In most games they have no relation to the gameplay and are just annoying mascots like those in Tales of games or Precure.
How so? Personally, I still think that Pikachu has the best design of any Pokemon, because it's so appealing to all audiences in nature, plus it has bold primary colors and conveys a fast and electric nature. There's lot of good Pokemon designs, but Pikachu is still the best one.

Pikachu is pretty bland & boring and kind of doesnt convey enough of it being a Pocket MONSTER. Jibanyan, while serviceable to his own franchise, has way too much going on at once, whether it be from colors to themes.
They are a common enemy across all the games, are fairly simple, cute, and memorable because of all that. They are the best choice for a mascot from that series as a whole. What is wrong with it?

It really feels like they wanted number 1, but someone in production told them they needed a Jibanyan rip-off. Really, Navirou is less cute than generic felines drawn in Stories' art style.
There are just so many slimes now. yellow Street Slime, pic related Devil Slime, Cube Slime, Orange Slime. Could make an entire collage that would outnumber the DQ Slime family most likely.
The DQ Slimes were inspired by the ones from the original Wizardry, including their general gel-like shape and being the weakest enemy type.
D&D's Slimes inspired by sci-fi movies and actual real life incidents, so it's not exactly an original concept. Beholder is a very specific original design and name associated with it.

I always though charzard was one of the smoothest dragon style designs ever, I Mc actually never seen a dragon style design more classic than charzard. Like every other dragon thing has too much shit on it.
Yea pikachu has the thunderbolt SHAPED tail and doesn’t evolve well, but Charzard and all his lower evolutions have an actual flame for a tail, coolest shit ever.
And like in the old show, if it rained picacbu would get electrocuted and charmander would take damage and his tail would go out.
