He is the secret boss of the game.
All I can say is pack the Demon flinching whistle and only use it for Phase two and on.
Besides that. Jump back out of the way when he does the dragging claw move. then immediately run at him so you don't get blasted with fire.

>deathblow the snake FROM THE FUCKING SKY
>FOUNTAIN OF BLOOD
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ANIMEEEEEE

>tfw no cute shota master

Not gameplay but lore help. Beat the game and got the sever immortality ending, whats the deal with emma giving sekiro the arm, as if it wasn't already his belonging?

I honestly treated him like Midir. Keep a medium distance, then run in after he does a punishable move. Though it is possible to get in close if you want. Every single attack has an optimal way to avoid and punish it, you just need to figure it out.

There's nothing about the fight I would really consider "unfair", the arena is huge and all of his attacks are well-choreographed.

Why the fuck was the last thread deleted? Did you niggas start posting porn or something?

any tips to take down sculp- i mean demon[/spoielr]? fucking infine health

No it hit 500 replies. i wouldn't be suprised if faggots like this started doing that though.

reached the limit and you idiots always forget to make a new one

Fucking hardstuck on the Owl, boys

Attached: to-be-alive-to-walk-this-earth-thats-the-real-2599656.png (500x536, 443K)

I'm just not trying to spam the board with a bunch of help threads. If you want to post them before the bump limit be my guest.

Attached: Clownworld.png (1282x800, 1.95M)

i did earlier today but can't help when i'm playing because my laptop overheats

I made myself beat owl first try just because I had a bunch of money and almost enough exp for a skill point, even used a divine grass but didnt wind up needing it

That's nice, keep that shit to yourself though

shadows die twice

Who was ROBBBEEEERRRRTTTTT?

Is that cleric beast with the head of those monsters in Nightmare Frontier?

Is the Tengu quest over after you get Mushin text, or is there something else to it?

Attached: meme demon.png (510x768, 501K)

well he didn't need to protect anyone anymore so he went full sculptor

Is it possible to get every prayer bead if i'm locked out of the purification ending?

It's over.
That text is literally the "Final special move" skill tab.

Best character in the game, thanks to whom you have firecrackers

I want the best ending for kuro, does he return to his cute shota form in return or is he stuck sharing a body with the loli?

Attached: 1523133093593.jpg (676x499, 95K)

The armored guys son
What I'd like to know is how bushwhacking some asshole shinobi is going to help

The only ending where he survives in his own body is Purification

This is probably a rare case but you can't get Gyoubu's spear prosthetic anymore after killing the divine dragon , just thought I'd let people know.

i’m getting raped by these 2 healthbar fags with the spears and whatnot. i feel like i focus on parries and shit so much instead of just being loose and dodgy like i would on souls. idk how to play this shit

His son. The armor dude brought him to japan to cure him. Gave him to the monks who then experimented on him trying to make another divine loli. It did not work.

Do we ever see Robert? What is Robert's dad actually guarding?

You can, it's in the box next to the sword trainer.

He was guarding the monks in exchange for them "curing" his son.

I guess he was hired out by the monks and they promised to make his son immortal (either using centipedes or the fountainhead).

What is the trigger for advancing the plot to the final stage? Killing the dragon, or Owl 2?

Dragon

Best ending of Kuro and Japan is the Return ending.

And where the plot picks up in a potential Sekiro 2.

Sounds like onimusha dawn of dreams’ roberto.

Been stuck on Genichero for 2 days. Took a break, when to the forest and village kill some bosses, came back..... getting to phase 3 faster but still stuck.

I admit I play the game wrong. Every single boss I look for a weakness or a environmental exploit. Let the poison swamp kill snakeeyes, Traped O-rin against a wall, somehow got seven spears stuck on the steps... no idea how

I play dirty and playing strait is hard and tedious.

Dragon. Pick your ending before you fight him

Was probably some job to guard the bridge so his son could be immortal or something.
It's a from soft game. Shits vague. That was probably just to showcase that foreigners were around at the time or some shit.

I never saw him again after he left the castle gate, but isn't it hinted at that he's Isshin? because I got the Mushin text from Emma after Isshin died and left it to me

So nothing will change if I kill Owl first? I'll just get one more option when making the choice later?

Oh fuck really? I thought I locked my save out of getting all prosthetic upgrades. Thank you.

Get the lightning parry. Jump in the air and attack the lightning when he jumps

What does half the mask do?

>Isshin so hardcore he still kicks massive ass in his old weak ass age

He is Isshin, and if you got to evening before getting the text, you can just talk to him in his tower instead.

The cheese for genchiro is his shitty posture and lighting. You have to learn his counters to rack up posture damage.

Getting all pieces allows you to spend 5 skillpoints for +1 to attack.

all 3 combined create a mask that can further increase attack power at 5 skill points a pop without needing memories.

Get all 3 pieces to be able to up attack power for 5 skill points, which you shouldn’t really do until you max out all skill trees

Is there a difference between NG+ and NG++?

How does the post-game work with the bad ending (siding with Owl)? Does the game send you back before the choice or is the world locked in place and you're forced to start a new playthrough?

Is there a point in fighting optional mini-bosses if you already got their beads in the first playthrough?

Attached: snek.gif (270x188, 1.78M)

How much do you need to do it for NG? Because I still don't have the last piece, and skillpoints are going reeeeally slow now.

My main gripe was the chip damage from all the fire abilities. Even if it was there to tell you not to fully rely on deflects, it still felt a bit cheap.

You only lock yourself out of the shura ending from what i have heard. I am a shitter and can't even beat the first corrupted monk so do not take my word for it.

I think I only ever parried his feet.

What's the worst cheese kill on boss you've committed? Confess.

Attached: cheese.webm (1280x720, 2.68M)

I've beaten BB and all 3 DS games, and in every one there's always some early game enemy that kicks my shit in for wayyy to long and once I finaaly get past it something clicks and the rest of the game is cake. The godamned Chained ogre is the wall for me this time, those gay grabs just keep clipping me at the worst times.

Snap seeds and Firecrackers

It's unneeded, the devs put it in the game so that people can farm at the end to make the last bosses easier.

>You only lock yourself out of the shura ending
No, that's true for the first fight with him.

I pushed this asshole off the ledge during a finisher and it didn't count. Fucking bullshit.

I did the poison pool trick with Snake Eyes. Super cheap but fuck that mini-boss.

Relearn the basics, do parry/deathblow only runs of the first levels and you'll getgudder

You can lock yourself out of purification and return if you kill the dragon before you do interactions with Kuro and Emma.

what do those do? I think I only beat him using confetti and the mist raven. didnt think seeds had a use outside of lady butterfly

Worst I've done is stealthing the first health bar

Is there a limit?

99 attack from what I heard

That feels cheap to me and that is coming from a guy who did this

Attached: FuckThisBitch.png (1440x900, 2.48M)

Lady Nightjar
Seven Steps
Snake eyes swamp

I did em all

no, apart from the attack power cap which im sure is 99.

Do I need to play the last two phases of Isshin, Saint of Swords like a Souls boss?

Max Attack power is 99.
But Skill points take more and more EXP to get after every one.

so the mask is pretty much a New game+ thing.

I killed O'Rin by leading her to the bridge and slapping her ass before she could get me with her spaghetti noodle

The last piece is also from the Pot guy. You have to turn him into a fish.

where do I get the scales needed for it, I have only like 6

I didn't even no it would happen, was taking out the adds and hiding under the umbrella and noticed her hp was missing and...oh....hmmmm

absolutely not. you need to play more sekiro-style than you ever have before. you can beat all 4 phases in under 5 minutes just be aggressive and learn how to counter everything

No, it's possible to deflect everything but his sweep to rack up posture damage but it is really hard.

To add the second phase absolutely destroys me due all the Super Armor on his attacks.

Go swimming my guy

I'm getting better but I feel I gotta beat him down for the posture damage will stay for a useful amount of time.

>Play NG
>Play NG+
>Play NG++
I want to play more but I want new content. DLC cant come soon enough, I fucking love this game

I did that the first two phases and worked pretty well. Thought they were forcing you to switch up your game with his 5km long attacks.

please respond

If theres DLC I hope it features Tomoe and Yomi. You cant introduce that blade at the final boss and ignore it.

Snap Seeds stuns and does a healthy amount of damage to purple Illusions, like the first Monk

so when was it ever implied that there was not only a second mortal blade but that other blade can bring somebody from the underworld or some shit?

Learn how to spot when bosses deflect you and stop your aggression when they do. Genichero lets you smack his guard pretty freely, and usually after one block he either tries to dodge around and tanks a hit, or he deflects and goes for a combo. You can deplete his posture quite fast if you keep deflecting/countering his moves, while doing two attacks between each of his moves.
His jump slam to thrust/sweep mixup is also quite slow, where if you deflect the jump attack and spam dodge it will counter a thrust at the very last frames, and if he does the sweep you still have time to jump even if you dodged at him first.

You can overhear Isshin talking about it to himself, and later to Emma, and also there's a scroll outside his room that tells you about it.

there is a scroll in a chest near isshin in his watchtower that mentions the black mortal blade

There's a chest with a book about it on Isshin's balcony

Some user said theres a note around Isshins place before the final boss fight.

No huge difference, enemies will give more XP and SEN, and there HP and damage will scale up again.
>How does the post-game work with the bad ending (siding with Owl)?
You can play post-game but im not sure where it puts you because I just spent like 10 minutes buying some shit before going on to NG++
>Point to fighting minibosses
They just drop money bags, so if fighting them isnt fun for you, then you can skip them.

Adding to the ending about siding with Owl, you can play around post game but you cant change your choice. You are locked into that ending and cant do anymore plot progression

Some mini-bosses are fun but fuck the apparitions, I will probably skip all of them.
Thanks for answering.

Are there really just two Ninjutsu techniques in the game or did I really just skip some in my first playthrough?

I know these threads are going to be full of spoilers but the OP shouldn't have spoilers, op is truly a faggot.

anyway I'm at 0rin of the water, I figure I could fuck her shit up easy if I farm the castle for cofefe again but I don't wanna. I've gotten her down to less than a quarter without it and i realize you can't just sit on your balls and time your LBs. in fact I'm pretty sure they designed her main combo to just eat your posture bar and fuck you even if you time her perfect.

so do I have to get the divine cofefe? I already just farmed to get the lady butterfly kunai upgrade I don't want to farm those castle fags again.

Attached: IMG_5959.jpg (958x959, 85K)

>Yomi
>final boss is Izanami
>gimmick boss is Yamata no Orochi

The optional one is on Double Trouble Simians

there are 3

There's three, smoke cloud, puppeteer and increased range

>makes you forget completely about dark souls/bloodborne combat
>slips a dark souls/bloodborne boss near the ending
MIYAZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Attached: 1539590520041.gif (69x60, 29K)

The blood extending shit is really great to grind the faggot Okami Warriors at the Great Sakura.

Actually thinking about it some more I think its only the headless that drop money bags, the minibosses drop the Buddha statues that restore a resurrection instead of dropping prayer beads. Of course any prayer beads that you missed will still be there

>just beat sword saint

its all over bros

Attached: 20190329025446_1.jpg (1920x1080, 338K)

Maybe wait and come back when your vitality is higher. I had practically no trouble with her just parried her attacks until she was dead, but I found her pretty late in the game, that area was one of the last I visited.

Is the Shura final boss the same as the Immortal Severance final boss?

You can just spam deflect and kick her head when she ends with a sweep 90% of the time. You don't need confetti.

Learn to jump counter, she always does a sweep after her long combo, other than that use poison.
Divine confetti is not required for her.

HOW THE FUCK DO I BEAT THE FUCKING DEMON AAAHHHHH

Shura's Isshin is much, much weaker, and Emma is just a weaker and slower version of O'Rin

>only motivation in life is to prevent people from bullying his master
>literally kills everyone including his master
wtf sekiro

Use the whistle at the last phase, has to be fully upgraded.

Keep distance, wait for fire arm attacks, run in and smack, rinse and repeat.

I found great success standing on his right side where his fire arm. First phase is a cake walk and second one pretty much too. Als remember to jump when he does his perilious attack.

>Give you the ultimate skill tree
>Died of sickness
>Get to hell
>Grandson brought you back at your prime
>Had the best fight of your life
>Die honourably

kill your self

Is it done yet? If so post a link

I ain't proud of it
At least I did right by the other one

Attached: snake eyes.webm (1067x600, 1.05M)

>Tomoe still beat his ass in his prime
I can only imagine that any future fight against her will be a dissapointment compatred to Saint of Swords.

That doesn't really look like his prime

> Tfw almost owned his 2nd phase on 5th try and ran out of heals
Also, I fucking love how he says your name

Prime doesnt mean his youth. He was at the height if his combat capabilities when he was called the Saint of Swords.

I accidentally cheesed the spear guy and katana guy miniboss at reservoir because I grappled to the nearby branch and they just ran off the edge and died

>Under disguise as Tengu nicknamed you Sekiro
>Shouts it in the final battle
KINO

>Seven Spear and Samurai General at the same time
>haha nope
>bring in the general
>stealth kill, puppeteer
>Seven Spear is almost entirely free

how the fuck do you even do this fight normally

I can't believe how shitty the XB1X version is, there are constant frame drops and terrible input delay. It runs so much better on the pro. How is this even possible?

You don't.
It's the same with the double purple ninjas fight. Unless you cheese the mob really hard with firecracker, it's really unfair.

where else can I go besides going through this village? please be gentle on spoilers, I know in the story you're suppose to go to kongo or whatever temple but the only path I've found is to the bell or whatever after the first headless mini boss and it was a dead end.

Attached: 1503503017503.jpg (604x453, 28K)

Was he the best warrior in Japan? This fight is so perfect I was speechless for the first 10 minutes fighting him.
> hits like a truck
> enjoys battle like he finally found the opponent he can go full 200%
> that music
Shit.. I’m glad I bring him all types of sake during the game. Isshin is something

Attached: C4ECAC26-55E7-4476-9E92-B1643915C5FC.png (698x624, 148K)

Does the game tell you when he was first called sword saint? I assumed it was when he led the rebellion, when Sekiro was a child.

>FACE ME, SEKIROO
absolute kino, I had the chills

Go through the abandoned dungeon. The entrance is near the beginning of Ashina Castle area, the old woman on a bridge points you in that direction. That will lead you to the temple

Did you get to the top of Ashina Castle yet?

I mean. He calls you Sekiro multiple times before then when you give him booze.

I'm at the part where the castle is assaulted and Owl asks you to betrays Kuro
This isn't the end of the game, right ? I didn't accidentally miss a metric ton of stuff ?

He basically gave him a name, not a stupid nuckname like Owl did.

I just beat this boss in the exact same way

>Was he the best warrior in Japan?
He probably was. The title of "Sword saint" was reserved for the most legendary and unrivaled swordsmen, and according to tradition there could only be one sword saint at a time.

Attached: vagabond waves.jpg (1765x1300, 847K)

Maybe they forced it to run at a much higher resolution than they should have. I'm so glad I went for the PC version, the console versions are absolute trash

One of the answers ends the game really quick.

Near the end, 1 more area and it will be it.
If you want to go for those hard to get ending, best do it after you betray him

Depending on how much you've explored you're only half done the game or 2/3rds

Nah. You are like 5/7ths through the game.
But Right there is the turning point for the multiple endings.

Yep, opening movie. The guy who killed big general.

>come close to beating owl my first time
>every try after I can't even get through half his health on the first phase

Attached: 1540541148768.jpg (851x853, 75K)

Sure, I mostly meant the whole setting and how Isshin shouted it out during that final fight.

instead of going downhill to the bell climb up, it even got pigeon shit on it for you to see right after the gnome ninja to the right you'll get to the bridge that way and saddest boss in the series

So what did Isshin have in mind regarding the war between Ashina and the Interior Ministry? He clearly didn't agree with his grandson's methods, but it seems like he was never involved with the war either, only participating in the shadows as the Tengu of Ashina. I'm still a bit fuzzy as to what was his overall motivation in the game.

WITNESSED
Also I relate, I hope they patch the input delay because I swear I'm hitting them on Butterfly but she wrecks my posture anyway

like an afro samurai, only 1 can wear the number 1 headband

You can fight owl again?

what is the best track and why is it The Red Guard
youtube.com/watch?v=4dwlWodL92A

So he was probably middle-aged at the time, which is still not what he looks like in the battle.

What was his fucking problem?

Attached: Screenshot_20190329-040626.png (2280x1080, 1.69M)

PC got no delay, I see now why people complain about missing deflects

I'm fighting the dude in white robes with a spear and I decided it's about time I learned how to dodge properly. I know to jump for sweep attacks and how to do the thrust counter but what else is there? Also, what does it mean when an enemy has these red japanese letters on him during his attack?

So what's the lore of the fountainhead, why are those weird ass nobles eating the okami women

I think only 4 people called Sekiro by name.
Tengu, Isshin, The the girl you give seeds too and the sculptor.
All people closely tied to Isshin and only after the Tengu names you.

>wolfxkuro
>dat spoiler
Its the other way around if thats how you are writing it
you brainlet

one of the best fights, so good

Robert.

That one is good but the best is the one for combat against the monks.

Son is dying. working for the monks to get him immortality.
Also you have him break the walls then finish him while facing a wall to push him off the bridge.

Owl was by far the hardest boss in the game for me.

Unironically him and the Folding Screen Monkeys are great puzzle fights. So is the Divine Dragon but he's a little too easy, but damn was the atmosphere amazing.

It means his attack can't be parried by normal means and must be dodged. If it's a thrust, you can stomp on their weapon by pressing B as it's about to hit and going in their direction.

He is protecting what he thinks is his son's healers. You are the bad guy in this situation even though his son is already dead. He was killed by the monks just like all the rest of the children

Demon beast of hatred is kicking my ass because I don't got the spirit whistle.

where else can I go besides going through this village? please be gentle on spoilers, I know in the story you're suppose to go to kongo or whatever temple but the only path I've found is to the bell or whatever after the first headless mini boss and it was a dead end.

HOW TO BEAT GUARDIAN APE GUYS I'M SCRUBBING HARD TO THIS GUY

>Sekiro the virgin shinobi
>Can step on the weapon but enemies just they just shove his leg away anyway
>Make guys swoon a little with spark crackers

>Owl the chad thief
>Penetrate you with his 3 meter katana and kill you instantly after he steps on your toothpick
>Explode in your face and take nearly the entire healthbar with dynamite cracker
>Used to have a spirit owl

I laughed my ass off

Attached: Sekiro 2019.03.27 - 23.42.07.03_0001.png (1920x1080, 2.51M)

>watched someone deplete the ape stage one's posture with ease
>in my playthough the ape recover his posture almost instantly whenever I stopped hitting him for even one second
I still managed to kill him but why?
Is this because my attack is way too low? (4 when I defeat him)

Agreed. It does a great job of teaching players to focus on the posture meter, and the best kind of puzzle boss

Bros I'm trying to avoid spoilers but is the sakura droplet something that affects the ending?

Parry his big sword slam combo finisher for free hits. Run the fuck away when he begins to wiggle before his scream (the tell starts long before the danger symbol pops up)

They siphoned carp immortality, and gone fish bonkers lovecraft style. But actually whole game is japanese history allegory.
Corrupt monks - well it's corrupt monks IRL, did you know monasteries got alcohol monopoly during heian and muromachi periods and personal army? it was bonkers
Fountainhead is about heian downfall, famine, courtier culture going to shit in late 9th c.
Kuro is representation of emperor family and how they were completely removed from power.
There are are other references to wars and nobles infighting but those are major points I think.

Firecrackers the first phase, nail Parries second phase

If you didnt bring kotaru to Patches you have no soul

Cure dragonrot. You need to collect the blood sample from one of the victim and give it to Emma before she can make that option available at the idols

Posture regenerates slower if injured.

>buy game
>camera is still dogshit
>gameplay is still pretty bad
>return after an hour
why can't those fucking gooks make a game with a good camera
its been 11 years

Oh wait wrong one. That one is just used for increasing the maximum revives you have

No

The first boss after horse guy I encountered was corrupted monk I definitely did something completely wrong didn't I.

No no shit I mean like, the thing that gives you an extra revive pip.

He probably didnt know how to salvage it. Half the domain feels fucked up, from Mibu Village to the monks at Mt.Kongou and the snake plague at Sunken Valley.

they're hungry

use mouse camera is good

.... how

Where do you get firecracker

The one thing getting me is the posture he's building on me. I swear I'm parrying correctly but it just keeps climbing. Stepping away to try and block to recover it only makes it worst since he rushes up to me the moment I'm not in killing distance.

It's something you give to someone like 1/3rd through the game. Don't worry about it.

Yea, it's not needed for any of the ending. You have the option to give it to either Kuro or Rice Loli later.

Ah okay good I gave it to the Divine child though in case it might bite me in the ass and I don't want Kuro to get hurt.
God I was so happy with how that turned out since it would have been easy for them to go for the cheap tragedy.
>Patches
Is he legit voiced by the proper leg himself in english?

Run around a lot during the first phase, wait for him to do combos that give you an opening, like when he jumps on his back and flails around, he runs to try to grab you, etc.
Second phase, get good at deflecting his weird sword swings. He builds posture damage pretty quickly, and his big overheard stab into the ground, if deflected, is a guaranteed stun on him.

Sculptor doesnt call you Sekiro. No idea about Emma since I didnt give her all my booze or listened on her.

Is there a mega for the ost yet?

first memorial mob in outskirts sells it

unlock skill double ichimonji. when he does his 2x shuriken and jump slam, side step the air attack and hit him with 2x ichimonji. it heals your posture meter with each hit and does good hp and posture damage to him

So there's only one of those crying lady miniboss? She was so fun to fight, way better than the decapitated fuckers

Attached: 1553492708291.jpg (640x479, 36K)

took me a full day to beat that purple lone longsword ninja in that cave where he kicks the shit out of you

tell me i'm gonna be fine Yea Forumsros, seems like the next place is a dark cave with some glowing purple enemy at the distance

>thought he'd go peacefully
>screams in agony

oh...sorry

I doubt it i just call him that

I went towards the shadow blade guy was and just kept going and didn't look back.

You had to have fought bull and that haunted temple thing.

>Tengu
>Isshin
user, I...

she calls you okami. only isshin calls you sekiro, he invented the name when you first meet him after horse guy

He gets to play with the children in the halls of eternity though. We don't see the children but they may actually be there. I would think that is better than him dying on the battlefield scavenging for loot

Pretty sure Isshin is literally the only one who calls you Sekiro.

Go Shura ending and you fight Emma

>ONE
>THE PARENT IS ABSOLUTE

Attached: file.png (288x480, 227K)

You are not going to be fine

>Spent a few hours to finally defeat the Demon of Hatred
The fire upgrade of the shield was a god-send to use when he goes this big jump thing, free heavy hits.

>Sword Saint
This took me a good several hours, if only because it's 4 damn phases, and the phases I want to practice the most were the last two, but damn what a good fight.
>It gives you a special combat art you can only make use of during new-game+.

But he makes a friend

Perfect Parries don't negate all posture damage.
I thought he did. When you give him booze and killing the demon of hatred

Remember that first general you fought in Ashina Outskirts? In area after him with fat hammer guy there's a tent with crows around it up high, thats a merchant who sells it

Probably on the purple ninja, first time through Hirata. Just jumped off the cliff, reset his aggro, came back and backstabbed him.

I don't understand how people have this problem. Literally upon meeting him he calls you Sekiro and you respond "You're..."

Oh I thought those are mini bosses like most the swordsman you encounter.

Don't do what I did and do all the hard shit for nothing

>in the halls of eternity though
it's called illusion hall, he is under illusion talking to dead kids and going to die happy
you basically make him heroin addict.

Yeah I know. Only Tengu/Isshin calls you Sekiro. It would defeat the point of Tengu/Isshin if others called you Sekiro

To anyone playing with PS4 ds4 controller
Use ds4window instead of the steam bigscreen method.

The camera control is much better in the first one since all the steam bigscreen does is map your analog to the mouse camera control.

You can shove spear down Guardian Apes throat in 2nd phase, when he falls down, for massive posture damage.
Is there anything like this in other boss battles?

>We don't see the children but they may actually be there.
They are actually there. The rice loli talks to them in one segment if you do Return ending

I know who they are dipshits

this is actually sad part, she looks so cool in that fight, wish you could fight her as an option without going insane

He only calls you wolf/ookami not Sekiro.
Sekiro is the name only Isshin ever calls you by.

Well shit i didn't think that through. Maybe he was better off dead.

You'll make it. By end game you'll face so many purple guys you'll have their moveset perfected. I say avoid spooky glowy enemies until you get a whistle prosthetic and upgrade it to hurt them.

Just imagine him standing there on the balcony, chilling day after day
>sekiro walks in
>"oh fucking finally, some action"

But he's not the only one that can see the children, the Divine Child sees them to.

Does the guy that waits for you in the Serpent God shrine come back? I still don't have a secret technique like he asked me, and now that I went back there's one of those purple fags as a miniboss. Do I even get something neat if from talking with the swordsman after I learn a secret technique?

The children are real, rice loli made it for all the children that died from the monk experiments.

duh, hall was made for her.

you get something, arguably useless.

The game naturally detects my ds4 without ds4windows or bigscreen.

Thank fucking god.
That seems a little convoluted

>The children are real
they are dead though. talking to ghosts is not healthy, user.

>That monk in the Hall of Illusion
>Clearly hates you being there and is constantly telling you to go away
What an asshole.

Will there be pvp in the DLC? I wouldn't mind some kind of Deathmatch FFA in arenas like the Poison Pit or Folding Monkey area.

Look at kotaro. Do you really think he gives a shit? He just wants to be with his friends and the ones he failed to protect.

Just so we're clear - by "children" you mean those poor monkeys that you slaughtered in cold blood?

I tried to spirit him away to rob him of his safe space. Didn't work.

God her jap voice is so sexy. She actually has a role in Nioh too.
youtube.com/watch?v=Y5mBEnOSX1c

no, real kids that died from monk experiments

No, I'm pretty sure they programmed the whole combat system without online in mind.

No, invisible children that you can't see.
Kotaro mentions them, but acknowledges that you probably are unable to see them.
The Divine Child goes to the Hall too and talks with them, about the stuff going on, and Wolf, during her quest.

No, the souls of all the failed attempts by the monks to make a divine child
Also the monkeys aren't dead, just trapped in the folding screens.

>Died of sickness
I assumed he actually got cut down by Emma after getting cornered and finally lusting for immortality enough to go after Kuro, dude did die with sword in hand.

>reach place closest to Nirvana
>some asshole comes along and raises a ruckus
Would be pissed too.

The children are invisible in the monkey room, I'm certain they're not the monkeys.

I regret I didn't think to try that, a shame it doesn't work.

nah, I think he simply died crawly to kuro he lost his sword in the way it's a bit back from him

I didn't even find that monk before defeating the monkeys

So, is it established at some point how Isshin dies before you fight him later as Sword Saint?
Last thing I remember was him being alive in his room during the first phase of the raid on Ashina, and then during the second phase he's gone, along with his Tengu mask, so I assumed he was live, but I guess he just dies at some point?

Eh, personally I like the idea that he trained Emma in the sword solely to cut him down if he ever became an Ashura.

>tfw just beat sword saint but dealt with his last 2 phases with chip damage and lightning reversal instead of actually breaking his posture meter

did you get to palace? it's after palace.

Isn't there an ishin fight? I've seen webm of it. Unless that is the shura ending.

Disregard my dumb ass, I forgot Emma next to his dead body. That somehow just slipped my mind, wow.

I hope to fuck not. if you faggots want your shitty PvP play a fucking fighting game or play the other 5 other games from has with that shitty gimmick.

it could be hilarious though if two players go into perfect parry mode and fight for eternity

Surprised you didn't break his posture with low health and lightning reversals, as that does such a big chunk to his posture.

>Fight big monkey
>"Shinobi Defeated"
>He gets back up
>Terrors me
>2nd revive doesn't work

That was my first attempt at him.
Now I can't even get past the first phase.

>listening to this song as I browse the thread
>fucking Gas Gas Gas autoplays next

i didnt find him any worse than other sword fights. just learn the moves.

The hall is an illusion and holds the souls of all those dead kids that cant reincarnate because the monks cursed them with their rejuvinating water fuckery. being able to chill in a magical realm with all your friends that died isnt anything like being a heroin addict you idiot.
sure as fuck beats looting corpses for a kike merchant for the rest of your life.

This. PvP shitters are cancer, I'm still mad at all the attention that it got when it was just a neat sidefeature.

you're psyching yourself out. just calm down, user. you can do it.

Perfect Parry doesnt negate all posture damage so eventually someone would break.

Did you ever PVP in DS2? It was fantastic, almost like the whole game was built around it instead of PVE the PVE was in fact shit on that game

easy mode would be - stun him with firecrackers
but I would recommend to learn his moveset for 5-10 tries, it's really cool

>looting corpses for a kike merchant for the rest of your life
The merchant dies when the Ministry invades. You can find his body. Some user said Taro's body was also near him if you sent him.

>it took From over a decade to implement an actual pause screen

>It was fantastic,
It really wasn't

Successful Deflects don't break your own posture (even when maxed), and Sekiro doesn't suffer posture damage from enemies deflecting him.
So if both players retain Sekiro's defensive rules, it would indeed be infinite.

Or being tortured with experiments to death in an abandoned dungeon until they dump your body in the river.

You won't break with perfect parry.

I seriously dont understand the appeal of PvP in souls games.
my ex was all over that shit and it was the most boring thing to watch.

it's sad they didn't implement gathering place like in DS2, only one guy moves to the temple

Yeah, I was really hoping for some of the other NPC's to show up, like Blackhat or something, or the Info Broker, but nope.

Because you're watching it

actually does that quest result in something interesting? I couldn't send shamisen bro to dungeon.

Good, fuck that greasy shit. only reason i didnt murder him was so i could grab the phantom kunai.

I did, it was still shit. DaS's combat system isn't a good fit for PvP due to its simplicity and their shit netcode. Wasting resources on polishing that turd was a horrible decision.

>put training dummy out of his misery
>sculptor went demon crazy
>emma just left
>merchant is all alone, says he'll probably leave soon

its so lonely at the end

why do you hate the guy? he brings you goods.

Be aggressive but don't be stupid. Chase his ass and get in hits where you can, but don't ever try to be greedy. Don't try to cheese it with firecrackers more than 1-2 times. The fan shield is a god send for his terror if you get caught in it and a lot of second phase is parrying/dodging attacks while waiting for his downward swing that locks him for a solid 5-6 hits on a parry.

Different stroke for different folks i guess. i spent hundreds of hours invading and dueling
It was probably because of people like me who spent a lot of time doing it and just wrecked people and trolled sorry

I wouldn't normally post a twitter cap but...
>Beetdown
>Beet

Attached: D2zX3VLUwAANsOf.png (292x337, 27K)

>He died before I bought the phantom kunai because of the invasion
>It shows up at the dilapidated temple shrine so you can still purchase it.

The old ladies near the Kongo Temple, at the pit in the abandoned dungeon and near the Guardian ape - are those the same character moving around, or are they different persons?

>phantom kunai
It will go back to the offer box next to trainer bro. Costs 4500 though

It gives you an optional fight vs. the samurai dude and the doctor both gone insane and insanely strong. They only have 1 health bar tho and you can stealth kill both of them to avoid what probably would be the most bullshit fight otherwise in the game.

so how true is it that deflecting is less effective when you spam it? just saw a dude beat Isshin by mashing the guard button whenever he was being attacked

I think it's same granny

Why are people so bad at videogames

Attached: 1553751278951.jpg (343x481, 39K)

Damn, jumping on enemies head feels so good, and I thought nothing could surpass Dark Souls parry sound

Attached: 1552577999744.jpg (400x400, 21K)

Do I need to get taro persimmon for true end or can I just give the girl some regular ones

There are hundreds of games released every year. Why do they want this one specifically to cater to them? Can't they go play something else with an easy mode? I don't understand.

finally killed demon the painfully long way. what a piece of shit

Why would you want an easy mode in this game? It's meant to be about learning, and overcoming. Hell, the moment I got to the Demon Bell I rang the shit out of it.
That's the appeal of these games, if it's not your cup of tea, why play it?

Wait, so;
>An immortal(?) dragon(?) drifts to Japan from China and takes root on a mountain where it turns into a giant Sakura-Archtree
>Waters springing from the mountain cause a form of immortality to take root in those who drink it because of worms(?) in the water
>Eventually it becomes an object of worship and makes a pact with the Ashina clan
>Fountainhead Palace is established at some point for rich ass nobles to sip on the best/purest immortality water (even though it still turns them into fish people?) and they grow giant carp for some important reason(?)
>Monks on the mountain begin to pursue immortality at some point with the Rejuvenating Water which is a more diluted version of the good shit at Fountainhead?
>They experiment on a loooooot of kids and eventually create Rice Loli, a pure immortal with no side effects(?)
>Previous Divine Heir(Dragon/Human Hybrid?) figures out how to get rid of immortality at some point
>Tomoe is alive around this time, fights Isshin, learns lightning magic(from the dragon?), mentors Isshin's grandson and is somehow related to the fish-people at Fountainhead
>Isshin leads a coup and seizes power for Ashina(?)
>During that war ( or was it a later war with the Ministry?) Wolf is found as a war orphan by Owl and raised to be a shinobi
>Kuro is born at some point and everyone wants some of that immortal Shota so Wolf is assigned his bodyguard

Is this about right? Kuro's immortality-granting blood is special due to some stronger/purer relation with the Divine Dragon(though it still causes Dragonrot if abused). Meanwhile everyone else has to make do with jury-rigged immortality by using the worm-water which eventually causes a giant centipede to grow inside their body?
But what role does the giant carp play?

Attached: 20190328021658_1.jpg (1680x1050, 233K)

does anyone know if the confetti boosts damage against the hatred demon?

do they drop anything good?

if you do it on purpose it gives you more time for next one or to jump, dodge
spamming fucks you up for some followups

They need to fit in for playing the latest game made from "the people that made dark souls"

Because it's popular. Easier to make clickbait article with.

Who should I give the sake to?

You can just give her regular ones. Hell, there wasn't any kind of special dialogue for giving her the Taro one.

If you actually spam it as fast as you can while you wait for a big hit to come then you won't parry but block the hit instead. The game even tells you that it gets harder to parry shit if you spam it.

This should be the reward for a no hit run.

>do they drop anything good?
No, just two red lumps with unique descriptions from other red lumps. If there's more to the quest than that I haven't found it.
Also what makes the fight bullshit if you don't stealth kill them is that they are on that shitty tiny island in the abandoned dungeon so there's very little room to move around.

whoever you want, it just gives lore

>But what role does the giant carp play?
he is the source of rejuv waters as I understand it. he is like beast kuro? something along those lines, that's why whole palace gone lovecraft horror

The giant carp is one of the stages into becoming a dragon

anyone else enjoying how Sekiro combat is basically a rhythm game?

i have both the snake hearts, where the fuck i have to go?

>Final boss of Sekiro 2 is the pot noble

>Fountainhead Palace
That's not just a place for rich people.
It's pretty much (buddhist) Heaven.

I'm too much of a fag to ring the bell.

actually timing deflects is more effective. you can still skate by just spamming guard though, because for whatever reason you maintain blocking after releasing for like a second (which means its totally safe to spam)

feed them to rice loli

The replayability is just not there.
200-500 hours in all Souls games, under 80 in Sekiro and I'm done.

i want to feed the rice loli my snake

>Kill the Giant Carp
>Its body ends up at the Guardian Monkey arena
Explain this to me, I still don't get it

Isshin was a greater warrior than a leader or politician.

We can safely assume that the kid's dead considering what's going on inside the temple.

thanks bois i beat him

Couple questions:
-I just stumbled upon two damn apes. Is the reward just another prayer bead or is it actually worthwhile, and is this optional?
-I've met this old crone twice in two places asking for rice, where do I find rice?
-Does it matter who I give sake to? Is there any reward other than just some dialogue?
-I've reached the top of the temple area with all the infested monks, went down through the poison swamp into the giant snake den and beyond, where is there left to go? The dungeon seems to just loop back to the start of the game. I have the flower and the kid says I need a rock or something. Also already went all the way through the 'memory' to lady butterfly and beat her.

I'm enjoying the game so far, once I beat Genchiro I felt like I had a better understanding of how to play. Also when can I kill that damn snake for good?

Attached: 1488045182693.jpg (379x568, 116K)

That is where the water from the fountainhead goes. There is an item or something that had that in the description from what i remember

Go to travel and then look at the antique map.

What's Isshin's third phase ? Haven't beaten his second.

Also is there any way to actually significantly impact his posture or is it gonna be just poking every 2 minutes ?

>Pot Emperor

>According to Chinese mythology, the Dragon’s Gate is located at the top of a waterfall cascading from a legendary mountain. Many carp swim upstream against the river’s strong current, but few are capable or brave enough for the final leap over the waterfall. If a carp successfully makes the jump, it is transformed into a powerful dragon.
I found this just now. Seems to make sense, I guess.

>Trusting a 1,000 year old Centipede masquerading as a young girl just because it gives you rice

Attached: 1543484794066.jpg (405x412, 52K)

>tfw just beat demon of hatred

Feel like the rest of the game will be a breeze after this point. I got the dragon mask so my attack power is one higher than it should be.

Attached: 1537741646843.gif (263x232, 1M)

you can impact his posture by not being a faggot and actually keeping up the aggression. perfect deflect all of his attacks, mikiri his thrusts, jump kick his sweeps, deflect his anime quick draw, and most importantly...

get gud

Where the fuck do I go after getting the mortal blade?
I have spent the last 10 hours trying to figur it out. No boss has taken me more than 3 tries but I have no fucking idea where to go next

>This is why Magikarp evolves into Gyarados

Attached: 1341892643695.jpg (170x143, 12K)

pretty sure it has special dialogue, but it's just a couple lines

Attached: 20190324175924_1.jpg (1920x1080, 338K)

-I just stumbled upon two damn apes. Is the reward just another prayer bead or is it actually worthwhile, and is this optional?
The reward is a prayer bead an attack up, and a new Ninjutsu technique
>I've met this old crone twice in two places asking for rice, where do I find rice?
From the rice loli
>Does it matter who I give sake to?
Just dialogue/lore, so whoever you're more interested in hearing around, Sculptor, Emma, or Isshin
>where is there left to go?
Did you find the loli at the Temple? And there is a Bloodborne esque water village down below, where you'll need to go anyway to find the next item (stone)

Wait, she's a centipede?

i assumed its cause thats where the river ends. it would be quite the journey for a giant fish corpse though.

threw oil on rin to skip 1 healthbar.

>What's Isshin's third phase ? Haven't beaten his second.
Mostly the same as his second with two more moves added, one which if countered properly makes the phase technically much easier than the second.
>Also is there any way to actually significantly impact his posture or is it gonna be just poking every 2 minutes ?
Be more aggressive and deflect more of his attacks, you can get through it almost as fast as first phase if you get good enough (I can't get that fast but still fast enough).

Fuck off y
Fuck you

i dont care if it is actually just a sentient centipede so long as it lets me lewd its loli shell

Phase 3 is just Phase 2 + Lightning
The best advice I can give is to try to dodge his attacks rather than deflect them so you can whittle down his health quicker while he’s recovering, otherwise yes it’s just gonna be poking each other

We don't know that she is a centipede.....
Fuck man this makes too much sense thinking about it and what happens to the old lady when you give them the rice. They go all catatonic. I now do not know which ending i want thanks dick.

I'm pretty sure the memory does in fact state the monkeys are former children but there were way more than just them.

What apes? I'm way past you and it feels like I missed those.

all the other artificial immortals are

isn't adding an easy mode pretty much disrespecting the players?

Still a better fate than the alternative.

if you go to the area past poison pool after killing ape, you get monkey trouble

>It's pretty much (buddhist) Heaven.
nah, it's a bunch of nobles drunk on eternity.
as I said above it's heian in miniature, that's how it was set up
1. nobles sit in the capital city and lead fun lives of culture
2. they got proxies on land to manage rice fields for them and get profit for nothing
3. it all goes to shit later Kyoto got famine, plague and bandits on streets
proxies become proto daimyo(not real ones yet), which leads to kamakura period later on which in turns leads to dismissal of imperial family power(takeru/kuro)
that's all even before sengoku shitstorm.
the dragon represents asuka reforms that were heavily influenced by buddhism and chinese government system in around 690s, that's when heian started up
so all this led to sengoku where game is set when japan goes into peace after severing ties with chinese old ways completely

She said the same thing when I gave her a normal one, unless it's only just a few words different.
Saying like Oh my! It's so delicious!

Unclear if she's an actual centipede but unlikely as the experiment producing her was intended to imitate the Divine Heir instead of the centipede bullshit.

She's the only one that actually ended up successful in the experiments they were conducting, I doubt she's a centipede but to be fair the game doesn't give any proper info to confirm either case.

>Rice is actually centipede eggs
Gross.

So, which ending is supposed to be "true" and why?

Attached: really makes you think.png (500x498, 231K)

I saw all the comparison between this and Tezuka's Dororo.

But I think Sekiro is more inspired by Hi no Tori (Phoenix) than anything.
>the theme of immortality
>the sculptor is literally a Phoenix Hououhen's Gaou reference
Phoneix to Sekiro is what Berserk is to Dark souls.

Attached: images (2).jpg (225x225, 13K)

well, she could absorb kuro in return ending
doubt she is a centipede

OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! Did we just crack the lore of this game? Wait until Vaati steals this from us.

all of them are true. either way immortality leaves ashina

She's implied to not be a centipede, because the method they used to give her immortality is different/incredibly difficult.
Getting centipede'd seems rather easy, as a bunch of mook monks and randoms are immortal through that way, and it isn't mentioned to be difficult.
And they mentioned only children were used in the experiments she was apart of, with her being the sole survivor, further evidence of no centipede.

She gave us "special" rice to give to kuro which could be fucking centipede eggs. This is why she can absorb him. Holy fuck, Return ending is actually the worst ending.

Return is the "true" ending.

>Nobody mentioning the quads

Does the Bell Demon increase EXP or just loot?

oh fuck, forgot about special rice
not sure if it's worst ending though, they are going to china and everyone is alive

But Kuro uses that rice to make some sweet sticky rice desert thing, that he gives to Wolf.
>If you eat it in front of him, he asks what you think of it?
>Wolf is stunned by how delicious it is, Kuro remarks that Wolf has a sweet-tooth

I have 19 vit and 3 beads, what are some easily missable beads?

I haven't found any loli, I found the idol at the top of the temple where there are a ton of infested monks and one that doesn't talk but is non hostile. Dark cave with those little mini centipede giraffes. Did I miss a path somewhere?

only loot

Who killed the old monk in the cave? Genchiro?

Just loot, no effect on XP at all.

did you beat gen-chan?

You need to a kill a certain story boss in Ashina before you can do anything more at the temple.

poison pool top of statue, hirata estate fake wall, last house in mibu village, top floor above tengu

Did you explore the temple before you defeated Genichiro? If so, and you've defeated Genichiro now, return to that last temple at the top with the giant gold buddha statue, there will now be a bell on a table in front of it. Go from there.

Hate to spoil the fun but his glowing eyes means he will never grow into the carp he wants

You can only meet the rice loli on Mt. Kongo after you've made it to the top of Ashina Castle.

hm, does NG+ increase XP from early enemies?

I sorta cheesed this as well.

>Stealth to ledge whilst alerting sword guy
>Hang down and wait for him to turn around
>Stealth kill
>Puppeteer shuriken the sitting guy next to the wall
>You can chain spear guy’s ass because he’s getting shot by your minion continuously

Felt good.

I ate my riceball in front of Genchiro, just to rub it in.

Is Owl the strongest normalfag in this game? Everyone else seems to have some special snowflake power or two.

I'm just going off what has been said in these threads because i haven't beaten the game yet do not mind me. I thought kuro eats the special rice.

Who are the invaders supposed to be, another clan?

Yes and increases gold gain a fuckton

How or when does that questline continue, I just send the samurai guy to doktor and he thanked me

>Kill Genichiro and the mini-boss before him within 2 tries with the demon bell active
I thought you niggers said this game was difficult

Attached: 1535221780935.png (1174x941, 930K)

Yes
He's also smart enough to fight dirty

there is also a hidden wall in ashina castle near antechamber idol

owl2 is the special snowflake version

Are boss skills necessary for the all Skills trophy or do you only need all skill trees maxed and the stuff you can buy?

>See a big ass empty chamber in Ashina Depths
>Think boss fight is coming
>Walk through area slowly
>Nothing happens at all
>Tall to afro samurai on the other side
Alright I guess.

Weird, I had that happen, where the Seven Ashina Spears guy fell off and died, I beat the samurai, but it never gave me the reward for killing the mini-boss, so when I rested at the statue, he was back. So I had to beat him properly.

Where the fuck is the second pothead merchant. I can't find a way to climb his cliff in the fountainhead palace, no grappling point, nuthin!

Attached: 20190329003713_1.jpg (2560x1440, 221K)

Both of them are piss easy

bell doesn't work on bosses, and gen is technically a second boss

Why couldn't Miyazaki have just made Bloodborne II? Sekiro is boring and bland. It was fun for the first two days but now I don't even wanna beat it anymore.

Attached: bloodborne-2.jpg (590x350, 31K)

Okay, this must be it, because I have defeated Genchiro and went all the way to 2ape. I just haven't been back to the temple since that time. Thanks anons!

Attached: 1486672944438.png (717x1083, 766K)

Double Trouble

I like how he fights similar to how player does.

this carp and dragon stuff is in japanese folklore and also in Yakuza games
this can only mean that the japanese yakuza are centipede people and centipedes control japan (asia truly is filled with bugmen)

Bloodborne is boring and bland. Hope they make Sekiro 2 in China.

Hard to explain, but there's a 'hidden' branch to grapple up to that leads to a bath to him/his statue. If you start from the gate/stairs that you can open from the inside it, and head out along the cliff, there will be a branch you have to jump to grapple to.

Cope harder sonygroid

Attached: 1553612177395.png (631x710, 1003K)

Yeah same happened with me, I think you need to get the final deathblow or it won't count them as killed.

>bell doesn't work on bosses
is this true? the wiki says it affects all enemies

>gen is technically a second boss
what do you mean by that?

old Isshin swings his sword so hard he sets the area on fire and also has judgement cut, all with nothing but his skill and while dying

shocking truth

Did I fuck up somehow? I just did Senpou Temple and then came here.

>what do you mean by that?
that he is a second boss in the game? it's basically gargoyles in DS1

bell definitely works on bosses, the damage difference is noticeable

It's stated he was brought back at his prime for that fight.
>what do you mean by that?
I guess he means that Geni is just a really early boss in the game.

I said old Isshin not sword saint

they still kill you in two hits so nothing changes for me

He's the first real boss sorta. He's also the easiest to bully.

>last house in mibu village
Where the village head that's drinking sake is? In that case, yeah, got all of them, found both secret doors too.

It’s only there after you killed the Guardian Ape, which is unmissable

for some reason he only did the lightning attack the very first time I got to phase 3, then never again. altho I only got to phase 3 one other time which was when I beat him so maybe I just skipped the transition somehow

Attached: isshin.webm (736x524, 2.93M)

Redpill me: how long is the game? Or should i wait for a sale

I figured thats what you meant but didn't make sense to me but I remembered I killed butterfly -> horse -> genchi so he was 3rd for me

You just did things in a weird order. I did the exact same shit.

check box in temple, there is a boss available only during short time
is beads goes in the box I think

cave under the floor near centipede giraffe?

Any point in ringing the bell for the boss/mini boss fight?

There is a boss fight there but you can effectively skip it if you do Ashina depths before sunken valley. If you head back to that spot after completing sunken valley you can fight a boss for some pretty good loot, and then fight a mini-boss in the same spot later for an item that upgrades your finger whistle.

I've just reached ashina castle. I can proceed inside or I can go to the monk valley place or the poison depths area. Which way do I go anyway? I have buddha teleports in each place and I just dont know if any of these 3 places is ideal to go to first

that one is tricky. after the game I watched what beadas I missed, apparently many.

Sekiro is Bloodborne 2.

I'll be real with you user, I had no idea you fight old Isshin, I guess that must be through the "Obey Owl" ending route?

You're meant to fight the boss at the top of castle first but you can pretty much visit other places first.

whatever you like. you can beat every area at any point if you want to

i wish i were kotaro in this pic

Im fucking shit at the game but killed the Owl first try

Go wherever your heart desires. It really doesn't matter

Found the item and went through the two tunnels there, so don't think that's it.

I've tried to go everywhere after the two different changes and the temple box has nothing.

>final boss second phase
how the shit can i tell when the red sign is a sweep and when it is a thrust?

red eye iaido guy after dragon?

You can go wherever but there's a story boss at the top of the castle that gives you a battle memory so it's best to get that before you fuck off elsewhere

yeah, worst ending, made for bad speed runners

some people beat some bosses easy, I think it strongly depends on how many hours one got in souls, I got only 100 in all 3

You're at the final boss and still haven't gotten used to looking at the build-up of their animation, to see if you're going to sweep or thrust?
Do you just run away or something whenever an enemy does an unblockable?

Perilous attacks really should be color coded;
Red=Grab
Blue=Sweep
Green=Thrust

oh right, there is a bead or two closed off in hirata estate 2

eggs the riceloli farts out of her centipede butt

Part of me says "yes", but the other part of me thinks that makes it too easy.
That split-second decision making to determine what kind of attack it is is neat, if it was all color-coded there'd be less thinking.

FUUUCK
I accidentally slipped off the cliff and fell into the water immediately after I killed the big snake. There were a bunch of items and grappling hook spots up there and I see no possible way to ever return there, and also the snake's body is now gone. What did I miss up there

i thought this was the guy that was foreshadowed to use the spear on to rip off his armor
imagine my shock when after like 10 tries at doing that i accidentally knocked him off the ledge
i still haven't ripped off any armor to this day

You can see it coming if you pay attention man, it's really not that hard.

It's fine the way it is honestly. It could've been worse. There could've been no perilous attack indicator at all.

I did the exact same damn thing, and I have no idea either.

jizo statue and either divine grass or upgrade material, nothing major

I think it's just a coin purse and a mibu balloon

It clearly says ill fitting armor in the loading screen and spear description

it really doesnt need to be, its really not hard to react to the animations,

Thank god. I thought i missed the dried snake heart when i did the same as this guy

The red eye parry check in Ashina upper floor? Got him. IIRC the only other one is a drunkard near the Northern Ogre's original position.

I did the purple robe guy on the upper floor, don't remember if the ogre rehash gave one.

It's not a rhythm game. The answers aren't even hard coded. Next you'll say they should display damage numbers before every attack. The game doesn't want to rely on the UI to telegraph attacks, so it does the bare minimum: tell you what is unblockable because it's impossible to communicate that with just the animations when they're otherwise normal attacks.

The kanji are different

I didnt get to Gen until I did pretty much every possible area before him just because I couldnt figure out how to get above the antechamber

No, but this guy is just fucking unpredictable the flowers on the field make it hard to see what he's doing

no

>When you notice that tiny glint of light right before Isshin does his judgement cut, thus allowing for perfect deflects every time
Try harder old man

It's not. They're all the same red 危

Holy shit, owl 2 was brutal. took me quite a lot of time to adapt.

>the flowers on the field make it hard to see what he's doing
that's the real hard part. his moveset is not that difficult in general

I don't think thats right but i dont have the game in front of me rn

It literally isn't, it's the same kanji each time.
It's : 危
Which just means DANGER

when the little "rat" assassin guys in the rice-farmer hats parry you and counterattack by slicing at your foot, it it possible to block or parry this counterattack? Or is it like a fast unblockable sweep with no perilous attack indicator? I have tried so many times to parry that move and it always hits me

Stuck for 5-6 hours with Owl 2 (Hirata). I'm going to give up for the day.
Phase 1 is hard, okay, but the camera glitching in phase 2 and the retarded wooden beams which make his lunge very unpredictable as well as the phoenix shot have drained me of any will to live.

And supposedly there are harder bosses, hahaha, I'm not going to make it bros.

>just discovered the Ichimonji tree
>2nd tier is all about posture rape and is relatively cheap
God fucking dammit I would've grabbed this hours ago before fighting mada mada all those times. Eh, at least she'll be easier tomorrow, plus I found the rat run for grinding

That's actually fair, the flowers do make it difficult. How I managed it:
>If he's doing the perilous strike, but his body isn't moving much, it's the thrust, because he's pulling the sword in close to his body
>If there's a lot of movement to his build-up, he's going for the sweep

Usually couldn't see the sword half the time, so I just based it on how he was moving, or what little I could see of him.

that one dude in the dojo who only does that attack and the red eyed version trained me for that well

You forget the best part. It heals like 70% of your posture bar in 2 hits

It is.
It's called 危険攻撃 in Japanese.
gecipe.jp/sekiro/articles/f/40100758

The fact that you can't possibly get through his armor with anything you do and the only way of killing him is to throw him off the bridge singlehandedly proves that west > east

Camera really is annoying, especially when he starts flying around. Just try to hide behind a pillar when he does his phoenix fire shot thing, the thrust afterwards will be blocked by the pillar as well.

It should be deflectable, it probably just has weird timing.

what's the difference between deflect and parry and block?

run the fuck away from owl form, jump the phoenix then mikiri the shadowrush
also dodge to the right when he does the big combo into gunpowder, I see too many streamers jump away and miss the punish

I've just jumped Phoenix, is that not reliable? Anyway if you haven't done the gimmick boss yet that's a free damage boost, and then there's the optional endgame fight in Outskirts.

holy shit the block in this game is incredibly OP.
I beat 4 bosses already and i kept dying because i suck at parrying, but simply blocking the attacks let's me play this game like any other soulsborne game.

MY NAAAME

You will actually need to parry against later bosses, might as well get used to it.

The game doesn't use the word parry, only deflect, but people are saying parry to mean the same thing. It's referring to pressing the block button at the precise time during a hit, it barely damages your posture to do so, you don't lose health on attacks that would other wise lower your health even when blocked, and it deals increased posture damage to the enemy, and can completely deflect certain attacks, momentarily stunning the enemy.
Blocking is just what happens when you hold the attack button and get hit.

Block is parry
Deflect is just timed Block

>shadows dies twice
>dies

(((journalists))) are cancer

Yeah I'm gonna spend some more time rat farming tomorrow to grab that, so far I just have Ichimonji and Ascending/Descending Carp but I can tell they're gonna help, I practiced on a few grunts and I was killing them after 1 parry when it typically took 3 or 4 earlier

>playing the game dubbed

I thought we were the bad guys for suggesting we should gas people over actual problems instead of videogames. These people are deranged.

Put down your sword.

they should be if the game had an easy mode
normal should be as is
hard is where you see no symbol and just have to learn everything

Besides Isshin - yes. I fucking raged at this bossfight and was physically exhausted by the end of it. And he doesn’t even have danger moves.

>gimmick boss
Who's that?
I haven't finished Fountainhead because I read clearing the boss in that area locks you out of getting some of the other items (I already got the Frozen tears).
Ashina is not completely fucked on my playthrough.

Maybe I'll give all the Headless and Shichimen faggots a try. I think I have 8 beads and all memories up to that point.

>English dub

>use thrust attack against him
>he mikiri and one-shot you
Fuck you, old man.

End of Fountainhead, yeah. You can still fight Owl 2 after that so it's just the autist ending you may have to do more stuff before it for.

do you keep all of your items going into NG+? except key items of course

That's a really neat mix of armors, never got a chance to look at him closely during the fight.
I feel like they could have pushed the blend of east and west a bit more by having more of that cording throughout the armor, or some other Japanese touch besides just the helmet.

Why is Isshin so cool bros?

NewThread

I love that Isshida uses the same style of Ashida moves that he gives you to learn, but just way beefier versions of them.
>When he busted out the double Ichimoji
Thought that was really cool.

Okay how the fuck do you get into that tunnel above Monkey Business 2?

I'd turn that on immediately because the symbol is fucking annoying.

holy shit

DO IT

You will get your shit kicked in later on due massive posture damage of not blocking.

Miyazaki really must've liked dex builds to make a boss around this kek

Constant talking/resting. Might need some story triggers at some point too, I honestly have no idea. At one point he'll ask for red carp eyes and after that you'll realize he's gone insane.
Might need to find the secret path into the little cell, talk to him and get the memo in there, after that he'll be on the island at the back of the cave with sword dude, both with red eyes.

>His weeping is just to conceal the sound of his sword being drawn
Christ what a fucking cunt

this whole game is one big dex build user

can he shinobi deathblow you if your posture gets broken?

Yes, but only during specific move (the foot stomp move). Also one-hit kill.

You can survive it akshually, I had enough health at least.

Any good skill point and Sen farming spots before Genichiro? I want to get a few more abilities before facing this dude.

The locked cell he stands in front, there is a secret path to in?

probably mibu village with the bell demon curse shit on so you can sell more drops, there's the ninja too for more skillpoints if you want to cheese or straight up fight him

The idol after the horse guy. Run past rifleman, up the gate and kill those three rats, jump down to idol. I guess thats the fastest at that point. You can kill three of the rats with stealth and then axe the third one.
