Can someone please explain everyone's obsession with this book? Every form of political discourse I have with people ends up with someone name dropping 1984, regardless of what I'm actually talking about. Has Yea Forums only ever read one dystopian novel?

I bought this a few months back because Orwell cited it as a big influence, and was adamant Huxley borrowed a ton from it while writing Brave New World. Haven't read it yet though.

1984 would make a shit videogame if you straight adapted it.

The world itself might make an interesting stealth game where in you have to try to behave like you're towing the party line while doing some other objective.
