I'm trash at fightan despite being interested for a long time, but I think unist is sticking with me. It's a lot of fun and I like the style and characters.
I'm learning with eltnum but also want to try wagner. My biggest hurdle right now is actually playing against other people. I've only hopped on some of the nightly Yea Forums lobbies but I haven't touched ranked and don't think I have a local scene

does Puyo Puyo count as a fighting game?

What is a good fighting game to get into?
I never really played them (only tekken 1/2 back then) and wanted to try to git gut.
I started playing DoA6 but the community seems really small, even for a fighting game.

Under Night. Has a fantastic tutorial and the discord is always there to help new players. Plus there a new of new players getting into it too so you won't have too much trouble finding players in your skill range.

Try launching the game from big picture mode and checking your controller settings. I've had similar problems and that seems to work.

Yet I still can't settle on a game or character. Right now though, for each game I like Lee, Hyde, and Bedman the most. However, I haven't found one that really "clicked" where it felt like they were truly mine, but I suppose that's less common than it seems.

Sidenote but it's also insane how many UNI players there are here, it has to have one of the highest densities for them out of any general vidya community out there.

I guess one thing that helped me get that down on my character is to make sure I was keeping 6 pushed down when I hit B or C.

Playing unist lately. Still trying everyone but theres at least linne, akatsuki and mika that im enjoying. Merkava and hilda are shaping up to be reliable secondaries.

I've been trying to learn GRIM REAPAH but even "easy" combos I have trouble with. Trying to stop Rekkas halfway has been tough to get down muscle memory-wise (especially his which have a huge gap before the first 6A press but almost none before the last one)

My friend who has never played a FG picked up UNI like 5 days ago, and thanks to the tutorial, primers, etc. he can kind of (used very loosely here) take me on in game with Wagner already.

I have the issue that I'm interested in every fighting game I see and then I spread myself out too thin and never learn anything. The only game I've ever played online is SFV as Birdie and I am literal garbage tier. Currently learning H.Kohamech in Melty Blood and trying to find a main in UNiST (I like both Chaos and Hilda but they both seem like bad beginner characters).

My issue with Hilda is more that I am awful at button hold and 22 specials/dash normals, which seem pretty integral to her kit.
