There's still time, Yea Forums
Miyazaki was pretty much a NEET until he was 24 and decided to make games
>Until he was 24
The average Japanese student knows more than the average American college grad. They spend 16 hours a day studying college level textbooks.
You can't even tell a good story until you're 30.
>tfw 24 in a week
is there any hope for me?
How do I get into game industry I can’t into art or code but I can make a pretty autistic story and ideas
I'm 26 though.
No.
Write a novella.
Get into writing.
he worked for oracle, he wasn't a neet
I don’t want to write a book I want to bring my occult furry satanic guro horror ideas to life
I'm 33 zoomer
I'm 29, though. On the other hand I have a law degree. On the other other hand I can't imagine working ever. Guess I'll stay a highly qualified neet.
neck yourself furry
>"I don't want to work, I just want it to happen."
There are a million shitty ideas just like yours. You need something to build off of it.
Not until I make this happen
Tough luck buddy without you writing a book in japanese about it, it won’t happen.
>28
no there isn't
But I can’t write I’m dyslexic :( and can’t into grammar
Why bother slending all that money, time, and effort to get a degree?
Why didn't you do anything with your law degree?
Thats what editors are for you fucking dumpling
>money
lmao american
kill yourself you useless piece of shit
Fuck it.
I want to play games, not make them.
If you aren't a chipd prodigy its too late for you
There are toddlers making masterpieces and getting phds while you browse Yea Forums, give up
If I kms will I come back as a cute fox?
Wrong, even with government grants its still not enough to live and go to school off of
>:(
imagine being this pathetic ahahaha
Drop the furry part and I'll help
Unironically. Ask purple haired sjw's. Say what you want about them but they know how to get into writing jobs like water though cracks.
Thats why japan college are top world oh wait they are not the top ones are AMERICAN ya chink lover weeb pedo cuck
That only matters in music. It seems every person who has revolutionized music had strict parents who forced them to start around 6 years of age. Children are not writing masterpiece novels. You probably saw a cnn article specially crafted to demoralize you.
So literally nothing just go flip some burgers you will earn more money

Why Japanese?
What about Dutch
Why try when you could fail?
You do know that the rankings are rigged right? It's based on how much research a university produces. That does not necessarily translate to a higher quality of education for the students.
>ranking system that only takes english publications into account

Also friendly reminder of how stanford got beat by a bunch of high school kids from the ghetto in a research contest. So much to the elite

My dream is to become a writer in the vidya industry too and I'm legit studying to become one.
Do they specifically need purple hair?
I'm 26, been out of college for 4 years. Got decent job in oil field and making shitton of money. But work 28 and 28. Half my life I'm not home, shit sucks bros. ty for reading my blog, be sure to like and subscribe for more updates.
>hay guyise can u get me a writing job where i only write about demons the occult also maybe light snuff haha nothing to much haha
I feel bad, but I've worked for the last 5 years on my novel and it's about to go into drafting/editing. I've been going through hell with concept artists for promo materials, and I'm about to sink a grand into a copy-edit on a 500-page tome that will get it least 100 pages of my effort ripped out before it goes to beta.
This isn't gloating, but I legit didn't know the difference between 'than' and 'then' when I started. You can do it.

i'm sure that women's studies degree will get you far in prison
>and I'm legit studying to become one
I sincerely hope you aren't wasting time and money taking classes specifically for vidya writing.
The only way is through connections. Start networking. Follow others in the industry on twitter and suck up to them in replies to their tweets.
Make sure to be visibility "progressive" in some way. You don't need to go full sjw but you need to make regular comments about need for more diversity in games etc. or people might suspect you could be right wing.
Live in USA.
Apply to as much as possible. (low grade writing positions sounds like what you want but consider QA as it might be a more realistic entry, there's also some hr and pr stuff you might be able to do and then side step later).
Well you won't win if you don't try either.
>can't even understand statistics, rankings and what they're based on
yup, you guys sure are smart
>But work 28 and 28

I fucking wish I was only 24
>unironically advanced music as an art form.
>Graduated high school

I mean, it's social science and I doubt it helped him much with his true vocation, but that's not a NEET.
He's still a NEET now, literally an ideas guy for FROM.
>becoming apart of forced disversity uhhh
I don’t even want to make stories about humans
>he doesnt know why university exists
No wonder why you never ever put a foot into one
I wonder how a vidya writing class would be.
this, you need coding or at least design skills to get into vidya, if you want to be a vidya writer without studying vidya stuff your better off just being a writer
I wish I was 20 forever.
>biting obvious bait
Fucking stupid dipshits.
24 is super fucking young. It'd be different if be started in his 30s or 40s

What should I do Yea Forumsros, just make an indie game? I have no artistic abilities for actual art and music sadly, just game design and programming.
i don't think you understand how self centered and idiotic some americans truly are
You can't have your cake and eat it too you literal child
and he started working there in the n64 era when people were literally handing out jobs to anyone.
This is true for art as well. I started drawing at 20 went to art center at 24 and got my ass whooped by 18 year old Asians whp had been in private art schools since they were 6. Most if the games industry is flooded with Asians in art for a reason
You can be a neet after getting a degree. I don't know if Miyazaki was, but it is possible.
Expect coding isn’t what I’m trying to do
Then why is their productivity lower than American workers? They got some problems for all their supposed superiority.
28 days offshore platform in another country, 28 days back home.
the mere fact that writing and story shit in vidya is looked at as so important nowadays, shows that there is no hope
Cant you become a lawyer now lol,
>I don't want to develop any skills but I want people to take me seriously
Fuck off retard
You absolutely can, but the connotations of the OP were than Miyazaki was somehow a waste of space until 24 and then suddenly got his shit together, which regardless of post-college employment is far from the case.
Are you implying this hasn't happened or what?
to be fair the industry was pretty different back then.
>I have no artistic abilities for actual art and music sadly
That is okay, neither do most indie devs. You can just contract a guy to do a soundtrack for you though.
at least understanding the basics of it is the least you can do, if only just to have better insight into the jobs of people you want to work with.
this is common sense
>implying
He worked for Oracle.

Not like you have a future in writing either.

Programming should be enough to get into a studio, maybe try making some games in unity or something similar to have a portfolio
child prodigies ain't shit btw, unless we're talking about sports
for better or for worse your aptitude and your odds of success don't correlate 1:1 in creative/academic disciplines, there are other more important factors and a fuckton of randomness
Nope. Doing a B.A in English. You can laugh all you want but this is something that I not only enjoy but am also good at. Will graduate in about a year. Then hopefully I can land a job a publishing/news company while I work on getting some kind of internship at one of the big vidya companies.
So? You have absolutely no drive to do anything that requires work.
You are a pathetic waste of space.
Yeah but I'm 31.
Not in the past 30 years, yeah
>coding is the only part of game design
Ur a idort
>imagine unironically believing that
Yep. I remember my art teacher saying entire swathes of art students in the early 2000s got hired on graduation. Like entire graduating classes by DreamWorks and game companies. Now you're lucky to see more than a couple make it in their lifetime per graduating class. Games industry is over saturated with talent now unfortunately
>turned 24 today
uh oh bros
>I want to be in the game industry writing stories
>What? I have to work myself up so I can achieve my dream? Fuck that!
kys
I just turned 27 and I'm a college dropout working in retail. There's no hope anymore
>31
>mfw my cock stopped working and it takes forever to fap now
As someone who followed your career path, noone gives a shit about an english degree ESPECIALLY publishing and news companies. My recommendation is to start making contacts NOW with those people, start writing for them, start talking them up, make friends. It's all about connections, the degree is just another they'll toss in a pile of shit they don't care about.
If you're not working towards getting into the gaming industry from 17+, it isn't going to happen.
Miyazaki didn't wake up on his 24th birthday, walk into FROM and start making games you retard.
Who said anything about the past 30 years?
I sure hope it's possible because I am one
Hope you're trolling. 90% of English majors struggle for employment for years post grad. You'll be making 25 to 35k a year for years trying to move up somewhere

It's my birthday too let's celebrate.
No I mean I am a NEET with a degree and I'm in no hurry to leave that situation
are you one of those people that consider ""writing"" to be an important part of videogames?
personally, I am glad people like you usually have no drive and will never achieve something in this field. games on a whole are better for it.
go write a book, if you have the discipline to do so without having to fap and do nothing for hours in between writing 2 paragraphs
>90% of English majors struggle for employment for years post grad
Did you pull these stats out of your ass?
Ubisoft has a program for comp sci/engineering graduates.
>American workers
The most productive American workers are indians, chinese, and other migrants. Most murricans are either stuck doing low wage jobs, or NEETs who post in anonymous imageboards, like you.
>28

>6.5k a month
It's from a high-tier university and writing is a valuable skill to have in any industry. Everyone has it tough these days and more often than not it doesn't really matter what degree you have long as you've got one.
Not surprised. It's one of the many useless degrees out there that's not in demand in any way. Art is ugly anyway
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""talent"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

source?
>are you one of those people that consider ""writing"" to be an important part of videogames?
Not him, but how is writing not important to something like an rpg?
I'm 31 and I haven't worked since December 2007. I dropped out of high school at 15 and have been an anxious wreck since then.
The fuck do I do then huh?
the main reason you go to college is so you can meet a lot of people so you can network into a cushy job.
Yes and now go prove it by majoring in something useless aka not STEM
>I'm gonna make it guys!
See you at 45 when you're staring down the barrel of retirement with no savings and are still earning less than pimply teens flipping burgers.
elementary, but in Europe, hence the salary
See a therapist bro trust me
>implying STEM is useful
Say hi to pajeet on your way out
How do you network if your autistic, 30 years old and haven't made a friend since middle school
why are mutts so threatened by Asian countries? Do they unironically believe Muttmerica is better than Japan?
hope you're fit and good looking. life might throw you a bone later down the line
thats what i'm hoping for anyway. ive been stuck with the mom since her stroke and boy i feel like a full blown maid sometimes keeping her place in check since shes more of a slob than me. the house turns to shit in the matter of days if i'm not around to pick up her shit
That's depressing as fuck. I hope you went to therapy at the very least.
Start learning something NOW. Life's too short to waste it like that
Pajeet makes three times your income liberal arts fag. I'm Indian in SF and make 300k a year. Meanwhile my shit unskilled white friends are barely making 40k post grad. Lick my boots pig
some genres it is of more importance than none, yes, fair enough.
but even then, if the mechanics and overall design is incoherent or sucks, no amount of writing will prevent that videoGAME from being shit
I know how you feel. The thing is what some people don't understand is, you're probably the type that does't have much direction in life, or even maybe faith in your own conviction, and you're good at something in school and your teachers/career adviser say: "oh you're good at X. Do a career in X", so you go off and do that degree, but by the end of it you're like: I got the degree. I even have a good grade too, but do I really want to do this for the rest of my life. Its kind of fun, I guess, but I kind of wished I just made videogames or learned to do something cool instead. To make something or be involved in something with even a slither of significance and be like: I made this.
I'm the same with my business degree. In fact I was worse. I was a bit of an outcast despite being good. People were like: seriously!? This guy is a business student too and we got to work with him?
Not even maliciously, just like because I come off as laid back, casual (in clothes and demeanor), and really polite, and a total nerd. I felt so alien talking about my interests and people just not knowing what to say. They were just normal people looking the part doing businessy business stuff.
It was like I was a guy from the regular old colourful (and apparently silverfish ridden) campus who had got lost and accidentally ended up in the big glass modern building full of suits.
I'd just be sitting there minding my own business quietly working and people would come up to me and be like "are you OK!?" And I'd be like "yeah. Im pretty good. Thank you. Just chilling" and they'd be like "oh! I'm so sorry! I thought you was upset or lonely" and I'd be like "nah I'm good. I just like to sit here and relax between sessions".
You think I'm making that up but it happened on at least six different occasions in my first year.
become a tranny and apply to work at ubisoft
fuck, meant
Sure you are William.
>I'm Indian
You just prove my point m8
its not easy to get over anxiety. Cognitive behavioral therapy helps a lot (you dont even need to see a therapist to practice this. It just requires lots of discipline) .
I myself am horrible with people but eventually i learned that you will attract people who are similar to you. Doing small favors for them tricks their brain into giving something in return and it usually something a lot bigger than what you give them.
happy birthday anons
You're not autistic, stop making excuses.
>12 years
Whoomaigawd how do u even neet for that long without going insane I have been one for like maybe little more than 1 year and I’m already losing it
I've been a few times with varying success. I used to not be able to even look someone in the eye but I can do that fine now. I can go outside and feel ok if I have a goal or something to do.
Most of the time there's no reason to go outside and I see no benefit from ever rejoining society because there's no benefit.
Not super fit at around 200lbs. Basic skinnyfat dad bod. But I'm ginger so not bones being thrown my way.
Basically given up on ever finding a relationship desu. I'm a low status male with nothing to offer, thus I have no worth as a man. Sorry to hear about your troubles though user sounds worse than mine.
He didn’t make a game until his mid thirties though
You lose all track of time after the second year
because you're measuring productivity per hour and we don't work very long hours
it's not complicated, you ever had crunch time you'll recall performing like shit if you were even awake enough to notice
The best that you could do is go independent on your learning. Most of the shit they teach in college wouldn't help you that much
Depends on the subject. I looked at some Nip courses for Philosophy out of morbid curiosity and all the ones I found were pretty limited in scope. Even if the level of teaching there was fantastic for what they did do, that alone would drag the quality of learning you get out from it considerably.
because it takes time to establish yourself enough to become a director
>I'm Indian in SF and make 300k a year.
Why do people on the internet have such an intense need to lie?
I would become a tranny if I could become cute and passable
>Basically given up on ever finding a relationship desu.
same. at least if you're good looking and fit you can get some good easy hires or networking since attractive people get seen as smart and have amazing personalities.

The years blend into each other after 1-2 years of neethood.
I don’t know if I will make it 2 years I’m unironcally in the verge on sudoku
I'm 22 and in the past year I've done a couple of different courses and worked on done some personal unpaid work. I'm trying, but it's tough. Is there hope?
OP said he started making games at 24, which is untrue
You aren't going anywhere better than them. Good luck making money loser

Dead wrong. You're a dumbass who doesn't have any real knowledge about vidya.

Plus many others.
Japanese media requires no talent. The writing is absolute dogshit fanfic tier whether its anime movies vidya or television, the acting is atrocious, the cinematography is flat and bland bordering on youtuber tier. The only piece of japanese media that has SOME effort put into it is anime and even then half of it is still backgrounds with minimal movement while an unenthusiastic voice actor exposits the retarded plot for the sixth time that season.
throw in an honorary mention for BB's OST(which, I know, he had fuckall to do with) and I'm with you 100%
Find just one productive, beneficial thing you can work on for a bit each day. It's only a first step, but that can be a foundation to doing more.

>Miyazaki was pretty much a NEET until he was 24 and decided to make games
Wikipedia says he went to college then worked as an account manager and didn't even attempt to get into games until 29 after being both educated and employed. Does NEET mean something else now?
How do I enjoy coding?
It's so fucking boring, I can't even make it through udemy courses.
how ready?
Didn't he graduate from Tokyo U? Everyone was surprised he decided to work for a small game company like FromSoft even though he was way overqualified.

Hah. This also happened to me on several occasions. I'd like to think I conduct myself fairly nicely. I interact with other people efficiently and humor them when I think they want small talk on whatever normalshit topics they might be into, but I just can't seem to remove that lazy casual "introvert" feel they see in me. I think it's a good thing though, I have no trouble reigning basically everyone despite being on the same age and level.

It's a tough one to get past, but you're still in the age where you can be in training and it's not frowned upon
No, it means the same as always. Not in the entertainment industry.
what this guy says the games industry is different from other software fields in that portfolio is like 10 times more important. It's closer to traditional art and photography in that respect. Do stuff on your spare time. Just being a good coder will not get you anywhere in that field if you haven't got any game-related projects to show
the mechanics in those games work and without the writing, the game would still be enjoyable. how does that make me wrong?
you're not one of those people that gets an ego boost out of online fights and tries to look like the winner no matter what, are you?
I just turned wizard
The power is nice but I still havent found meaning in life
I like painting plastic spacemen and model tanks/planes that's pretty much my only hobby outside of video games.
its not written in english yet since Im going to see what the publishers around here are saying about it yet but I basically just have the final round of revision left for a few chapters
been writing it for a little under a year now, less fast now that I have a job but its still coming out in one form or another this year
low test thumbless dicklet detected, ive already made money by writing throughout the years but this is the first actual full sized novel ive made

Real story, He get to work in Oracle America as coder, someday play ICO and say oh I want make videogames and move to From Software as programmer some shitty projects and then get direction on almost dead project than become demon souls.
I can think of
>have your own writings and get them noticed
>make your own scenarios and mods and do your own writing and scripting for them
>find some people doing indie games and do all you can to join them and be the ideas guy
do they need someone for hfe? I'll apply if you drop a name hand on the vedas.

Or just have connections.
My brother doesn't know how to code but his friend hooked him up with a job at EA.
He's at a coding bootcamp right now and will be able to work in a few months.
Not in EntertainmEnT.
yes, you're a special big boy who's taking on the world.
you probably wouldn't experience much even if you had a job, all around me i see the same faces i've seen for decades stuck in the same shitty jobs. get a hobby

This happened to me when I was 26 for a couple of months. I started fapping a lot less (I actually go nofap for weeks, sometimes up to a month at a time) and severely limiting the amount of porn I watched (I used to spend entire days watching. Now I watch like 10 minutes every few weeks or so). I also have been working out more consistently and I'm feeling pretty good. Even started getting morning wood a lot more often.
Have you taken it to an editor and beta readers? You need a copy-edit and a contextual edit before a publisher will look at it.

not in finland
its written by professional standards, I have zero doubts that its publishable quality wise, the only question for me is what kind of deal am I myself ready to accept/ work with (and its not purely about the money)
What I don't understand is how can someone with a degree in social science and experience as an Account Manager (cushy office job) find employment with a vidya company at 29? I guess it was just a different time back then.
no, i got all the time in the world to post here :^)
Completely serious. Nepotism bullshit where they let anyone in if you're friends with someone, don't even care about skill.
Enjoy failing at life with that path lmao
You didn't answer my question.
Even professionally educated writers get their shit looked at by an editor. I have no idea what it's like in Finland, but in the west you are usually expected to do 3 drafts, and 2 edits.
I had a job at 19 for 8 months doing retail but I spent all the money I got from it and I have nothing to show it’s like it was just a bad dream and everyday I didn’t want to be there

now it all makes sense, all of modern finnish "literature" is written by teens
>but in the west you are usually expected to do 3 drafts, and 2 edits.
and ive done more than that, inb4 im not an official editor
finland has less people than some american cities, publishing doesnt go through as many gates

>you too can make shitty games for a living
Yeah hard pass on that, mate
How about this: I am 30, been working on the same job for the past 5 years and now on the verge of divorce.
I can see why Finnish books don't see much of an international market now, no offense
Haha you strike me as young and uneducated. Your work is probably much worse than you think and you haven't even had eyes on it yet. You're gonna be in for a rude awakening when you get 50 rejections and give up. Stop being an insecure neet and find something else. You need more introspection and life experience to do good writing
Planetescape wouldn't really work through its mechanics alone. The game is too simple and it only really gets fun when you unlock ridiculous spells that allow you to breeze through encounters.
The game is all about the experience and it would suffer greatly without the writing.
in his defense, how many languages do you speak, friend?
i understand what you're saying but for someone like me who puts in hours trying to work my butt off only to get bad grades it makes me think im only going to stay at the bottom even if i get a job. The only good skill i have is the ability to make people laugh
>inb4 im not an official editor
No, you retard, the point is that the editor is a different fucking person. Not that it's a big boy title. You goddamn imbecile.
That is also true. That kind of applies to pretty much any job though. Networking is essential.
>im 20
>ive been writing it for almost a year now
if you consider "under 20" a teen then sure
everything in your post was wrong except education level since I didnt max it out and instead went to actual work
> You need more introspection and life experience
you dont know anything about my life but youll regret your words and deeds
because there are very few and the ones that are there are often hard to translate well
I had a 2.1 college GPA and make 6 figures now. I'm literally retarded like you. I worked my ass off. That was in a shitty liberal arts degree too. You gotta just sleeze your way in socially at job conventions and be friendly with people. Employers hire who they want to be friends with not who is skilled for most jobs.
Nice
thanks user. you give me hope
He's 20 and thinks his first novel is gonna be publishable and is quality. With no editor. He doesn't know what he's doing and probably writes like your average 20 year old
>if you consider "under 20" a teen then sure
perkele... why are finns so autismo?
At uni I could turn my flailing projects around just by going "OK. I'm in charge now. Let's do it like this" or just suggest good ideas to whoever was leader and they would usually run with it.
I don't lead unless I have to step up and do it because nobody else will. I influence groups like crazy though. Despite being a nomad sort and not really like being in groups I never really failed in one. I do my part, put my ideas forward, work quite readily with others and be punctual. I let whoever wants to lead, lead. I give them the benefit of the doubt. If things start going sour I just get whoever's left in the team, reallocate the work, do extra myself, and the idiot and lazy ones can just be strategically placed mouthpieces with a premade script to follow. (I had to do that twice. Scraped an average grade but that's way better than outright failure)
So I already know when chips are down I'm a scrappy sort.
Seriously man just make sure to get an internship somewhere and that's the most important thing. Fuck grades just get an internship or two and be friendly to the higher ups. At end of internship ask if they have any full time jobs for you. Fuck college and fuck grades my man
Miyazaki is sort of based but has the director of AC 3 and SL done anything else? Those are fucking awesome and the best ACs from what I've played so far, although I've heard Nexus onwards is amazing
simple=/=bad
also like I said, for some genres writing has more importance than others. But in general, all the things that actually make a game are infinitely more important. just think it out in your head real quick: How many % of (good) games mostly work because of the writing?
Do people like mega man, sekiro, castlevania, metroid, quake etc because of their "epic" stories? Maybe some autists do, but they are enjoyable because they play well. Same with fighting games. It coule have the best writing and story and no one who actually likes to play games would care, if the mechanics sucked.
In VNs (debateable if those are even games) and RPGs, yes writing has a rightful place, but again, what % are they?
Also don't confuse setting with writing, many people do that
You got any eduction?
Neither
Employed
Educating
or
Training
You can be Educated and still be a NEET
Where can I get a good resume template? Serious question.
The way the majority of studios work is that the writer is simply there to fill in the blanks. For example, in Uncharted, they thought of cool setpieces and then the writer just had to find a logical way to connect them. You can write a complex storyline but due to the actual devs or some restrictions, you need to cut all that to five lines. Most Creative Directors are usually also part of the writing team exactly so that they give the big cool ideas, and you're only there to fill the dead air. I doubt Miyazaki or someone like Kojima write much, they mostly just make sure the project has a unified idea, while making sure the actual writers keep up.
Red Dead 2 plays like shit and sold insanely well and people love it purely for story and setting
It's
>not in
Or maybe youre a seething dicklet desperate to pull everyone else down because its completely implausible to you that someone could actually do something
inb4 more seething tears that reveals your own insecurities and lack of skill at anything, thats all it is. You "people" wouldnt be so desperate to instantly jump at someones throat and scream NOO YOU CANT YOULL FAIL HAHAHA ITS PROBABLY SHIT if it wasnt for your desperate desire for everyone else to be as big of a mouthbreathing lazy failure as you
Do not work. It sucks, it'll wreck your life more than being a neet will.
My life is indubitably worse now, if only i had the presence of mind to keep on leeching like i was doing for 7 years at the time. I regret going out of my house, i regret "getting a life".
I have made my career path to work less and less until i can go back to being a hikki/neet if only for a few years, only a few years it's all i want. Just give me a few years of bliss before my end.
Neets of the world, you who dropped out 12 years ago, you the neet of 5 years, 2 years or 3. Heed the word of the workfag, GO BACK.
I do not know the Finnish literary trade, I'm a Leaf, but I know what it takes to get published in the English-market and I can say with reasonable certainty that what's essentially a self-edited self-published book translated from "trollkin-speak" will have an extremely poor chance of seeing a printing press or assisted distribution in an English-speaking country.
I mean good luck to you, you've got chutzpah, but you might want to have your book looked at by a professional and maybe a few readers. Hell, if you get it published in Finland, good on you.
Google has some decent templates that can look 9/10 with some editing
He was working at Oracle when he got the job at From Software. So no, he wasn't a neet.
He graduated from a famous university in Japan and got a job at a foreign company and then joined From.
There is no information that it was neat
Oh, duh. Neither implies two things. The sentiment is the same, but thanks for the correction.
i never said games that play like shit don't sell well.

That's different my dude, also not the point I was trying to make nor what the user I replied to was talking about.

Yeah, educating was just a bit too weird for me not to chip in. Thanks for being a good sport.
Yes but user's point was that the things that we know about Miyazaki preclude him from being
>a NEET until he was 24
because he had his primary education and then college and then went to work. There might be off years in there but the vast majority of them are accounted for.
I think you are. The definition clearly implies being actively in education.
Not really, apart from the basic stuff. It's gonna be the shitty, low-low end jobs for me, if at all.
this. it's over.
It's really funny seeing someone young going for a creative pursuit without even publishing their first thing say stuff like this. They're trying to help you if anything by telling you to prepare for disappointment. The creative world is brutally harsh and hey maybe you can make it. I made it in art and it was insanely difficult. I started at 15 and didn't get a real income (above 30k) until 30. My writing friends all had success in college but in the real world struggled. The most successful one is a copy editor now. Just prepare for how harsh it might be and be willing to deal with a ton of rejection and pessimism from people like in this thread. Anything creative will try to break you down and rip you apart. People that see your stuff will be mean spirited no matter what. Art or writing.

That's what it means, yes. What the fuck else could you consider it as? Non-teenagers?
really? how?
Look up the definition retard
>education level
>I didnt[sic] max it out
oh boy, and what's your "max"? Finishing HS? Getting a bachelor's? I seriously doubt it's getting tenure, or even a master's.
Exactly my thoughts. I hope this kid's not actually serious. Otherwise I see him crying himself to sleep within the next year when his "publishable quality" novel that don't need no editing and written at the age of 20, went straight to the trash bin.
>I'm Indian in SF and make 300k a year
90% of that 300k probably goes to renting some shoebox surrounded by crack addicts lmao
Japanese schools and businesses are extremely inefficient and less productive than most other countries. Their tech boom of the 80-90s invited a lot of dumbasses who pushed a lot of dumb policies that fucked everything up since then. They spend a fuckton of time getting very little done.
write 2000 word medieval RPG story. must be historical.
Well American academics are not representative of its citizen. America are leading in funneling talent from overseas into their universities.
People also don't really intimidate me because I spent ten years working retail as a cashier.
If there's anything I've learned in that job its maintaining a poker face, and dealing with situations where you absolutely can't do shit but wait for a solution, and have or keep the peace or just cheat to keep the flow going.
So many times I got no support and I just apologise a lot nicely so customers feel sorry for me, or put whatever through as something else to keep the queues down and the customers happy. Oh their French stick is the large and has no barcode but got charged as a small, oh what a cute mistake the cashier made, i wont come back and embarass him over it. I'll just pocket that difference.
Yeah. Silly me getting things wrong, you are right Mr.customer.

Don't fall for the college meme.
Writing is not a skill. Everyone can write. You need to find something actually unique, like composing, drawing, or programming.

Is 25 too late to start college? I've been out of work for 2 years and I'm so anxious all the time i can't muster up the courage to leave my house sometimes but shit i gotta do something soon.
Yes
I always thought it was weird since the definition of educating is about teaching and not learning, but I didn't care enough to bother finding out whether it was the right thing or not.
I can't speak for his intentions but I think he was specifying that situation and not exactly how it applied to Miyazaki specifically, in that anyone that graduated high school and college but took 2 years off (assuming a 4 year degree) isn't a NEET
Hell be like most people that do it. Won't be able to drop his dream until his late 20s and it'll be a harsh lesson when all his friends are starting families abs have good incomes. Then he will have to go back to school and get a completely new skill set from the bottom. And finally start a life in his 30s well and far behind most of his peers. Working with 22 year olds making the same income while having a boss 5 years younger than him ordering him around like he's stupid because he's in such a lowly position at his age.
Am I hitting you guys with reality too hard?
>tfw 25 this year
If I don't do anything by the end of 2019 I might just kill myself
nobody ever did this to me and im alone all the time :(
It's never too late to start college if you need that paper.
It's never too late, you can live until 80.
Writing well is absolutely a skill. That's like saying everyone can draw so there's no need for artists.
How do you even keep yourself alive? Seriously, I'm about to become a NEET and I'm already feeling the sting. Pretty much have to starve myself at least a couple of days to afford food.

Ur retarded dude. I'm gonna publish my novel and get loaded while ur crying at 30 doing nothing.....
False equivalence
Only a handful of people can express themselves through drawing in a comprehensible way comparable to basic literacy
Drawing and composition are ny far the hardest talents for a human being to learn
I just might...if my health wasn't deteriorating so much that's just putting me in panic mode until after midnight where I feel that I can be alone and relax for a few hours. I know it's my fault, but I'm starting to get unhealthily mad at my parents for not forcing me to do more. I don't know what's happened from when I was 18 to now. It's all just a blur, I can't make sense of any of it. Thanks for reading my blog.
I'm going to add to this user that if you want to get into QA Testing, try to learn coding on the side.

Are you actually eating as cheap as you can? Oatmeal, rice, potatoes, beef mince, eggs, vegetables, all that good shit. You might think you're eating cheap but you should look into how much you spend each day, and look into meal prepping for a few days.

>gets randomly hired at a videogame company with zero videogame background
yeah ok faggot not everyone is running a LCK build with hollow infusion
>I think he was specifying that situation and not exactly how it applied to Miyazaki specifically
The post he was replying to was quoting OP (NEET until he was 24) who was talking about Miyazaki specifically. The post you replied to not only quoted the same line but mentioned Miyazaki's degree path, social science.
I think you had yourself a brain fart user.
he literally did, from is the only one that hired him
I... I think we're spirit brothers. I just drifted through my education all the way through university, passable grades with no effort, and now working the least amount possible so I can play more vidya.
The urge to leave some kind of mark on the world is getting stronger, though.
>tfw almost 25
happy birthday ;^)
I think its slowly getting more important but only highly prolific game or book authors are wanted at the moment.
Rhianna Pratchett's being called in for Tomb Raider games, (she would co-write and eventually write her dads books for him as his Alzheimer's set in), and Chris Avellone is always in high demand.
>They're trying to help you if anything by telling you to prepare for disappointment.
if youre blind and think saying "haha its probably bad" is some epic advice from life seeing boomers and not seething clowns desperate for someone else to fail
the reason it has been edited and revised so much is exactly because I have zero delusions about the quality control
are you actually retarded enough to care about punctuation on Yea Forums? yikes, I mean I guess this is where I start pretending because my le punctuation on posts that will disappear in 10 minutes is an effort well spent
Actual publisher or self-publishing? If actual publisher, what's your secret? I've been killing myself over trying to contact both agents and publishers directly and each rejection is tearing me apart.
>anons want to be wagecucks
I am just over here enjoying my NEET bucks and tendies.
well, someone had to say "yep make it like this" and "yep this is based"
I have no future...
Writing in a literate manner is simple.
Writing well is difficult.
Also, his example isn't false equivalence:
You can express a complex idea drawing very simply.
Avellone has also been in the industry for over twenty years and initially worked as a designer. Rhianna also worked as a games journalist back when the industry was small enough for them to be taken seriously and not the walking standup routine they are today.
Getting into the industry as a writer was possible years ago, not so much anymore. Your best bet to becoming a game writer now is through connections, nepotism, or doing shit monkey jobs like programming and Q&A and eventually worming your way into that position.

Life's gonna hit ya hard kid. You need more eyes on your work because you don't know everything yourself for quality control aka editing
>Rhianna Pratchett
Is a complete non-entity, only reason anyone who hasn't fucked her can even recall her name is because of her father, whose talent she inherited none of, and her last and only passable work so far is fucking Overlord like 15 fucking years ago
Rhianna Pratchett is not something you bring up to talk about how good writing games have. She epitomizes the opposite.
I am going to laugh when that goes away someday and this entire website goes on meltdown mode. Nothing lasts forever.
I'm certain he was saying that the path Miyazaki took doesn't lead to being a NEET, not that Miyazaki himself was a NEET.
Same, and I turn 27 soon too. I have this grand plan for a series of video games, I just need to start working. Any day now, I'll start...you'll see.

The world's a lot more complicated when your only two priorities move past "collect enough bamboo shoots to buy this week's witch doctor potion" and "avoid local gangs."
I agree with the average literacy level being above the average drawing level, but you're saying writing is not a skill because of that. If things were reversed and everyone could draw at a semi-competent level, I wouldn't say drawing isn't a skill, because it's pigheaded to think you don't need expert level artists if everyone could draw at a level above deviantart shit. Not everyone is Hemingway just because they can read and write well.
Not surprised. I'd divorce a faggot 4channer like you.
What does any of that have to do with white people?
You know what they probably think that you would make a good friend and are probably good looking. These social cues mean more than what you think.
>>married twice in 8 years

that's where you fucked up
All this post tells me is that you're too much of a moron to draw even simple stick figures.
Don't even consider working in game dev, just do it as a hobby. You won't hate it and you'll actually get to use your own ideas
Don't make me even sadder than I already am.
what will you say when the book comes out? where should I start publicly mocking people like you once its out?
I think the problem we have is being intelligent but not talented or particularly driven in a field. It is a unique kind of suffering.
I have books on writing, books on art and animation. I have a guitar I sometimes casually play around on. I'm proficient in tech and have like a mini home entertainment centre in my room. I know all kinds of things about games and have played hundreds if not about a thousand different videogames by now. Old and new, handheld, console and PC. I'm not picky.
Its like I've waited all my life for a push, or some sort of inspiration and I've desperately looked for it. I'm a real seeker of things. Im in a room full of dynamite but nothing has lit the spark.
And I just don't know what's missing.
>a country where college "professors" push their political agendas and the idea that there are more than two genders being superior to any other country
Shits rigged, bud. We here in America don't produce real educated people.
Drawing and composition are objectively the hardest disciplines, which is why painting and music have always been the most highly respected and paying artforms
it's an elusive kind of tomorrow
It's not too late but make sure that when you go to college, you actually go for shit that you actually want and are passionate for. I realized when I'm at my 3rd year that I have a passion for vet stuff.
I'm already 26, too late for me.
I'm a miserable fuck and I'm doing a shit job trying not to be one

Thanks for paying for my PhD, gringo.
You bastard. I didn't come here to feel understood.
>the reason it has been edited
You just said you don't have an editor.
Painting doesn't pay much like it used to. It's super oversaturated with Asians that took private art lessons since they were kids. Painting is super ridiculously insanely hard though. I have a masters in fine art and work in vidya but Holy fuck it took 20 years building skills to do this at the lowest level of commercial art
I kinda agree with what your saying.
Planescape wouldn't work as a book or a vn at all. It's mechanics (your ability to move freely and interact freely with the world and characters) plays a large role in how enjoyable this game can be. But I still don't think the game would work without the strong writing that compels you to explore and interact.
Unlike megaman or metroid or all those games you listed, no one would give Planescape any praise if the game revolved around completing combat challenges after combat challenges. It's just not strong in that department.
>How many % of (good) games mostly work because of the writing?
Probably not many desu but I do think Planescape is definitely one of them.
To become 30 with no work experience? Yeah. Take it easy, you'll get there before you know it. No need to worry.
I don't know dude. I mean what are you supposed to work with if you've got social anxiety yet no skills in anything tech-related and no athletic attributes. I imagine I'll keep dragging this on until my parents kick me out and then if I don't kill myself I'll at best end up moving boxes maybe or drink every day to stand being in retail or something.
Basic literacy is one thing. Writing well is another. What separates the average Yea Forums post and Grapes of Wrath is how much you are able to express complex thoughts. Think of Deviantart as the equivalent of Amazon's self-publishing section, it's only the minimum level of entry to say, you enjoy doing that. But expressing ourselves is one of the hardest things people can do. It's why two friends might have a fallout, just because they aren't expressing themselves well.
Plus it's retarded to set one art form over another.
>And I just don't know what's missing.
Discipline. I'm feeling the exact same thing as you, but that's what we're missing. We don't have that drive to get started ourselves, we're waiting for something to move us forward like some kind of magic spell or "destiny" but the reality is we're too lazy to go out and try something new because in the back of our minds we know it's going to be a lot of work and that's intimidating us.
It's so easy to say "just get started" but it really isn't that simple to do it. The reality is, though, we are never going to get anywhere just waiting for something to happen.
>teachers told me to learn computer science or english
>took music instead

i wont post it here but name very related as the words directly appear on all future and current translations of the book

sorry, I forgot that not all writers are disciplined and aware enough to self edit effectively
It's just a fct, man. Writers made nothing during the Renaissance while artists and composers joined the upper ranks of society. Writers are the lowest paid position in any creative project. Writing is oversaturated and only 1/100000 will even get published. Famous writers and programmers get a pittance on Patreon while generic smut artists make six figures a month.
There won't be any jobs in retail soon. You better start learning how to do something.
Nobody is saying Miyazaki himself was a NEET except for OP's dumb ass. Nothing personal but is English your second language or something?
Different user but I'm exaclty the same, only difference seems to be that I've actually gone and tried all that stuff. My issues was being rejected every time. Written a book? Rejected by publishers. Made music? Don't even put it online. Made paintings? In the corner gathering dust.
>Im in a room full of dynamite but nothing has lit the spark.

There's never too much of anything. That's just a line used by insecure people who know they will be replaced if someone more competent comes along.
Forget worrying about grammar, grammar is an easy fix. I'm not him, I'm the guy that's been giving you actual advice about seeking out a proper proof-read, editor, and beta-readers. You can't effectively edit your own material, and I'm going to tell you why:
1. You're so close to your project that you can't see where the fat has to be trimmed.
2. You're so close to your project that you can't see that saggy middle.
3. You're so close to your project (and if you're writing any sort of fantasy or sci-fi, this is almost certainly the case) that you don't understand where the stuffy parts of your own world-building head-canon are effectively ruining the pacing.
You're not going to understand psychic distance, consistency, compelling characters. Characters are something younger writers struggle with because they lack world experiences themselves. Even Pynchon's first novel at 23 was trash.
I'm trying to give you good advice because you remind me of a 20-year old me writing his first 250-page novella with no fucking clue what he was doing. The final product wasn't really good, in fact it was bad... even though I had an editor. Ten years later and I'm putting the finishing touches on a real book that is getting good editor feedback.
I've fucked up so many times and been given so many new chances to finish my high school degree that I don't even believe I'll finish it myself. I was about 2/3rds through when I was 19 and everything went to shit, only a third left to finish, but I've not managed to do it. You'd think my parents would have maybe stopped to ask how this is taking so long or give me an angle but it feels like they're so busy getting through the day and their own jobs that they hate that they don't have the energy to stop and help me. Doesn't help that as soon as they do I go autistic rage mode because I have to face how pathetic I am so they probably don't bother helping.
People can appreciate beauty in a painting without understanding it, literature requires more thought, and you know, actually learn how to read.
Personally what drives me nuts about programming in general is that you mostly are dealing with grandma pc support problems still because you always have to rely on someone's shitty API that is partly not documented correctly, partly even has glaring issues like not implemented functions that are in the documentation.
No matter how smart you are, you are still at the mercy of retards you have to rely on and the helplessness to change this fact is infuriating beyond belief. This is why so many choose not to play over enduring it and wading through imo.
get in contact with me outside of Yea Forums and ill translate a random chapter of it for you
you'll still always be a brown manlet, for every single day of the rest of your life.
I don't want to read your novel user, I'm just trying to give you good advice.

Have you maxed out your education broskis?
Yeah man, I'm constantly listening to new music, reading new books, playing new games. I'm thirsty for meaning, but nothing grabs me. Nothing inspires passion. I wonder if people really do just, like... Listen to a piece of music and their brain fires up and they think "yes, this is what I want to do, I must pursue this"
I think it's that lack of solid interest in anything that makes it so hard to start anything. If my hearts not in it, what's the point?
>its garbage, it cant be good, you dont understand characters and you...
>ill let you judge properly
>umm nope
who would have guessed, as I said, youll regret your words and deeds
>tfw learned C programming
>get paid like shit
>switch over to industrial PLC programming
>get paid $100/hour
If you don't have a passion for programming seriously consider switching over to PLCs. It is ten times easier than normal programming and pays amazing.
totes, brah
when I went in for my test I got, like, a 10 on my education level
I think I'm going to attempt a game jam with game maker. There's a two button one coming up. Prize is like 5 dollars and its only for a week but I'm actually taking a career break and since the job hunt went poorly (well not poorly just didn't get a job because I'm "overqualified" and spent hours going to two separate bleeding interviews for it, one being a mock work day), I feel like I should do something for me for once.
I got an idea for either a game where one button rotates and the other propels you, or a sort of punchout-lite where each punch is a fist or side to dodge and the fight goes through rhythmic attack and defence phases. Attack phase you can double tap a button to store power and when you store enough and survive the defence phase without getting hit too much you can unleash it by pressing both buttons and you unleash a flurry of punches.
Depends on the musical theme that gets released for inspiration. If its something serious I might just do the latter idea anyway but theme it in a tongue in cheek way. Like if its a sad scene of music, i'll make it so you have to box your way out of a funeral or something.
>most of the people itt are younger than me and I'm turning 28
Shit. I don't like this feeling. I feel like I'll outgrow Yea Forums and Yea Forums soon.
I just unfriended everyone who wasn't close on the day I graduated. pretty cathartic at the time but I'm dreading when an employer sees my facebook account has a tiny amount of friends >50 friends

How over is it
Sounds like you're the retard in this scenario, user.
just fuck about with the dodge and burn tools until it looks okay
Listen to what the user is telling you. Maybe you really are good, that's great, but every young author thinks the same, that they're the exception to the established process. Even the great current writers still work with editors. Believe me when I say, it's better to at least consider what the user is telling you then to keep on believing you're undeniably right. Hopefully you never go through this but if you put your heart and soul into this book and you suddenly get told it's shit, that will hit you like a ton of bricks.
What software do you mostly use at work?
My birthday too. Happy Birthday homies
>american
They literally buy out foreigners. That's why every high paying job is filled to the brim with nips, chinks, pajeets and russkies.
Quit being such a fag. He already said he's Finnish. You're not going to get through to an autist, so stop dragging your junk across the ground.
Yeah I’m not terrible at those things, but I spend most of my time grinding figures so I barely ever practice tonal stuff. I just need to actually sit down and make a finished piece once in a while I think
My true biggest flaw is probably faces, I always place the eyes on too early
Post a paragraph or two here so we can all read it. If it's really as good as you seem to think then you needn't be insecure about your writing. Also, the first letter of a sentence is capitalized.
>college class
>professor comes in with the syllabus, tells what everyone needs
>you have to buy his book that he made at his website and it has to be new because he requires you to get a access key or some shit to login to some fucking site you'll use like once or twice
>no, student loans/welfare programs will not work to buy it haha, but it's only $250, surely you can afford that
There is a special place for these professors in hell.
user, I'd said I'll read it.
Do you have something in English?
make lots of observational paintings until you get it
also make sure that your brain gets juicy while you're exercising
>If my hearts not in it, what's the point?
How can you heart possibly be in anything if you aren't good at it? Because you need to develop that skill first so you can properly express your passion. Nobody put their soul into fingerpainting as a kid, they just did it because it was fun. It's the same thing with a lot of creative fields (I'm assuming you're looking into pursuing one here) for people who start "late".
For instance, I always wrote as a kid because I couldn't draw. Every time I drew, it just came out as shitty scribbles, so I got fed up with it and never tried again, and instead I used writing as a replacement. I found it a lot easier, and my mom was a writer so she gave me a lot of tips. I decided to develop my skill as a writer, studying rules and taking advice from people better than me. Because of this I never tried to draw again even though in the back of my mind all I ever wanted to be was an artist. I got envious and really jealous of people who could draw.
One day though, out of pent up frustration, I decided to just start drawing. I hadn't drawn in maybe a decade. At first it was dumb scribbles, but after following a few tutorials and applying what I learned from them, I was able to draw a perfectly shaded sphere in a room that made sense geometrically.
I immediately started crying when I realized how many years I wasted, but then I felt happy that it wasn't some unobtainable skill only people with talent get from birth. It's just something I needed to practice and study. It's the same with any skill, but starting it can be fucking hard for a lot of people.
Basically? Just accept it's going to suck at first, and just do the work. Eventually, you won't view it as work anymore.
bullshit
Giuseppe Verdi was pandered by his parents in music lessons ONLY because he showed interest for music and he went on to become one of the greatest composers of all time, if parents paid more attention to their children's interests they would grow better.
I used to draw all the time as a kid, instead of encouraging me my parents told me it was a waste of time and that art school makes you gay, I believed them and studied fucking science and now I fap to trap doujins so as you can see shit doesn't exactly go well when you listen to whatever others tells you.
fuck it fine

Siemans Step 7 and Codesys. Both are pretty simple. Often times the hardest part is troubleshooting physical errors like loose wires or faulty machine parts.
>tfw competent at video editing
>tfw want to work in the insustry
Is there even any area where video editing is valuable within the video game industry? I love editing shit, since my autism actually comes in handy, but i don't even know if there's any need for editors.
maybe for trailers and shit, there's probably some position in a graphical department
based
>can program and do art
>no ideas
I'm 23 and set to release my first game this year. However, despite all the skills I've learned I've spent the last 5 years of my life being an autistic shut-in with no life experience and I'd trade it all to be a burger flipping normalfag if I could.
You're all still incredibly young, and even if you consider yourself an "adult"; there's nothing stopping you from getting out there, and learning a new skill, or following your dreams except your own fear, and lack of motivation.
metro.co.uk
I totally agree with this, 20 year olds still might as well be children.
I can definitely see it for trailer work or demoing projects to investors.
The Japanese game industry is a bit different than the West's. For one, the Japanese gaming industry isn't a nepotist shithole that will reject you if you aren't black or a woman.
>get access key
>perform a chargeback
>get everyone in class to do this so he gets blacklisted from his payment processor
>getting good makes passion
nah, i liked programming before i made a career in it. The only thing i developed is a good amount of hate for various companies you have to rely on. Microsoft for example failed to meet 10year old standards and you have to do extra shit just because of them.
there's always editing marketing material for a publisher, or doing editing for a journalism site
Making a career out of your hobby does not equal passion. If anything, it will just make you despise it.
If there was such a thing as a "fun" career then all the positions would be taken instantly. Work isn't meant to be fun. It's meant to keep you subservient. I'd rather spend my last days on earth doing something comfortable that makes me happy.
Yeah, but I really don't want to see another person go through what I did. The best I can do is warn him.
I'm 28 and majored in journalism. I'm a NEET now, lol. Multiple professors during my last semester asked when I was going to do an internship. I told them I didn't want to be a journalist. They asked why did I bother majoring in journalism and why did I bother getting straight A's. I had no answer. I still don't. I graduated with a 3.85 GPA and have zero direction in life.
>but every young author thinks the same

the process where in finland every publisher says "send us a full manuscript with X spacing"?
>Even the great current writers still work with editors
that their publisher pays for
>and you suddenly get told it's shit,
fundamentally impossible when its built with pure mechanical execution over any amateurish sense of "style" or wacky wank prose full of "deep" thoughts
if anything, its probably written let alone constructed far better than the vast majority of literature out there because it resembles a screenplay or a play far more than some autistic childs meandering diary
youre fucking retarded if you think id actually put a paragraph of my book on Yea Forums for some mouthbreather to grade
theres a gay porn I whipped up in 2 hours, feel free to buy and read itamazon.com
and no, thats not my real name. Tonally its still quite similar to my real work so there you go
Then again I might do the vampire jam in a couple of days. I just had a stupidly simple but fun game idea: Sundae Vampire.
A game about a Vampire that must consume icecream on a beach to survive in the middle of summer. So as the vampire you have to sneak through levels, avoiding the sun, collecting and using suncream, sneaking up to children and adults to consume their frozen dairy goods, using melting popsicles as traps and bags of chips to attract seagulls of distraction people and get past them.
Why is the vampire there? Nobody knows. Why does he need icecream? Nobody knows.
All we do know is that he looks good in shades.
why don't you try be a journalist until you figure out something
it will reject you if you're not Japanese
Maybe this sounds like terrible advice but you have to push yourself through it. I think Stephen King forces himself to write at least 3 pages a day, even if they're complete garbage. The basic idea is that once you get the ball rolling, something will come out of it. The biggest issue is not starting at all.
Which is where I currently am so I get where you're coming from.
Same but 26. Pretty comfy.
Other hand all the fuckups that cause extra work is exactly what keeps you employed. You could easily fire at least 1/3 if things weren't as broken as they are.
I'm 29 and still live off food stamps and general relief (cash aid $221 a month). I still don't have a fucking job because fuck society and fuck slavery.
Good. As it fucking should be.

I really wish I could report fuckers like you to the government. What have you done to deserve living off of my welfare?
Based and NEET pilled, it's actually pretty cringy how many anons want to be wageys ITT.
how do you buy beer, weed, netflix, internet, etc...
i buy anything i want
The state of journalism is absolute shit, but yeah maybe I should. My articles for the university's paper were constantly on the front page. I'm not trying to gloat. I'm trying to explain that I was good at something and despised it at the same time.
Kinda wish trade schools were advertised more in schools. Not every kid is suited to go to college and will have a good time there and might prefer just going to a trade school.
I work as a web dev and didn't go to college. I'm pretty happy where I am, though I kinda suck at doing more advanced things with data structures but I'm learning. The people that are working with me and are teaching me have been nothing but helpful and patient with me.
To be fair art school does seem to be a waste, my favorite artist recently graduated from one and came out worse than before. He also got himself a gf who I'm 51% sure is a dude and who shits up his art blog with posts about veganism and how nobody ate meat before the 1970s.
Is this from Joseph Anderson LOOOOOL
You are fucking lying...
if your situation is really desperate, try to learn programming, it's probably the best for socially stunted people like me
of course social interaction is always important but at least it's not HR or something
I know people with useless degrees who learned programming while doing part time work and then successfully landed in IT company
Yea Forums motivational threads are nice. I'm glad to hear many of you are succeeding, and following what you want to do.
A weak mind does that to you, not the actual assignments themselves. People who are susceptible to brainwashing will get brainwashed.
We are being played. This fucking CAN'T be it.

are you fucking retarded/ incapable of following a reply chain?

This a Doomer shitposting thread where everyone masturbates to self fulfilling prophecies about failure
I am, but I genuinely believe the person making all these posts didn't write this.
Thanks user. Just gotta find something that feels right and try my best to git gud.
We can do it, man. Probably.
Work on it for a bit, make a bit of money, use the spare time for something you enjoy. As unfortunate as it is, I think it's a mistake to fall for the "do what you love for a living" meme. Most of the world works on the basis that a job is just a job, it's just something to keep yourself alive while using the free time to be with friends/family/gf, or just work on what you actually enjoy.
And yet they’re still irrelevant in everything besides video games lmao
Yeah but he has like, a brain... and at least some talent. What's left for the rest of us?
clearly you cant or youre just the epic redditor samefagging his hilarious bait

Are you literally retarded or have you just been here for a month?
Honestly every degree is a meme degree on Yea Forums.
?
It's terrible.
It's so bad I genuinely don't believe it was the person I was talking to. It's also only like a hundred words and it's space marine fanfic shit.

I was advised by all my law friends that Criminology is a working degree and something I should aim for. I also plan on attending Law School and once done with that just joining the Air Force as an officer.
It'll always feel that way I think. Just keep practicing and you'll feel you'll get a better grasp over time. I'm still a shitter myself but I'm a lot better than I was a few months ago.
Just a tip when you encounter whiteboard problems, the point is often to see how attempt to solve the problem rather than if you actually solve the problem (unless it's some basic shit like fizzbuzz). I've gotten my job without solving the whiteboard problem because I explained how I approached it and asked for help on parts I was confused about.
Also be sure to send a thank you email with your contact information after the interview, even if you don't get the job. It's just common courtesy and keeps you in the interviewer's mind in case whoever they do hire that isn't you doesn't pan out and they can come and offer you a job.
It couldn't possibly be on the some level as The Desperate Completely Totally 'straight' Diaper Boy, which is apparently a book by Finland's answer to Joyce has written.
>hurr what is a draft
stay jealous fag
Criminal justice is fine if you pair it with something else. Otherwise law enforcement prefers IT or CS degrees these days but yea ur fine
John Stalvern waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were demons in the base. He didn't see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Cernel Joson were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
John was a space marine for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the spaceships and he said to dad "I want to be on the ships daddy."
Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY DEMONS"
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the space station base of the UAC he knew there were demons.
"This is Joson" the radio crackered. "You must fight the demons!"
So John gotted his palsma rifle and blew up the wall.
"HE GOING TO KILL US" said the demons
"I will shoot at him" said the cyberdemon and he fired the rocket missiles. John plasmaed at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
"No! I must kill the demons" he shouted
The radio said "No, John. You are the demons"
And then John was a zombie.

Made me chuckle/10
I turned 25 think year and I got accepted into a uni. There's still how, user.
You said you'd translate a chapter, and now you want me to buy some shitty self-published porn that nobody has ever read.
Are you some sort of fucking retarded person?

Why the fuck would anyone want this
everyone does
He's Finnish so yes. Their standards are low
the funny part is that I never claimed anything ive made was good, its everyone else desperately screaming "it must be shit" the second I said im writing a book
What kind of novel is it user? Is it good?
>You could easily fire at least 1/3 if things weren't as broken as they are.
OR you could increase output on the same budget. Lazy fucking suits might not see it that way.

Right, because fun is objective
>Nobody is saying Miyazaki himself was a NEET except for OP's dumb ass.
So you agree with me? Cool.
apology for poor english
when were you when john dies?
i was sat at home eating smegma butter when dad ring
‘john is kill’
‘no’
and you??
>Are you some sort of fucking retarded person?
you must be if you actually think I was going to TRANSLATE a CHAPTER of a book for a Yea Forums thread and then link it here for everyone
Because everyone wants to be the idea guy and nobody sees the years of work those people put in trying to figure out why putting on X shoes kills Y NPC.
Nah, I'd take 24 - 26. My credit sucked but that's when I was building it and when I was the most active. Now I have depression or some retarded shit.
I spent 6 years dicking around in college and I barely have an associates, I'll be going back to work on my bachelors this summer.
Yes, we agree that Miyazaki was not
>a NEET until he was 24
although one wonders why you made that post explaining NEET to anyone but OP.
