Looking back, 8-Bit theater might have been the most I had ever gotten into a webcomic. It was pretty much an entire series of anticlimactic joke conflicts and old-school game parodies, but I was weirdly absorbed with it back in the day.
Not sure why it made me so nostalgic for a game that I had never even played.

I'm more amazed it not only got an ending, but how fucking LONG the whole thing was. Sure it's not exactly drawing and coloring everything by hand but every page still clearly had plenty of work put into it. Imagine loving a series enough to do that for well over a thousand pages.

Have you played it since? FF1 is the first JRPG I ever played. I was like four years old. I still think it's one of the better FF games. There are some terrific fan made patches you can load up to play it pretty much bug-free. It's got tons of replayability.
