Why did Sakurai add in him over Banjo? Don't get me wrong Duck Hunt is fine and all but they've known just how much we've wanted Banjo since Smash 64 and all they had to do was go through a couple hurdles to get him in instead like they did with Cloud and now Joker
Why did Sakurai add in him over Banjo...
probably leftovers from banjo's concept when he was (supposedly) planned for melee
More iconic than your boomer bear. And yes I know Duck Hunt is prime boomercore too but it's still way more recognizable than Banjo, not to mention it's first party.
Banjo is (or at least was then) more than just "a couple of hurdles' regardless of what PR says.
Also Duck Hunt sold countless more copies than Banjo's whole franchise.
You realize just HOW much of a part Banjo played in Nintendo's history? The N64 absolutely needed Banjo and Rareware with the competition they had at the time
Retard
>how much of a part Banjo played in Nintendo's history
absolutely delusional. They were two decent 3D platformers but that's it. They had nowhere near the impact Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, and Smash Bros. did on the same system, in terms of sales and significance to video games as a whole.
The 64 games are almost 2 decades old and now the IP belongs to Microsoft. It's time to let it go.

There. Here’s your fucking thread, OP.
Meanwhile, Duck Hunt was bundled with the NES (and thus is one of the best selling video games of all time) and was designed around one of the most iconic peripherals of gaming history.
>Star Fox
>Impact
>
>Game that came with the rumble pak, introducing rumble functionality to video games
>no impact
try harder
Yea the rumble pak made an impact not the game dumbass, there's a reason why the series blundered onwards
Virtual boy themed character when?
Teleroboxer would be dope
>Rumble pak
>impact
Is this bait? Also if your going by that logic then Star fox still doesn't matter
The rumble pak came with the game, and no games before it utilized functionality with it.
>Rumble
>Not important
Because Duck Hunt is owned by Nintendo and they wouldn't have to jump through a bunch of licensing deals to use their own characters? If Rare wasn't bought when they were then Banjo-Kaoozie would have been in Smash by now.
No. It's Not. Who gives a shit about your controller shaking. I turn it off with any game I can.
>I don't care, therefore no one does
got it
Because Duck-hunt along with the other light gun games can actually be turned into an interesting moveset both for gameplay and aesthetics. What can you make from Generic 3D Platformer Mascot #57? You might as well have fucking Bubsy.
because banjo is owned by microsoft. at that point, the most wild character was snake, and he couldn't even be in the game.
sure, now banjo could be feasible, but not when duck hunt was added.
Not that user but I do the same. In fact on the PS4 I have rumble off be default.
But it wasn't stolen over Banjo. They just did a mishmash of everything Duck Hunt had, including the often overlooked Zapper, into a fighter. Duck Hunt's legacy had extended all the way up until his inclusion in Smash. The Duck Hunt Dog had remained an iconic figure, one of the most well known Vidya " trolls ", parodied during the early days.
>Play the arcade version which has a new bonus stage
>Actually get to shoot the dog wheh he pops up among the ducks
It's pretty wild that he's a Spirit.
>newfags not recognizing the copypasta
>Why did Sakurai add in him over Banjo?
Because Nintendo owns Duck Hunt
duckhunt dev died around Smash 4's development
Just the dog laughing is more iconic than a shitty bear and bird. Actual boomers recognize it and kids recognize it because it's a meme.
Okay retard
Are people really going to pretend that Banjo isn't one of the most requested characters?
force feedback already existed in pc games
>MS owns Banjo
>DHD added in Wii U
>Wii U competes with Xbox One
>not allowed
>enter Switch, a handheld
>doesn't compete with Xbox One
>now it's ok to add Banjo
