Their games were selling like shit, they over reached in terms of rapid growth so they were desperate to bank on name appeal to try and get good sales numbers again. The whole company was run by short sighted retards.

it's dumb because they overdatured the market like mad, with stuff people largely did not want and probably cost some money to license/produce, but added no value to the studio since they did not own. When they should have focused on their own IP to grow fans of it and them, and gain interest from investors.
