I actually like that Sakurai seems to have high standards for including new IPs instead of just shoving in a bunch of random no-name ones.
New IPs, essentially, have to actually earn to be Smash, like how Splatoon singlehandly did. It's like a rite of passage, pretty much. I'm gonna get shit on for this, but I feel like including Isaac, Chibi-Robo, Dillon, Wonder Red and all these other obscure literal whos would just mudden the identity of Smash, as strange as that may sound.
Aside from its stages, the representation of the Zelda franchise is an abject embarrassment. Sheik is one of the greatest mistakes Sakurai ever made with the Smash roster
I don't care if this is unpopular or popular but I want to say it anyway. Sakurai and Nintendo include whoever/whatever they want, for whatever reasons and whims they have at the time. No one "deserves," to be in Smash Bros and the fanbase in general needs to stop having this viewpoint. It's not some badge of honor to become playable in the game. And people need to stop being feeling offended, over decisions concerning the roster, feeling as if he did those decisions out of malicious intent towards people.
Nicholas Taylor
I thought this too for a while and i still think nobody deserves the be in smash. But you cannot tell me that plant was not a huge fuck you to any waluigi fan or geno fan and this is coming from somebody who cant stand wauigi and geno supporters. Plant was definitely put in out of spite
John Price
i agree pretty much with this. i think ultimately it's sakurai who decides who gets in and who doesnt, and everyone flinging shit about who is, isn't, or should be in is just chasing their own tails, disconnected from reality.
Angel Young
young link and pichu should have never came back.
Alexander Jones
Most just want their character in Smash so they can make their franchise more popular so it can potentielly be revived. That's why many want Isaac for example.
Aaron Wilson
Corrin is the most well made and second most deserving FE character in Smash.
I don't think most of the characters in smash represent the actual characters properly, especially the original 8. Their movesets feel uninspired and I just never feel like I'm playing as Mario from the Mario franchise. This is something the Marvel vs Capcom games did better.
William Taylor
Robin is a tight runner up but projectile characters are gay lol
Any changes you’d think would make it more accurate? I’m really interested in stuff like this. I think mario’s down b should be the spin jump from mario world onwards.
Brayden Lewis
To be fair, that was before Luigi had his cowardly personality from Luigi's Mansion and was the overshadowed second fiddle, so Sakurai just made up a bunch of shit with him.
Elijah Fisher
I love Corrin's moveset. If I was forced to cut the FE roster size I would keep Marth, Ike, Robin and Corrin since their movements are completely different from each other's.
Mario's original moves are a based on Ryu's in order to give players something familiar so that playing smash wouldn't seem so strange to them.
Tyler Long
Yeah, his Smash self is pretty weird but I love it.
The fact that i'll hardly ever be catered to anymore for the sake of marketing and instead seeing new demographics or people that came, at best, from Brawl being given what they want instead disgusts me.
Wyatt Morris
Make some of his moves item abilities, like you already have the fireflower so maybe make down B the stone Tanooki suit ability. Make it so when he jumps on players they take damage, make his final smash him growing into huge mario. Not make him angry all the time.
Andrew Brooks
>the fact that Zelda has not gotten a new rep since Brawl (and even then it was a clone) is criminal >Pokemon Trainer needs some serious tweaks to make people stop one-tricking Charizard >if Square Enix is as stingy with DLC as they were with Cloud in terms of spirits and songs then I'd rather not get another SE rep >if we get more content past the fighters pass I'd love more echo fighters over new characters >I prefer not using tap jump because going from Smash to other fighters feels awkward
Noah Green
Brawl stages and terrible character designs are still a blight on this game to this day.
Your opinion is dumb because they added in Pichu, Young Link, Toon Link, 35 Fire Emblem Characters, Inciniroar, and a bunch of other no name characters.
Luis Bailey
>Xenoblade >Bayonetta >Wii Fit Lmao
Aiden Richardson
> Wii Fit > One of the best selling games of all time Retard
Luis Parker
>one-tricking Charizard You mean Ivysaur?
Elijah Jenkins
All popular and some of the best designed characters in the game right now?
Ian Anderson
Anybody who complains about Corrin, but is okay with Roy is an absolute moron.
Cameron Wood
IPs, not characters
James Smith
Duck Hunt's inclusion was incredibly obvious and anybody who didn't see it coming is an idiot.
Mason Perez
Any Fire emblem characters being in the game is a joke
John Martin
Or have is final smash be him capturing a t—rex
Kayden Clark
Explain
Evan Jackson
Geno really doesn't need to be in Smash and I don't get why he is one of the highest requested characters of all time
I also think that we don't need any more Kirby characters
Samuel Adams
>MOOOOM MARTH KEEPS BEATING MY KROOL IN QUICKPLAY
Andrew Moore
>implying Inkling earned the right to get in I love Splatoon, but don't lie: the Inklings got in due to shilling. I'd rather have seen Callie and Marie over generic Inklings. Avatars are cancer: I hate how characters with no personality get in over real personalities.
After Game&Watch and R.O.B., the most obvious newcomer would be something to represent the zapper. Duck Hunt is one of Nintendo's best selling games. It really could not be more obvious.
Austin Wilson
There is literally nothing wrong with a video game character having little to no personality.
Carter Davis
I played a godlike toon link yesterday as villager. That fool put in 600+ hrs and im only at 360hrs. He sent me a friend request after a couple rounds. Toon link is great to play as and against. Blessed character
Liam Perez
Steve is in then
Ryder Roberts
Sakurai making Smash and not HAL was a terrible mistake. The circlejerking he does of his own content remains a huge problem.
I actually hate playing against toon link and I don’t even really know why. It’s prolly cause I never see him and everyone who plays him has 30000000 hours since brawl.
Ethan Ross
This. They have three characters and repeats with way too much hanging on Ocarina of Time. Toon Link should’ve been a costume for Young Link while Impa should’ve been in before either. Then, like your pic, there should be representation from across the series with other characters (Skull Kid, Midna, Ghirahim, any of the Champions, Onyx, Vaati, etc.) The series has so much potential for unique movesets that don’t require a sword.
Kevin Rogers
Falco should revert back to being a clone like Doc and Pichu so he can be good again.
Levi Sullivan
At least you got spirits
Lincoln Thompson
My ideal is still >Link (Somewhere between young and adult) >Zelda >Ganon/Ganondorf >Skullkid >Midna and Wolf Link >Ghirahim or Fi Then Tink as a costume, echo semiclone I don’t really care. Midna would be really interesting as she would have to be a fast grappler. Skull Kid is aesthetically kino. Ghirahim fulfills my desire for a fruity anime villain and Fi is best girl and would have nice animations. Represents a large span pf games throughout the series while having a lot unique and interesting fighters.
Maining heavies means youre bad at Smash and pray for lucky Smashes and edge gambles to kill. Just because they're low tier doesnt mean you're any less of a caveman for using them.
>I'm gonna get shit on for this, but I feel like including Isaac, Chibi-Robo, Dillon, Wonder Red and all these other obscure literal whos would just mudden the identity of Smash, as strange as that may sound. Oh it's another one of these threads. Kill yourself please. You're obsessed with these characters.
