What have you got up to with the split screen at home alone anons?

I don't have anyone to split screen with. 2 player looks way easier though. One player can aggro while the other drinks pots or whatever.

Beat the game already been waiting years for it meets my expections it does need fast travel im sick or that fucking swamp and desert

solo split player

wait this game has couch coop?
i'm buying it now

>Not long started
>Have 3 places I can go to already
>Scrapped up some silver to buy a better backpack
>Will buy some other supplies and set off
Here I go Yea Forums. Adventure awaits.

But I don't like the combat so far so we'll see how long I play.

outward is fucking garbage dogshit, literally worse than any unity tech demo

the absolute state of Yea Forumsermin brains

>make my way to the mountain to become a wizard
>on my way back to town get knocked out
>wake up as a mining slave everything gone i bought
>try to flee and jump in a hole
>get to a beach
>bandits knock me out again and drag me back into the mine
>start a fight get knocked out
>some demondude saves me and i wake up in his crib
>have nothing left but demondude gives me a platearmor and a sword
fun

So what do you get for joining a faction? Does it just advance the story or are there some skills/equipment unique to each one? I assume joining one locks you out of the others.

>start game yesterday
>barely scraping buy
>lost my house
>keep getting pummeled into the ground by everyone and their mother
>get to swamp city
>stop playing

>start a new character today
>actually utilize the resources I'm given
>avoid getting into melee as long as I can, mostly use it to finish enemy off
>set up traps when not sure I can take something
>use potions, foods and powerups

Actually enjoying the game now, the whole point is not to rush into a fight and to do everything you can to prevent getting hit. Going pure melee like I did last time is a huge mistake(unless you use spears), you trade blows and eventually lose the battle of attrition because you won't be fighting only those 2 enemies that day. Also is the blue sand/powder armour good? I got like 700 silver and it's now even snow yet, but I don't wanna waste money on something I'll change quickly

Attached: Outward 2019-03-29 22-53-48-19.png (1920x1080, 3.13M)

>Wander around a bit
>Get into some more fights with animals an find some chests with stuff in them
>Quickly lost interest and uninstalled it
Nah, I'm done. I like survival and taking my time but I just don't like this at all.

I killed that dude the same way. I put 8 fucking traps, took almost all of his health and left him crippled. Then comboed his ass with my axe. I'm liking his GS

I wasn't sure about the greatsword because I only got execution skill and it's twohand axe exclusive and stat wise it's similar with my current axe. But it sold for nice amount of money, steel shield I found there also sold for like 50 silver

There's a parry skill for the GS. You can get it from the dude at the entrance of Cierzo. Also, if you didn't already, I suggest you craft the axe that bleeds enemies.

you dont need to join a faction to get the skills/equiptment i think.
But they favours the faction stuff in the sense of:
>everything is in the faction hub
>You can buy a house when you join the faction
>The faction quest (the majority of them i think) are in the faction region.
>some quest guide you to craft faction items.

You are limited in the sense that you have 3 chain points.
So you can specialize in 3 skills trees.

Its good , dont worry about money making. You can farm blue sand.
Also you need good armor and weapons to take on better enemies that drop better armors and better weapons

Reminder that the real strength of sigils is that you can stack them on top of each other other to cast multiple spells at a time.

Who bought and who pirated it? Is it worth its price?

>encounter these lightning-infused monsters
>one type has a fucking lightning cannon
>can't loot it

Attached: 1364932176703.png (582x600, 235K)

I think it depends on the person. I think it's worth it but it's far from being game for everyone.

>tfw want to play it online/support the devs but its 40€

Attached: 1521343579373.png (709x765, 247K)

Do you ever get more Breakthrough Points?

how the FUCK are you supposed to win against two bandits with fast swinging swords when they fucking stun lock you and rape you in 3 seconds!!!?!

Attached: 1269187623952.png (569x571, 46K)

>Traps
>Ranged Weapons
>Magic
>Using a longer reach weapon
>Poisoning or burning them and kiting
>Luring them into fighting wildlife or monsters
et cetera

Plan ahead, set up traps/sigils. Don't think you're supposed to win head on unless you're well equipped

Pirated it, love the game but 40€ is out of my price range at the moment. Gonna buy it eventually though. Price is a bit steep in my opinion.

I enjoy the exploration part of this game, pirated and using a trainer to avoid dealing with the shitty survival.

>using a trainer to avoid dealing with the shitty survival.

yeah because drinking/eating once a fucking day and wearing appropriate clothing is mind-crushingly difficult.

Attached: tray guy.png (406x476, 242K)

How's the exploration compared to Dishonored/Prey2017/Soulsborne/Ubisoft/BotW?
Do you actually find interesting things or is it just a few resources sprinkled all over?

If you treat it as adventuring sim it's pretty good, I dunno about the story so far but exploration and resource management are the main things about the game and both are pretty good. It reminds me a bit of Kenshi

Only thing I don't like is that the world looks a bit cartoonish even though the game has dark vibes, and that there are no friendly NPCs in the overworld that I've seen yet

Most of the interesting stuff is relegated to dungeons, any of the major stuff is huge and can be seen from a distance. The open world itself is sparse with enemies and occasionally some loot strewn about.

no. lot of salt crystals everywhere to mine because why wouldn't you carry a pick to get less of the same thing you get from boiling water at home

>Get chakram in first town
>gotta have chakram skills to use
>can't get them in first town
>finally get skills
>need mana to use
>need a buff from a completely different skill tree to use(at least the dude is a couple steps away)
>can't main hand the chakram
>range/cooldown/damage are meh
I can only assume trying to go dagger is just as bad.

I killed them easy with a pitchfork/fishing spear. But it's even easier when you get a bow, just shoot one guy a few times and finish him off with melee. You'll learn your chosen weapon's quirks sooner or later and then you can enjoy melee by chaining combos and using skills(when you get them)

At the beginning it's not a bad idea to go for a high damage big weapon like two handed axe/sword or spear. You don't need shields at all

I've heard decent things about daggers. Seem like they'd be useless without the skills for them though.

Nope, only 3 for the whole game.

Some shit dagger I found has the same damage as a two hander. I dunno if they're good since you need dagger skill though, but some NPC mentions you can do stealth kills with the appropriate dagger skill

Is the skidrow/codex torrent safe?

don't know I got the RELOADED version

I guess I'll just try a bow/rogue/trap character and ignore magic for my next character.

Daggers are the best melee weapons in the game

>Beat the game
how long did it take you?

user you don't need to ignore ANYTHING. You can be a bow/trapper then you can go full on fighter and then you can go mage. Or you can actually be a battlemage trapper. How I see it, you're only constrained by breakthrough points and silver to spend on skills. I'm not far enough in the game but I guess silver becomes a non-problem later on.

Other than that you can and SHOULD use everything at your disposal and you should dabble in alchemy even as a pure fighter. Probably nothing wrong only sacrificing 10 health/stamina to get 40 mana so you can enchant some weapons as a fighter too

Do items dropped by the player persist forever in the game world? I was thinking about creating rest stops with campfires, tents, and supplies so I can travel lighter.

Yeah been playing it for awhile, feels like combat is balance for 2 players in my opinion.

>unity
Yea Forums will never learn

>keep dying from these tanky faggots
>use ethereal jar enchanment that are littered through this place
>kill him in 5 hits

Attached: Outward 2019-03-30 00-37-21-81.png (1920x1080, 1.61M)

Can you sneak around and nigger people's stuff?
Can you scout out traps and shit in Dungeons, pick locks and set your own traps for creepy crawlies?

I wanna motherfucking party based co op game where I can be a dickass thief, my brainlet actionbro mate can whack shit, and my autist mate can be a crafting, brewing, alchemying wizard.

And Steve can be the healer.

Why are there no four man party based games? Seems like such a simple conceit. (if they gave the warrior class type a lot of interesting combat styles) and made basically co op dragon's dogma, but with this game's crafting. And some stealing etc.

>items sell for 20% more in Levant
The Jew in me dies a little every time I sell items somewhere else.

>you trade blows and eventually lose the battle of attrition
This, it's so easy and night impossible to avoid trading blows most of the time, but everyone else has way more hp than you and healing actions take up to much time mid combat for them to be "safe".
I want to unlock magic so i can stop meleeing entirely.

It's Fun with Friends

Yeah, ghosts tank physical damage but ethereal damage tears them a new asshole.

It's crazy how much lighter gold bars are compared to silver coins.

You cheese them, the way enemies work in this game they are very likely to just frenzy all over you and kill you, while you're stuck in an attack animation, fuck even if you watch and wait you're going to end up trading blows most of the time with most enemies. unless you use a spear this is i think most due to the free hitstun immunity or poise everyone gets. so even if you wait for an enemy to whiff an attack if he decides and sometimes they often do, to swing at you and he sees you are in front of him even if you hit him first, he'll still attack and fug you. To really play this game like you'd expect others you need a high impact weapon and to hope the fuck you are fighting has low impact resistance because that's the only way to get hitstun off, problem is it only really comes into effect when their posture bar (small white bar below hp) is around half, then they get staggered. So when they start to get staggered things are good for you, but if you deplete their bar entirely, they get knocked down and pop right back up with a full posture bar and posture damage immunity for a couple seconds. so basically it's almost never worth knocking them down because you lose hitstun on them and always better to just keep knocking them out of attacks.

tl:dr.
Melee is kind of janky, use magic, traps, skills, bows and whatever because you are at a huge disadvantage. enemies rarely leave themselves open for retaliation in close combat, maybe a fast weapon would be ideal for trying to get quick stabs but i've yet to see one.

How?

Seems like it, I put two campfires with a cooking pot and alchemy station in front of the lighthouse and it's still there.
I think caves and instances reset though, because a bandit camp i cleared out at the start of the game was back and all the stuff on the ground in there was obviously gone as well.
Actually it's sort of fucking irritating how long shit sticks around, i can't get rid of food waste, quarterstaffs or plank shields because no npc will buy them and they don't despawn in town.

Going to go back when i get ether resistance gear and fuck all those ghosts up.
youtube.com/watch?v=0tdyU_gW6WE

>Can you sneak around and nigger people's stuff?
I don't think so, I went around taking everything but no one ever batted an eyelid, you can sneak but it doesn't seem like there's a bounty or crime system.
>Can you scout out traps and shit in Dungeons, pick locks and set your own traps for creepy crawlies?
I've never encountered a locked chest or a lock pick, dungeons do have traps though like pressure plates and spikes from what i've seen, that enemies can also trigger. You can set your own traps.
>Why are there no four man party based games?
devs are too busy making looter shooters for easy $$ i guess, it's a shame.

idk why nvidia shadowplay doesnt support this game.
the graphics look washed out and bad despite being on ultra settings at 4k.
the models look ugly .
the world looks empty , the bandit camp not far from the first town have 4 bandits , 1 dog , 1 mage and 1 spear boss type .
idk why the first 2 issues , but ill keep plying it

Post your character.
Also,
>crawl and roll my way across the map
>refuse to drop any of my loot
>having to stop every couple minutes to get wood for a campfire cause faggot snow
>finally make it all the way across the map from ghost pass
>town is destroyed
>quest complete pops up saying i didn't kill 3 bandit leaders
>never had that quest until that point so had no idea i was supposed to do it
>literally scream with rage after my 40min walk across the map
>throw down my pickaxe so i can at least walk instead of shuffle
>walk all the way across the map back to the swamps repeating what i did before
>30mins later suicide into a fungus dino and teleport into town
>sell all my shit for thousands of coin
Fucking game.

Attached: outward.png (1920x1080, 3.84M)

>the world looks empty
I thought so too until i got to another zone, shits more dense further in. I've yet to see any npcs on the overworld though that's a shame. well asides from a traveling trader that seems to randomly appear

I really wanted to like this game. But the moment I started playing it looked like it was made in somebody's dirty basement in Croatia. Refunded after 1 hr 58min. You can't defend this game,it's shit

Yea that warlord quest is bullshit, because instead of giving you a timer it says something like they plan to attack soon.
wish the game was a bit more overt with it's timed shit.

Is that Palladium armor? It's ugly as shit, will be avoiding.

Melee combat is just centered around the posture bar. You need to reduce it through skills and the like before you commit to real offense since you cannot cancel animations in a dodge or block in this game. If you left at someone point blank and they're not posture broken, then there is a good chance you're getting hit. If you do multiple attacks or a non-max range heavy attack at someone who isn't posture broken, then you're DEFINITELY getting hit. Potentially multiple times.

They really, really, really want you to use skills and magic. If you want to open with left clicks then you need to be using a high impact weapon and be buffed for impact as well.

>a traveling trader that seems to randomly appear

how do you know they're not hostile. after "helping" the first people with a chicken fight, they raped me when I was trying to loot the chicken. now I assume everything is out to kill me.

also what and when do you actually lose your shit? in my first game I wound up in a bandit jail or something and had nothing, then I died immediately and woke up in a different scenerio with my bag on the ground. if you get ganked by banditos do they take your silver? can you lose a weapon? stuff from backpack? stuff from pockets?

I haven't died in a good bit and I don't want to fuck up and lose all my silver because I didn't put it in my stash.

I just want a comfy exploration game to play

>cannot
>cancel
>animations

which would be fine if they weren't 3 full second animations

18 hours for priest faction didint even do the murder mystery questline

> they get knocked down and pop right back up with a full posture bar and posture damage immunity for a couple seconds. so basically it's almost never worth knocking them down
This is very true, but if you go two-handed axe you can kick+heavy attack combo and it's gonna tear their guard down super fast. Then you use execution skill and they're most likely dead or soon to be

Only problem here is you need to use execution fast because they get up quickly, and sometimes the game won't let you use the skill because you're still in a combo

>get dancer set
>stamina regens faster than I can use it due to 40% cost reduction
Neat.

this game is hella comfy, it just looks like piss

Attached: 20190328084434_1.jpg (1920x1200, 504K)

Have you installed the new update from the same people, a lot of people are saying it breaks the game.

Attached: 1439486422301.jpg (341x307, 25K)

Attached: 1539360542559.png (2560x1440, 3.88M)

Now two people can do absolutely nothing

>Coop is invite only

Attached: 1549829632718.jpg (500x500, 57K)

It's not. It's called something like kitkushi armor that you buy in the giant village.

Right, whats the fastest way to get this debt shit outta the way.

It's actually really comfy, it's absolutely mandatory for you to stop every now and then to rest and cook food

Attached: Outward 2019-03-30 01-05-28-63.png (1920x1080, 2.52M)

The back exit to the town storage area leads to a beach. Theres a dude on that beach who got his shit pushed in by the giant laser crabs. Give him a bandage and he gives you a get out of debt free coupon.

How to spot zoomer posters.
>game looks like shit

By playing the game instead of asking what to do 2 minutes in.

Literally walk to the beach and use a bandage on the injured dude.

seriously fuck hyenas, pair walking assholes who will stay out of spear's length for the entirety of existence just so they can bite your dick when you cave and lunge

The Blue Collective is the mage faction, right? Though I've heard their skill trainer, who can teach you how to use runic magic without a skill book, doesn't actually require you to be adopted by Rissa to teach you. Despite his flavo rtext saying otheewise.

9.9/10 times out of 10 they want to rape and rob you, so approach with caution, I investigated him because he was pulling around a cart and there was a reindeer? in front of the cart. So he's not outside in the physical world so much as he's inside his cart. I also recognised his outfit he's the soroberea trader guy, i think he spawns in random locations when you leave and enter the overworld.

>also what and when do you actually lose your shit? in my first game I wound up in a bandit jail or something and had nothing, then I died immediately and woke up in a different scenario with my bag on the ground.
No idea, game likes to save people a lot so outside it breaking i don't think you can lose stuff, well except for that bandit place, when i got captured by them i found mystuff and most of it wasn't in my bag but a chest, i'm surprised you got yours back by dying and teleporting somewhere else i must of died countless times in that prison and kept waking up in the prison.

they bandits in the prison take your silver is so much as they charge you a fee to be released, but i don't think your stuff ever just vanishes into the ether well not usually at least.

but when someone tells you 3 warlords are going to attack a village, stop them or then you'll lose your shit there

tent > bedroll

>oh boy im going on an adventure
>die to hyena
This isnt fun....

You can use any trainer without joining a faction, yes. Also camo tent is best tent.

i extinctified the shit out of the hyenas area and then stole everything from the old jew bitch, along with picking everything up in town and selling what i didn't need
If it weren't for 2 hyenas packs jumping me, id still have my spiffy spear and decent leather attire, along with some 320~ silver

I see that you have a bunch of sigils on your bar. Does spark interact with all of them? or just fire sigil?

Dont die then retard.

>didn't pick up his pack

Attached: 1553710231013.jpg (1600x1600, 196K)

Hyenas might be the hardest mob to fight in the game.
>attack in packs
>do crazy damage
>pull you to a cave surrounded by hyenas
>chase you forever
>actively dodge attacks
>stalk and circle you
>little to no predictable attack patterns
>can Leap, Lung Lung, Lung once then circle and dodge
on top of it all game expects you to fight them with no items, magic or spells and probably a terrible weapon.

>not the luxury tent
poor ass nigga

dont forget they give you aids if you get hit by them

do tents last forever?

Luxury tent is fine, not having to worry about ambushes is much better than the slight stam boost though.

>hyenas
>hard
You're joking right? just set up fucking tripwires.

I think the only hit they do that can give you aids is that long forward lunge.

i dropped it so i could dodge better, but when i came to i was in a bandit camp with 3 armored hyenas and 2 guards wanting my dick, so bailed out. went back to the general area i dropped pack and couldn't find it

Attached: 50.png (500x398, 92K)

How do you guys make money?

Like if I didn't stumble across the dude on the beach for a tribal favor I would be fucked. I'm like a month in and my income is from mostly cooked meals and the occasional azure shrimp if I get lucky fishing.

Oh yes ahaha, fucking leave the village to save the house.
take 2 steps and diseased

From what I've figured out
>Fire Sigil
Spark and Mana Ward
>Air Sigil
Spark, Mana Push, and Conjure
>Frost Sigil
Mana Push and Mana Ward

Seems like it. My plant tent in Levant has lasted over 30 days so far.

Does mana push do a frost bolt or something?
Where can I learn it?

>You're joking right? just set up fucking tripwires.
user did you not read
>on top of it all game expects you to fight them with no items, magic or spells and probably a terrible weapon.
I'm talking about players who walk outside for the first time.

Retard

If you walk outside for the first time without looting the town that literally gives you items to combat them, you might be inept.

Elemental rags, they're easy to farm and have a high weight/value ratio.

It weights more than a bedroll and keeping the weight down is a headache with the nomad bag already

When used by itself, it just does a bunch of impact damage and knocks people back. Usually enough to instantly stagger anything but big enemies. Like a magical, longer ranged version of kick.
With air and frost sigils it shoots a projectile. The air sigil one pierces and the frost sigil one explodes on impact iirc. Don't use frost sigil too often.

Pick up everything in town > debt
Cook and sell everything
Sell everything but pack and main weapon
Repeat

Selling weapons, hide, making and selling greater potions. Mining and getting gems.

I'm calling the town weapons shit, i thought it was pretty easy to read that from what I said.

Also, you get mana push from the hermit at the wind altar in the northeast section of the first area, Cherosne or whatever it's called.

>not constantly selling everything

I killed the two hyenas in the small closed off area when you first start the game, naked with a fishing spear. They have two attacks, the lunge and the one where they get really close and bite you twice and all you have to do to evade is hold A or D.

They aren't shit though. You're shit if you can't use the tools youve been given effectively. I'm playing co op with my friend and not once have we both died at the same time resulting in a death. At most one of us falls over while the other finishes up.

They steal your shit and put it in some chest they have.

You can kill the hyenas in the opening area with a fish gig. My 5 year old killed them with the machete in that area and a plank shield made from garbage. Literally how much can you possibly suck?

What happens when one of you falls over in coop?

Not only do I sell everything, but I stash all linen/scrap in the house chest as well as every potion that I won't use and disassemble almost all armour I come across. I don't bother picking up bandit weapons anymore but still need to dance around 50 capacity. Not to mention I'm also using the merchant clothes for the extra 8

What's the recipe for greater life potion?

Yeah I'm not saying I had trouble fighting them, I'm saying every enemie post hyena is cake walk due to the gear you are given and i can understand why they shit on new people.

They are shit, they're really shit, they're so shit it's better to sell them all and buy a real weapon from the blacksmith but new people probably won't.
>I'm playing co op
so you can cheese all the fights if you feel like good for you.

>call the hyenas hard because new players fight them with no good options in game about options
>Yea Forumsermin read it as hyenas impossible to kill
top level of brainlets here i see.

Time to go back and get my Iron Spear...or should i cut my losses and enjoy my Halberd?

You know armor sells for a good bit right? Instead of turning it into shitty linen and iron scraps you should be selling it.

Tutorial says your friend can just get you back up

I don't know any more details besides the bandits capturing you steal your stuff. I never had it happen to me, but that's my best guess to where your stuff is. If you lost 300+ coins I'd go back for it.

You get downed, then they can pick you up but your max health is set to like 15 until you sleep. it fucks you up hard.

Game is designed for co op, we've rarely been downed. Use the tools the game gives you, stop trying to bruteforce, learn attack patterns. GIT GUD

Grease root? I think thats what its called. And a regular potion. Pop both in the alchemy set. Greater mana potions are a ghost eye and a mana potion.

I've found iron and mana crystals too. Second iron vein I got a medium ruby too.

Is that thing used for crafting at all? The 60 silver is awfully appealing.

Thanks, had figured out stamina and mana but couldn't figure out health potions for the life of me.

>Game is designed for co op, we've rarely been downed. Use the tools the game gives you, stop trying to bruteforce, learn attack patterns. GIT GUD
It is, I hope you are fun, again I get reading comprehension isn't a big thing for you but I'm not having trouble with they hyenas thanks for your concern though.

When you're dirt poor at start sure, but when I have 900 silver I'm not gonna bother with armour that weights 8 and sells for 16 silver. I can just turn it into 3 linen that weights 0.6 and sells for 3 silver and that I can also use for bandages if need be

>communicate so poorly everyone is confused
>we're the retards

Sure okay

>wander outside of town
>find some dying guy next to a rock
>says he got attacked by a shrimp and needs help
>haha bro a shrimp good luck sucker
>walk around the rock
>there's a shrimp easily twice my size
>shoots lightning bolts at me
>wake up in town some time later

I think I'm gonna like this game.

Attached: 1433074612177.jpg (960x960, 37K)

what types of magic are in this?

I've been stashing them inside a hollowed out trunk.

Whats stamina? I havent figured that one out

I pirated it, how do I get coop working non split screen?

>Ambushed by bandits
>Suddenly a dinosaur runs up and starts destroying the bandits
>Suddenly a jade golem runs up and slaughters the dinosaur
Wat

Clean water, krimp nut, and an egg. Stam potion and a krimp nut for a greater.

more like
>mention something about the game that been perceived as criticism of difficulty
>autists are triggered and begin to sperg instead of trying to understand the implication of fighting an enemy with no items, armor or magic.

So it's basically business as usually when dealing with people on the internet

>not permanent beach camping

neat, thanks

but i get a stamina bonus for sleeping in my bed user

>I've never encountered a locked chest
In the foundry ruins if you kill the matron you get a key and the chest is locked behind a gate at the top. Not a locked chest per se but there is nothing else behind the gate.

You're literally a retard.

wait

Where is this warlord quest? It's on a timer in the game world even when you haven't taken the first objective?

hyenas die to two spike traps. Theres no excuse for not being able to kill them. They are mudcrab tier easy.

youtube.com/watch?v=72LKjGErD9o

Chakram does great damage, what are you taking about
Get good user

New players aren't using spike traps, they're way deadlier than mudcrabs.

>new players arent using spike traps
bullshit I killed my first enemy with spike traps. Theres fucking wood at every tree for spikes, and theres tripwires all over for use. You're literally retarded.

You should be picking up steel bandit weapons and shields. They sell for 60 silver a piece, or 72 in Levant. With a trader backpack you can easily make 500 silvers a trip.

what back exit, the town only has one exit that I can figure out.

Ok I've donwloaded and installed the update. Seems to work for me, but I'm not very far in the game, still in the village, maybe it crashes for people further down the line .

Theres a door on the dock under the lighthouse.

>what is an outlier
new players aren't playing the game making tripwires and making wooden spikes to travel the other world and dropping them every 10 steps incase they run into an enemy. If you they they you are probably delusion or autistic possibly both.

I thought you were talking about the hyenas in the boat crash intro but you're talking about after town? You have no excuse at that point. If you walk around town you'll get armor, gear, and items that you can sell to buy some starter stuff. 8 resistance chest armor might not be a lot but it's more than enough for hyenas.
Even without that hyenas aren't really that threatening. You can outrun them as long as you didn't burn all your stamina beforehand and all their attacks will whiff simply by walking circles around them.

Just use Magic bro.
Spark FireandWindSigil/Lightning Ball and Trap Rune Masterrace.

>great coop shenanigans
>95% of anons here are playing alone

Attached: sad.png (600x478, 391K)

Attached: 1550311861549.png (789x750, 18K)

The game literally tells you if you ask around town to plan your fights. Why you wouldnt prepare before engaging an enemy is fucking beyond me. Stop making excuses for incompetency, shitdick.

Yea I just can't convince my friends to spend this much on eurojank, they rather play apex instead.

Are you running around at night without a lantern?

Im not him but you're really grasping for straws now. You can see enemies a mile away, in the dark you can see hyenas easily because their eyes glow. If you can't swearve around them or if you just want to kill them but not sure if you can, you have all the time in the world to set up traps and prepare. The only time where you can't do this is when you enter a dungeon and get jumped by some faggot troglodyte, but so far that only happened to me once.

The game doesn't tell you to make tripwires you need to buy the recipe, game lets you leave the village with a weapon and a waterskin. It's not an excuse for incompetency the average player isn't running around like batman, learn to deal with it.

me and my wife are gonna couch co-op it whenever we can.

If you talk to the traders they give you advice on adventuring you mongoloid.

>how do you know they're not hostile. after "helping" the first people with a chicken fight, they raped me when I was trying to loot the chicken. now I assume everything is out to kill me.

Hah, yeah, my first encounter with them was kind of charming
>Slowly working my way up past killing pearl birds
>Notice a couple dudes walking across the savanna
>Get cautiously excited
>Run up within range of them
>They stop and turn to face me, there's a pregnant pause
>One takes his bow off his back, the other readies his spear
>Burn through half my stamina in a mad dash back to town while being chased

Also, how does anyone function without that pearl bird mask which increases movement speed by 20%?

Why would I be?
They don't have traps you are missing the point or didn't even read the post, also they can literally just walk behind hills or they can chase other creatures towards you, they wander around and move and attack other creatures, they don't just hover in one spot like its world of warcraft.
If you were an npc in this video game, maybe there'd be an autistic npc teaching people how to make tripwires and spikes and saying they should drop them every 5 steps, but thankfully you aren't in the game.

>Also, how does anyone function without that pearl bird mask which increases movement speed by 20%?
How do you get the chicken mask?

>overburdened and slogging my way to town
>ice mage ganks me right outside of Berg
>Gep saves me
>wake up in the middle of the woods
>have no idea where I am
>have to slog around looking for landmarks
Fuck you Gep, and your jizz juice.

You're making excuses for being shit. The game marketed itself on not being handholdy cakewalk. If you cant adapt to the environment dont play the game.

Hyenas in the crash can be equivalent to hyenas in the overworld seeing as you can have exactly the same gear at the time you fight them,
>that you can sell to buy some starter stuff
you can most new players won't probably because they are worried about the lighthouse being taken and want 150 silver.
>Even without that hyenas aren't really that threatening.
I disagree

where do you get the camo tent?

>y doo I haev to reed, me don wanna reeeeeeead! me wan pres button for awsum!

Imagine thinking the fodder basic bitch enemy in this game is too difficult and beyond your skill level.

>dude its cool, I'm a fairy

Run.

Attached: 1553877050796.png (370x270, 12K)

Nah I don't think I am making excuses for being people shit, I think the point of my first post went over your head and now you're just project that I want to make the game easy or i've said the game is hard

You should be able to solve this

Attached: 794260_screenshots_20190329162525_1.jpg (1920x1080, 459K)

Anyone else here beat the light lich? His armor is pretty good for runecasting, that and the light infused lexicon and jade weapon make it so runes cost almost nothing. Really good combo.

>Why would I be?
Because I don't see how else you would could have such a low level of awareness
Where are you finding all these 90iq new players? And I can't even fathom how you can look at horned horrors, immaculates, giants, et cetera and think that hyenas are tough.

Fly, you fool!

Sell everything everything? I've been artistically staging things like hides under the assumption I can craft better things with them. I've also got like 4 of heach tea in my stash.

As for elemental rags, I make poison rags but I have a hard time coming up with extra linen cloth.

You've worded every post youve made incredibly poorly. So its less a matter of going over my head and more you being shit at explaining what you're trying to say.

Tea is valuable for status effects. Sell hide though. You'll always be able to get more.

> low level of awareness
are you hitting on me why are you telling me weird gay jokes?
well i'm finding a lot of 90iq people in this thread and i know you play the game, how far are you in your playthrough?
> think that hyenas are tough.
Read the first post and try to figure out context.

>House Baratheon on the right

Attached: bb.jpg (1280x720, 103K)

Can I play on Potato?

honestly the first thing you should do with hides is upgrade your shitty base equipment if you've not gotten lucky with armor, then sell the rest

Man this game is so fucking good, bought it on a whim. Usually games are either too open and have no story (kenshi) or too much story and on rails (too many games to mention) this one somehow managed to do both.

it's worded fine if you're not a sub-human

Keep telling yourself that.

>early game
>get ganked by some bandits cuz i'm shit and exploring like an idiot
>get saved by some guy called Gep
>except I'm in that top right corner of the map that you have to go through GHOST PASS to get through
>forced to run through GHOST PASS since my shit weapons do nothing against the GHOSTS

Fun times.

I will because it's the case.

Who are the best mage trainers? I've heard with the spell blade dude you can essentially learn how to shoot fireballs and the like by using your enchanted weapon instead of using sigils.

I've also heard there's a hermit who can teach you how to use wind magic and conjuration in the area. Along with a monk who can teach you how to use chakram and their associated spells. On top of the guy who teaches you how to use runic magic without a lexicon. What are the three best trainers?

It's really not. go die to more hyenas.

Never died once to a hyena, the fact you project stuff like this lets me know you can't read.

after getting a couple predator bones I crafted a fang trident out of my spear in town. It makes things bleed.

I'm shit at combat but I can wreck the electric pistol shrimp with that thing.

Im clearly shitting on you for bitching about the easiest enemy in the game besides pearlbirds.

You're flinging shit because you are inept at reading.

Attached: Outward 2019-03-29 09-40-33-42.png (1920x1080, 2.93M)

I'm not inept at reading, youre just shit at conveying your thoughts.

looks like you're reading it its last rites

>Im not!
You are, you missed the point and decided to sperg and gush about traps like the faggot you are.

Why do they call it an Assassin bug

How did you go from near dead, overburdened, and with a chunk of stamina that has to be slept off, to that?

Traps are one of the most important aspects of this game you fucking mongol. Be they physical, elemental, or magical.

>hyenas
>hard
No you're just fucking trash

seriously I saw somebody post this room before so somebody must know what to do by now.
I'm scared the floor is a trapdoor or something but I want that chest.

Attached: Untitled.png (668x749, 376K)

I always carry 3wood for a campfire and my tent at all times.

Yea that's not the point though you faggot, it never was the point.

>See a pack of hyenas descending on some cunt with a warhammer
>FreeLootAhoy.jpg
>Warhammer guy kills one, and while I'm anticipating killing the winner of the fight and looting everything notice that they've all stopped fighting each other
>Suddenly the pack of hyenas and the warhammer dude converge on me

What the fuck? What kind of disney princess, hyena whisperer bullshit is this? Did he gain alpha status of the pack by killing their leader or something?

Fuck.

What's a decent max mana if you're not going full on mage and just wanna dabble in magic a little bit?

.

Attached: why.png (455x451, 59K)

Weighs less to just go ahead and craft the campfire

Your point was that new players arent going to use a basic game mechanic, which is inherently retarded.

i wish she would suck me dry and then wear my corpse

you don't need to buy recipes if you manually make the item. Then you learn the recipe in the process.

Can I make my character a cute gril? Can I make her tall?

>I'm scared the floor is a trapdoor

Attached: It is.jpg (1280x720, 73K)

>cute

go play some Jap game if you want kawaii/moeblop shit, mate

Attached: 1550312376814.png (416x533, 227K)

He killed their leader, fucked his woman, and sang their song, all while you were looting a dead dog

True but I may want to craft a torch for warmth on the go. I like to keep my options open since the weight difference is negligible.

No my point was new players don't have shit. Only thing inherently retarded is you because you seem to not be able to comprehend, how likely it is for someone to get the water skin get the melee weapon and be under prepared, instead you gush about how you are batman and everyone else must be batman as well, you have an unrealistic idea of new players

>none of my friend want to play outward cause it looks jank
>they'd rather play mobile games and battle royale trash
what's it like having friends with similar taste someone tell me.
is this game fun solo, I didn't delve to far into it hoping I could bait someone into playing with me.

This game needs 40 more faces and 10 more styles in hair

I don't mean kawaii/moeblob shit, I find that stuff just as repulsive as anyone else. I just want a normal tall qt. Can you make a female character or not, and can you adjust your height or not?

Does this game support two monitor split screen? I don't want to have to share my screen with someone. Is there some way to make my desktop really tall to make the game do two monitors?

>how likely it is for someone to get the water skin get the melee weapon and be under prepared
Do you honestly think everyone is sub 80IQ and incapable of doing anything whatsoever?

Drops off the pearl birds, oddly enough.

I dont know if its a rare drop but it fell off like the 7th one I killed. I leave it on all the time because the distance between places is just eaten up by the thing. Looks kinda cool too, in a plague doctor sort of way.

Is this fag strong or am I being paranoid?

Attached: Outward 2019-03-30 02-48-31-46.png (1920x1080, 1.91M)

>what's it like having friends with similar taste

Wouldn't know. They're similar to yours

Yeah its fun solo. Going on an adventure alone immerses you more, since you already have the game just go ahead and dive in alone.

I'll give you a hint user, Go the the jail/mine and check the beds

Attached: 456388406.png (225x216, 70K)

he's a strong boy. Might as well consider him a miniboss. Better use fire

Yes, he's strong.

One of the strongest things in the area. Use everything you've got.

Didnt you fags say this game is trash just after release?

>10 more styles in hair

all of which you will never see again past the creation screen and the few nano-seconds inbetween hat changes

Attached: BACK THE FUCK OFF!.png (1225x689, 647K)

>is this game fun solo
Yeah, but feels lonely when you set up a campfire at night during winter and there's nobody with you. Also not a lot of room for mistakes if you go alone, and the game doesn't tell you at all which enemies are weak to what so you need to experiment or assume by what they use or how they look.

I think you should throw down a few more traps actually.

Do you honestly think everyone is sub 80IQ and incapable of doing anything whatsoever?
Unironically yes. More realistically new players aren't doing that because they don't know or simply lack resources more realistically, I don't think leave the village without a bunch of tripwires makes you sub iq, for a lot of people hyenas will be the first thing they fight and they won't have potions, bandages or magically armor or even a good weapon, I think that's a fair scenario for the average player to be in when they encounter a hyena probably two because packs.

>every single person has said in a fucking retard who can't construct a sentence to save my life
>THEY'RE THE RETARDS
nah, it's you, youre fucking stupid.

You need more traps that niggy is strong as fuck, use a frost res position and some anti frost gear you got it, his magic attack can kill you if your low and he does it fast as fuck up close.

hi what is that from

>Unironically yes
Cool. You're a fucking dumbass.

Literally every new game gets called trash on Yea Forums nowadays.

8 iron spike traps will kill it
But i fight these guys solo with my chakram and fang sword constantly

>mention new game once
>roflmao, shit game go back to plebbit shill! cringe, one yike, oof

>Having low expectations of people makes you a dumbass
Nah cunt, I'm just a realist.

>those hips

Attached: 20190329024833_1.jpg (1920x1080, 306K)

I’m a Villainous Daughter, so I’m going to keep the Last Boss
Manga is pretty meh

Right on, I do have the makeshift hide armor so I'll just sell tree other hides I've collected. Been loving the extra pocket space.

How do you guys upgrade your armor by the way? Buy, craft, or find it?

You're not a realist you just have an unchecked ego. Believe it or not people who play eurojank are not generally completely retarded. They come into games like this expecting systems and mechanics to work certain ways, talk to npc's and actually learn about things instead of trying to bruteforce.

Honestly I've been buying it because im a mage boy so I need that sweet mana cost reduction.

Didn't even have to touch it, found teeth/bones on some of those little tentacle shits and put a bunch of it in the first few traps and a shit ton of iron spike traps.

Attached: Outward 2019-03-30 02-57-29-35.png (1920x1080, 2.4M)

congrats. Theyre a pain if you fight them without traps. especially the miniboss one

Yeah they're really easy for me
But im also not retarded, a lot of people are.

thank
you

From this thread, sounds like 40-100.

>Unchecked ego
nice projection
>Believe it or not people who play eurojank are not generally completely retarded. They come into games like this expecting systems and mechanics to work certain ways, talk to npc's and actually learn about things instead of trying to bruteforce.
If you think everyone that bought outward is some eurojank vet you are retarded and think eurojank scene is bigger than it is, sperg about it all you want flaunt this weird concept you have that you are a superior video game player and the only or even the majority of players playing outward are people that finished gothic 1&2. But let me redpill you, outward was advertised as a survival rpg and survival rpgs have plenty of retards that play them, plenty of people will leave the village and die to the hyena with nothing more than the waterskin and whatever shitty wep that picked up, and it's literally fine, and doesn't make them sub 80 iq contrary to what you think, and when they have more resources and can make potions or cast spells or just lay down a minefield of traps, that hyena will still be their hardest fight and that's a good thing.

I don't know either, but while I'd like to know the answer as well, I'm also kind of anticipating finding out for myself. Explore and talk to NPCs. Maybe there's another trainer you haven't listed who offers even better spells.

Why are you dying on this hill? Who is this autistic?

No. There are like 10 faces to choose from per gender and they're all ugly as fuck. 1 body type per gender.

>flaunt this weird concept you have that you are a superior video game player
I'm literally not doing that. The person doing that is actually you.
I'm actively saying people aren't retarded and will use mechanics. You're saying people are inept and shit and can't do basic things. You are the one talking down to people here, you brainlet monkey fucker. Fuck off retard.

>why are you discussing video game
>talking about video game is autistic

Mohawk when?

>Ranting for an hour about how new players can't handle the easiest enemy in the game
>Discussion

Attached: 1532747595464.png (680x750, 135K)

Can someone answer this? Do I need to rush things because I've been grinding in the starting area for silver?

No retard, it's actually you.
You think people need to be sub 80 iq to leave the village without batman levels of tripwires I told you it was unrealistic to think like this, i don't know why you can't seem to put yourself in other people's shoes and think that if someone doesn't act like you, I'm calling them a sub 80 iq retard.
but then he says
>I don't have an ego!

>they're all ugly as fuck
All but the one

Attached: Outward 2019-03-29 19-44-25-67.png (1920x1080, 2M)

Because they literally cannot mentally cope with the fact that they are a goddamn retard

Attached: mood_huh.gif (352x288, 1.23M)

>it isn't discussion because I disagree
>it's a rant because i disagree
okay champ

I knew it was the Squidward before i even clicked the image

Attached: omg.jpg (600x451, 28K)

Nice, any tips on where to go about being a mage?

You'd have to be sub 80 iq to leave town without talking to anybody, getting better gear, selling worse gear, and equipping things like traps
Any attempt to say otherwise just proves you were one of those sub 80 iq morons and can't cope with being called out on it

Attached: 1512555564896.gif (500x281, 320K)

So I went for 200 mana.

Are there trainers for increasing stamina and health? Because I'm getting nervous about whether I've irredeemably gimped myself.

>I don't have an ego but if people don't act like me they're are sub iq
really activates my almonds.

Some Rune Magic combinations I've come across:

>Rune Sword: Shim, Egoth
>Rune Mine: Shim, Fal
>Runic Protection: Dez, Egoth
>Runic Lantern: Fal, Dez

There was a Rune Greatsword that I accidentally casted, but I can't seem to repeat the combination.

So Spear or Halberd?

>GOTY
>Literally lose half of my shit every one out of three game loads
Its fucking bullshit. I've lost an entire backpack full of shit several times now because the game is buggy as fuck. I just load and poof most of my shit is gone.

___axe_________

works fine for me, lad

Attached: smug.jpg (614x464, 73K)

yea i've dropped the game after my shit get disappearing I'll look at it again when they have mods, for now modded skyrim suits my survival rpg needs.

The trainer in the first town increases your HP and Stamina for a little bit. If you go Spellsword Unleashed from the same guy or w/e it's called, it also increases your hp/stam/mana a bit. This is all on the first map, so probably you can increase it a bit elsewhere too

But you should probably never go into melee

>axe
>axe
>AXE
fuck your mother! if i want to swing around like a retard, i might as well just shove my face into a hyenas mouth right now

>i dont have an ego but im going to automatically assume everyone is a brainlet retard who runs into hyenas and dies to them.
>it's not possible for the average player of a eurojank game to actually use mechanics, and if you think so, you are an egotist
>if you use a basic system of the game, im going to autistically compare you to batman because im so fucking dogshit I can only make excuses

correct

Attached: 121342345325.jpg (708x847, 224K)

its shim egoth shim egoth for greatsword. You just double it.

>not using based hammer

I did really well with the pitchfork and as soon as I picked up the halberd I kept dying. It has a really dumb heavy attack that makes you stab and back off, which is completely fucking counterproductive because it just makes you miss instead

Also the light attack is wide sweeps, which is shit

>He went for the slightly cross-eyed, not sure if it's a fart or a shit, pensive face

They're all ugly dude. But I realized I don't really care about how pretty the main character is and there's something kind of appealing about the homely faces. I went for the 4th face, the kind of chubby hobbit-lookalike one. Where it looks like my guy is more at home eating elevensies breakfast and smoking some good pipeweed. Only to find himself with a pack on his shoulders and a road in front of his feet.

Im not the ego guy, i just know retarded people when i see them
Exactly

Hammers.

Does hammer also have the shitty heavy attack where you push enemy away like the two hand morningstar? Axe can actually chain it's heavy attack for a combo

>i dont have an ego but im going to automatically assume everyone is a brainlet retard who runs into hyenas and dies to them.
The difference is i think people who do that are normal, you think people who do that is retarded, you think people who die to hyenas didn't talk to anyone and you think people who die to hyenas and trying to fight barehanded.
>it's not possible for the average player of a eurojank game to actually use mechanics, and if you think so, you are an egotist
No you're an egotist because it's part of who you are, it's some part of your autism that makes incapable for you to imagine how other people act, you just assume they all act like you and have played all the games you've played, you should never become a game dev.
>if you use a basic system of the game, im going to autistically compare you to batman because im so fucking dogshit I can only make excuses
Another projection, I can tell you're seething by how much you are projecting to try and derail the argument so I'l say it again, never died to a hyena cope harder.

>Im not the ego guy, i just know retarded people when i see them
must be easy when you see one in the mirror everyday user.

Does co-op work on the pirated copy?

Nice, thanks.

Thanks. Getting that then.

Should I not spend my skill point on him though since it sounds like he's for a melee oriented class? Or can his abilities be utilized to good effect by an all out mage?

>You should never become a game dev
Why the fuck would I want to lmao. Awful career field.

it's an invite only game and you can't play with legit users, you'd need a pirate bro.

How does the resting shit work?I've just started playing game and been stuck on resting screen for 8 minutes

>kill lich and get all of his armor
>lich so impressed someone beat him
>lets you come back once a week and pick 3 rare resources
>armor all together is about 60% reduced mana cost on spells
>with jade scimitar and light infused lexicon its about 80%
>wine and turmmip pottage makes all my runes free to cast
>lantern explosion combo is free and almost one shots all basic enemies
I am a literal god bros... this game is so good.

Resting is this game's drm

I want to play it more but holy fuck I can't do it. Last time it happened I lost 16 gold fucking bars, all of my potions, teas, tents and the fucking cool lamp I bought in the desert area which runs on batteries.

It drives me fucking crazy. And it only has one autosave because TEHEHE HARDCORE SURVIVAL SCRUB DON'T WANT YOU LOADING A SAVE TO AVOID THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS!

What about the consequences of this being a fucking unfinished early access game? Holy fuck I mad.

touché.

Gotta run it as admin, had the same issue.

Probably bugged. Try running as an admin.

I'm personally worried about how much time I've wasted on the first map if the world times quests you haven't even picked up yet. Like I've spent a week where I killed maybe one hyena a day, and slept my absolutely wrecked body off.

Philosopher gives you permanent mana regen, I'd grab that if you're going pure mage.
Hell I'd consider grabbing that even if you only dabble.

Wait is this game actually good? I thought all those shill threads on Yea Forums before launch were just shitposters and people making fun of the game

most of the time sensitive quests dont become time sensitive until you pick them up, afaik. As soon as you take the quest, then the timer happens.

>pirated copy
>larger files
>Gotta run it as admin

seems legit

Its honestly pretty enjoyable except for the game ruining bugs that can happen at any time and the one save slot bullshit ensuring that if they happen you won't want to keep going because you can't do anything about it.

no it's not fucking good. fun and comfy, sure. but good? no.

Huh, considering how much the mana reduction stacks and how likely the presence of some mana regen ability is. I'm thinking the 200 mana decision is going to be problematic moving forward.

Is there a spell that can sub mana for health, like a mana shield?

The Spellsword Unleashed skill is for Spellswords and unlocks those skills, but it gives you the stat boosts so it's up to you if you think it's worth it(probably not). But the other skill is a normal passive and only costs 50 silver so you should get it no matter what you're gong for

>It drives me fucking crazy. And it only has one autosave because TEHEHE HARDCORE SURVIVAL SCRUB DON'T WANT YOU LOADING A SAVE TO AVOID THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS!

Check your save folder.

Hope you haven't progressed far past that point, because there's like ten surfaces in there. Just delete the latest ones until you get back to a save where you dull had your stuff.

mana ward

awesome dude, thanks

Unfortunately I had a $50 PSN card I never bothered using and picked this up on a console. It was a terrible mistake and I should have just pirated it. I'm paying for that mistake by losing most of my shit randomly.

I do believe there is a mana shield that makes you immune to damage for a short while, but you have to commit a chainlink to unlock it. The benefit of 200 mana id your rested mana is now 100. At the starting town you go to the spellshield trainer has a basic passive you can pick up for more basic HP, its 50 silver but well worth it. Also if you plan on doing more traditonal casting and not rune the spells cost substantially more.

Honestly I'm having an incredible amount of fun with the game. Has a lot of soul and the aspect of exploring to find hidden trainers for special abilities really makes it fell like you earned your badass character.

That being said, I still think its worth $30 and not $40. Don't buy it unless you can shrug off the extra $10 and are willing to forgive a little jankiness.

what faction should i join bros?
also is there ever a teleport system or quick travel system?

I got a lot of shit in my stash in the lighthouse but i don't like the idea of walking all the way back and transporting it to a new city.

I took spellsword on my mage. The infuse projectile is pretty handy and hits pretty hard. The extra stamina is a godsend too.

No and it's annoying. They should at least let us take boats/caravans between towns for like 100 silver or something.

By most, do you hopefully mean all? Or is this warlord quest really a globally timed one?

For all the time I've wasted I still only have hide armor, a fang trident, and only a couple spells. If I rush the warlord event in case it hasn't already started can I beat them?

Tried it out of curiosity. I just can't get into these type of games, but can get the appeal.

>need to get 150 silver or do hero stuff
>ok go outside of town
>map is bandit camps and mountain nearby
>fuck it, mountain it is then
>kill few bandits on the way and finally someone kills me
>wake up inside mountain and accidentally fall in to labyrinth with glowing lizardmen and die
>wake up same place. go out then have to sleep
>die while sleeping
>wake up inside slave mine this time
>earn some money there
>talk to a guard and get killed
>wake up at a beach at night
>see a lighthouse far away
>okay there's probably something interesting there
>venture there and it's the same city where i started from

sorry noob story.

Where is the philosopher?

Oh if you started that warlord quest you better go fucking do it now or say bye to your lighthouse.

Guys how do I refill the lantern? It's not Lantern+oil in crafting, unless I need to refine the oil you get from Trogs somehow?

Do a makeshift craft of your lantern and oil, it will unlock the recipe for you.

I want to be a spell boy but it seems so hard that I must be doing something wrong. I wish someone would put up a guide or something because I'm about to just start over.

Oh thank god, sad about it costing a skill point but hopefully the skill tree it unlocks is good?

Otherwise, I guess I still have the benefit of the mana helping the other spell casting types.

>warlord
user if you started that quest do it now

Does ps4 let you access a directory structure of any sort? That sucks man.

it's lantern + oil

oh fuck i didnt know i could turn shitty armor into linen

how the fuck? I wonder if it's a console thing?

Thanks! Might do that as well then.

What have you done so far user? what are you trying to make work

So the spell sword's abilities work so well for a mage it's worth the skill point even if you never go into melee? That's awesome.

Oh, I haven't yet - or at least I don't think I have. To be honest I still haven't even finished talking to Rissa regarding everyone leaving town.

That quest doesn't seem to be timed given how long I've dragged my feet on it.

So I'm still good?

>retarded white bird following me from bandit camp
>too loaded up to deal with it
>on the way to town it starts a fight with two hyenas
>it starts running away and they keep chasing it
>go to the town, unload, sleep
>new day and new adventure
>leave town
>birds passes me by chased by the hyenas
>what the fuck
>go for an adventure through ghost gate
>go through the corrupted ruins too
>come out near the bandit base, cross the bridge and go through the gatehouse
>the fucking bird runs past me still running away from the hyenas

This is hilarious

>not saving the guy on the shore and getting a free house out of it
Never going to make it

Do factions offer only faction specific equipment/trainers to people who have joined that faction?

Yea you're still good, I didn't talk to rissa and everyone else leaving in forever. even after that I didn't hurry to do the next part, I think side quests aren't usually timed but the main quest can sometimes often be.
Basically if anyone ever tells you something is going to happen soon, it's probably timed.

so, I'm still learnign the ropes with this game
on my first play I dun goofed and I lost my lighthouse

should I bother making another character and start all over again?
I want to like this game but its clunky mechanics and 2006-era aesthetics is meh

I was clicking of the fucking ? instead of pressing T to craft it REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

That's incredible. Keep a log of further interactions.

It's worth it but I think shaman, sage, and philosopher are better individually. I don't like to match all 3 cause it's a large skill slot investment. I see a lot of people taking Philosopher just for the passive regen skill, but mana regen consumables and mana cost reduction is easy enough to stock up on that it's just a minor convenience at best.

Pretty fucking great game but I have two main issues with it.
First off the game barely punishes you for fucking up. Got captured by slavers ? Just do three miniquests that consist of giving the person x item that you find right next to them and you're back out. Bandits beat the shit out of you ? You wake up at a safe distance in a house.
And every fucking time the backpack is right next to you.
I was kinda hoping for something like escaping rebirth in kenshi. Basically a case where the struggle is real and you have to use everything you know to get out of the shit
Second main issue is that the game world seems to be entirely static. What I mean is that if you kill something it stays dead.
While this seems pretty cool at first it becomes an issue in things like bandit bases where you can eradicate half the base, go home and take a nap then come back to finish of the rest who are just waiting around for you to kill them.
The world just doesn't feel like it's alive

dunno, if they're like the male characters then no. They're probably all varying degrees of ugly. But it kind of makes sense in the context your character isn't some chosen one. But someone from a humble lifestyle suddenly thrown out into the world.

Made an alt and have been playing pure melee for a while. It's been a lot easier than I thought it would be. Kick really fucks early game enemies up something fierce.

Awesome. I almost feel like they should have a warning notification to the player the first time this happens. That the quest is ruined and they should pay attention to the dialog from that point on.

that's the fucking point. you're not supposed to rely on melee combat

Some places and dungeons take about a week to respawn

>While this seems pretty cool at first it becomes an issue in things like bandit bases where you can eradicate half the base, go home and take a nap then come back to finish of the rest who are just waiting around for you to kill them.
Sure beats 'lol everyone respawned at midnight'.

Thanks again user, really appreciate it.

How do you save?

You dont.

I just wish the game did something against that like maybe putting in more traps on secondary visits

???

Autosaves only.

what a waste of 8gb

how big of a deal is if I lose my lighthouse home?
is this the only home I'll ever have in this game?

makes me want to restart from the beginning

i hate this game and i'm in every thread about it to sa as much but, I'l point out somethings to the games merritt.
>First off the game barely punishes you for fucking up.
punishment comes when you're on a timed quest and wake up in the middle of nowhere with cracked ribs and you have to wait days to heal, or when you get a cold or indigestion and it gets worse and you have to sleep losing you more time.
get deeper into the game and it'll fuck you cherosonme is the tutortial even though there's a lot of shit in there you won't be able to kill the only pressure you have at the start is to save your house.

>Second main issue is that the game world seems to be entirely static. What I mean is that if you kill something it stays dead
this is unfortunately true, i wish after wiping out the countryside of bandits and hyenas people would populate it, traders caravans or something but it's pretty barren. Bases and caves however do respawn, my theory on why the countryside doesn't respawn fast and the bases don't respawn fast are in part two things.
1. Carry weight
2. Traveling
I think the game devs leave shit dead because they realize you want to loot a dungeon but rarely can due to weight constrictions, or you kill half a dungeon but need to rest in the dungeon, if you rested a day in the dungeon and all the mobs respawned you'd be pissed and or fucked if you didn't have the right item or sometimes you just need it to be able to pass through an area, that leads me to my second point Traveling time, could you fucking imagine walking through pic related on foot all the fucking time, if everything you killed respawned the next day? it's so you can auto run without wanting to kill yourself for running into a mob.

Start over, the infinite storage space is invaluable.

So what's the penalty for not paying my debt? I died a few times and now I'm in a slave camp(?) and I'm pretty sure my five days are up or about to be.

you can get it back for 300 silver, I think.

But it sounds like whatever faction you join gives you a house ass well.

You can buy it back for 300 at anytime, its not a super big deal of not gaining it within the five days.

you lose your house. they repossess it

Oh, is that so?
and why the game tells me about that 5 days limit? they just double the price and I can still buy it back, huh?

interesting

Yeah but I mean is that a huge deal? I think I left some blue sand in the stash but aside from that I was planning on being a wandering murderhobo anyway.

Attached: 1431088465350.png (560x407, 12K)

Because they repo it and you cant use it until you buy it back. It turna your mistake into a money sink

It is a huge deal if you want to keep items safe in that chest. If you die there is a chance you wont get your shit back.

It's amazing how much easier the game is on your second playthrough
>Casually shitstomp bullet shrimps, wendigo, and bandits captains with just an iron greatsword and worker's shirt while hopped up on omelets and water

An user yesterday said the ost was really god and they were correct.

>made my friend a taunosaur greataxe
>he said thanks
Game is comfy

>hey user meet me in this village
>sur-
>see all sorts of horrifying monsters
so err, why don't these guys give me a lift? yzan had a legitimate reason i couldn't go with him but why do i have to deal with this hijinks

Attached: Hello.png (732x895, 1.3M)

anyone knows how long it takes for your char to die of hunger?
i'm stuck between a wall and a rock and i cant get free

>Heading back home after tapping into the ley line at the mountain
>Loaded with loot and severely injured from a fight near the beach the watchers threw you on
>The monumental struggle of the fight making me regret my lost stamina for the currently useless mana
>Don't have any of my camping equipment, didn't realize how far abroad I was going to be thrown, it's getting dark and I still have half the distance to cover to make it back to town
>Night settles in, I can't see shit while the occasional battle ditty informs me my enemies clearly don't have the same problem
>despairing my predicament, I resign myself to a likely death as I can't even see where I'm going. All I have is my compass.
>Suddenly a nimbus of light bursts across the horizon before disappearing again
>While I'm confused the light again bursts across the horizon
>realize it's the lighthouse overlooking the town
>I head straight for it, I'm saved

Neat

House isn't mandatory but is extremely useful. Soon enough you'll have a shit ton of items and you'll sell most of them at first but later on you'll realize that some might be very valuable as ingredients and those ones you'd wanna store in the chest in your house.

Fuck the swamp area.
>look at the map and think i'm following the road
>go in some tower of dickshit
>full of some fucking demons
>demons waiting for me outside too
>dinosaurs n shiet chasing me too, fighting with the demons
>dinosaurs KEEP CHASING ME ACROSS THE ENTIRE MAP and I can't run away fast enough no matter what I do
>it gets dark and I'm still running from these fucking faggots, completely lost because I can't open the map since I'll get killed

Protip: Just follow the light in the sky

There are guide stones along the main road that take you to the town.

they did a really good job with landmarks like that.

anybody know if I can turn this brutal club into anything?

found a solution
for anyone with a similar problem:
get the cheat table that enables dev mode

Honestly I think the ost is the reason the game world doesn't feel so empty to me. It really inspires that wanderlust feeling.

FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>automatically trades blows with you no matter what you do
>can't run away from it
>deals a retarded amount of damage
>has only one attack in which it hugs you and pecks you, attacks super fast too
What the fuck

git gud

You can't outrun a black

Brutal axe + alpha tuanosaur tail and a palladinum scrap makes a tuanosaur axe so brutal club might have the same upgrade.

>what melee fights in outward feel like
youtube.com/watch?v=0-T6fH4tEoY

Wait, so the game is actually fun? Everyone was shiting on it 2 days ago? I might give it a chance.

any way to separate enemies in this game dealing with groups is not fun

...

Set traps and drown them in a pool of their on blood

>Go around do the bandage tribute
>come back into town
>cocksucker guard wont teach me a spell for free
Where do i get spear talents?

>What have you got up to with the split screen at home alone anons?
Might get it so i can play it with my wife

Daggers are so broken in this game
>quickest recovery
>0 stamina cost
>critical backstab skill

Just picked up a rondel dagger and cleared a bandit fort with it.

no it's just mind crushingly boring

Outward is such a wonderful game. I played with my friend for like 4 hours straight last night. We finally paid off our debt and decided to venture into the huge open world. We packed enough water and provisions for a 3 days journey. We stuck to the coast dodging the giant shrimp only to find ourselves outnumbered by a bunch of bandits. We tried our best to fight them but we lost. Thinking that was the end and we'd have to reload, we wake up in the bandit's prison. Without any spoilers on how to escape (because I want you guys to experience it for yourself it's really cool), we find ourselves washed up on shore in the middle of the night. Friend's gear is missing, only has shit he jacked from the prison while I'm in full gear with my backpack so I'm providing for him while he's suffering from all of these negative status effects. No food, no water, we set off on another journey through the pitch black to our home. Shit like that just makes me even more excited to play it later. Also has a beautiful OST.

this anyone who complains at hit trading never used a dagger

Imagine throwing rainbows around instead of facing your enemies head on

Anyone not playing this game co op is doing a massive disservice to themselves.

y-yea we all have friends right h-hhaha

The spear talent guard teaches you is kind of shit anyway

Yeah if you dont have any friends after lurking on this website for 13 years you might be fucked.

Are weapon skills part of a skill tree? If I buy them will I eventually get cucked out of other skills? I thought you could only learn 3 skill trees.

>13 years
>site isn't even a year old

this just happened to me. I'm going to scrap my character because fuck that shit.

>tfw still not used to the split
Christ.

Are there stats and levels and stuff? Can you grind to be more powerful?

>and why the game tells me about that 5 days limit?
to give you a taste for time limited missions

A high budget game built under this same ethos would be good tier gaming.

Attached: 1553207909934m.jpg (723x1024, 172K)

no_

God tier*

Fuck.

It'd be ruined because then it'd have to cater to mass appeal.

Not if notch funded it with his autism bux

Well that's what I mean by ethos. It doesn't cater to mass appeal. Same design philosophy just more people and grander ambition of doing it all.

;_;

I'll be your friend now shut the fuck up about your feelings

This game seems like it stripped out all the fun things and put in a bunch of tedious things. Not sure what's supposed to be enjoyable about it.

The tedious things obviously.

>friend doesn't have monmons to spend on games with his internet buddy
I should pirate it until I can have fun with friends

Split?

my friend said he didn't think 60 monmons was worth the price

SPLIT SCREEN JESUS FUCKING HELL

The split between the red and blue boards dummy

Isn't the game only 40?

regional pricing

Right I completely forgot my bad

What region is it more than 40 burgers

Attached: CY.png (245x206, 7K)

Hurr Durr its 60 dingo dollary doos

Where is a Japanese fag to complain about how much in ¥

>Do I need to rush things
All quests are on timers that start when you first make a file. You can 100% miss out on the main quest by dragging your feet, that's kind of the point.

From what I've seen only the ability in the center costs a skill point. You can see it from tree way it lists one 'golden chain' along with silver in the cost. My experience has been all the abilities below that cost only silver. Presumably you can learn those kinds of abilities from all skill trainers. While my impression is the ones above rely on you buying the skill in the middle first. They too, only cost silver though.

where's the faggy red mage merchant's hidden treasure?

>open door in giants' ruins after finally getting all the gems
>1v5 the troggs inside
>just a couple mining nodes and a rainbow shield for my reward

>Yea Forums no longer constantly suck on that triple A dick
a dream has come true

How's melee only? Terrible?

It's 4100 yen which is less than 40 USD.

how good at you at winning trades and fighting multiple people by yourself?

cuphead wasn't triple a

I'm about to finish my tour of Chersonese as mainly melee. It's solid. Though I have been using my bow and weapon rag buffs a lot. If you play it like dark souls then you're gonna get rolled.
Outward melee is 100% about stability.

>All quests are on timers that start when you first make a file
What

>set up camp in front of the inn's entrance
Fuck the system.

Basically when you start the game, objects are set in motion. Quests progress overtime with or without your interference and you can fail them by just not being there before they culminate.

So playing comfy innawoods is screwing myself?

Also I recommend that you get used to keep consumable buffs up because you need as much stamina as you can get. I also recommend that you try to time your blocks instead of holding it as stamina recovery stops entirely while you're guarding.

it's like majoras mask but on acid

>time blocks but it doesn't let you parry
disgusting honestly

There are parries. They are just skills instead of being tied to block.

Two handed axe or one handed ax?

Ok that's cool as shit. I will try to stay on Chersonese as long as I can and see what happens.

Good thing there's an auto run button for this waling simulator.
>die
>get teleported to the other side of the map
>another 15mins of walking because god forbid you destroy your stamina bar trying to save time

It's somewhat lenient, but it's designed to motivate you to progress instead of stagnating. If you get complacent and start wasting time either grinding or farming for stuff, the world is functionally going to end. It's comparable to the timer in Pikmin. Just enough to keep you on your toes but you're not going to lose the game if you take the time to explore or see the sights.

>Walking Hives

Attached: 1493529318086.gif (635x457, 1.52M)

yeah but the cooldowns are fucking horrible. It'd be much better if they massively reduced the timing window in exchange for shorter cooldown

Should I start over? I feel like i should start over

Just roll with it dude

Im all stressed now

Just be yourself.

Are you going to just start over anytime you fuck up a quest? Because odds are you're going to fuck up a quest like 10 hours in, just to fuck up another 15 hours in. Don't worry about it.

Yes

is this just a better Kenshi?

>better

Attached: 5bf.jpg (480x318, 17K)

Lmao I just run up and stunlock them first from the flank with greataxes, guranteed to kill most enemies in one combo

Is the blue sand armor any good?

Paladium armor is the one that glows in the dark and has a unicorn horn

If I wanted to be me I wouldn't be spending my life in this autism simulation

Still shilling this shit game I see

No, in order to get more powerful in the game you have to find skill trainers. The best ones appear to be hidden, and I've heard some anons saying they get powerful abilities from random encounters.

For example: I've talked to all the NPCs in the village and one of them heard a rumor about a powerful hermit living in the ghost pass. Some mage who can control the power of wind. Because I'm making a mage character I'm planning on launching an expedition to the pass once I'm satisfied with the gear my character has collected and have enough money to pay for skills.

Me in the meanwhile spending 2H looking for the alphas so I can make dinosaur axe

The king of the desert city teaches you that

Any suggestions on fighting the light lich boss?
>one spell shits on 75% of my health
I died and I have to go get my bag that's still up there.

Attached: light lich.png (1920x1080, 3.26M)

Poison and bleed are insane.

Just did a search online. According to the devs all quests are timed from when you first start them. They did, however, allude to the possibility there are hidden quests timed from the start of the game.

That being the case I'm probably just going to explore every area until I'm satisfied no matey how long it takes. I'll do a faster run on my next passthrough with a legacy.

Did you try - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - git gud - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -?

Cool and useless shitpost. Good job.

Cumtroler or Moose and Pee board?

that's what I'm here for.

Otherwise I haven't fought him yet. I've heard ethereal (purple?) Damage wrecks ghosts. Have you tried that?

Rkayde Stik

Do you still get rewarded if you kill the Venvadel leaders before they threaten Cierzo?

if you've got light boon use it.

>Venvadel leaders
Who?

Latter imo. There are a ton of abilities you can get in the game. Honestly I feel a little limited by only being able to map 8 abilities to keys.

Don't get into melee with him or anyone

No clue.

The three bosses at the Vendavel Fortress.

THERE'S THREE OF THEM?

yes and it works well too. much better than I expected
my wife and I are on a comfy rpg adventure. I can't even think of the last game to pull off something like this. Fable maybe?

Yeah. There is the plate armor dude, the mage, and the HONORABU warrior dude

Oh i see, i killed them all i just assumed it would repawn like other places did though. i hope i still get rewarded

>Need to go to the desert city to learn warm boon
I should have gone with cold infusion.
Oh well at least I can launch lightning.

you have to think and plan rather than bullrush like a typical Action RPG

>"so it says here that you had sex with a ghost once?"
I love this guy

He calls himself a light lich, but his spells look like lightning. I'd probably have to get my hands on some damage resist stuff to take him. I managed to hit him once and the damage was shit, but he literally turns the fighting area into a light show of spells. He might as well be in a bullethell game.
