It is.
For some reason I always go toward hardest difficulty in h'n's games because otherwise difficulty will drop to nothing in couple of minutes.
I am not far in the game but I die almost exclusively to entirely new enemies and bosses.
I chose to play it on ps2 because remasters often have slightly different atmosphere and I like my ps2 and ps2 has many forgotten gems.

Castlevania Mirror of Fate is really nice, but kinda short tho
