2K really doesn't have much to do with anything. Much like Private Division (who brokered the exclusivity for The Outer Worlds), they operate fairly autonomously from their parent company of Take-Two. They're both different subsidiaries of Take-Two

it's more than randy has relationships with staff at epic because half of them used to be at gearbox but quit/got laid off.

Next week they're releasing the remaster for 1, some balance/tweaks/uhd texture packs for 2/presequel. 3 has no confirmed release date yet, but the 3rd (the release date for remaster) they said there's more info on bl3. So either a release date, or another teaser trailer asking you to watch e3 for a real release date. My money's on this year though, definitely. Probably august/september.

I wanted to go back because they made it so zombies can be 'crafted' to do much of the grunt work

but then i found out that there are bugs that can fucking permanently corrupt your game, and you cant actually work around predicting when and how the bug will corrupt it
you cant avoid it eventually corrupting your save
