Nah, the biggest benefit of a good repack is that you get the game with all the latest updates, in a convenient package. If you download a fresh Fitgirl repack, you know it's the latest version, it's been tested, etc. And it'll likely work with any updates that do release since the files aren't screwed with. Installing a vanilla CODEX or RELOADED release and then installing a fucking dozen or more updates in sequence is a pain.

They compressed 4GB down to only a few MB but the end result of that was people spent more time waiting for the decompression than they would have spent just downloading the 4GB.
