Fuck streamers

>Devs will do everything in their power to make their game as accessible as possible to streamers
>Offer zero support for players who don't want to end up on tv/CockGoblin's stream
>Viewing a streamer's publicly accessible, time-delayed footage can get you banned from dozens of games for "stream sniping"
>Allowing hordes of shit-head tweens to harass and attack a player, all because that player happened to do something a streamer didn't like on air, is totally acceptable
>A video of you destroying a streamer is seen as "bullying" and "toxic".
>A video of you destroying random players is totally ok so long as it's a Twitch clip.

Why is this shit allowed?

I just want to play a video game online, yet every other game I play has at least one no-name faggot trying to "make it big" on Twitch. A decade ago even the most monumental of fuck-ups was remembered for, at most, a week by a couple dozen regulars on a server, now even the most minor of slip-ups is forever immortalized in some turd's stream highlights. Fuck 'em.

Just started watching a lot of twitch this week. Keepin it comf with smaller games.

So hows that channel coming along, buddy?

cringepilled moonmoon_ow sub

reminded me of a time where some youtuber was uploading twitch clips and comments said "no twitch chat = no watch", people unironically think that twitch chat is the best part of twitch instead of the actual content. pretty much nobody can read shit in twitch chat, everyone has to act like a hivemind to even get anything across since so many retards are spamming.

I'm coming along well in ur mum, faget

How does the existence of streamers actually affect your experience with the game in any way though

lmao

So you don't like streamers, you don't watch streamers and somehow
>Viewing a streamer's publicly accessible, time-delayed footage can get you banned from dozens of games for "stream sniping"
this made up story affects you?

Why do people even bother streaming on twitch? 100m users VS youtube's 1 billion. You can reach a way wider audience on youtube.

I can't get my head around what I'm seeing here. Are you OK? I don't think you are. Seek medical advice.

Yup not like it was massive news in steaming or nothing.

:tears:

I find all aspects of this stream culture to be disgusting.

>s-s-stream sniping isn't even real!
lol get a load of this faggot.

>He's never been harassed for weeks at a time after absolutely destroying a streamer
user when I'm playing video games I don't want to have to worry that the guy I'm humiliating might be wrangling his fanbase to come after me.

People literally have full conversations with other users in a stream's chat, then they have the balls to ask what they missed when everyone starts spamming shit. Stream chats are basically daycare for retards and young children

>>Viewing a streamer's publicly accessible, time-delayed footage can get you banned from dozens of games for "stream sniping"

This is probably the worst thing too come from streaming ever and it's amazing that somehow this is even accepted. Who TF do these guys think they are too get players banned from games including pay 2 play games such as PUBG, for suspicion that they were "sniping" them. It's like me getting elimed by a guy I think is hacking so just getting everyone who elims me banned on suspicion of hacking.

>"Hey its my birthday today, thought I would share the love! Heres 50 dollars."
Imagine your son running away with the money you gave him for his birthday only to be giving a huge chunk of it to a already well off guy who plays videogames and makes funny sounds.

You type like you're 11 but your point is valid.

I've seen some video's of this supposed stream sniping, and while sometimes it is obvious and blatant that they are really sniping. Often a streamer will just scream about "stream sniping!" with no evidence or even anything outside of reasonable suspicion that they just got downed by a normal player, just playing the game...

Boomers. Stop. Aren't you all old enough to remember Gamepro magazine, the arcades, those stupid Nintendo power television shows that would show little tips for NES games? Livestreaming is a natural evolution of our hobby. It's thousands and thousands of hours of gaming related entertainment wrapped into one single "cable channel".

any TriHard s here?

>user when I'm playing video games I don't want to have to worry that the guy I'm humiliating might be wrangling his fanbase to come after me.
You realize stream sniping is probably the easiest way to get your own following right?
Or are you going to lie to me and tell me you have 0 interest in free money and you're a thin skinned bitch that can't take bants

Thoughts?

Hard not to be jealous of big streamers. They get so much money thrown at them for practically zero effort and it's funny how a lot of them call what they do "work." Most of them got big just by means of seniority or becoming an overnight sensation and getting a lucky break like Kripp with Diablo 3.

It's also fucked up how cocky they get once they get big. They will go from being humble and grateful for people just tuning in to actively shit talking their viewers and even subscribers/donators. "Haha thanks for the 10 dollars retard enjoy your ban"

There aren't a lot of those types though. The vast majority of streamers are down in trenches and will never make it big because it's literally just luck.

MFW the only friends I regularly went out with to go to cinema, cafés, etc started talking in twitch emotes which made me even more shut in. We are 22, why would they do this?

There's a time I watch Forsen playing meme games dedicated to him. Made me understand the emotes after a while.

I do understand them I just don't get why you would say shit like "pogchamp" and omegalul out in the public or even say at all.

>Made me understand the emotes after a while.
Oh they're easy enough to understand, but why speak like that? It's like one of those fags who insists on using the half dozen Japanese words he knows - it's obnoxious.

>>Viewing a streamer's publicly accessible, time-delayed footage can get you banned from dozens of games for "stream sniping"

Name a dozen.

>We are zoomers, why would they do this?
truly a mystery for the ages

I don't really have a sense of jealousy for them, I'm more upset that they exist. Obviously i'm jealous of the money they make, but it' superseded by the fact that nearly every game that's come out in the last 4-5 years has prioritized streamers. It's the idea that games are setpieces strung together, amplified. They don't care about creating cohesive experiences, they care about long linear corridors that have occasional moments of "hype" that they can get some relevant face to react to, then ship that out saying "LOOK AT THIS GUY HE PLAYS GAMES FOR A LIVING AND HE THINKS THIS IS COOL". If you've ever been to any sort of game release event, you know what I'm talking about. You have to sign about 15 fucking waivers saying that they can use your face, your likeness, your words, splice them in any way they want to advertise the product.

Streamers get popular for any number of reasons, good on them, but I hate that developers cater to them as opposed to the less vocal playerbase. it effects every type of game, from always online stuff to single player games.

>say 'mah TriHard' in chat
>get banned

Last time I checked if I am a Millennial faggot or a zoomer faggot I got conflicting answers, some pages said 96 is zoomer, others said millennial

I agree that saying twitch emotes IRL is as bad as spouting memes there.

Yeah dude. Now reply to me about how not paying for shit you enjoy helps the people making it because you're a principled consumers and companies make games for fun dollars and not real dollars.

I pirated Lunar Nights and then paid for it on steam because I liked it. Make of that what you will.

There are a few ok Streamers.

Jerma in particular, but he is more of a comedy act / raving psychotic slowly loosing his mind.

It's like anything else (TV/movies/YouTube/videogames/ect) 99% of content is offensively bland crap meant for the Lowest common denominator.

Splain why you think twitch is better to stream on than youtube.

100m viewers VS 1 billion. I see that as 99% more effective.

>how a lot of them call what they do "work.
i agree with you on the rest of the post but it absolutely is work and i wouldn't want to do it. it's body and soul destroying work. sitting in front of your screen all day long while being forced to play the same games over and over, reading through that braindead chat and having to entertain people is not healthy for body or mind.

don't reply to trip faggots faggot

youtube's audience is potentially bigger, but even the largest youtube streams (outside of corporate sponsored shill stuff) never break 100k. pewdiepie, who has an active viewerbase of 5+ million (as in, 5 million views within 24 hours), has never g otten more than 125k viewers on a livestream. youtube is for videos, not streaming.

go back to sleep, Dwane.

Honestly I love twitch chat, it truly embodies the spirit of the internet.

Would one be allowed to stream vidya on Pornhub?

Indeed

Okay, I'm listening, but how many viewers do big boi independent streamers get that aren't corporate cucks or vidya tournament cance get?

Silly user. Pirates only tell others that they pirate for attention.

On twitch? Anywhere from 0 to 70-75k (assuming you understand being sponsored doesn't inherently mean every stream they do is sponsored). Past that there's usually something bigger at play. real life celebrities (as ninja had/did), tournaments, sponsorships etc etc.

On youtube, it's rare to see anyone above 10k viewers, and even THAT is a stretch. I do some intern work for a relatively new lets play channel. 30,000 dollars a month on patreon, about 2500 patrons. When we do livestreams, we rarely hit more than 1200 people watching concurrently. People just don't watch livestreams on youtube, the community that watches videos on youtube and the community that watches twitch stuff are quite different. And I say "twitch stuff" as a general term for gaming livestreams, obviously, because it's the most relevant, most well crafted system we have for it thus far.
