It had potential but really failed at a lot of areas. The Archon was a typical bad guy with no real characterization. Didn’t give a shit about him. The premise of trying to make planets habitable by turning off the global warming machines was boring. Glyph Sudoku was boring. Companions were not as compelling as the OT characters. The dialogue system was dumbed down to two choices the vast majority of times. No consequences for your actions so you never have to worry about the well being of your companions.

Pirated it. Got a few hours in, and while it was alright, it just wasn't interesting enough for me to start it up again.

i was getting really sick of the ice planet and its freezing bullshit but then i did the vault mission that improved the atmosphere and it became more bearable. after that i did the vault missions first on every planet and the game became more enjoyable.

I've played a lot of games that are regarded as trash. I've had over 600 hours in Skyrim, over 400 hours in Fallout 4. I've been playing Saints Row 4 and Borderlands 2 for hundreds of hours. I have close to 1000 hours in Destiny 2. I've finished Dark Souls 2 multiple times. Fucking hell I even replayed Fable 3 over 4 times in span of one week but Mass Effect Andromeda is without doubt the most souless, buggiest, piece of clunky shit I've ever played. Could not play past the first mission where you meet PeePee. What a fucking waste of time.

i didnt experience any bugs except for one architect not exposing its vulnerable parts to shoot. still every conversation you are reminded that the writing and animations are not as good as the trilogy and its pretty disappointing.

yeah it was pretty good. Had some flaws of course, and I played it after the bugfix patch, but overall it was a fine game with plenty of fun parts about it.

One new alien race in an entirely new galaxy, and sure, its objective, but i found them completely boring and visually hideous.
Every single Asari thats not peebee or the doctor has THE EXACT SAME FACE. I dont think it was the case in the originals, but the person the used for the face model was quite distinctive, and not particularly attractive, so it stuck out like a sore thumb.
New crew were not particularly likeable. Turian thief was ok, cora and peebee weren't as bad as the prerelease footage made out, old man krogan was likeable - but its just wrex even older, liam kosta was an insufferable cunt.
Sequel/DLC bait throughout which will never be finished - story threads like the murder investigation that you actually look forward to finishing but dont because SEQUEL BAD GUY.
Half the alien races dont appear, yet every human race/gender/sexuality is somehow present - pandering was so bad it even pissed off transexuals who said it was unrealistic so they had to patch it.
Mostly boring side quests. Boring main story. Kill off the person youd rather play as in the first hour.
Only real plus point id say was the environment graphics. That superhot desert world looked great.

I agree it gets too much hate but you have to realize it's been patched significantly since people first played it and it's still buggy. The story, dialogue, and characters are very lacking so it's actually not good as an RPG. The biggest appeal is its enjoyable combat and mako exploration, which were both far better than the previous attempts in the series.

Maybe not the "best" best in terms of combat, not like this game is hard anyway and you can just button mash your way through everything.
But he's just an interesting character overall compared to everyone else in this game, especially because Bioware butchered all characters from the previous game aside from one that you meet like closer to the endgame (from what I remember).

i found ironbull and sera to be pretty obnoxious. the others didnt really stand out. i guess i would have got a better impression if i played longer. i noticed my companions didnt banter much. dont know if it was a glitch or if i had to move to certain parts of the map to trigger a conversation between them.

It's been a very long time since I play that game but he's not like that from what I remember.
Well, at least back when they revealed party members I had a very negative bias towards him but to my surprise he turned out to be the only party member who was somewhat interesting.
Not that he never mentions his "I like men" stance but it never bothered me when I played the game unlike some other LGBT characters in gaming. I think even that transwhatever from Iron Bull's company annoyed me more.
