What are your red flags user and why do you hate it so much.
What are your red flags user and why do you hate it so much
>American Studio
Because America makes absolutely fucking shit games
You can be banned from the entire game for saying word, rather than just individual servers
Reason: I'd rather not be banned from the entire game desu.
Hitmarkers
It screams to me that the developers were too lazy to make an organic feedback for hitting someone (like the DINK and blood splatter in CS or the loud impact noises in RO2) and it puts me off playing faster than pretty much anything.
anime characters, it often comes with all the tropes, cliches, boring banter and one-sided characteristics
how many years of Yea Forums brainwashing does it take to actually believe this?
zero you lardnigger
>Paradox Interactive style DLC
I'm not going to spend $100 on DLC. I have less interest in the vanilla game knowing they stopped improving it a year ago to reblance the 8 DLC packs.
>drag and drop pirate DLC
Paradox style DLC are the best
Command and Conquer red alert 2 is pretty dope yo
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
>It's a love letter to the 80's/90's
>Dark Souls-inspired
>Earthbound inspired
>Zelda inspired
>quirky
>meta humor / 4th wall breaking
>2D sidescroller
>bright, simplistic pixel art
>characters have bouncing hair
>"Roguelike" but is actually nothing like Rogue or even actual Roguelikes
>clearly Japanese inspired but done by a western developer
>Lovecraft inspired
>ambiguous open-ended story
>low poly + flat shading
>survival / crafting
>"X with your friends"
>"X simulator"
>A modern [classic Japanese game]!
Why can't mutts and europoors leave the superior Japanese classics alone? Nobody wants to play Earthbound but worse because you can just play Earthbound.
>Western game
>Set in Japan
I don't know why Japanese people can set games in America and make classics like killer7 but westerners trying to make games set in Japan end up making something cringe like DDLC.
>X simulator
Get a load of this zoomer
>It's a western game
That's it.
You listed everything except...
>Battle Royale
>Gatcha Games
>eSports
>High poly 3D Platformers
counterargument
>Admitting you've been here for less than a year
You may be the dumbest nigger on this board, holy shit.
Social justice. When you look at the garbage bioware and Ubisoft have shat out recently, then look at their Twitter and see them bragging about the number of unqualified women and minorities in their ranks, a picture starts to form.
It leads to ugly characters, a forced agenda which makes the story feel inorganic, and a general preachy overtone that i don't appreciate. All the while the game fucking sucks but the devs can still pat themselves on the back because at least they were "progressive". Critics can barely say shit because they're afraid of getting branded a misogynist for going against the grain. Triple A studios are doing it, indies are doing it, and it always goes bad.
Always considered myself liberal btw. But ffs get this garbage out of my vidya. It's all so fucking tiresome.
Day one, on the disc DLC also. Won't buy the game if it has it. That shit used to be unlockable characters you bastards. Don't support this garbage. No good game has ever had microtransaftions and loot boxes either
>"Single mom, I like hunting, camping, drinking, and horses. Take me travelling. And buy me Chipolte."
>"Looking for a Jim Halpert to my Pam Beasly."
>no bio in general
>No gameplay trailers, all cinematics
>Early Access
>Crowd Funded/Kickstarted
>Triple A game
>Accolade Commercials
If a game is honest with it's marketing and promotion I usually don't mind if it ends up being mediocre, since I can assess pretty accurately what the final product will be like. Ex: Overwatch, Hellblade, RDR2, ect.
When a game promises and alludes to features that clearly won't make the final cut, or when it doesn't communicate when that ends up being the case. When it's a clear downgrade from a previous iteration it seriously kills any desire to play the game. This is often the case when it feels "too good to be true." Ex: Battlefront 2, MGS V, Fallout 4.

>Get gear that does slightly higher damage
>In order to reach for gear that does slighthly further higher damage
>In order to reach for gear that does slighthly further higher damage
t. irrelevant country
EA, Bethesda, Blizzard or Gearbox logos on the box.
>We're trying to branch out to a wider demographic for this game, but we're still confident our old fans will love it too!
Every single time this has happened, it basically meant:
>game is casualized to shit
>sells mildly higher than other entries in the series
>dev tanks all goodwill with old fans and either damage controls hardcore or shits on the old fans, only to put out a faithful sequel years later to try and win them back
I don't get why this happened so much in the past decade.
It's an FPS with some kind of experience mechanic
If mainstream media praises a western game for it's story telling or characters. I know that just translates to "someone's a lesbian." I don't care if you're LGBTQ in real life but to be honest I'm just tired of this being considered so brave and empowering. You know what's brave? Coming up with a new reveal or twist for your game than a character's sexuality. It's just not new anymore. It's just virtue signaling. What the hell does someone like The Last of Us director know about being a lesbian?
>What the hell does someone like The Last of Us director know about being a lesbian?
He knows that it’ll make his game a shoo-in for all sorts of awards, even if they don’t mean jack shit.
Bethesda
Their games have nothing I like about video games
