Honestly I don't think its too unlikely. While DoR was a bit polarizing it actually outsold Dual Strike and several IS lead devs who are at the studio and have previously worked on AW have stated they would love to make a new game.
I think the biggest problem the IP faces is that its bigger outside of Japan than domestically. IS being a Japanese company I imagine they are primarily concerned with making a game for the Japanese first and the rest of the world second.

While we are at it, why did the AI cheat so bad in AW1 and 2? Was it hardware related, like the CPU would slow the game down if it had to calculate its vision range or something? DS and DoR implemented it just fine so its not like they didn't know how the algorithm should work.

tabitha in the art style of the original would look cute, also I wish that the IDS army at least looked like BH units especially seeing how the enemy armies near the end of the game were suppose to be automatic troops.

why the fuck was DoR completely ready to launch in japan from day 1, but took years and years before it hit shelves there. in fact the entire japanese "translation" is already placed in the game and ready to go, it was just dummied out.
