When the Legend of Zelda first released, this magazine (Shounen Captain) thought Link was some kind of hot redhead elf girl.
Just imagine what could have been.

holy shit, this gives me a complicated feeling
4/4
She looks sort of like the female character from BS Zelda on the SNES Satellaview, but this magazine predates it by almost a decade.
Well, anyway it's food for thought.
Do you think we'll ever get a female Link, or is a Link as a boy too iconic to suffer the change? Especially after the Hylia retcon in SS.
He does have that androgynous look going for him though; a good number of people thought his design in BotW was feminine enough to confuse him for being a girl.
I'm happy either way, but breaking from what has at this point become tradition could be cool. Or you could add a gender-select option like in the aforementioned BS Zelda. However if the next few games are going to be open world, with the way Zelda games are designed they might be better off doing some kind of Resident Evil A and B route thing where you take entirely different paths through the story, albeit in the same game world.
>that cleavage
Forgive me father, for I have sinned.
>that pantyshot
very classy
I still don't get why the electric armor has a fish head.
But I'd be interested in a game where zelda is the hero is wisdom and Link is the prince of hyrule
Shit, redheads suck
That is some shitty fucking art. Link doesn't dress in huge bulking armor as a guy, why would he wear frilly girly hyper-effeminate anime shit if he was a girl.
Literally none of that is hyper-effeminate
>why would he wear frilly girly hyper-effeminate anime shit if he was a girl.
A better question would be: why not?
What? There's nothing there like Clalaclan's armor from Shining Wind, which is what comes to my mind when you say "frilly girly hyper-effeminate anime" armor design.
They're just re-imaginings of Link's BotW armor selection. The Rito one in particular is perfect.
>Link could have been a cutie redhead
I dislike our timeline now.
Boring. We dont need another incel game.
Stop making this thread!!!!!
It was the thighs, they've been pushing some serious thighdeology shit since the beginnning regardless of gender
Better than Linkle
we need fan art of this
Man I miss this style of anime art
Please don't post my wife.
The Zora set is over-the-top and does not look remotely practical for swimming. The Rito set doesn't have the bird motif and why would you ever wear thigh-highs in a snowy climate. The Guardian skirt and helmet looks way too clunky, especially compared to the rest which may as well be a skintight suit that shows her thighs, which makes no sense for an ancient set of technological armor. The Sheikah top shows skin which is dumb for a ninja suit, but even dumber is the flap covering her ass - again, dumb for a ninja suit. The Barbarian and Hylian headpieces are overdesigned and frilly.
Because Link, in every incarnation, is a lad (in this case lass) is an adventurer who gets shit done. Adventurers won't wear caps if it's not sunny and they're certainly not going to be fighting skeletons and hiking in a dress that reaches their knees. If any part of his costumes are vestigial or just there to look nice it's because he got it from one of the fantasy races.
I like that flat, hot red hair.
