The cases so far have been weak, I'm only on case 3 but the game is easily redeemed by following elements, namely: >music >visuals (backgrounds) >animations/sprites >character interaction >Susato being best assistant, figuratively but also in term of actual skills >Sherlock deduction thing
It's fucking great. I hope DGS2 will live up to the hype but I wouldn't mind a comfy game like this once in a while in the AA series. I also hope we'll get to have at least little cameos with ancestors of known characters like Larry or someone from the Fey clan. Would be cool.
I no longer have my 3DS and it lags on Citra. Anyone on YouTube playing it?
Ian Bennett
>have to rehack 3DS to update luma and play the game t-thanks
Mason James
>I hope DGS2 will live up to the hype I'd say it does. It even goes a decent way to fixing the weakest case in the first game. >I also hope we'll get to have at least little cameos with ancestors of known characters like Larry or someone from the Fey clan. Would be cool. I remember exactly one such reference in DGS2, and it's probably not to someone you're expecting.
Oliver Moore
Just did it rn, took me about 10 min
Lucas Roberts
The character interaction doesn't save the garbage cases. I'm on Case 4 and it might be my least favorite in the series so far
Alexander Gutierrez
This. And it's not easy to update it.
Asher Thomas
The first case was fine and I dont get the complaints other than them doing the roundabout with the beefsteak bite marks instead of them just focusing on the big gold koban.
However I just started case 2 and Susato seems pretty insufferable right now. People seem to like her tho so maybe she gets better.
Juan James
Can a prepatched cia work on older Luma? I really do not want to bother updating from it.
Evan Edwards
Shu Takumi specifically said he focused less on cornering and breaking down culprits and more on solving mysteries for this game, because he wanted to evoke the feeling of Sherlock Holmes novels. The second game goes back to typical Ace Attorney murder cases.
Owen Ortiz
Is it fully translated? I thought it was only case 1 and 2.
Jace Ortiz
what the fuck how old is your version? i just used the in-Luma updater
Aiden James
Yeah at first she's a total bitch but trust me when I say she's the best assistant
Connor Walker
Isn't the first game supposed to be pretty bad? And they've spent years translating only the first one?
Thomas Mitchell
>he wanted to evoke the feeling of Sherlock Holmes novels. But Sherlock Holmes novels are good so it failed on that front.
Carson Bennett
I'm fucking retarded and I updated my 3DS' hacks after not having touched it in like two years, and it took almost no time at all
Brandon Martin
It's fucking terrible but necessary for 2 so it had to be done
Samuel Cooper
so old that the in-luma update doesn't work anymore and I have to remove the old hacking method and install the new one
Jack Jones
If you are before 7 , you are not on bs9 (aka ahl9 or Emunand), so it does not work
Aiden White
you fucks overexaggarate every damn time
Chase Mitchell
Is that retarded anti-piracy still present?
It actually doesn't even affect me (I have a real cart) but I hate that they were so pedantic about it.
Zachary Murphy
No, it's fucking garbage stop defending it
Henry Reyes
APOLLO JUSTICE IS NOT A SHIT GAME. FAGGOT.
Camden Richardson
You're right. DGS1 is tho
Christopher Hill
Sorry, I'm too busy enjoying the game. Please don't be too angry.
Bentley Richardson
So the hype wasnt worth it after all the whining for a localization?
The game is supposedly "okay" but they plot dump like hell in the final few moments of the game and try super-hard to set up the following game instead of spreading out that development more evenly.
Luke Hill
Is the first case the longest first case in the series? I'm skipping text and got all the evidence right but I've been playing for 3 hours now and it's still not over
Chase Brown
There's an updater in Luma? I was using the Lumaupdater program
Michael Ward
I want to lick Athena'a anus.
Juan Taylor
The patcher doesn't work for me. I boot into it, press A, and then it just freezes. Top screen shows the Ace Attorney logo, and bottom screen is blank.
No spoilers, but you can kind of tell they were going to originally make it a trilogy before the first game's sales short-circuited the idea. Chapter 3 in the second game ends in the sort of climax you'd think would be sequel bait and Chapter 4 goes into detail on what might've been a playable flashback case if they'd had more flexibility.
Noah Lee
It drags on the longest. The final third was just padding
Charles Ramirez
Is this the one set in America in the roaring 20s?
Brandon Williams
Do you have the japanese DGS1 installed, or the game cart inserted?
It needs one of those to make the patch.
Ryder Evans
The mysteries and it's solutions are Case Closed/Detective conan tier trash though.
Zachary Carter
You need to own English DD/SoJ to use it because it takes the font from that game
Sebastian Roberts
anyone got the CIA version of this patch?
Zachary Price
I uninstalled those a while ago.
Jason Parker
It's set mostly in England in the late 1800s.
Landon Gonzalez
I warned you dogs, I warned you years ago about how DGS1 was a meh Ace Attorney game (which is still a decent game mind you, no AA it's actually truly bad), but you didn't listen.
Hey people, you do know that Ace Attorney Investigations 2 is actually going on this week, right?
So WHY THE FUCK WASN’T THERE A STREAM FOR THE CASES THIS WEEK GODDAMMIT!??!?!
Julian Bell
No nigger, you and a few other fags have been saying that forever, and everyone was just like "yeah but we still wanna play it, retard", but then you go on and make this exact same post again.
Why the fuck doesn’t Yea Forums care about Ace Attorney all of a sudden?
Chase Wilson
No one can play it without re-hacking their 3ds
Landon Rivera
This fanbase is on life support, just like the AA series
Anthony Phillips
the trilogy rererelease probably rejuvenated some folk
Aiden Long
What? We've had a few threads today
Leo Thomas
My 3DS is at the latest version.
Sebastian Thompson
PSA ALL CAPS SO PEOPLE SEE
DON'T FUCKING PLAY THIS NOW BECAUSE IT'S LITERALLY JUST FIRST HALF OF THE STORY AND LITERALLY EVERY CASE BLUEBALLS YOU WITH A CLIFFHANGER AND THE GAME LITERALLY DOESN'T HAVE A FINAL SHOWDOWN OR PLOT RESOLUTION AND LITERALLY ENDS WITH "TO BE CONTINUED"
WAIT UNTIL DGS2 IS TRANSLATED AND PLAY THEM BACK TO BACK BECAUSE THIS SHIT IS LITERALLY JUST AN EXTREMELY OBNOXIOUS PROLOGUE TO DGS2
Ryder Gray
it's playable enough on Citra if someone would post the cia file generated from the bps script in the opening post
Nathaniel Flores
WHERE IS THE AAI2 STREAM WHY DOES NOBODY CARE ABOUT NOT GETTING AN AAI2 STREAM
Josiah Gonzalez
Why are you being so harsh now? Because no one could play it until now?
Ian Sanchez
That's an exaggeration. Does it leave larger questions unanswered? Yes. But does it bring each of the cases to a conclusive result within the chapter? Yes.
Jacob Harris
I've literally been in most DGS threads warning people of this. DGS1 by itself is not a good game, it's arguably the worst Ace Attorney game by a large margin. It has great soundtrack and visuals but the writing and plot are fucking atrocious on their own. It's literally a glorified setup for DGS2 where all the payoff comes. DGS2 by itself is a good game, but having played DGS1 beforehand it's a great game because all the loose ends and plot threads started in DGS1 are resolved in DGS2. Playing them back-to-back is literally the ideal way to play, in fact in Japan they don't distribute the games separately anymore. They are literally sold only as a dual pack together now.
Dominic Morris
this thread clearly has a couple of haters, let the have their fun.
now about the CIA file....
Connor Barnes
jesus christ what's with this game and you fucking idiots overreacting? seriously, what the hell, it's fine to play
get over yourself
Juan Thompson
Stop being a fanboy bitch and fuck off uwabami
Gabriel Richardson
sorry bro, you're obsessed with a weird pet peeve
Cooper Campbell
Why do you want to literally blueball people? DGS1 is definition of a game that sucks you off to the point of almost cumming and them ties your dick and you up and locks you in a dark room leaving you with massive blue balls. It's not a good game to play and then be left hanging 4 years waiting for fantranslators to finish the sequel. DGS1 and 2 are two halves of the same game and same story and need to be played back to back otherwise it's a genuinely shit experience.
Jaxson Nelson
Can someone who has already patched the game please upload it?
Chase Myers
or just the CIA patch, the base game is findable enough
Connor Martin
Anyways to play this all on PC?
Caleb Adams
Did anyone manage to find a free apk and obb of DGS? Doesn't matter if translated or not. Just a free Japanese apk
Hunter Hill
>DGS localization moves the story to 20's New York >looks exactly like London circa several decades ago >"Well, Manhattan has had a lot of influence from British immigrants."
Kevin Evans
Let people decide for themselves instead of being such a fucking faggot about it, maybe? Everyone knows at this point that it ends on a cliffhanger, but that's fine for most who aren't autistic about it. Have you never consumed any media where you had to wait for a sequel that tied up loose ends?
Jose Jenkins
>needs b9s It's been so long since I hacked my 3DS I wouldn't want fucking everything up. Learning japanese seems like a better plan honestly.
Carter Stewart
>Have you never consumed any media where you had to wait for a sequel that tied up loose ends? I have been burned by a few (FUCKING BERSERK) which is why I don't consume such media anymore and literally wait until they are all done.
Carson Gonzalez
The game itself runs fine for me, but the anime cutscene at the beginning was chugging like a motherfucker. Is this normal? First time I've used Citra.
Stop getting so mad about video games, bro. Let people play what they want.
Justin Sanders
I've been real unimpressed with the game so far, I'm struggling to get through Case 4. Case 1 was fine for a tutorial case. Case 2 I respect for trying something COMPLETELY new but these games just really don't have the mechanics necessary to make a satisfying 100% investigation case.
I think case 3 was great though, I know it sounds reductive to just say that but I just really liked it.
Case 4 I'm still on but I'm really not into it. I don't mind that it isn't a murder case, that's all well and good but half-way into the game it feels like a filler case with no bearing on aynthing unless I am completely blindsided by the end of it. I would think Naruhodo's first case in Britain would have some more weight involved.
