pfftahahaha
another failed sony game
They're just stopping to sell it? That's weird.
I really wanted to like Driveclub. But it just wasn't very good.
People bought this new (£50) and bought TWO (at least, I dunno if there were 3) season passes for this.
I remember how they hyped up this game as a launch title and then it ended up getting delayed and releasing as a mediocre racer
tried that game in vr somewhere few years ago. sort of cool but i don't see it taking off anytime soon.
Microsoft have done this many times, ask any Forza fan.
Microsoft delisted all the DLC for Forza Motorsport 2, 3, 4 and Horizon 1 and the actual Forza Horizon 1 game and didn't bother to tell anyone until after they had already delisted them.
They also delisted Forza Horizon 2 (both the 360 and Xbox One versions) and all DLC for it as well as Forza Motorsport 5 and all the DLC for it too, but at least actually had the decency to give there customers some notice this time.
I wonder if it's a situation where the licenses on cars are running out and not worth renewing or something.
Do the games need to be always-online? Because if not, that's probably the main reason they'd also be delisting them.
Bingo.
It sold over 2 million, not a flop. Still, Evolution Studios took a hit because slow launch sales.
Game is offline mostly.
Licensing ran up, probably.
>only 2 million
>with massive price cuts
>not a flop
>Defending driveclub
>BUT XBOX!!!!!
>>only 2 million
>>with massive price cuts
>>not a flop
The game recouped dev costs at least, it might did a tiny profit, in fact, Driveclub was launched as a PS+ title
>Defending driveclub
>BUT XBOX!!!!!
Because other companies did the same as well.
Goldface has turned to basic defensive whining what a sad turn of events
>The game recouped dev costs at least
Source?
>It's OK when the other guy does it!!!
His ass. There's a reason Evolution was closed.
Car licenses expiring plus Evolution Studios being dead.
Speaking of which is Onrush any good? it was already on Plus months ago but never got around to try it
redpill me on this series
is this suppose to be like granturismo?
So Sony is as bad as Microsoft now?
I wish MS warned me this in advance when Forza Horizon 2 got axed.
I'm still mad.
I only played the old granturismos but it's kind of shit. You mostly get supercars and rarely you get stuff like BMW M6s and cars around that price point. No old cars at all either. No tuning upgrades just cosmetics.
>now
they've been since PS4's lifespan started.
>start charging for PS+
>hike the price up $10
>forces studios to make vita games
>kills them after because they dont sell
>now censoring games
I guess "start charging for online play" is a more accurate statement than "charging for PS+" because it used to be optional
also they stopped giving away vita and ps3 games with plus, so now you only get 2. Whilst Xboners get a 360 game and an original xbox game alongside their 2 other games
>forces studios to make vita games
>kills them after because they dont sell
I wonder if the same thing will happen to the studios they have making PSVR games
That sucks man PlayStation has really dropped the ball with racing games this gen. I am waiting for the gt sport closure announcement.
Sony just killed StarBlood Arena(VR). So keep an eye on the if you wanna see if they explode. I don't think Sony owns them though.
Was this the racing game the was capped at 30fps?
Yes.
man, I remember them aggressively shilling this game for YEARS
You know, giving away the older gen titles is something I've always thought Sony should do with their service. A PS2 game or two a month on top of it, or maybe an all-you-can-play library of PS1 titles like Nintendo and the NES games with their subscription or something. They've got a super strong catalog if they can get some publishers onside but so far at least they've largely been ignoring it. Last I checked the PS4 still has a worse classics library than the PS3, too.
Those games are delisted, true, but the online functionality- leaderboards, multiplayer, etc- are still available and probably will be for a long time (MS already said they have no future plans to take down 360 games' servers, so One games should last even longer)
Sony is taking the DriveClub online down completely later this year. Forever. Shit, how long were Gravity Rush 2's servers up? A year? Those probably cost a handful of dollars a year to keep going, so what the fuck are they doing with the $60/yr they're getting from millions of people?
Chances are once the PS4 kicks the bucket, you'll have to rebuy your classics too. I highly doubt that they're going to give the PS5 backwards compatibility because i remember when Shawn Layden said "looked ancient, like why would anybody play this?”
like you said, i'd like if they gave half of a shit like xbox does, as slow as their backwards compatibility list is growing.
>turns of servers for fan favorite games like this and gravity rush
>stops giving away ps3 games in ps+ monthly games
>more and more ps3 game servers are being turned off
this does not suggest good things about potential backwards compatibility. even microsoft still gives away og xbox and 360 games and they're all playable on xbox live as well.
sony just keeps getting worse and worse
We'll see with how they handle the forthcoming PS5 launch, but I think Sony's competence is tied to a cycle. The PS1 was a strong launch, so they swaggered into the PS2 and by the time the PS3 hit, they'd let it completely go to their head and fumbled the launch. Because of that though, they worked incredibly hard to turn the PS3 around and by the end of the generation it was overall probably the better platform versus the 360. But after having the PS4's massive success basically handed to them by MS falling flat on their face with the xbone, they're letting it go to their heads again.
>Shawn Layden said "looked ancient, like why would anybody play this?”
Shawn Layden didn't say that, that was Jim Ryan... who is... now SIE's president...
>Sony does something
>Yea Forums screams about it
Every time.
Oh, sorry, I stand corrected then. That is worse though.
Don't worry, bros. Sony's investing in more story-driven 3rd person """games.""" Really breaking the mold!
i just checked all the forza games are still on the xbox store and horizon 1 even supports xbox one x enhancement now according to the store page.
do you know if I can play forza horizon 1 on xbox one with a wheel? I'm specifically interested in that because the 360 only supports bluetooth wheels and mine is wired
Liar.
>Snoyggers keep killing their games
Bloodborne is next.
>Sony is investing in games
If only Nintendo and Microsoft could do the same
>>Sony is investing in games
>games
user...
People are still posting Driveclub webms in defense of this game, it happened just a few hours ago
More than the competition is doing at least
Shhhh
no more games now
only movies and sales threads
>he actually thinks Sony is making games
Oh no, he's actually clueless
Like i said, more than Nintendo pushing cardboard and Microsoft straight admitting defeat
You would think, after The Order: 1886 flopped, they would be reluctant to put out movie-wannabes, but oh well.
>he's doubling down on it now
Oh yikes
Yeah but then Uncharted and Nu-GoW released and all the normies bought it. Not to mention TLoU.
dunno i've never played it on xbox one
pic related. i have no reason to lie. you do for whatever reason.
Can't forget Socom Bravo 3. Sold a separate online pass which people who bought the game used needed to play online, and the servers still shutdown barely a year after launch.
>Driveclub
If only Nintendo and Microsoft could double down on games
Seriously?
>Sony will kill the Bloodborne servers and remove it from sale in the next year
It's time to enjoy stuff while it lasts. Sony is fucking dead already, so might as well start moving on now.
>Implying anybody cares
As long as we keep Bloodborne
or boards.fireden.net
>online pass
Oh god I forgot about that shit the industry pulled for like 2-3 years
