I played this after I finished Underground2 and I fucking hated how different the driving felt. Your car feels like a tank in MW and you can't even drift worth a shit.

Its pretty fun but it sucks the direction that NFS turned, you are some sort of car God fighting against the entire police force because breaking some speed limits, it becomes tiresome. It was better when you were just a bunch of guys in supersports looking for a thrill and the local patrol pursuing you had the same if not more force to take you down

It's not that bad. It easily has the best physics in the series, the perfect middle ground between arcadey and realistic.

Mate the cops do jack shit it's a 3 lap race and they show up half way on the final lap and do fuck all and only do something once it's all over

those seems like very... specific reasons to hate the game? the first reason is outright wrong. the second reason is common in racing games, the last reason can be turned off, at least on PC.

The Eclipse is fucking awful though, it has ridiculous understeer and crap acceleration. Worst car in the game is probably the CLK500 however.

The driving feels the most responsive it has ever gotten up to that point, I also dig the mountain drifting, so not that weird of an opinion.

Contrarian boomer opinion: NFS 3 was the best in the entire saga, the pursuits were funnier and had lots of fun as a kid downloading mods, cars and tracks for the game

U2 is better than MW for the tuning options alone.
Last year I played online with some friends and we had a blast
It's kinda luck based really, in some races they show up at the end, in others they show up at 30%

they usually have spots where they jump you, and either stick with you till the end and start a separate pursuit, or you go fast and evade them before the race is finished
I like carbon but generally people prefer MW and U2 so that's why I said weird opinion

I like the setting of Underground 2, the overall atmosphere and all that, but never really got into it, even when I was younger. Most Wanted was my jam and I played the shit out of it, but Carbon was the one I loved the most and the one that holds best on replays.

carbon did do those dynamic soundtracks very well, I wish EA used that for the following games

The worst games in the series are the always online entry "the need for speed", the run, payback and to a lesser extent; the criterian games most wanted and undercover as well. And that's not even counting the v-rally games.

Pro street is upper mid tier at worst.

Undercover is better than Pro Street or, say, Rivals. Still couldn't make myself finish it though.

Needs more lens flare, depth of field, film grain, smeared screen and motion blur.

Fuck do you mean responsive? It has the same feeling of "my car is stuck to the ground and only the world moves around it" that MW had with the downside that you have several races like the drift and tailgating ones where your car gets completely fucking goofy and violates all laws of physics.

>"crew" (party) members with different classes
>territory conquering, with boss "battles"
>after you take over territiry, there's random encounters of a sort, when other gangs try and take neighborhoods from you, and you either let them be, or defend your turf
>it's story driven, and you can take alternate routes

I will say that I have found the controls better in other games, but the features of Carbon make it my favorite.

Yeah. A lot of things felt off, or odd about that one. Like, somehow it felt really mediocre, but technically didn't really present a bad game. Just felt like a dime store MW clone, in certain ways, to me.

I remember finding out as a kid that you could buy the "used" Porsches for much cheaper than the new ones, repair them, and then sell them for the price of new ones for easy money.

Was real pleased with myself, game became a breeze because I could buy every car within a few minutes.
