Can I buy confetti anywhere?
you can farm it from the samurai in ashina castle
what's the deal with Fearlessness Powder? seems like it's the exact same thing as Pacifying Agent
is that just what it's called in the European localization?
does ng+ change enemy placement or add any bosses?
>launch Sekiro
>beat Isshin within 5 minutes
I absolutely steamrolled Genichiro and phase 1; still can't beat demon of hatred though.
Yes, but only after you've completed the incense for Kuro.
The blue-robed samurai in the castle drop it, though.
it adds extra bosses to already existing boss fights
Is it possible to go back to the first area where you fight Genichiro in the beginning? It's locked now
near the end of the game yes
no new bosses but different enemies in certain situations
I am at SSI and haven't beaten Demon of Hatred yet, but just now I got Kuro's rice from Rice loli, can I give it to him somehow or did I fuck up?
How do I kill corrupted monk? He has ridiculous HP and low posture gain.
You can eventually but pretty late
The fuck you're talking about? If you're about the double ninja fight in Ashina Castle, it was already like this on NG, same goes for the double spear dudes right before reservoir in the end gameg
How so?
Illusion? Spam Ash and firecrackers, if you have snap seeds or confetti use them afterwards.
I just beat the Demon of Hatred today after taking a break for a few days. You have to treat it like a Dark Souls boss, just like phase 1 of the Guardian Ape. You also need the Suzaku Umbrella unless you have superhuman reflexes.
Now I'm stuck on Isshin. The hitbox on that wind slash is fucking bullshit.
You go there again very, very late in the game.
which one?
Ya fucked up, at least for that ending. You have to be able to talk to Kuro to give him the rice.
just hp kill him. It's a slog confetti speeds it up.
His attacks take too much of your posture, snap seeds do 30% of his health.
>If you're about the double ninja fight in Ashina Castle
You can backstab the longswordsman and puppeteer him. You have to go up through the tower though, instead of climbing in through the window.
you need to back up when he does the slash
you just need to block the illusions facing the middle of the bridge, then you get 3-4 free hits on the monk
>He
>Him
Or you can use the ceramic shard to lure him out.
This
What was the centipede doing in the gun fort? The shot midget suggests that the gun fort didn't like senpou monastery, and cannon dudes among ashina troops suggests they're allies, so what's giraffe doing right there?
Also monkey-senpou connection in general. There's monkey booze near the demon bell and monkeys get possessed/ are potential reincarnations of dead rejuvenating children are some links. So what about the actual centipede infestation? Did they get the immortality centipedes from sunken valley?
Make sure to eat the rice ball in front of Kuro, he has a cute reaction.
>you need to back up when he does the slash
We must be thinking of different attacks. He throws out a vertical wind blast like the Divine Dragon. The hitbox is much wider than the visual, so it hits me even when I dodge.
Damn this part was pretty cool.
I'm assuming you mean the fake?
You might be too early to fight her, there are several other bosses you can do to get some attack upgrades. Another thing is that she has a shield on her left arm, so you have to attack her from her right or back. Some other things that help are the mortal blade or divine confetti
Her real version actually has really high posture gain
Alright i just beat corrupted monk on like the 10 try and got the spikey red orb thing.
Am i suppose to do anything inside the carriage behind the red orb or is that just there.
Also remember reading that corrupted monk is an illusion of the real one and want to know how similar in move sets is the corrupted and the real one.
Also what is the red spiky orb thing for?
just beat the corrupted monk fuckboi, and his spam attack. Now what am I up against?
dodge left, get two whacks in
parry his attacks, don't bother with jump countering because it makes him regain more posture than it deals
wa la
and I meant his second phase with the three shinobi executes
The opposite I think. In Fountainhead there are centipedes nesting in the lake, and the fountainhead waters flow down into the sunken valley. So Guardian Ape specifically probably drank water with centipede eggs and became infested. Idk about the monkey-senpou connection but monks probably discovered that phenomenon in their quest for immortality and tried to replicate it.
which phase are you talking about. In phase 1 he has a rare vertical slash that sends a replica, you just need to run left (and close in on him since the replica lock him in place to get 1-2 hits) and in phase 3 he sends two back to back wind slashes, again you just need to run left.
The giant kidney stone is one of the ingredients for a fancy perfume you're making
The cave is a dead end for now but after you return to Ashina and make the incense, you go back to that cave and enter the carriage to advance to the last area
>Also remember reading that corrupted monk is an illusion of the real one and want to know how similar in move sets is the corrupted and the real one.
Phase 1 of the real one is basically the same but easier.
Then she has two more phases, which involve teleporting and some other bullshit but honestly I found it to be literally the easiest boss fight in the game; I beat it on my first try, and I wasn't even expecting a boss fight when it happened.
>Also what is the red spiky orb thing for?
Kuro needs it for the incense that will take you to the Fountainhead.
Four things:
1. where is white pinwheel for fat guy?
2. should i send him to ayanma instead?
3. how to beat fucking snake eyes?
4. if i jump off the cliff by the old lady npc at senpou temple will i land somewhere new or just die? (like bottomless hole jump)
>Wolf is too autistic to fucking cook rice
nothing else to do there, the kidney stone is a main quest object for the incense burner
>Sekiro 2
>You can play as Sekiro AND Divine Child. Sekiro still uses a Katana and the Child uses a Naginata.
I really hope Sekiro 2 happens or we at least get an early 00's tier Addon that depicts the Journey to the West, chinese myth could be pretty cool.
The folding monkeys were specifically said in game (iirc) to be guardians for the dead divine children so they aren't disturbed.
literally how do you beat lady butterfly, I've died more on this boss than any other fromsoft game
>1. where is white pinwheel for fat guy?
There's a hidden path in Senpou Temple. It's before the bridge where you fight the Armored Knight.
>3. how to beat fucking snake eyes?
They are descendants of the Okami clan, so they're weak to Sabimaru's poison.
>4. if i jump off the cliff by the old lady npc at senpou temple will i land somewhere new or just die? (like bottomless hole jump)
No. Later you will find rice. Give it to her and she will give you more information.
The real one has an illusion technique that summons up to 3 copies for a single strike each in the second phase. In the third phase a centipede grows out of her mouth and she can spit at you for massive terror buildup.
1. continue through senpou and you'll find it. If you don't, you're blind and/or retarded.
2. nah, spirit him away
3. learn moveset
4. no
I felt like shit when I had to kill my drinking buddy.
Can someone please make a webm of using finger whistle next to the big group of monkeys in the Sunken Valley?
It's hilarious. They all start fighting each other and the framerate tanks.
They also rarely drop Mibu Wealth Balloons and having them kill each other is significantly quicker and hilarious.
Stop fighting her like a darksouls boss and learn to deflect, it will be painful at first but it'll help you a lot later on.
1. From the idol that's near the planks on the flank of the mountain (or from the bell demon idol if you got there). You have to drop down on a rock platform that's somewhat hidden.
2. You mean the doctor/surgeon NPC?
3. Which one/where? There's two of them.
4. Don't jump, you'll get there later once you use the kite (but you need the pupeteer ninjutsu)
the droplets don't remove the rot now and i don't know what to do
Is Rice Loli is actually another Infested a meme theory? Cause it seems like there is something to that, she's the result of an experiment by the Senpou monks after all.
Have you fought Gyoubu Oniwa yet? Lady Butterfly is meant to be the second boss, not the first, and trying to fight her without the attack upgrade from beating Oniwa is just masochism.
If you have gotten the upgrade and you're still getting fucked, you can either cheese her with sidestep spam or just throw shuriken at her when she tries to do the jumping grab.
Never heard of that happening. Are you on NG+?
you can't do anything with the orb yet
don't worry about the second corrupted monk, he's a million times easier
She's the only successful immortal so she's not a corrupted infested.
I made a video almost a week ago youtube.com
how do you get the key for the boss?
>2. You mean the doctor/surgeon NPC?
There's a merchant (Ayanama?) who asks for something strong and stupid to help him loot the battlefield. If you give Kotaro the red-and-white pinwheel you can send him to the merchant.
Aggressive attacks will make her hesitate and stall her sweeping strikes.
After a few hits she will do a downward/upward strike which you can't parry, at which point you should dodge left/right and keep striking her from behind.
If you're at the ghost version then you can use snap seeds and confetti to kill her very quickly. If you're at the regular version you can cheese her by
>Phase 1: climb on tree limb, jump execute when she first appears
>Phase 2: same shit from the highest branch right above the exit
>Phase 3: Spam upgraded fireworks to stunlock her
Sweet guys.
I now have a vitality of 15 and attack power of 5.
If i give kuro this red kidney stone thing will it advance me to late game?
I still want to finish Mt Kugo and Sunken valley.
Anything i need from those 2 areas for Kuro or is the red thing al i need for the incense.
Im just trying to avoid finishing the game early without finding as much as i can
You can stunlock her by slashing, dodging and slashing again. You can also punish her unblockable. In the second phase you have to either kill all illusions or run around in a circle until they disappear and you dishes all the energy balls they turn into, then it works the same.
If you are struggling you can fight other bosses first
no, i need to remove the rot so i can show the pinwheel to the retarded monk but he just wheezes and coughs and i can't do anything
i've tried near different idols but nothing is happening
>going back to the estate after lady butterfly
>the boss at the end of the level
holy shit what a cheap piece of shit boss fight
the boss feels like something you would face in new game+
only got to the 2nd phase once
ty
no I haven't oops
Find Owl.
It's a meme theory, she'd have centipedes crawling around her or some hint of evil involving her if she was infested
did you show the blood sample to emma, rest, then talk to her again?
Be aggressive. youtube.com
>and trying to fight her without the attack upgrade from beating Oniwa is just masochism.
You can easily defeat her without fighting Gyoubu first though.
You need to have the stone, the flower, and the Mortal Blade. You can do those three in any order.
So you have to go to the temple and valley anyway.
I believe the only area that's actually optional is the Hirata Estate.
You have to use the pouch you get given!
yeah no don't send him there, find the white pinwheel
Based
i don't know how to get the blood samples, the only one i've managed to get from is the thief but for everyone else the option never comes up
After fighting Isshin, the Sword Saint I don't think I will ever have problems with a boss again.
He's like the penultimate fight testing all the skills you should have acquired while playing the game.
you need to do both those areas anyway and you can't actually do anything with the stone untill you have the other items
Why don't you just stay away from Yea Forums during major releases?
but i've never had to use it before
Did you just consume the item, or did you actually use the option at the idol?
You only need one
but I killed owl
go talk to emma
Im back to ashina outskirts, I was to abandoned dungeon, sent some nigger samurai and opened way to sepou temple. Is that where I should go now? The game really opened up now and Im feeling kinda lost. I really dont feel like fighting another purple ninja in the well and the spear general near the remnant is basically unbeatable for me right now (stepping on his spear doesnt help)
still can't beat the demon of hatred though
Is there any point to caring about dragon rot? It doesn't kill the vendors and I don't see a reason why I should bother curing it.
Did you fight the boss on top of Ashina Castle? That's where you're supposed to go next.
But you can go to the temple now if you want.
You can also go to the Sunken Valley below the Great Serpent Shrine.
Depends on if you want to do any side quests
She is obviously infested (successfully), just Kerrigan in Starcraft. But loli lovers don't want to accept it
Just fight him like you would a Souls boss. Also stick to his fire hand since that's where the longest tells for attacks come from.
fuck, now i feel stupid
he's a dark souls boss, like phase 1 of the ape
most of his attacks have shit tracking and the rest can blocked with the suzaku umbrella
>finally beat true end final boss
>went beast mode and smoked genichiro and isshin's first two forms without getting hit or using a single recovery item
>kill him with 4 gourd uses left and full health, no resurrections spent
This fight probably has the highest skill floor in all the games Miyazaki's made. Also, the Dragon's Homecoming ending could be teasing a reverse Nioh sequel, where you travel to the west.
>go to NG+
>have 10k sen just clearing the outskirts
dont bother grinding in NG desu
How do get hidden temple key if owl was killed???
I did the same the first time
NPCs literally have 0 side quests
I'm just glad I'm not the only one who tried. Don't need a webm this is good enough for me.
hirata estate is 3 years in the past so he's still there
ah
you think that because they're all sick
How the fuck does Isshin get down from the castle so quickly? I just found Tengu chilling at the Great Snake Idol after talking with Isshin when he is up in the castle. Explain this lorefags.
Tengu has some, there is also some lady that wants me to kill a carp and a son that wants me to sacrifice an npc.
There definitely are several, and that's without even looking for them or telling to everyone again
He's in two places at once.
Just accept it.
pic related
isshin is a nigga
He is a shinobi. If you can make it that fast, so can he
the same way you can teleport from kuro's room to dilapidated temple, a secret shinobi door
>how to beat fucking snake eyes?
Like you do every boss. Learn the three moves they do and play simon says with them. Slash and blast fire in their faces when you can. You can parry his reach around and pull grab attack so you should dodge and instantly parry just in case the grabble would catch you anyway.
His real danger is the gun obviously.
He shoots in three different ways besides the grab shot.
One is after a roundhouse kick. After deflecting the kick, wait half a second and then dodge.
The other is a quick step back and moving the gun to hip one handed. This is the fastest shot and he usually does it when you're spamming R1. Be ready for it.
Third shot is the sniper shot that is easy to dodge because of the windup. Only does it from distance.
>if i jump off the cliff by the old lady npc at senpou temple will i land somewhere new or just die? (like bottomless hole jump)
I was exploring long before Genichiro. I just jumped in without a second thought and at some point there were hookable branches.
I thought he was a samurai.
tengu don't get sick
>a son that wants me to sacrifice an npc.
what?
Shinobi are samurai, or at least were
No fall damage and fast? Don't forget that most Ashina elite warriors trained in against powerful opponents and some in the wild. Immortality is nothing without power.
>His
why does everyone think the Snake Eyes are men? they have feminine voices and are descended from the Okami clan
when is he at the idol location?
i've never seen him there and i beat the game
So i'm supposed to just accept that, but you guys freak the fuck out when i suggest the Rice Loli might actually some bad intentions?
He is a honorable samurai. When does it mention that he is a shinobi?
>Did you fight the boss on top of Ashina Castle? That's where you're supposed to go next.
No, how do I get there from ashina reseivor idol?
Also I must have missed the serpent shrine because I didnt see any signs of the snake so far
Historically speaking, they were commoners.
In-game, Wolf is an orphan and I don't think Owl or the Sculptor ever mentioned being samurai either.
He is, he just dresses up as a Tengu Shinobi and fucks around trying to kill invaders. Tengu doesn't even reward you anything Shinobi related.
DEATH TO THOSE WHO INSULT RICE LOLI
>Lady Butterfly is meant to be the second boss
I just killed ape and I still haven't found more snapseed for butterfly, so I've ignored it.
This desu
>everyone say I should eat the rice Kuro made for me
>seems to have no effect
>an old lady begs for it
I want to give her the rice, is that useless?
I'm having trouble with Lady Butterfly since I've run out of snap beans. It it simply a matter of saving shuriken to knock her down until phase 2, keeping the pressure on and not letting her summon phantoms?
I'm finding that I either do well or she immediately stomps on me as soon as I enter. Is it just a matter of getting gud?
you're supposed to give the rice to her
>using snapseeds
You can beat LB without snapseeds and you can beat her before any other boss. Look at the video in
I SEE THE CENTIPEDE DEFENSE FORCE IS OUT IN NUMBERS TODAY! YOU WON"T FOOL ME! WE KNOW THAT YOU CONTROL THE ASHINA FEDERAL RESERVE AND ARE SYSTEMATICALLY REPLACING THE POPULATION OF ASHINA WITH CENTIPEDES! DAY OF THE GRAPPLE WHEN?
You can outright ignore the summons and she'll snap them into projectiles to hit you. Just sprint like an idiot for 10 seconds.
You don't need snaps for Butterfly.
What's the point of them, anyway? One seed gets rid of some illusions, but they die in onw hit anyway.
You need to give her the white rice of the Loli not the one Kuro makes.
you don't need no damn chili bean to beat her, she's easy as fuck dude.
Rice exists for the old lady's lore exposition
Time is convoluted.
And for you to pop when you're this close to beating a tough boss and you're out of notestus.
ok you fuckers, explain how the fuck you can dodge Demon of Hatred's bullshit flaming sword attacks and charge.
Man, the Divine Dragon fight is easy but kino as fuck. It truly feels like From Software has improved since Dragon God in DeS.
You just dodge the sword attacks and jump when you see the perilous attack symbol. The charge will only hit you if you're on the ground. It will literally never touch you if you jump
Is this guy Isshin?
I was wondering how the hell Isshin knew to call Wolf by the name Sekiro when that guy gave him that name.
>charge
Just jump
>flaming sword attacks
They have some of the worst tracking of any attack in the game. Get up in his ass like you're fighting a Souls boss, just watch out for his stomps.
>charge
Jump, nigga.
Wait, this dude is Isshin?
That's possible since there's not a lot of tall old men in this game. It's somewhat strange that everyone is both on you side and against you.
Because they're good at combat.
Most likely. Tengu and him are the only ones that call you Sekiro and he also sounds like Isshin.
Divine Dragon's name is Tomoe ?
Yes, and Isshin calling him Sekiro was the hint. He also has dialogue with Emma that implies it as well.
>guy puts on mask
>fools anons
Tengu would have no reason to give you the Ashina style scroll if you were an enemy. You'd be just another enemy in his way if Tengu was his seperate entity.
are most of the outskirts idols gone after you beat the dragon?
1. before you cross the hooded bridge explore that are for a path along the side of that mountain
2. reward wasn't worth it imo
3. Use posture or def candy, sneak attack if you can, weak to sabimaru, expect follow up shots to her knockbacks.
4. No, you need puppet ninjutsu to complete that 'puzzle'
man isshin is a hard fucking fight
The guy dying outside Butterbitch told me the only way I can beat her is with snap seeds.
youtube.com
Meh, thought about replaying NG+ with english dub, but only wolf's english voice is ok
>I just jumped in without a second thought and at some point there were hookable branches.
:O everyone else said no so im gonna try it!
Isshin is explicitly on your side until you betray Kuro, since he sent Emma to help you save Kuro
Not sure what the deal is with Sword Saint Isshin though.
It's not long or in depth enough to warrant a general.
The only indication that Tengu is Isshin is that he calls you Sekiro.
Hell sucked ass and he wanted a good fight before going back.
Also the rice loli actually sounds like loli and is voiced by the same actress as Kuro
And his hair + voice
One that wishes he was a shinobi
And that he looks literally identical to Isshin and has the same voice.
Ironically the last phase is easier than the third phase (or fourth when you count the Genichiro fight)
The second Mortal Blade can open a path to Yomi, Sword Saint Isshin is the real Isshin that entered the real world in his prime again.
Did Isshin and Gericho get their immortality from a centipede, from kuro or from tomoe?
Is kuro's familly related to another dragon? Cause he doesn't look like using tunder
And that Tengu's outfit is in his room.
The tengu costume is hanging on the wall of his watchtower as well.
>pulls out a fucking spear out of nowhere
I just wanted to duel a sword saint
Okay thanks for the info guys
Isshin dies right before the end. Genichiro uses the mortal blade to summon Isshin in his supposed prime to see things through. Not clear if it's was a permanent thing since you finish him.
I always forget to use the pocket ash
Look closely at the back of his room, the costume is literally hanging there
Surgeon. I was phoneposting
Genichiro has divine loli tier immortality
his moves are just so fast, i even struggle to get our of the second phase (genichiro phase is ezpz tho)
so i hear there's 4 endings, including 1 bad ending which skips a whole area.
am i going to know which one is the "bad" ending and how can i make sure i don't get it?
i just beat the ape and i'm heading to the bottomless pit
But the Ashina family took control by capturing the divine heir, kuro.
He's dumb and not a cool shinobi like you are. Don't take everything at face value.
>The virgin sword saint
>The chad sword/spear/gun saint
Damn i really need to progress in this game
I'd suggest trying to get a feel out of the second phase first instead of going with the goal of winning to see what type of moves he does. Isshin is basically memorizing every attack he can potentially do.
DO IT
>Tengu gives you a manual for Isshin's personal combat style
>Tengu and Isshin are the only NPCs that know about the secret fifth skill tree
>half the interactions between him and Emma, including the letter you can find
are we playing the same game?
I wish he wasn't dead, bros
If you talk to him after beating Owl and have aquired a secret art he gives you the same skill tree tengu does and even uses the same words
No real indication. Suck it up and go NG+ if you pick the wrong one like I did.
Betraying Kuro leads to the bad end
Seething DMCuck.
>am i going to know which one is the "bad" ending and how can i make sure i don't get it?
Bad ending is betraying Kuro.
You literally get the choice "stay by your master's side"\"abandon everyone"
Just remember to always remain loyal to your Lord.
>am i going to know which one is the "bad" ending and how can i make sure i don't get it?
I don't know for sure but I'm guessing it's triggered by siding with a certain NPC who is obviously a bad guy and not even trying to hide it.
He is at the snake idol before the invasion. He asks if you have mastered any special combat arts. I haven't aced anything yet but i'm going to farm right now cause i want to finish this characters side quest, which apparently no one knows he has.
>obeying the code is somehow bad
The code is the only reason you're protecting Kuro in the first place. It's objectively the correct choice.
>I was phoneposting
How dare you
FACE ME, SEKIROOO!
Why would anyone betray their loli(male)?
>which apparently no one knows he has
t. owl
It's comfy to do it from bed
>fight two of your friends right after that
>stabbing your father, whom you're supposed to obey, five minutes later
You got it wrong user, the only reason to follow the code is to protect Kuro.
ONE!
>Betraying your father
Oh no no no
What's supposed to happen in the end with the dungeon surgeon and the samurai? I kept expecting the zombified samurai to reappear looking for revenge but I beat the game without ever seeing him again.
Protip: one comes before two.
You have to progress the Surgeon's story until he gets betrayed and then you go down into the Underground Waterway
FUTATSU
>Face me, Sekiro™ Shadows Die Twice
I cant believe fromsoft did it again
I dont have to fight sword saint if I take the bad ending?
>do charge attack at Owl
>he Mikiri counters me
Did you get the carp eyes?
If so, did you get into the surgeon's cell? You have to swim underwater to get there.
Once you do that you can progress the quest.
A code must be determined by the individual.
This is what I've decided.
Please, enlighten me, where does this side quest go? Since you have obviously done it.
this thread is an owl-free zone
>Death of a shadow...
>But wolf...shadows...die twice...
fucking dumb gook miyazaki i will destroy you
it's not a quest
when you get the last skill in any skill tree and talk to isshin, he will give you the final skill tree
You get the secret fifth skill tree
It ends there when you get Mushin. Once you got all your items for Kuro you can go back there again when the castle is being attacked by Shinobi, you will find a shitload of corpses around the shrine and a new mini-boss.
Yeah, I brought the carp eyes to the surgeon and later found the way into his cell and overheard him talking to himself. I guess I missed whatever was supposed to happen next.
what happens if i give that village elder the water of the palace?
Why the fuck did he even stab me after the Lady Butterfly fight? What was the reasoning? He talks about having to put me down but I still don’t get it.
>it's not a quest
I would pretty much consider it a quest. You don't get the Ashina-style until you killed those rats near the Oniwa boss fight and requires of you to learn a final combat art from any skill-tree.
Well shit. Here i was thinking i had found something special.
You need to explore the waterway again, but on land this time
Give it to him and find out. Who else are you going to give it to?
So that Kuro would give him his blood
>when a shitposter arrives in an otherwise-pleasant discussion
Turns into a Fountainhead Noble.
oh shit so that's what that's for
I forgot that guy existed
this, I just breezed through lady butterfly and the drunkard on NG+ first try
It's night time at Ashina Castle now. Is there anything new like when it was afternoon?
why doesnt my controller work on the pirated version?
Not really except that you are locked out from most areas of Ashina (and that there's a new boss in Ashina Outskirts.
Mine worked just fine throughout the whole game. I bought the game after almost beating it though.
what the fuck just happened? i rested at this idol and this started happening
Try confronting warrior
ps4 or xbox controller?
>last night I finally beat Demon
>feeling pretty fucking good
>boot up sekiro this morning
>Isshin fucked my shit up
I can barely do anything to him once the spear comes out
ps4?
get ds4windows and tick hide ps4 controller in settings
ps4
You don't actually kill him, right? He looks quite alive after you take his tears
Stop attacking and start deflecting.
Yeah, that's why it doesn't say SHINOBI EXECUTION and why the tears are referred to as a gift.
I'm guessing even the Mortal Blade can't kill a god.
he's still alive
same with the folding screen monkeys
He can't be killed to begin with.
What the second user said. If that doesn't work and you have an Nvidia video card, turn off the NvContainerLocalSystem service using Task Manager, remove the controller from your computer using Devices and Printers at the Control Panel, then reconnect it with DS4Windows open.
demon of hatred has a sword? thought he just had a Manus arm except on fire
it's a prosthetic arm because he's the sculptor
he never showed up at the great snake place for me even though I did the rat slaying part
>same with the folding screen monkeys
Are you sure about that?
>it's this retard again
yes he can be killed, you're just not trying to kill him
you stab him below the eye, it's not a lethal blow
you probably just didn't visit him at the right time
it doesn't matter though, you can get the skill book later
gotcha faggot. holy shit, he's actually harder here than in the end of the game
i'd feel really embarrased if i lost this one in ng+
If you beat him in NG+ it should just end the game there and give you a bonus ending
Help guys, why is Jinzaemon not appearing at Mibu Village? I met him every encounter, last meeting was the blood trail in the poison pools.
>no joke end where you kill him early
C'mon from, have a sense if humor.
shinobi are ninjas dumbass
Wait, isn't the dragonspring sake made from the same water that makes people go insane and turns them into ayys?
Why it don't do the same to our NPCs?
So what changes if you beat him there? Do you get some bonus shit and a cutscene, like in DeS?
if i somehow manage to kill isshin is that the end. can i go back and kill remaining bosses
The ayy lmaos turned into that way because they still aged, just didn't die from drinking the water.
Same cutscene plays out except a ninja throws a shuriken to throw you off balance before the arm cut.
i took the line about the difference between honor and victory to be a jab at souls pvp nerds and their 1v1 honor faggotry
it probably wasnt a jab but it was still funny when i saw it
just a dif cutscene with a shuriken that comes out of nowhere, wolf gets distracted and genichiro cuts his arm off, typical lame From stuff
they could've done a lot of shit here
Does anyone have any advice for making it through Genichiro's first two phases without dying?
Is there an easy way to farm purple guys in Ashina Castle end game?
Deflect.
did anyone else not see any lightning attacks on Isshins third phase?
keep him up close and front
deflect his 10000 hit combo, find the pace
mikiri his stabs, pretty easy timming
when he charges up his whirl attack, jump kick him
and dodge the overhead slash like
If you never see lightning attacks in third phase, odds are you spent most of it running far away from him like a pussy.
Is there any way to get all 40 prayer beads in 1 playthrough by going for the dragon return ending?
>After training, sculptor and his bud would just sit up here and watch this while drinking since they had the whistle.
learn his melee combos, one long combo he has is really good for taking his posture down. in 1st phase he always does a thrust attack after jumping melee attack, mikiri that shit. 2nd phase you just have to react to different perilous attacks and you're good
You can get all prayer beads in any ending that isn't Shura
>Owl Phase two is literally the first phase again with shuriken after the jump and less opportunities to punish his attacks.
>Also the least threatening kamikaze bird I've ever seen
Underwhelming after getting through it, my dudes.
I was right in his face most the time, see
made that webm
only saw phase 3 twice before I beat him tho
you could probably go through the purification ending path but only kill the 2 minibosses and leave owl then do the dragon returns ending
>stuck on sword saint for way longer than i thought i would
>"fuck it ill do another area then come back"
>stumble upon demon of hatred by accident
>stay insanely focused, kill him on my 2nd try
>blood fucking pumping
>run back to sword saint feeling like a badass and kill him on my first try
what a great feeling
I think you can get locked out of 3 beads if you don't do purification's story line.
It's 2 beads and you're still going to do the steps to unlock that ending if it's your first playthrough. All 3 ending sidequests can be done in a single playthrough and at the end of the game you get to pick which one you actually do.
Therefore the only ending that actually locks you out of beads is Shura, because it ends the game early.
SHURAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I'VE FINALLY KILLED A HEADLESS! THREE IN FACT! Also whose bright fucking idea was it to make the max number of emblems 19? Especially when there's combat arts that require them. Whoever they are, they should be whipped with poison ivy.
Just started and I really like the game so far but hate the magnetic attack targeting from enemies. If fromsoft doesn't want people to dodge certain attacks why not just make dodging costly in some way? Getting 180 snapped onto by a sweep or grab or during an enemy chain attack is just jarringly unnatural. I'm never sure when to expect it especially against enemies like the drinker whose grab and CQC look so similar. It's like the quarter muncher syndrome from souls games multiplied since everything does way more damage.
I think he meant the ending bosses being different on other scenarios
SS Isshin/ Isshin Ashina
Does bell demon's cure give you anything other than a higher chance for item drops?
Max number is actually 20. That said I still wish it was higher due to the cost of things later on.
which am I supposed to kill first butterfly woman or the fire bull
struggling with both
From doesn't care if you dodge or not, the "problem" is that you and others dodge too early or you are trying to dodge an attack that the game tells you specifically you have to jump over it to avoid it. The tracking sucks don't get me wrong, but the reason it tracks is because to the game you dodged too early and get punished, no matter how stupid it looks and this applies to all non-sweep attacks.
Can someone tell me how to beat Leader Shigenori Yamauchi?
Whenever i hit him he hits me back
>go fight the Armored Warrior
>parry him off the edge instead of deathblowing him off
>he doesn't yell ROBERTOOOO
I'm actually upset by this. I was looking forward to hearing it again.
The Bull.
Just go kill LB, she isn't that difficult. Just be aggressive. Look at this video for reference. Bull is pretty easy too
personally i killed the bull first, then killed the armor guy at the top of the big steps right after, then went for seven spears and lone swordsman.
Then went for butterfly with more heals/vitality. Also get the carp skills for more posture damage.
doesnt matter theyre about the same, on my first playthrough i did butterfly before even reaching the chained ogre
i didn't eavesdrop on emma cause I thought it'd ruin my dragon ending. There's no way to do these 2 minibosses?
I just use the bloodborne knife usually
you fucking what
Okay, I just beat owl.
And the idea of making a backup save to to get three endings tires me.
Should I just rush through the first two endings and then do the true ending, and from there ng+ shura ending? But rushing through wont make me enjoy it.
I find it bullshit that it takes half of your fucking health for a measly 5 emblems.
he would have cried if he wasn't streaming
just do the rest of the endings in subsequent ng+s
It is in the &appdata% roaming files on your PC.
alright boys the last boss of the game.4 fucking phases? How do i do this? help me i'm so close to getting off this ride.
>on shinobi hunter
He just kinda falls off with no thud. It's really unsatisfying.
Wait was Armored Warrior supposed to be thrown off the bridge?
I did it by accident. What happens if you just deathblow him and he doesn't fall?
lmao bitchboy weeb you can hear the quivering in his voice
How can people be this stupid and bad? I'm not git gud memeing, seriously the game's systems aren't that difficult when you practice a bit.
The fight continues endlessly til you either die or he falls off.
Wew. I guess I just got lucky that he fell off the very first time I fought him.
He tells you that hes fucking invincible every time you deathblow him.
Final form Genichiro is a pushover as he doesn't have his bow. Prologue genichiro is easier than castle Genichiro because he doesn't do his jump back arrows and will only charge shot a heal.
Genichiro himself is actually really, really, really stupid. Not as stupid as first form Isshin or Owl 1 but really stupid nonetheless. All of his attacks have redic windups, he graciously lets you attack without moving until an attack hits him because his AI is polite, and all 3 followups of his helmsplitter have big fuck off "please counter me" timings" on top of refusing to use any of his extended kit as long as you don't move more than one foot.
The only boss that actually can stop you from murdering them with no regard to health is Owl 2
Castle Genichiro is stupid because he won't actually do his bow followups if you just wait until he puts his hand back on his katana. So his jump back shots can be completely negated because he's polite due to you being polite.
If you didn't do that quest before you beat up the dragon, you can't do it now. Beating the dragon is the PONR. I think technically you could finish the rice loli's quest as long as you give rice to kuro first.
>shinobi hunter
keep going until you can do the first 2 phases almost flawlessly then focus the fuck up for phases 3 and 4
Isshin wanted to honour the wishes of his grandson, that's why he wanted to kill you. He also loves a good fight.
Just mikiri lol
Does anybody have a quick rundown, I can't make heads or tales of the early plot. Big Bow Man kidnapped the kid and cut off my arm, but the kid is working for him? And I have to get him back? What happened 3 years ago?
literally shaking
how do you kill the giant carp? it just won't die.
Whats with this games obsession with destroyed bridges?
don't drag Genichiro like that
Yeah I get it. It's hard to preempt the right timing of an attack to dodge or deflect if I've never seen it or the way an enemy can string it out of other moves though. If deflecting was as responsive as me pressing right click I feel like I'd hardly ever get hit but it demands a delayed buffer that's easy to miss if you don't want to block and gets me wanting to just reset from checkpoint on the spot.
god I love sekiro and all the mad casuals it exposes
20 is the max
There are killable carp and unkillable carp. The killable ones are well above water level, easily spotted. There are unkillable ones under the water level.
Final boss 1 and 2.5 phases of final boss 2 are really stupid.
For Final Boss 1.
Use the purple umbrella to soak up his Mortal Blade. Then hit him in the face with it. If you fight correctly after this, he will never use it again.
Attack twice until yellow deflect. Block the follow up he has technically 5 but realistically only 4
>Jumps back
Walk forward and smack him in the face
>attacks
Block the attack (or two attacks) if it's his left right combo he'll do his big ass string. Just walk backwards if you don't want to murder him by deflecting it
>runs
Get ready to jump over the sweep. Or just hit him in the face. He's so kind as to not actually have i frames on the sweep.
>helm splitter
Block (or dodge) the helm splitter. If block, become able to recognize all 3 followups by sight: Thrust (step), Sweep (jump), turn attack (block) then step on the thrust
If you don't let him move, he'll never mortal blade again. He's really stupid about using that. If he uses it twice you've goofed up somewhere
Final Boss 2:
He's also really really really stupid. In his first phase. He will use nothing but 4 moves if you always attack him into yellow deflect. Anyways once the fight start and you eventually force that
ALWAYS block after yellow deflect in case he thrusts.
>he attacks
Block the first two hits of his 3 hit combo. Then attack until the next yellow deflect.
>Double thrust
You've blocked the first thrust. Step on the second.
>back hop
Walk forward and smack him
>Ashina Cross
The second you see the second flash. Block twice. It's like fighting the elite but with two flashes instead of one.
>Ichimonji
You're going to have to get a feel about the timing on this. No two ways about this. When he does the shockwave. Umbrella block the first hit if you're unfamiliar.
Feed it truly precious bait.
You can kill them after you learn how to dive
what? I've never seen a giant carp out of water
Ape scream, just run? I'm still getting clipped and chipped.
>rushing through wont make me enjoy it.
What will?
A million thanks. Also i managed Genchiros 2nd fight without ever using the lighting deflection. Is it the same with the divine dragon? Just get hit in mid air lock on and hit r1?
Considering how obvious the tell for it is, just bail immediately. A straight run away from it doesn't get you hit or clipped whatsoever.
Wasn't Wolf adopted by Owl?
Not out-out of the water, not on land, but slightly more above water than the underwater ones. You can see their backs above water. The underwater ones just have their tail sticking out.
As I was typing, I remembered something about a dive ability and figured that's how you get those.
Final Boss phase 2:
>Slam
Dodge it. No exceptions. No umbrella. Just dodge it and hit him in the ass
>neutral
Attack twice. Never attack more than twice. He has 3 armor moves on top of his jump away smack.
>jump away swipe
Block the swipe. If he:
1) Shoots a bunch of times.
Block the shots. Than either jump the sweep or step the thrust
2) Stand still and recover his posture
Heal. Because he's stupid he'll jump at you with his slow as shit slam to punish you. Which you will dodge and punish him instead
Unfortunately that's the only advice that can be given.
Form 2 has to be reaction deflected and there's no way to limit his moveset. Thankfully his moves are so slow and telegraphed that it's easy. You're never out of range. If you think you can be hit. Deflect. You probably could be. Use the umbrella to soak the sword waves. Good luck m8ty.
His fuck off huge combo is always preceded by two sword swipes. So just backhop twice and you're safe.
Last phase is a literal gimmick fight. If you're so inclined you can just run away forever and use the gimmick to kill him eventually if you so desired.
Correcto. Jump. Get hit. Redirect.
so, do you have to feed it the Truly Precious Bait from the jar-man in Fountain Head Palace?
Run or use your comfortable purple umbrella and then smack him with it for making so much noise.
It's not my fault Genichiro never learned how to fight.
Just parry, she only has one dangerous move in phase two and you may block it for insane posture damage
You get the bait from either of the noble jar guys after spending a certain amount of carp scales yea, you use it from the bell in Fountainhead. Make sure to use the lower quality baits first to get more scales so you don't miss out on them like I did since the moment you feed it the special one it's gone. And found by the ape area in the poison pools.
Is it possible to poison Headless?
Is there a damage difference between the phantom kunai sen throw and luzuli shrunken?
Also can you farm lapis from mobs? I need more for the last two prosthetic tools
>Final form Genichiro is a pushover as he doesn't have his bow.
He does though.
>fight two of your friends right after that
To be fair Isshin wants to fight you either way because he's a battle junkie.
I don't remember this guy being here before.
P-PLEASE RESPOND
I need to know ;_;
>can you farm Lapis
No. 6 per playthrough.
That's a good question. I think I'll go find that out.
He effectively doesn't. Even his healing reaction changes from a charged shot to the thrust and grab special. The only way for him to actually use it is for you to be a medium range and for you to use an art or attack empty air at that bedium range. IIRC his run react is just his run swipe.
Wait, what is this?
NOTHING WRONG WITH ME
Purification ending. Read up on it. Then hope you havent' hit a PONR so you can do it. You need all 20 vit upgrades to avoid many one shots and turn them into near one shots.
>breaking your controller and being on the verge of tears from one of the easiest mini bosses
I'm fucking terrible at this game yet I beat this dude first try, come on
>dojun the surgeon
>dousaku the mentor
This is the same person. This nigger is a crazy schizo.
Find owl in the memory. He's past the Shinobi Hunter.
what do you do with the Great White Whisker?
What should I spend my 13 skill points in?
Have shinobi, proshtetics, and ashina.
Give it to the giant to finish his questline.
Holy shit the flying jump kick move is so awesome. Weak damage but good posture damage, and you go flying over enemy attacks like you jumped normally. Makes you feel like one of those purple ninjas. It's especially fun fighting said ninjas with it
I had to turn off Steam to get it to work.
Either that or Dousaku died long ago by the hands of Dojun and Dojun is still a crazy schizo.
>Tengu outfit hanging in room
>Leaves a note to Emma in his room talking about the Tengu
>Calls you Sekiro
>Wolf does a super drawn out "wait.. are you..."
>anons still think it's not clear
Ichimonji is the strongest posture damage ability you have access to and recovers your posture. Ashina Cross is the strongest hp damage ability you have access to until the end of the game.
Shinobi has the step and maid air combat arts. You need both of them. Prosthetic tools gives you follow ups. Those follow ups are pretty nifty and make several weapons more usable. Projected force is borderline mandatory in my mind.
Also conceal presence is actually useful if you use stealth at all. It lowers your detection range in ALL cases. Not just sneaking.
It dodges sweeps from the moment you activate it. It's posture damage is actually lower than Ichimonji and don't ever try to use it as an anti air. It's not worth it. High Monk is worthless. If you ever try to use the final hit. You will get stuffed 100% of the time by 100% of the bosses. Well technically not snake eyes.
I really digging the jap dab until I heard the loli's voice. Absolutely ruined. Keeps going from old lady voice to old lady pretending to young voice.
Yeah it fucks me up too.
I'm currently at the point where I have to beat Lady Butterfly and Blazing bull, I'm struggling a bit but I'm sure I'll manage.
I found a path with a warning regarding how you can't kill whats headless in this path but it seems like a dead en, am I missing a grappling hook prompt? I was tempted to jump to see if I could catch one but I didn't want to die again
the way i see it isshin was summoned under genichiro's wish to stop sekiro, so was duty bound to fulfill it
How do I get back to the castle gate when shit completely hits the fan?
Corrupted monk
Plz help
There's a ledge lower than you along that path that you can jump to and hang onto.
ashina underground entrance statue should still be open
Did you beat the boss in Ashina Castle? If not, go do that. Then go to senjoy temple and beat the "boss" there. THEN go do corrupted monk.
Unless you're talking about the one in Fountainhead Palace.
Anyways it's a deflection fight. There's no real tricks or gimmicks. Just learn to deflect every hit and jump over the sweeps. You'll just have to do it until you get it. Sorry user.
>man in his prime
why wasn't it young owl?
they could have just changed his hair color and made him wear a mask or something
Is this game any good and should I play it if I liked Bloodborne for the atmosphere but found the gameplay and story pretty shit?
And if yes, can I run it well with a 1060 and is the Fitgirl Repack legit?
A better question;
>Owl gets an Owl
>Butterfly gets Butterflys
>Wolf doesn't get a Wolf
Legit mad.
What determines the world tendency i.e. the type of lighting you get?
On my first playthrough I went from sunny afternoon, to cloudy/snowing, to night.
On my second playthrough it was sunny afternoon, to cloudy/snowing, back to sunny afternoon.
Fucked up and chose the bad ending but just finished the game with it, should i start a new game and go for the best ending or just NG+ it and deal with it?
was looking at my replay and apparently did flawless the first 2 phases when I beat him, didnt even take that long either
Only senior citizen get their spirit animal.
is it possible to miss a boss if i progress through the game too fast
pretty sure that's like bloodborne and the daytime advances with the story
How the fuck do i final boss?
I tought i was good at the game but he is too umpredictible to parry
I can get through genichiro no damage but as soon as that fucker comes up i get assraped
it doesnt have the same atmosphere as bloodborne if that's what you want
the gameplay in sekiro is completely different
I'm NG+ing it and it's mostly fine. Was a bit low on health early on (chained ogre grab was a one shot), but I got through it.
Yes, yes. and
>fitgirl
Now go find a way to buy or pirate it and have fun you little scamp.
Game and boss progress coupled with location you're in. Game always ends at night.
Yes for both mid boss and main boss. But only the ones attached to Ashina Castle and only the ones tied to the purification ending for main bosses. Basically you'd have to knowingly avoid these things to miss out on them.
yes
No one is giving me a blood sample for dragon rot. The old woman who gave me the bell is dead and everyone else infected doesn't give me the option for it.
just learn his strings and then parry them
he throws out a ton of mikiri bait thrusts when he gets his spear too
I think it depends on whether you go straight for Genichiro or clear everything else first.
Sabimaru fucking wrecks the snake eyes even if they're blocking
Also shigaragi can die from the poison in the area and shirafuji can be cheesed using heights in the area
Anyways, they only have two combos, 3 attacks each, a grab and a shot, you should be able to figure out their moves soon
I had no idea the purification route was even a thing until after I got the return ending
Without 20 beads ogre grab, Ashina Elite, monkey trouble, all end game red samurai, Seven Spear, fast ass stomp, headless spin, and probably something else I'm missing are one shots
Without 18 vit almost every midboss and boss can now one shot you with one of their moves. I'd push forward because one mind is terrific but know you've got a hard future ahead of you. Just keep kuro's charm for this run because your'e not going to finish the game with it while still unfamiliar with the rest of the bosses.
Did you give the charm to kuro at the start?
In my second run I went for the Corrupted Monk as my third boss after Gyobu and Butterfly. The game still changed to cloudy but after an hour or two it went back to sunny.
I got mine from the shinobi above the well. He was also the last one to be afflicted
Sekiro will probably get it in DLC or something.
>monkey (sculptor) doesn't get a monkey
Can someone explain how the fuck does Projected Force work? What are the inputs?
I noticed that every now and again I'll be blocking or deflecting stuff with the elemental umbrellas and when I use my L1+R1 skill, the attack has that element, but I have no idea how the fuck to "absorb" it much less how to project it.
No but he becomes a monkey.
So that corpse with the centipede didn't die. Is it immortal or do I have to use that confetti thing? It's not a ghost as far as I can tell.
At which point should I remove dragonrot from NPCs? I just defeated the old lady summoning illusions and died a shitton already.
Oof I finished the game and went through NG+ much easier than I thought I would. Really enjoyed it, hard but fair and all that. Now on my third run I'm doing it with the kuro charm hardship and plan on getting the demon bell. The ogre is really messin me up this time though, breezed through him last 2 times but man he does so much damage now even with max prayer beads he doesn't get to throw me because the slam just kills me.
spoiler blade
Did anyone do a no death run yet?
I started a new file and I'm at Ashina Castle (cleared out some side areas already too) and haven't died so far. I wasn't planning to make this a no death run, but it might become one. Although the final bosses (Shura route) will probably still kill me, because I'm unfamiliar with their moves.
What's the best lazulite weapon? Is any of them useful against the final bosses?
They are dead, Jim...
When you want to progress their quest
Axe or Flame to Lazulite? I already have the Lazulite Shuriken.
I'm near the demon bell. If I ring it, does the game become perma harder?
no, you can remove it
>that headless dude
I'm getting casual filtered hard for the third time.
Regarding Blazing Bull it's better to try to parry him than to dodge right? Even when I dodge I'm getting hit by the horns
Axe actually has its own niche. Lazulite flame is kinda meh
no you an remove the debuff
Oh hey I just posted about that dumbass over here Don't let him see more difficult to you than he is. He's only as hard as you let him be.
>Umbrella
As it takes ranged attacks. It increases in damage. A strong ranged attack will cause your arm to start smoking. You can use that with projected force for big damage
>Projected Force
Same as every follow up. Let go of the sub tool and hit attack. You'll do an attack with both the umbrella and your sword.
>Whistle
Only useful with delayed whistle. Lock onto a target. Use the delayed whistle. While it's starting up. Turn off your lock on and knock the whistle wherever you desire.
Yes. Nothing changes by the way.
>Still thinking prosthetic tools are used against actual bosses
lol
You get the item to remove it at the same time.
So how the fuck do I get to the other Treasure Carp vendor in Fountainhead Palace? I beat the divine dragon, figuring it would open up another path around there but it just sent me back to Ashina
>implyng I didn't cheese the ape with shurikens.
Ideally you'd stay on his ass but you can parry and be fine as well. If you're close when he's drifting he'll always do a big knock up so be on guard for that.
If you've got fire crackers you can just spam those until death.
Lazulite flame only if you've got the ability to apply the fire to your sword. Else go axe.
Actually you can be a shitter and use the curse to farm items from trash mobs and then remove the curse when you are about to fight a boss.
dual-wielding monkey swordmasters are more dangerous than any non-boss human enemies
path to the right of the dark misty room with nobles. right if you're facing the open area with the lake
>Best Lazulite weapon
Shuriken by a mile. Nothing comes close. Lazulite blades depending on the fight are actually worse than piercing Sabimaru because they lose the pierce and get the smoke cloud which can still be "blocked" and delay poison buildup.
>against the final boss
No. Isshin in particular has a react for those in form one and you don't want to have to constantly hold that dash attack so don't use them. Prosthetic tools outside of umbrella, shuriken, and whistle don't get a whole lot of play. Sabimaru is useful for cheesing two boss types. Spear can be used to rip the armor off of the giant bell dude leading to Ashina Dungeon and the fatass when Ashina is in flames on the way to demon at the ass end of the game.
Axe is worthless on anything that isn't a shield guy. It does less damage than Ichimonji. Takes too long. Triggers enemies tool react which guarantees damage, and generally is all around a bad idea.
where you open the door in fountainhead that leads to the cliffs/up the final boss
stand at door, look back at lake
go directly right, look for a cave on the cliff
jump off the edge and grapple up to it
>fire crackers
I tried to explore as much as possible but I probably missed a few things, the only arms I found were the axe, flamethrower & shuriken. I'm currently focusing on Lady Butterfly she isn't too bad to fight against
He's gone after geni top of the castle fight.
mist raven is good against any boss, basically just gives you a free hit
You know the cannon guy at Ashina outskirts. He's behind the bandit merchant on a bridge/archway. Go kill him. Look to the top right of your screen at that high as fuck rock formation. Go past the flowers. Circle slightly to the left. Look up and grab that grapple hook. Then talk to the merchant. He sells the firecrackers.
It's not worth its cost. Umbrella does bonus damage to posture on deflect and it's follow up does more damage than you get get using mist ravens followup. For half of the cost.
It's actual use is the ability to mist out of stagger upgrade, so you can avoid gangbangs and certain mean spirited posture break combos like Owl 2's elbow into gunpowder.
>YOU CAN'T MOVE!
>tutorial tells you to roll to recover
What did he mean by that
>Axe is worthless on anything that isn't a shield guy
Axe has the biggest single action posture buildup in whole game
I'm kind of wondering what I should do next. I just found the monk area but I may go back and fight Genichiro. I also could fight Armored Warrior and get the pearl for the upgrade I need.
I also have found both Headless' but I imagine I'm not strong enough to beat either of them, nor Shichimen Warrior either because even though I have some terror removal items the meter when I face him builds up insanely quickly. I just can't seem to get in and hurt him any.
for me, it's the naginata monks without using air deathblow because i never even thought that would be useful
youll find out how later in the game
Travel to the "Ashina Castle" idol (big staircase) and zip up the rooftops as high as you can get.
I beat the ghost version by running in a circle until it did a 5 swing combo or jump attack, and ran in and poked the butt.
It took a LONG time but I kept having camera trouble when try to to deflect and dodge normals, I'd just be seeing the monks from the waist up suddenly and not knowing what swing they were doing.
Just reached the bit in the castle with the blue dudes and I have no fucking idea how to deal with multiple enemies that spam perilous attacks at once.
Also, in general blogging about my experience: I find the game gets way less scary and daunting once you reach a critical mass of gourge charges. Like, I was able to bumblefuck my way through having five of those raven fucks on my ass at once and still came out fine (just barely).
And those Snake Eyes dudes seem like pretty explicit "fuck off you're not supposed to be here yet" types of enemies with how little damage they take and with how much they dish out.
you can anti air deathblow those guys? they always gave me so much trouble. figured it only worked on the warlock dudes
it also has the single slowest startup and does the same level of stagger as ichimonji while also being usable in a smaller number of window of vulnerabilities with larger ending delay.
It does marginally more posture damage on non shield enemies than double ichimonji (or full charged single Ichimonji) for far more vulnerability. This is supposed to be weighed against by the ability to soak hits. It's not though. It's shitty. If enemies didn't have reactions to shinobi tool use and you could choose more periods to use it. It'd be great. But you can't. So it's just a mook killer.
Things I'm just learning on my third playthrough:
>Whirlwind Slash does chip damage through enemy block
>You can parry with unfolded umbrella by pressing L1 without having to close it
Nigga the whole reason you do the "return" ending is because you _can't_ fucking kill him, returning him back to China is the only way to get rid of him.
read the descriptions sometime on the things you use user, you silly goofy goober.
FUCK THE GUNFORT
FUCK GUNIGGERS
AND ESPECIALLY FUCK THE MINIBOSS WITH HIS STUPID GUN AND GRAB ATTACK
Who thought this would be a good idea? Massive damage attacks that fuck your posture but don't do anything to the enemy if deflected.
Yeah, I guess they're not there just for flavor.
How do I get to the monk man so I can get that sword I just talked to Isshin
Hahahahahahahaha How The Fuck Is Grab Real Hahahaha Nigga Just Walk Away From The Boss Like Nigga Dodge Back Haha
Ashina Castle idol. Go onto the bridge. Look to the direction the old lady is looking. Grapple over. Go to the temple. Make your way inside the temple. Go past the glaive man and grapple up. The area with the manlets has boards leading up. Go up those boards and look to the right. There are ledges you can climb. Climb up those ledges and you'll be at a boss. The rest of the area is straightforward.
I think he might right. I remember reading something like this in-game. That not even mortal blades can kill the Dragon, and are only strong enough to wound him temporarily.
Can you use 2 powers ups at the same time? On the bottom left of the screen only 1 appears.
nice, i found it. thanks lads
You can deflect the gun lady's grab
Have you tried using it in the air? It's very quick and slams though most shit like Ichimonji without the startup. As to why you use it over Ichimonji, the answer is High Monk.
Only one sugar item effect can be active at a time. Other types of consumables don't overwrite it.
So now that Sekiro 2 ius all but confirmed by the Return Ending what will Sekiro 2 about? Undoubtly you will be eventually fighting the four Guardian Beasts in China.
DLC though.
>sekiro 2
No it's just a DLC.
I still haven't beaten Sword Saint and I have to beat him 2 more times for the other endings
Fuck me I thought nothing could be harder than Demon of Rage
the fuck happened to his left arm? did he ripped it off and transformed it into this sword?
Sekiro really has the best combat
Wrong, that only leads to the retarded demon bell.
>Serenity
Once you beat it once the others 2 will be easy.
Just backup your save after beating the final boss and watch the other endings, assuming you already have the items to trigger them anyway.
Finally did a perfect on this scary motherfucker
>How to Find Protection Sugar
>Dropped by Enemies upon death.
Who the fuck is Enemies?
High monks final hit can't be used on half of the bosses in the game. It will get stuffed every time. Unless you mean the corrupted monk at fountainhead palace. You can also use mid air ichimonji against that. But for the sake of science I'll go see what I'm up against on one of my saves and go retest its use for prosperity.
>have you tried using it in the air
Sure have. I've also used it on every boss and mini boss in the game along with every other shinobi tool. Mostly for the sake of gathering information. Air deployment speeds up the startup but does nothing for it's ending delay.
The last issue of the axe is the cost. Umbrella deflects have more utility. Flamebarrel does more hp damage. Shurikens have a gap closer that doesn't launch you into the air.
Correct. It leads to the demon bell. Beyond him is the abandoned dungeon. Beyond the abandoned dungeon is the temple. Now get to it.
Tomoe purposefully trained him wrong.
I try not to spoil myself but some people have problems with Lady Butterfly don't they? I just killed her on the second try
>It does marginally more posture damage on non shield enemies than double ichimonji
It does almost double the posture damage compared to ichimonji while having hyperarmor and possible aoe.
it can be used extremely safely after shadowrush's aerial component.
It also causes either fire buildup or pierce on later upgrades.
Axe, shuriken, spiral spear, sabimaru, shield, mist raven and flame vent all have universal usability and utility.
fight blazing bull like a souls boss, sprint after him when he charges past you and stay on his 7 o'clock or 5 o'clock perpetually
That feels like cheating, I want to do it legit.
Hope so
>dlc
this game isn't made by capcom or bioware to have a "hey guys guess what, THIS is the true ending! but you have to buy our dlc tho"
>fire buildup for one extra cost. The fire buildup is also low
>hyper armor
Feel free to hyper through any of the NG+ bosses attacks and let me know how good of a trade it is.
>aoe
There are better value uses if you're talking about splash. The fan has aoe and opens up instant kills. Spear charge spin attack has a wider range.
>after shadow rushes aerial component. 2 to 4 Spirits for a relatively small amount of posture break. Compared to 4 umbrella counters.
>it does almost double
No.
But one second friendo.
How am I doing on my NG+ checklist?
Shura ending
>all headless defeated
>18 vitality
>9 attack power
>maxed out shinobi arts
>8 gourds Can't do anything with my 9th seed because Emma is dead
>all the secondary gourds
>all tools
>t3 upgrades on all tools
>Undying bro killed
Is there anything else I need to knock out before going into NG+? I don't want to make the leap then realize I fucked myself
how the fuck do people have problems with the snake eye mini-bosses? HOW? easy shit and one of them can even be defeated with pure cheese
So this is your first FromSoft game, huh? I hope you're enjoying it, son.
Ashina Cross is such a crap weapon art. Holy shit this actually made me mad. So fucking underwhelming.
DLC probably won't be Mass Effect 3: Rainbow Bogaloo but more about something else. My guess is it's gonna be a Tomoe DLC, she's to Sekiro what Artorias was to Dark Souls.
I hate that animation where Sekiro sits the fuck back with his hand in front of him
Always makes me feel like such a pussy, I love this game combat but I hate that I have to play as a coward ass shinobi. I wish I could play as samurai with odachi.
>defeated by pure cheese
The one in the cave that you can just lure into the poison and wait it out?
>I wish I could play as samurai with odachi
Then play Nioh
shura ending is probably the worst to do first because optimally you want to start NG+ with 13 attack and 20 vitality
a bunch of stuff will ohko with sub 20 vitality in NG+
only other thing i can think of you doing is making sure you sever ape escape's immortality for the Lady Maria Ninjutsu.
almost all the combat arts are crap the only one i find myself using every now and then is ichimonji double
i would use mortal blade more if the spirit emblem cost wasnt so high
he's missing an arm because someone took a branch from the sacred tree. Remember? The one you get from Owl?
Should I feel bad I just started cheesing samurai generals by firecrackering them in the face, running around behind them and attacking them in the back repeatedly?
I had no trouble with the snake eyes miniboss at the gun fort, but the one in the swamp was hard as shit
>not using high monk
>Not using a trainer to give yourself infinite XP
You'll be fine.
Though NG+ after Shura ending is honestly pretty hard just because you're underpowered attack wise (I think you're missing like 4 attack power up) compared to doing a complete run.
Double Ichimonji
>only 9 attack power
Fight more bosses nigger.
You can also jump the sweep and it'll do more posture damage.
most of them are really bad. Only one that stands out is the one with actual utility(lowering your posture meter).
Axe with a followup
no, it won't
High Monk's kick does significantly more posture damage than a bounce, that's part it's niche
Where's the best place to farm money?
WORLDSTAR BABY
Is Living Force any good?
What other bosses are available in that ending?
>that battle music when someone in the background trying to whistle really hard, but no almost sound comes out
To get Ashina Cross The Double Trouble is required.
Ichimonji does significantly more posture damage and you can do it at any time.
I DID IT BROS
I FINALLY DID IT
Did it first try after I managed to get through phase 2. How generous of the game to give you free damage with lightning in phase 3.
Also Jesus, what a fucking amazing boss fight. This is one of the best bosses I've ever fought in a souls game, if not the best. It's just perfect, it's one of those bosses you want to fight over and over and it never gets bad. The ONLY bad part is the Geinichiro fight before, which was tired by this point.
Why is the boss difficulty so imbalanced? I needed about 50 tries to kill the butterfly fuck but killed the horse boss on my 2nd try
Stop talking out of your ass.
And no, high monk's i-frames, anti-air capabilities and hyperarmor breaking kicks are way more useable in wide array of situations compared to Ichimonji
Maybe you got gud thank to the granny.
And here's proof
>ichimonji does more
it literally does not, a fully charged ichimonji (no second hit) does roughly the same as the bounce in this webm, if not a little less. With the second hit it does a smidge more than the bounce.
I've clipped me hitting the same dude with ichimonji if you don't believe me, but i only have the single, charged hit version since i never bothered upgrading it
Axe with a followup on an enemy who is at neutral.
>he spams ash and firecrackers
you are bad at the game and are not in a position to judge it's difficulty
what's really fun is to get in the dual-blade-staff monks faces and do the high-monk flying kick combo. That move was made for enemies like them, it's constantly knocking them out of the air and onto their backs, pummeling at their posture. Especially effective if you activate it in midair. They even take the final kick of the combo that every other strong enemy seems to counterattack you before it lands
Double Ichimonji on an enemy who is at neutral.
As you can see it's not double as you said. It's "marginal" as I've said.
>neutral
What else are you going to shit out?
Maybe youre right i do feel like i learned a lot in that fight. Thanks granny
How the fuck do you react to Isshin’s lightning bullshit? The wind up looks like the beginning of his other attacks until lightning appears halfway through the animation and the terrain is so uneven that even when you do get hit by lightning and mash R1 there’s no guarantee you’ll pull of the reversal before hitting the ground. Also I’m fucking tired of From doing marathon bosses, it was shit with Friede and it’s shit with Genichiro before Isshin. He doesn’t even put up a fucking fight and only exists to dull your timing for Isshin by fighting something else immediately before him. It also cucked Genichiro out of a proper final battle. Say what you will about Dark Souls 2 but the fact that you don’t have to redo Throne Watchers or before Nashandra or Nashandra before Aldia was a godsend considering how bullshit that first fight is. I’ve loved the game up to this point and I’m still enjoying it but it’s a little disappointing Miyazaki decided to end it on something dumb like that. Genichiro and Isshin should be separate bosses.
Fountainhead, pop a balloon and just run through killing whatever you feel like. They drop a ton of cash. If you don’t have access to Fountainhead then go to the Gun Fort idol, backstab the enemy just before that idol and run back to the idol and rest. It nets you 52 sen and takes like 15 seconds, you get 78 sen if you use a balloon. It’s monotonous as fuck but very effective.
Shh do you hear that?
the sound of git gud
Is One Mind even good or just for the cool factor?
What do you mean shit out. I literally have the perfect condition for testing it. An enemy who is literally doing nothing
Stop being sore.
he has a flawed ai where he gets into a loop
>he will always start with arrow+slide attack
>parry that, attack 1 time, parry his counter, attack one more time, parry another counter
>then just spam r1 continously until he does the jump attack, parry, he will follow with a red attack, mikiri counter that shit
>rinse and repeat
and once you take away 1 bar, you will need to jump instead of Dodge
>How the fuck do you react to Isshin’s lightning bullshit?
Close your eyes and go by ear. That's what I did.
>3. how to beat fucking snake eyes?
literally impossible had to cheese both of them. had less problems with other enemies and bosses in the game. they just have really obtuse environments you have to face them in and the ranged mobs nearby only exacerbate the battle with dem snake eyes. fuck those two bitches
i want to hate fuck those two bitches.
give me some leper sniper offspring. some draw user make snake eyes lewds
Wallstreet
his lightning phase is super easy, way easier than his second
any time he calls lightning just jump and mash R1 for a free boss stun
inb4 "hurr durr you are brainlet git gud LMAO" comments
hurr durr you are brainlet git gud LMAO
Cucked out of owl 2 fight because I didn't spy on my lord.
It sucked all desire to keep playing desu.
Terrible decision by from
Is it just me or do the colours of the areas change? the sky? i swear senpou temple looked nice and sunny before i killed genichiro and now its all dull and grey sky!
pls tel me
Neutral is anything but a good condition for testing posture damage. It needs to be done against guarding opponent and Axe's actual posture damage is only rivalled by a full High Monk combo. Use both pictures given to you in this thread and shut the fuck up.
Snake Eyes are easy once you’ve cleared the area of other enemies, deflect all their attacks except two. When they kick, they immediately follow that up with a gunshot, so as soon as you’ve deflected the kick get behind them and start wailing away. When they do their perilous attack, jump backwards immediately and you won’t get grabbed. It’s also a good opening for a few hits. They go down pretty quick and easy as long as you don’t choke when they do either of those moves.
So i currently help emma with the quest to keep lord alive and help rice girl with the snake hearts
are these two endings?
>Sabimaru
yeah where is this? went to ashina resivoir and looked left or w.e the memo says, couldnt find it!
You shut the fuck up. I gave you literal evidence that Ichimonji did more posture damage
>on guarding enemies
What kind of ass pull shit is this. You said absolutely nothing on guarding enemies.
And I'll go do this shit again just to put you in your place.
Yeah like Bloodborne the time of day changes throughout the game. Sekiro is set over an entire day whereas Bloodborne was afternoon to sunrise. The lighting changes are also a lot more subtle in Sekiro.
It's not in the Resevoir. It's in the Castle
Imagine this dude's life. He must be even more pathetic than i am.
You're given actual comparisons of posture damage made by a guy in /ssdtg/. Use them instead of your headcanons.
Gonna need someone to explain the entirety of the fucking noble village area
Why do the people look like fish
Why are there weird electrodogs
Why is there a giant fish
Why is there a dragon
Why do these things fight like Genichiro
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE GIANT ROPE THING
Some enemies has some weird defenses against combat arts.
I tried to use combat arts against the mini dragon people during the Divine Dragon fight, but it does shit damage compared to just attacking them like normal.
>literal evidence
>head cannon
Whatever you say man.
How do I get to the other side of Fountainhead Palace? I've beaten the boss but there's still like a half the palace I haven't been able to find a path to.
Both hits blocked.
go towards the stairs leading to the boss, through the door, then look behind you on the roof for a grapple point.
Both hits blocked.
>muh /ssdtg/
Go fuck yourself.
shit, I can't believe I missed that.
>isshin is tengu
Can't beat Isshin guys.
That's what you get for cheating your way through the game
Use shadow rush and jump straight back after asap and use it again asap, you will mostly get away from his attack and stop him from his bullshit, once his hp is below 50% you can deflect him and get his posture down faster, or just keep shadow rushing him. He'll still hit you some but you should get to phase 3 with most of your gourd.
how the fuck do I beat the goddamn monkey and his retarded hitbox grab
Follow this guide
youtube.com
it took me like 4 tries to figure out what to do but if this happened to me I would have been upset. I gotta have my Roberto
Secret
>Why do the people look like fish
Because they drank too much of the Rejuvenating Waters straight from the source so they slowly went crazy and morphed into forms aquatic forms.
>Why are there weird electrodogs
Same as the fish people, dunno why the dogs get electrical powers from immortality though.
>Why is there a giant fish
In Japanese folklore carp were believed to have the ability to become dragons if they live long enough. Carp are extraordinarily long lived and don’t really stop growing, so they extrapolated that in the right conditions a carp could live forever and just keep growing into a monstrous dragon.
>Why is there a dragon
He’s where the immortality in the game comes from, you’re in the divine realm when you fight him. It’s a home invasion basically, you big meanie.
>Why do these things fight like Genichiro
In the lore his mentor was a chick called Tomoe who used lightning techniques and one of the popular theories about Tomoe currently is that she was the dead girl you use to warp to the dragon’s boss area. I dunno much else about the connection though.
>WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE GIANT ROPE THING
No clue lol, probably another obscure folklore thing.
So can someone tell me the best prosthetics and skills for posture damage?
Axe is literally the only one worth it for posture
thanks user that cleared most of it up
have a nice day
Np user I hope you have a lovely day also.
oof and yikespilled
What's a good place to farm fulminated mercury? Which mob exactly drops it?
Both of them are dead. A shinobi should know the difference between honor and victory.
a shamefur dispray maybe on ng+ or if I ever buy the game I'll fight them proper
someone please draw snake eyes twins porn or lewds
