Can we have a serious discussion about The State of Play? I thought it was pretty good.
Is all the hate generated soleley by normalfags?

>this was suppose to replace E3
The only thing there is to talk about really is how even YouTube's normalfag-central don't like it. From a marketing perspective this might have been one of the dumbest moves Sony has ever made and will probably have catastrophic effects on the PS5 launch, which will now have to be delayed several years to dodge this fiasco.
yeah I thought it was great as well
I had a good laugh
Come on, now. You can't genuinely believe that.
It was a complete shitshow.
Snoyboys on damage control
but that's what makes it good
I liked it. VR is selling quite well and it's nice that there is a focus on it. I don't know what the fuck is up with everyone else but the games looked good and the tech is building up serious heat.
But it's not even an entertaining shitshow like Konami E3 2010.
It's 20 minutes of a monotone voice telling you to buy PSVR.
>no one playing the flute, no dude with a banjo
it was pretty boring to be honest
>6:56
>"Playstation VR players have a lot to get excited about!"
Too bad the rest of us don't have anything to get excited about except the resell value of our consoles.
It’s like if the president came out for the state of the union and said “yeah, we’re doing okay, thanks to everyone for coming out.” And then he just leaves.
I legit saw nothing I'd want
Maybe Days Gone since I skipped the zombie phase from a while back
Do you play as the bad guys since it's a biker gang?
>I thought it was pretty good.
Are you shitting me? This was on par with Nintendo's E3 2015.
No Ape Escape 4
The fuck is this? Is the best VR can come up with now seriously simulating the same controller you COULD be holding in your hand?
Fucking VR has been a mistake.
>state of play
>all vr shit and no games
NO
GAMES
People got angry because they thought it was supposed to be Sony's replacement for E3.
How? Fucking HOW are you able to achieve the slightest bit of joy from this shit? You even got a FNAF-trailer for crying our loud. That shit hasn't been relevant in years.
There again this is the company that thinks zombie survival is somehow something to get excited about...
How was it good? It was literally 20 minutes of shitty VR games
It was good if you had a spare $350 lying around and got a VR set, but everyone else got fucked.
Just basic thing. Not good, not bad. I don't really have any expectations for commercials.
>vr games aren't games
>Sony literally skipped E3 for this
Why why why? You have the most to lose, why would you possibly do this?
>drop one the greatest handheld hardware that was vita like an old pair of stinky socks
>shill the shittiest VR headset on the market next to carboard vr like it's the second coming of jesus
ok sony
retarded californians make the shots now
Of course it is. Everyone on God's Green Earth owns a PS4 already. What are they gonna do, sell you the same box again? Of course they want to sell you their NEW tech.
no games
it's the other way around
they skipped E3 so they wouldn't end up showing this at E3
They did a poor job
>Sony literally skipped E3 for this
This isn't their replacement for E3. They said they were going to do multiple State of Plays throughout the year.
Do you not understand the domino effect? After deleting the original upload after it got down-voted into the pits of Hell, and the new one not doing any better, they are stigmatized. When State of Play 2 (or whatever they end up calling it) comes out people will WANT to hate it.
And no amount of marketing will help that shit go down any smoother.
>Go to E3
>Show the same games again + VR shit
>Get embarrassed infront of millions
Better to get embarrassed now infront of a smaller audience. It's going to be funny as fuck when Sony comes back to E3 in 2019/2020 for the PS5 reveal and they have to pretend like they never talked shit about the event.
To me, the problem wasn't even the games (or lack thereof). It was the presentation of what they DID have to show.
Literally every single "game" was smothered in rap and dubstep, the fucking anthem of the normalfags.
i'm sure that people will still watch it. who knows, i don't have any sony stocks. what the fuck do i care.
>youtube.com
Is it strange that I picture every single PS4 owner this way?
it's the most popular normalfag console
so no you're pretty accurate actually.
It was what I expected. They didn't give it much marketing compared to PSX or Paris games week. Still wasn't a good first impression since now everyone is going to ignore the next show just like they ignore Inside Xbox.
PSX is the E3 replacement, this is meant to be like the directs that aren't the E3 ones.
>african american
>playstation hoodie
>all up on his shit
this might be the best portrayal of the Sony'gger ever made
No, the only draw is it’s a true open world, sort of like MGSV. So no going to a point to start a mission. For example, if you already have your mission objective, you can walk into the mountains with a sniper rifle and just start killing people in the enemy base from far away. You don’t need to stand in a specific spot or follow someone to do something. Add that with real time weather/day-night cycle and a real time zombie horde, and I can see why some might like it.
It was ass. I own a VR and really enjoy using it. But the majority of the games they showed were on the verge of being fucking shovelware. And the fact that by far the best trailer of the show was for a 3rd party semi competitive fighting game.
>everybody's golf vr was lit
you can use the dualshock 4 with VR, retardo
To me the saddest part was just how bad they managed to make VR look. Everyone with an IQ over 8 knew that VR wasn't going to light the world on fire.
We're talking about consoles that can't do 60fps 1080p in 2019. There was really no way they would be able to pull off anything interesting with VR and that kinda power.
What's sad is how desperately Sony seem to be clinging to this concept. PC's many VR goggles have pretty much concluded it an indie-shovelware machine (like that entire platform), Xbox never talk about it, despite them earlier wanting to get a horse in the race, and Nintendo is too focused on becoming a phone of all things.
But Sony seem to have hope that they can somehow salvage a piece of tech that clearly hasn't fucking latched on the way they hoped it would. Listen, Sony, I know you're the kings of the world in console-sales, and that's all on you, but you gotta let some things go.
I mean, you dropped the Vita without problem so why are you so desperate to hammer home a system no one alive wants?
Aren't most of vr only games borderline shovelware tech demos anyway? Doesn't matter what platform. Some exceptions but still.
Theyre literally going full damage control
>"Remember EXCLUSIVES right?"
youtu.be
Banging out my thoughts on each game shown
>I really like the idea of Iron Man VR but the actual gameplay looks like it has as much depth as a garbage Raw Thrills arcade game
>CTR Remastered looks fun but the idea of trying to force in Nitro Kart shit is weird
>Never touched NMS and had no interest but if the VR doesn't suck balls and I have friends who wanna play with me on it I might try it out
>Ready Set Heroes looks like a PS3 game you would have gotten for free with PS+ and got bored with in less than an hour
>Blood and Truth actually looks pretty damn cool but I'm worried that it's basically Uncharted 4 levels of "walking section disguised as a climbing segment"
>Didn't care for most of the sizzle trailer besides Everybody's Golf VR, I actually wanna get that game, that said I would have straight up fucking disliked the video if the Reddit and Morty game got more time shown than it did
>Observation looks like a neat concept, especially if you can go full HAL 9000, but there's barely any actual gameplay to it
>FNAF VR confuses me cause I thought the appeal of the series was the pre-rendered graphics
>Concrete Genie has the most scatter brained trailer cause I have no fucking clue what the actual plot of the game is
>Days Gone might end up being the most bland, generic game Sony ever puts out but I guess I'll give it a rent in April
>Don't care about Mortal Kombat
I love VR and Astro Bot was one of my favorite games of last year but that was way too much VR announcements, plus where the fuck is
>Medievil Remastered
>TLOU 2
>Death Stranding
Hell fucking Dreams got it's early access release trailer the next day so I have no fucking clue what's going on with Sony
PS5
Did sony actually say this was their E3 replacement? The only ones I see saying that are Yea Forums so i don't know.
it's literally just that they have nothing to announce this year since PS5 and anything they're making for it is probably for 2020
so rather than make a E3 where they announce a bunch of VR shovelware plus some dude playing the banjo to pan it to 1hour, they're just skipping it and did a video instead
Since Sony already said they aren't doing E3 and didn't do Playstation Experience last year, people expected this to be the replacement
This. Those threads here on /vee/ were pure joy.
no, braindead retards on Yea Forums think it is because their minds default to anything that is negative towards sony
>E3 in july
>People expected this march livestream to be their replacement
What the fuck
>the absolute state of play
Sony's already stated they are doing more of these throughout the year
I don't really care, it's a monthly thing, or bi monthly so I see no reason why every single event needs to be monumental or for everyone. If that was E3 then I would get the shitposting.
Didn't mean to quote
>Hell fucking Dreams got it's early access release trailer the next day so I have no fucking clue what's going on with Sony
That's a good thing. You don't want casuals going into a limited early access and spam copies/assets flips of already existing assets. It was a growing problem in the beta once they allowed in more people.
Medievil will probably be pushed to 2020 seeing that the developers are mobile devs.
it was alright but too much vr shit
this
so much shitty fnaf and mario remakes started popping up when they opened the floodgates
As an avid VR user I'm let down by most of this. Iron Man VR looks like another rail shooter, FNAF VR is FNAF VR, Vacation Simulator was already announced, the NMS VR update announcement was a pleasant surprise but it's also going to be on SteamVR too so I don't care about it as a PSVR title. Also Days Gone is going to be shit and they keep stalling out its release so when it finally comes out it's even more of a letdown than if it were shat out a year after the reveal
It was a fucking trash fire, what the hell.
It was alright considering people usually want them to get VR out of the way quick, and they literally just did months worth of VR announcements months before the E3 State of Play. They should have ended on Ghost of Tsushima even if its just a quick 2 minute look with no release date.
VR is a shit meme that needs to die
>paying millions to advertise third-party games
Wait, this happened already?
