Depends on when was the last time you played. I personally think it's in a decent state right now. My biggest complain is the lack of content in the late game. In the last quite a few patches all they added was
>more blocks to build with
>more places to explore to get blocks to build with
>a reason to explore the ocean(which is a good thing altho that gets boring after finding your first few treasure chests)
>more mobs to get meat from
>shulker boxes, elytra and trident which is the kind of late game content I want but I still don't think it's enough
It's still fun if all you care about is building but if not then you will get bored after playing with everything it has.
