quick escapes. Fairly straightforward 3rd person gunplay.

youtube.com/watch?v=d4hqgnXHIw8

Sorry, that's MP gameplay. here's SP:
youtu.be/ShrSCRolP4g?t=202

Nice. I hope Swingin' Ape and Actishittion are aware of the following the game still has

>Activision owns it

It's never coming back, ever.

How did they make a video game without a 50/50 ratio of women, PoCs, and transgender folk? it just doesn't make sense

Attached: s-l1600.jpg (1399x1600, 349K)

The game would have been great if it fixed its fucking ammo issue. You would rarely find ammo and have to rely on finding "money" that enemies drop to buy ammo. Once you ran out of money and ammo, you'll never climb out of that whole and bosses will fuck you up. not because they're difficult, but because you don't have a reasonable way to fight them.

?? there were plenty of ammo drops in the boss arenas and every time an enemy drops a weapon, you get ammo
let me guess, you got to Zombiebot King and didn't find out that you could break open the grates over the ammo on the floor by baiting him into smashing them

Yeah man it's strange. Even weirder that the video game was actually fun to play and challenging.

Also, don't all the enemies drop money? I could have sworn the game rained "washers" down on you. It's not a finite resource.

I love this game. I remember my brother buying this for my birthday and then taking me to see the new hellboy movie.

I ended owing a copy for gc, xbox and ps2. This is probably one of the few games i would throw money at for a sequel.

Those screaming junkard zombiebots scared the crap outta me.

Persona 1 and 2 are not as good as you think they are.

Washers actually are quite limited so that user was right there, but he's stupid for buying ammo with washers, the game gives you colossal amounts of ammo and I spent most of the game with SPEW ammo maxed out and still finding more.
Washers should be used for upgrades

You did unlock the final multiplayer stage with the hijackable General Corrosive, right?

Did you get people to play it with you? Was it fun?

Attached: MaximoGTGLogo.png (490x276, 141K)

And I forgot the image.

Attached: Corrosive.jpg (800x870, 188K)

How in the everliving FUCK did you people beat Hold Your Ground?
Ten times worse than any Souls boss. And I'm only playing on Normal. I swear this level skipped some playtesting.

Oh come on, it's not THAT hard. It had a pretty forgiving reticle. If you want a hard shooting gallery, look towards Timesplitters 2 monkey circus. Snipe those watermelons was damn cruel.

I hated the mission where you played that flamethrower robot as a kid. Not only was it really creepy and filled with infinitely respawning enemies but I got lost in there forever because I didn't see somewhere I needed to jump up to. I was just running back and forth through those tight corridors having my health whittled away by robot flood spiders.

I want a Sunshine remaster. It's still my favorite 3D Mario game.

Attached: super-mario-sunshine-delfino-plaza.jpg (1200x901, 135K)

why, it still looks good

While that's true, they can make it look a lot better with modern rendering, and they can fix a lot of the quirks like blue coins being filler, and a lot of the missions being samey. If they could add new content to it would be perfect.

this

>sneedposting on Yea Forums

I really wonder why nobody has done anything with metal arms. Just fucking nothing man, after all these years. Even the most bullshit obscure games have had something done to them, but metal arms? Fuck all.

Metal Arms was literally perfect, all it needs is a remaster.

My favorite gun was the one that allowed you to control an enemy, as well as the grenade that converted them into allies.

That actually makes a lot of sense to me, i got a lot of Metal Arms vibes from War for Cybertron, seems it wasn't just in my head.

>mfw escaping from the final boss in the Arena by faking my death
>mfw just barely avoiding the final boss during the second encounter to get to the consoles
>mfw controlling the final boss
>mfw fighting the final boss for real as the final fight after he survives the space ship self destructing and crashes on Earth

General Corrosive is always going to be one of my favorite bosses. Literally every encounter against him was absolute kino, and built up the final fight absurdly well.
