>State of MC Mods
Is there any new shit? i've been away for 2 years only to find beekeeping and thaumcraft again and again. Thank god IC2 died.
State of MC Mods
IC2 did nothing wrong
What's wrong with IC?
>it exists.
Too much microcrafting and the mod creator is a special snowflake that doesn't adopt the universal energy system other mods uses
>make the first energy system mod for minecraft
>some copies your idea wholesale and casualises it to hell
>everyone wants you to get absorbed into the copy and die
I repeat: IC2 did nothing wrong
>recently get back into playing MC a bit on rando servers mostly alone, but admire the other players work
>build some ok stuff but autism makes me grind to get full diamond set and enchants
>die in some dumbfuck way
>lose all interest in the game
MC is kind of fun to play again but I just can't enjoy it for more than 2 hours. I even tried installing a pixelmon mod and adventure maps for it but it's just too clunky to be more fun than just playing a ROM hack.
Pixelmon servers are maximum cancer both in playerbase, grind, and trying to get you to fork over your shekels.
>individuality bad
I've had fun with /vp/ pixelmon servers in the past, albeit you have to put up with some autists. No idea if they still run them.
Pixelmon seems like the sort of thing that would be best if you only played it with friends and only all at the same time.
I've been playing MC almost daily since before the Red Power mod came out. IC and Buildcraft were the only two major mods at the time. I didn't mind back then when IC had its own form of energy and its own way of doing things, but I grew a bit weary of it over time as I started playing new and more integrated mod packs. IC2 is still being maintained and updated but it doesn't get incorporated into many mod packs these days.
I used to have the patience to build my own modpack but now I download premade modpacks through Twitch. Assuming you have Minecraft installed, run Twitch. Click on Mods. Click on Minecraft. Click on Browse Modpacks. Pick a pack. Click it to download. Play. I am currently playing Stoneblock 2, All The Mods 3, and Regrowth but I have dabbled in many, many others.
>individuality for the sake of individuality good
Being a special fagboy that refuses to adopt a widely used format should only be done if you've made a better version or if the widely-used configuration is missing a key feature.
Probably but even then it just doesn't seem fun. The pokemon aspect takes away from the building aspect, and the pokemon aspect is pretty shallow since there's no storymode for servers, gyms are boring, training a new team is legitimately difficult because most things spawn in at lvl 50 while you have a lvl 5 starter, it's just a mess, the pokemon formula and MC formula really clash imo.
it's not really new but i can't live without Tinker's Craft anymore.
that hammer is a godsend for strip mining or just clearing out large rooms for building
most of these modpacks are kitchen sink. It's advised that you create you own pack with less stuff
Imagine playing Pixelmon and being a grown adult.
I like TC, and how you build tools. But i hate that mod tools that you work hard for become obsolete because your TC cobalt pick axe with diamond + red stone is 2 time better and way easier to craft
Ahh, the Tinkers' Construct mod. The hammer and excavator and great for moving and shaping the earth around you. The lumber axe fells entire trees in one chop. A beloved mod, but it is an early-mid game mod.
Check out a mod called Actually Additions. It has a drill that, with upgrades, can quickly mine out a 5x5 tunnel.
>should only be done if you've made a better version
again, did. nothing. wrong.
Check out advent of ascension.....adds all sorts of mobs guns dimensions n shit.
>mana beans
>trying to get a good stock of all 48 flavors (Sometimes more depending on which add-ons you're playing with)
>it is an early-mid game mod.
End-game is essentially a terraformer powered by magic that processes and dumps everything into Applied Energistics storage systems
Yes, because clearly I enjoyed it so much that I'm still playing.
Regardless, why is playing what I want to a problem? Any video game is immature and a waste of time if you really get down to it but in the same thinking most hobbies are a waste of time or immature.
