Got any good cow machines? I can't think of a way to breed them without manually feeding them, since I don't think they eat dispensed food like villagers do.
Made a cool chicken farm that autodispenses the eggs to double as chicken replenishment and chicken executor and felt like I could do it, but I just don't know.

I think swamps are the best for me. Not everyone likes the darker, murky colors, but I think they're cool and comfy. Add some fine vines growin around on my home, good use of Glowstone to light things up at night, especially from underwater, and we got some peak cozy going. If you build in swamps too, you are based and I'd love to see your builds.

My favorite places to build are on mountains and secluded islands. Both have a very comfy sense of isolation and safety that makes them fantastic places to build.
Also I think the only biome I haven't built stuff in is the roofed forest biome. If the trees were a lot taller I would, but right now they're just forests that spawn lots of mobs.

Yup. The pre-biome worlds (and even more so a worldgen step before that) were much more interesting. Crazy terrain features were the best part of exploring, nu-MC worlds are absolutely boring to explore.

I miss playing minecraft, both by myself, exploring deeper and deeper into the world, creating temporary bases on top of trees and underground; and with friends, building castles and fighting wars only to then team up for a building project.

I want to play again. What version is best? Should I just buy it again from Microsoft or have they made it completely soulless?

I'm an edgy bitch who likes Dark Oak and Taiga biomes. I also enjoy taking all of my friend's cobblestone and build a giant kingdom while they do nothing but masturbate to their chest fulls of diamonds in their dirt huts.

I wish it had come out when I was still playing the game regularly. Lots of the features were things I've wanted for quite a while, but I won't be able to appreciate them since I'm not able to enjoy the game like I used to.

Problem is they design it to work on phones first and pc/console second, so there are a ton of limitations due to it having to run on a 6 year old phone. What I hate the most is how flat the worlds are, they just feel so lifeless and boring. You don't have to build around the land or anything.

Cracked version is free and up to date. But online only works if you connect to offline servers which are usually the torrent team ones and some /vg/ or /r9k/ ones that go up rarely.

I actually play more Bedrock than Java recently as that's how I have to play with my friends. Another issue with Bedrock is how shitty mob spawning is. Even in Hard no mobs spawn anywhere except the 5000 drowned in a 1x1x2 hole.

You may have the RAM but not the VRAM required. Friend had a similar issue, they removed immersive railroads from a modpack and it stopped eating up all the VRAM and they could play.

Delved a bit deeper into my first cave. Underground river. Blocking the water exposed a lot of iron. At the bottom of the well, I met my first mob.

Here's the beach hut. I finished up the basement and added and added access to my roof so I could look out at night.

Planted some reeds and two hemp sprouts by the lake. I'll make a more formal farm once I get more seeds.

Digging sucks. Efficiency V is too slow. There is not even anything beyond a 1x1 breaking tool. Hoppers are unoptimized pipes and are only good for the redstone aspect. The ocean is now strangely full compared to every other biome.

I've been playing on the latest version and honestly I don't know why people say new minecraft has worse generation. The giant whacky mountains are rarer but I'd rather have more biome variety than just one kind of whacky biome.

I have a worldgen mod called Beta+ that does it

I haven't played the game since beta. Do I still own it or did MS jew me out of my right to play it when they bought the game? Also if I wanted to play it right now and then drop it 2 hours later should I just download the official version or some other version? I don't want any mods that alter the gameplay unless they're just QOL or a good tileset.

How hard would it be to create a simple mod adding some new blocks? I have never made anything in java but i know MATLAB

For me, it all went to shit after the tall grass update, which was the beginning of soulless terrain generation changes (the major shift was 1.8).

I will never forget those early beta days, especially the multiplayer. No mods, no scripts, just pure vanilla multiplayer experience. The first server I ever played on was one of the greatest gaming experiences for me. A couple of guys built a fort on top of a hill and along with some Croatian guy I tried to break into that fort and destroy it, but the fuckers were all dressed in armor and shooting us from the walls, medieval style. So we decided to travel away for a while and build our own base.

I remember him building a fortress inside a mountain cliff and had mined a stairway all the way down to the bottom, it even had a 3D feature which confused me. This game consumed my high school life. Of all the old mods I remember, I really do wish the team could get the Mystcraft mechanics into the game officially. Like juat either adopt it or rip it off completely, because having a well balanced outlet for complex world generation control within an active world, at the very end game, is the exact kind of refresher the player needs just when things are getting stale. It's like a second wind for every game instance, or like Terarria's hard mode.

If they could get the main mechanics in from Mystcraft, Buildcraft, Industrialcraft, and the good forestry related mods, I'd be set.

See if you can get some friends together for a server, then. Some friends and I have this deal where roughly once a year we set up a server and play it for a month or two before we all get bored. Everyone pretty much picks a different "main" mod, and we just go from there.

I WAS on a private server. I got rid of tons of fags who just wanted to farm and farm and then give it all away to everyone which ruined half the game. We couldn't get any players who weren't redditor shitstains or kids who just wanted to attack us and then never come back. We even made it PvP only and nobody wanted to play because they might die. I finally left when someone had like thousands of diamonds because they had a farm. Like what's the point in the game now because nothing can kill us any more and nobody wants to fight each other, we're just making diamond castles all day. The gun-ho 4channer crowd that wants to play the game in an interesting fashion is not common in the MC community

And the game DESPERATELY needed a non-player threat. About the only thing that can still reliably kill you after a while is falling off into the abyss or lava

I had a really small house in the middle of a plains biome, the interior was empty but I had one set of stairs that went to the basement where I had a bed and a bunch of chests sorted using signs.
Also, quite a walk from the house I had a mine where I used to dig down stairs(the type you'd see in a normal house going down about 10 steps and then changing direction) and every 10 to 20 levels I would dig a giant hole to find minerals.

Anyone used to play those super hostile maps?
