Well guys, I did it. I reinstalled KOTOR for the oh-god-I-don't-even-knowth time. However, to make sure it's not a total waste of time, I'm gonna do something I've never done before and play as a female character. Since I find the default female rogue underwear particularly sexy, I also intend to play through the whole game without putting on clothes. Wish me luck.

KOTOR 1 is better than 2, don't even fucking debate me on this
FACT: dark side female is the best way to play kotor
FACT: light side male (w/ visas romance) is the best way to play kotor 2
I agree with you
1's gameplay and story are both worse.
Only worse thing about 2 is that it crashes more.
I won't. KOTOR 2 is too edgy and grim. Normally I wouldn't mind that but Star Wars is supposed to be kinda lighthearted IMO.
KOTOR 2 could have been as good if they'd had an extra year of development. As it is, it's a fucking mess.
I would love a game with the Bioware formula in this day
I've been playing 2 again recently too. I've played through these games so many times, but I keep coming back because they are so good. When I was growing up I had an annual playthrough every summer when school was out.
The actual enlightened pill is that they're both really good and not particularly better than the other. They're just very different. 1 is the classic hero's path story and emulates the movies (and classic literature) very closely. 2 is a different take on star wars completely, and intentionally is not the same formula as the movies/first game. It's intentionally different, and is mostly about how some individuals feel about the Force.
Talking about which is "better" doens't really matter, they're both high quality for different reasons and when people say one or the other is better, they actually mean to say "I like" one of the other more.
KOTOR 2 is better than 1, and you can't stop me fag.
2 has significantly worse world and level design, and I noticed the companion AI is also not as fine-tuned
>parroting recent thread opinion
this notion that KOTOR II is somehow less generic than KOTOR is wrong
but yes, they both have flaws and strengths, making them nearly equal in quality
that seems like a massive waste of time
install lewd mods if you're just gonna do that
what does this even mean? I've been playing these games since they came out and I studied literary criticism in college. I'm not parroting anything.
>what does this even mean?
that there's this narrative gaining currency on Yea Forums KOTOR threads that the first game is just a riff on movie plots while The Sith Lords is more of its own thing
Wow did you just discover what an opinion is?
>shaming others for discussing a game in a thread about that game
unironically kys
>that there's this narrative gaining currency on Yea Forums KOTOR threads that the first game is just a riff on movie plots
"narrative"
>Opens with the Sith shooting down a Republic ship, with their target getting away in an escape pod
>Hero is told they have to find a Jedi
>Heroes meet scoundrel+wookie duo in cantina
>Hero has to win a swoop race to free someone from captivity
>Female lead is captured, but breaks free and kills her capturer
>Hero is told they're force-sensitive and this is why they're so good at swoop racing
>Heroes meet a guy in a Cantina who offers access to a ship off-planet, which is named after a bird, supposedly the fastest in the sector and described by the owner as not looking like much
>Hero taken to Jedi Council for training, although some Jedi reluctant to do so due to "person's age"
>There is a Yoda clone
>Sith hire bounty hunter to kill heroes
>Hero built their own protocol droid
>Old Jedi living as a hermit joins the hero
>Awkward personality droid translates Sand People speech for heroes
>Underwater section with a giant fish wreaking havoc
>Ship caught in tractor beam. Crew plan "alternatives to fighting" before being taken in, but end up fighting anyway
>Heroes run around to disable the necessary systems so that the ship can escape
>Villain is disfigured Sith Lord and has some cybernetic parts as a result
>Villain makes surprise appearance. Han Solo type tries to shoot him and fails
>"I am your Father" type reveal. Jedi friend knew
>Jedi friend stays behind to fight main bad guy so that others may escape
>Main threat is a weaponized space station capable of destroying planets
>Republic/Sith square off in front of space station that's being protected by a shield generator disruptor field on a nearby world
>Heroes disable disruptor field, defeating the Sith who were waiting for them
>Hero/villain fight in observation deck overlooking said Republic/Sith battle
>Ends with award ceremony
You first, retard
>he plays as fem!Exile
>there will never be a good bioware game ever again
I just installed this last week, along with a bunch of nude mods
I'm at the rakghoul village and am already pretty bored
I know Kotor 2 on steam got updated with gamepad support, but did Kotor 1?
Played them on Xbox when they came out and m+kb just feels wrong.
kotor sucks
>Opens with the Sith shooting down a Republic ship, with their target getting away in an escape pod
TSL, except the ship makes it
>Hero is told they have to find a Jedi
Tutorial: designated hero is told they have to save the jedi
>Hero meets scoundrel
>Hero has to win a swoop race to free someone from captivity
Hero has to win a Pazaak game to free someone from captivity---in a cantina
ign.com
>Hero is told they're force-sensitive
And this is why they forged a force bond with female lead
>Heroes meet a guy in a Cantina who offers access to a ship off-planet
Heroes meet a female instead. How different.
>Hero taken to Jedi Council for training, although some Jedi reluctant to do so
>Sith hire bounty hunter to kill heroes
>Hero built their own protocol droid
>Old Jedi living as a hermit joins the hero
>Ship caught in tractor beam. Crew plan "alternatives to fighting" before being taken in, but end up fighting anyway
>Villain is disfigured Sith Lord
>Villain makes surprise appearance.
>"I am your Father" type reveal. Jedi friend knew
you get the picture
what were you expecting / hoping for?
if you want jedi powers from the get-go, go play KOTOR 2 instead maybe
the UI is also uglier imo
compared to what?
Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale had a bunch of options at the start.
this game has regular attack, power attack, rapid attack
>this game has regular attack, power attack, rapid attack
it depends on your starting class and what feats you spent on
you started as a soldier and didn't pick any other combat feats
the game also has grenades and mines, but that's a roundabout way of playing
anyway, the game starts off more slowly than KOTOR2 if you were hoping for magic usage at the start; if you're only at the rakghouls, you still have a ways to go until your character can use force powers, but not so far until they can be used period
>literally a gash in the force
>shrill screaming
>super empathy
>powers distributed through pain sensory experience, much like how SJW's administer respect
>sucks the life out of everyone around them
need i go on?
I always thought the female scout underwear was the most sexy.
Jesus fuck what the fuck is wrong with your textures?
Male Revan and female Exile, both light side, are canon.
Taris is pretty dogshit, lots of slow backtracking since you don't have Force Speed and until you free Bastila you're stuck with the worst companions in the game.
I've never heard an argument for this besides "muh traditional star wars story".
1 doesn't have retarded difficulty spikes where it ditches you with an under-equipped companion and the cutscenes have better scripting but overall 2 is the more fun game.
wew
dude, Taris is full of interesting things to do and Carth is a great guy to have around unless you're a piece of shit sith wannabe
The first game has more interesting worlds, more interesting quests, an arguably more interesting build system
thanks Electronic Arts for all the good things you've taken away
>more interesting worlds
Manaan is good, Korriban and Dantooine are in 2, Jolee the only good thing about Kashyyk, Tatooine's level design is comparable to the uncharted planets from ME, they just didn't try with that one and it's always a chore.
>an arguably more interesting build system
level 2 scoundrel/scout/soldier level 18 consular/sentinel/guardian yes very interesting.
You're going to have to elaborate on this one more because IIRC 2 is just the same game with more feats and Sith prestige classes
>Manaan is good
in theory, but in execution it's the weakest of the bunch until you get into the ocean floor
until then it's almost entirely industrial hallways
still interesting
>Korriban and Dantooine are in 2
and worse designed
Korriban has nothing to do except the dream cave, compared to being arguably the best world in the first game, with dungeons, philosophy, history, puzzles, and so on
>Jolee the only good thing about Kashyyk
it's a cool jungle world; you'd be better off arguing how Dxun is better, which would be pretty easy, really
>Tatooine's level design is comparable to the uncharted planets from ME, they just didn't try with that one and it's always a chore.
it's the most open, non-linear one
its lack of content is only deceptive---there's actually a good amount of stuff packed in, from the resolution of Griffith's plot-line, to Bastilla's back story, to the Rakatan pyramid.
>level 2 scoundrel/scout/soldier level 18 consular/sentinel/guardian yes very interesting'
that's just faggotry treating the game like it's KOTOR II; can't help but wank yourself off to being a Jedi, hunh?
Meanwhile, gunslinging, sneak attacking Light Side Scoundrel Counselor is perfectly viable and fun, with no equivalent in TSL until mid-game
>Visas romance is all intellectual and emotional, and about recognizing the sense of loss in each other
>the climax is sitting meditating together
>male only
kotor 1 is boring as fuck, generic rpg stuff, kotor 2 maybe unfinished but it makes you think about life and philosophical stuff so its more enjoyable for a mature audience.
True enlightenment is releasing Jade Empire is the best Bioware game anyway.
>bastilla romance mod
>carth romance mod
>atton romance mod
>visas romance mod
>disciple romance mod
>briana romance mod
>still no Mira romance mod
it hurts
2 doesn't crash for me at all and 1 crashes literally every 5 minutes.
I finished kotor 1 on my android tablet
I really like Tattooine. I can't give you anything else.
>caring about ""canon""
>*blueballs you*
You should play both
Carth is annoying whiny piece of trash that should have just jumped from the skyscrapers of Taris he doesn't improve the whole game.
Starts out a whiny piece of garbage ends a whiny piece of garbage.
face looks a bit weird
>start fapping at night
>she can feel it because of the force connection
Please go Karpyshyn, no one likes or cares about your shitty cancerous book.
>Wearing clothes in KOTOR
Why tho?
There's just robes and faggy shit like that
>doesn't date older guys
DAMN YOU OBSIDIAN
>Giving a shit about anything SWTOR says
SWTOR is a better game than KOTOR1 and KOTOR2 combined.
Eat Shit.
What? This has been said since 2 came out you fucking retard.
Big yikes
look at all those (you)s
SWTOR vanilla is patrician
expansions are retarded fanfiction
but the fact that is an MMO is detrimental to it's story
SWTOR is also better than the entirety of the SW film series, Episode 3 excluded.
If you're a true star wars fan, you'll play through SWTOR.
yeah no, its a total waste of time. Gameplay is so fucking bad.
sticking mira in some badass heavy armour is my first point of call when i get her.
>revans fapping makes bastila come too.
it's fine if you play a dps sin or a dps jugg, they haven't completely ruined those two classes yet, just mostly.
that's just going too far, man
One thing's being a contrarian
another very different thing is acting retarded
Compared to nothing, it's a crap game
>SWTOR apologists
Now I've seen it all.
You people should consider suicide.
