I suggest you look up what random means. If you aren't retarded you notice patterns that allows you to bait out certain attacks like the Lightning Strike or his wind attacks.

What you need to do is close the distance, so he locks to certain attacks and now you can put him on high posture damage faster
Its only sucks when he does some hyperarmor moves, just dont be greedy
In fact a lot of bosses dont know how to deal with close rotating around. Butterfly gets completely destroyed by dash-attack sequnce. Genichiro and Owl to a lesser extent too.
Also use some fucking candys already.

Second and third phases are bad imo. I cheesed him by umbrella-ing his jump-ins with the spear and hitting him with the umberlla and sword double slash after.
Took me about 90 mins figuring out his openings but really, fuck this guy, made me use up all my jizos for nothing.
