Nintendo platforms are called baby toys all the time but Yoshi is a case where the game is literally designed for pre-schoolers. There's nothing to talk about because Yea Forums is not the demographic for the game. Nobody is playing it.

Yoshi died when he became a gay character since the release of Yoshi's Story on N64. He is no longer the same character i used to like as a kid, because of that dumb gay voice acting.

No it's a good game. YI Snes is nonstalgia bait without being near as hard as people remember.

The core Mario team stopped developing the games and they started targeting young children instead of all audiences.

New Yoshi games want to be slow, easy going sight seeing tour for whatever papercraft style it's playing around with. Yoshi's Island was fast and a legitimate platformer.

I played the first bit. This is a game literally meant for the under-7s and the severely mentally handicapped.

I gave up on the third or fourth level when some bug stopped me from getting through a level, so it's also buggy.

Woolly World was so much better, it's kind of sad.

Yoshi was never good.

There are just too many great games coming out this year. I would normally get yoshi but there are 7 games I'm planning on buying. I don't even have to wait long. Sonic racing is in May and Mario Maker is in June.

It's another fucking yarn like yoshi game. Kirby games at least have more substance. This is just the obligatory one on switch, like new super marios. Like who the fuck even cares anymore.

What's wrong with it? My only gripes are the final boss and some of the repeat bosses. The game in general is very good though. The art style blends very well with the gameplay. The music is very good for the most part. Levels are unique and very solid.

Play the Original and Woolly world first. If you really love those games then I'd get crafted.

No, they were fine. TTYD and PM did just fine with minimal overarching story and telling their shit in chapters. TTYD was already straying into dangerous territory and SPM just flat-out had zero to do with Mario.

The games gimmicky as hell and has a lot of level unique mechanics like the other yarn games.
I imagine shit like that racing level required a lot of extra time to develop.

Played the demo, found it alright but not my cup of tea.

No they werent you dumbass. It was the interactivity and the scenario writing of which plummeted after TTYD and only rectified with Color Splash. The stories ranged from trash to mediocre and the characters were weak and undeveloped.

I don't mind if it's slow. If it's something that I can play on a slow Tuesday night in bed them it's fine by me.

Well, Island was actualy internally developed. Everything else is outsourced crap. These games continue coming out just because they sell at least a million every time, it's clear Nintendo doesn't care.

He also said that the old gameplay was stale and the game just looked the same as the existing ones.

Now, the new director did fail to come up with a good new gameplay on his own afterwards though (why did they even get a character designer to become director if they were going to do a big gameplay revamp? The whole thing was stupid).

The egg-throwing mechanic is absolute garbage, Yoshi controls like shit, the level design is terrible, all of the bosses use the same size-changing gimmick, and it's the game that solidified Nintendo's "kiddie" reputation in the late 90s.

I'm pretty sure there must be some branding limitation going on. It's not like those other characters have appeared in Mario and Luigi either.

Then you had the bizarre situation in the Rabbids game with Wario and Waluigi Rabbids, but not the actual characters.

Because the old director was a clown that as soon as Miyamoto stopped being a producer (SPM) came up with hideously stupid level ideas and a fanfic tier story.

Super Paper Mario was a spin-off of a spin-off in the first place though. If the main series had gone in that direction afterwards there'd be more of a point.
