writing a book and writing for a game is completely different. Gameplay in a traditional sense is repetition, something that doesn't go well with the more linear and controlled story-telling that old fat guy is used to. And it gets even more difficult if the game isn't Uncharted kind of linear.

In the article I read, it was said that you'd have to kill the ruler of each kingdom to steal their powers. Perhaps it will be some magocratic world in which kings and queens are sorcerers that reached the top thanks to their powers.

Better: if you want a direct sign to see where a rushed ASOIAF takes you, watch at the previous season of GoT. Utter dogshit. Season 6 was also shaky but had some good moments, but 7 was irredeemably fucking terrible. The writers had to work off of Martin's treatments for the final three seasons, which makes sense with the quality drop: he was bound to have a somewhat fleshed out groundwork for Book 6 but there can't have been much beyond the barest roadmap for Book 7.
