Also I felt like XIII was fine if not too linear. But XIII-2 was better in nearly every way. Also Noel and Caius are fantastic and the best characters in the XIII series.

The combat is not what I'd hoped. Its "fine".
There are many things I'd change about it. Summons would work differently, and be selectable, no Friendly fire on the magic (as cool as magic was, I almost never used it because of this), less "hold the button" and more combos.
All the DLC would have been with the base game.
And Cidney wouldn't be called Cindy in English.
There would be more shown of the empire and a little more foreshadowing for one or two things.
The game just needed a little more dev time. Honestly sounds terrible considering how long we waited for it, but really that game just took the characters from Versus and was developed in a year or two.
The ending is great though, and I really hope none of the DLC changed it like was rumored for a bit. The English Noctis VA really delivered too.

It doesn't. Episode Ignis provides a "what-if" alternate scenario after completing it once, but that's all. And it's great fun.
The DLCs that were rumored to provide a proper alternate ending were, thankfully, the ones that got cancelled. Unfortunately it appears they may still be getting released as novels, so expect more shitposting in the vein of exploding blitzballs.

IV is and always will be my favorite game of all time. The sad fact is, so many fucking zoomers talk shit about it that it will never get the respect it deserves. I had excellent literacy when I was younger, mainly due to being read to every night by my mother (And then having to read some lines in my favorite books back), and then eventually playing tons of RPGs when I got a console. The trouble was that I didn't always logically comprehend a lot of what was being said, such as when I played through FFVI the first time at a young age and didn't always grasp some of the details.

Marsh Cave held me up for a year though, followed by the earth cave and then the ice cave. I managed to finish FFIV and FFVI before I managed to finish all of FF1.

Same reason we don't have an Adventurer as the face for XI; they don't want to step on the toes of the players that care about self-insert shit so they go with NPCs instead. As for why Y'shtola specifically, I assume it's just because YoshiP is a catfag.
At least it has Zenos for the Chaos side, so 1/2 of the picks were good so far.
