1's old rust is kinda what makes it work for me. Also compared to the 2 it's pacing is much better. I've played both recently and 2 takes a long time to get going and doesn't really have real narrative till the last third.

Taken on their own merits they excel each other in different ways, 2 probably has the worst replay value for example, whereas 3 is a little too short and linear but has some of the best characters and story.

I meant more in the sense of getting something more out of replaying the game, outside of the different endings 2 doesn't really reward you for playing it over again. Unless you count the chainsaw I guess. 3 has more fun shit you can do on repeated playthroughs.

You already picked Claw Finger, so I went for the track I remember most from 1.

2 was the scariest to me because of how everything becomes depressing. All the other people are fucked up and the player really feels vulnerable especially by the end of the game.

I wouldn't count on Konami for that. At least the Pcsx2 emulation still looks great for these games. I can't believe how amazing the textures look in Silent Hill 3. Their resolution is way higher that what the ps2 allowed you to see back then.

Not that I remember, but the lyrics are the clue to the hard mode Shakespeare puzzle. SH3's hard puzzles were great, especially the hospital one about eating somebody's face.
